Ocean Surf at York Beach

We loved the proximity to the beach, and the wonderful outdoor pool area.

Oversized loungers scattered about the property were lovely. Outdoor fire pits (5) added such charm to the outside. 2 outdoor pools, one heated. Recently renovated rooms. We’ll be back again.

Room looks recently renovated and modern, but seems they forgot to clean the room. Left over trash in the room. Did not receive the room I selected online but there was no other availability. Parking was tough. Location is good though.

Under new management from last year. No food offered anymore, no poolside bar either. Place was very clean, but our fridge didnt work so they replaced it in a timely fashion but our experience last year was much better thats why we re-booked again. Unfortunately we wont be returning next year.

When we checked in the tv and WI Fi was down. Someone ran over the cable? It was out for 3 days but the manager and owner comped us 2 beautiful rooms overlooking the ocean with tv and wifi. The restaurant and bar at the pool didn't open this year due to terrible storms over the winter. The pool is beautiful plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Plus free coffee till 3! We will definitely stay there again!

Great property for families. Friendly staff, large and clean pool & clean rooms. Great location with beautiful view of the ocean from side deck off of room. Walking distance to Long Sands Beach and several restaurants. Had a great time with family, would definitely recommend and stay there again!

It was close to the water. No amenities. Couldn't even get a cup of coffee in the morning because the barista was not there on a weekend.

Property was away from the main hustle and bustle but not too far. One restaurant was walkable. Beach directly across was all large rocks. To get to sand beach was a 5-10 minute walk. Tv in our room was on wall and not able to be turned so you could see it from the bed, was only viewable only from one chair in the corner. You have to stream you own shows cable not available. Price of drinks were outrageous, $18 for a drink. The bartenders and staff were very nice, pool was great. Nice to have the balcony on the room. The chairs on the front lawn was a nice hang out area. Overall very nice stay.

Property was cute. Our room’s tv/WiFi didn’t work and the shower was dirty. Everything else was good.

Room was very small. WiFi was down. Two TVs in the room, neither one would turn on. Balcony screen was leaning against the wall. There was animal feces on the balcony. Ended up booking a room at the Grand View for cheaper, where I received great service and everything worked as expected.

Accommodation Our decision to book a 4-bedroom chalet at York Surf Club was influenced by enticing photos on their website. Unfortunately, the reality upon arrival was a stark contrast. The room was shockingly unclean—dirty floors and very poor maintenance. On our first night, we had to rush to a nearby Dollar Tree to purchase the most basic amenities like utensils, drying cloths, dish soap, mop, and disinfecting wipes just to begin addressing the mess. Moreover, the chalet was supposed to accommodate eight people and include a dining table and chairs, as advertised, but ours had none. Interaction with management Beth, one of the owners, demonstrated a defensive and dismissive attitude when we politely raised our concerns. She attempted to justify the hotel's poor condition by blaming recent storms in the area, which is not a valid excuse for false advertising. She was unapologetic and seemed unwilling to acknowledge the glaring discrepancy between the advertised images and the actual room condition. Location The hotel is far away from Long Sands Beach. Facilities The hotel's pool also left much to be desired, with disgustingly dirty water that made swimming unappealing and unsanitary. The misleading representations on the hotel's website were deeply concerning. Overall Experience Our experience at York Surf Club was marred by misleading advertising and unacceptable room conditions. Beth's defensive and dismissive attitude was unacceptable.

Lovely, quaint, modern...and literally right across the street from an incredible walkway along the ocean. Even in off-season, staff is excellent and engaging, and property is immaculate. Clean, with a historical charm. Will absolutely recommend and hope to stay here again!

Very clean amd quiete!

We stayed in the Fido section with our dogs. The rooms were very clean, spacious and updated. It was exactly how it looked on the website. The bed was a bit soft and there were no pods for the coffee. Luckily we brought our own Keurig. Only need to go to the office to check in and out and grab some ice. Everyone I encountered there was extremely friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Our room was very small for 4 adults and only had one chair and no table. The TV didn’t work and we had to have a maintenance worker come twice. The beds were unusually soft offering no support. Don’t think we’d ever go back. Wish we could get reimbursed a portion of our expensive rental fee. I will say the staff was very helpful and offered many suggestions on restaurants in the area.

The location is great! Right off the water and on one of the main streets that allows easy access to town and other populated areas. You can catch the sun rise from your room/right out the door. Our room was large, but felt empty, only a bed, bench and another chair. The rooms could use a small table or desk or something to eat on besides the bed. Maybe a table at the window to eat breakfast and watch the sunrise?

Looked to be recently redone so everything was fresh and had a nice coastal vibe. Hotel currently doesn't have food/beverage, but it's in a great location and an easy walk to restaurants and the beach. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay again without hestitation.

Had an ocean facing room, view of the beach and sunrise was great. Room was clean and nicely furnished. Bed is on the softer side but not uncomfortable. The only real negative is the lights on the deck are not on a switch and make the room very bright for sleeping.

I loved it -- the only thing I would request would be blackout curtains.

