Loved this quiet home away from home. Right on the river. Lovely views. Beautiful walking gardens and path. Such a peaceful vibes. Decor is beautiful. Spacious room. Coffee bar steps from room. Even coffee cake, teas, creams, and other treats and amenities. Self checkin was easy and convenient. Parking right next to entrance. Many restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. Pleasant walk along the river. The hotel has a lovely attached bar. Everything has been designed for a perfect stay.

Wonderfully welcoming owners, cozy beautifully decorated and clean room, the beds are so comfortable! Historic site with a bar that was amazing. Drinks were so good and we loved our bartender. She was a delight. As a bonus, the Rotary lights were right next door! We will be back!

Loved this property. The 2 cocktail lounges on the property are top notch and bartenders were amazing. Beautiful gardens with walking path located directly behind property are not to be missed. Free parking, drink coupons, and light breakfast made stay even better. Room was adorable! Bed and steam shower were AWESOME!! Would definitely stay again. Right next to the river and park which had a band and food trucks on Thursday night. Owners did an amazing job renovating this property!!

Exceptional. My new #1 hotel, period. Marty & Tiff have created a meticulously detailed boutique hotel experience — which feels like a personal love letter to La Crosse — in this historic fishery building on the bank of the mighty Mississippi River. While I could gush endlessly about the beauty of the room, The Eugene, I will resist and mention instead the flawless linens, heavenly mattress, views and Aveda amenities. The owners made me feel welcome minutes after reserving the room via text. Check-in was simple and autonomous but not unsupported. I texted a question and received a warm, helpful and quick response. Parking is nearby — by a lovely La Crosse friendship garden, filled with tokens from “sister cities” from around the world — but there is a load/unload area by entrance. I stayed on a Thursday night and there was a free public concert on the green with food trucks (the pizza truck’s calzone was amazing)! There was also a private event in The Hatchery’s lounge when I checked in but they sent me a drink menu and brought me a GLORIOUS cocktail with a smile. Crickets by 9 pm. La Crosse’s historic area is special. I go out of my way to visit. There is another luxurious boutique hotel nearby (my #2) so, between the people, food, events and charm this is the place to be if possible.

Beautiful lodging. Spotlessly clean. Tons of character. The bed was super comfortable. The only odd thing was the lack of interactions with any human being and there really isn’t any breakfast - just coffee, juices and some nice granola bars. Just go out for breakfast. There’s restaurants nearby.

The room was clean, the building was beautiful and the eagle-watching was superb! Aveda products and complimentary snacks and drinks was a great touch! We absolutely loved our stay and we will definitely recommend and stay in the future!

We had a wonderful two nights stay at the Hatchery . The grounds and hotel are very well kept. The owners were meticulous and making sure we were well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again.

Looooooved how quiet this place was. There was a concert in the park and we could barely hear it in our room. We stayed in the rodolphe and it was a great size. The couch was not basically pressed against the bed like in a regular hotel. Having no front desk and just 6 rooms really makes you feel like youre in your own space. Marty and tiff were very quick to text us back when we had questions as well. I need to stay here at least 5 more times to see the other rooms. That being said id stay here 100 times.

The rooms are super cool and well lit. If you like taking portrait photography the rooms are staged very well and have neutral colors that complement the subject and won't conflict with costumes. The only complaint is no storage or closet space for coats and winter clothes. The record players are fun and I took one from the lobby so I could have 2 turntables going for mixing. I left contributed some records