We are a family of 4 staying at the hotel. Amenities were good, such as the heated pool. The kids had a lot of fun there. The pool and deck were clean. The room was about as expected. We didn’t like the shared balcony, mostly just due to privacy reasons, so we didn’t stay long out there even though it was a nice view. The WI-FI might need a speed upgrade. Our streaming channels would pause for 5min and then start playing again. That was frustrating for the kids who never experienced dial up internet. The coffee maker could use an upgrade, and one of the coffee ground bags completely ripped open on us. No fault of the hotel of course other than who they use to supply the coffee. The food being served at the restaurant was very confusing for breakfast/lunch/dinner. The menu on the website did not line up with the menu on social media, so it was hard to understand what was available. The prices seemed really high as well considering some of the surrounding places we visited for food. You can’t beat the location. Loved being able to cross the street and walk along the ocean. We would stay here again.

The room was nice, but needs hooks/shelving on the wall, and small table. In room coffee or tea would also be a great perk.

I stayed 4 nights. Coffee at check in was nice to have as a daily option. Front desk staff were very nice ! Had a shared balcony with an end unit room which was nice. The bed was extremely comfortable. Would of like to have had more than just 1 chair in room. No place to sit and have a simple meal. I'm pretty eco-friendly and used the towels provided and didn't ask for anymore. Overall very convenient location to beach and walkable to beach and restaurants as well. I would return in the future.

Any chance you have an employee available to meet guest needs, 9:10 pm check in- Can’t find a staff member - no info with key left for us. No book in room to describe access to TV or Wi-Fi - no password for your Roku No Email outlining any of this A phone call came to us at 8:50 that office was closing find the key… Room was OPEN Door when we got here. A little concerning for me. 1 bath towel Umm, any blankets available? 1 chair in King room with a view 2 of us - room booked for a couple. 2 people I’m slightly more than super Disappointed. As a hospitality professional, for many years, this is not cutting the mustard. Sad, I had such high hopes.

I loved everything about the property and the surrounding area. Especially, the staff. They were extremely helpful.

The day before arrival I was called to say they were closing due to unforeseen circumstances and was moving our reservation to a sister property. I told him I would go check the property out online and get back to him if that was sufficient. I called back several times over 24 hrs and no answer. We had this trip planned for several months and at last moment was unsure of what to do. We did still fly out because of not wanting to miss our trip. We were out at a different location that wasn’t as nice as the location we booked. We were offered no money back and was never able to speak to our location first booked.

The hotel was court ordered to shut down and moved us to a different location. Unfortunately, the other location was not prepared to be open yet for the season and did not have TV or wifi available.

Great location. The owner and staff were amazing with warm and friendly service. Upon our arrival we were greeted and welcomed as if they had known us for a long time. My husband and I were impressed with their attention to detail that we are returning soon and staying again at this location.

When my fiance and I checked into our room, we received the wrong room at first. The hotel made right by it the next night by upgrading our room for the remainder of our stay and offering a credit for the inconvenience. The hotel was incredibly comfortable. The views were outstanding as was the pool.

The staff was extremely pleasant. I loved the complimentary coffee in the office. The hotel is right across from Long Sands.

Cute place, very welcoming check-in, couldn’t have been nicer. Really like the aesthetic in the room - nice details. The tv is beyond me, can’t figure it out and no directions, but that must mean I need to unplug! Very comfortable bedding, dog fee $75 was a surprise but that’s ok. Overall a very nice place across from the beach.

I’m so glad we checked out this property. It was so close to the beach that we left out slider open at night and could hear the waves. Very cute. We will definitely be back!

This property is under new management and they are relying on pictures from the prior managements success. There is no dining option on premises, there is no full time cleaning staff. It took 3 days to get clean towels delivered. The wifi and television did not work at all during our stay. The pool was shut down for most of our stay, and there were hundreds of dead bugs smashed on our rooms ceiling. While the employees I dealt with were friendly, they obviously don't have enough. The manager promised to make it right through a credit or upgrade, but that never happened. Guests that we spoke to that had visited last year were shocked at the operation, and were severely disappointed. There is no outdoor yoga as advertised, there is no poolside service, there is no dining, there is no rawbar. There is no outdoor lounge as depicted in the photos, and there is no turndown service. You will pay a daily cleaning charge, but will not have your room cleaned. You will also have to ask for toilet paper from the front desk, as that is not replenished during your stay. But it sure does look great in the pictures, right?

Close to a three star that could be a 5 star. Pool and rooms are so new an clean. cafe prices are ridiculous. checking in was with a new guy, so grace and love is what I will say. Zero extras (coffee in room, etc...). So, prayers for the owners; so much competition on that strip of beach, so much potential, but could go under... Does that make sense?

Loved the property! But I called ahead and was assured there was a Keruig coffee maker in the room and there was not. The cafe doesn't open till 9am and the coffee unit they supply is not good. If I was told there was not a Keruig in the room , I would have brought mine.

We loved the area, the bar, the people and the seating.. just a few cons:: tv was difficult tj operate I think it was out of service, instead of the coatrack would live a dresser with a mirror over it so the ladies could do hair and makeup while others are showering.. bed was so comfy!! Shane was great at check in as well… I found the breakfast menu to be limited and prices were a bit high. Will definitely stay here again.
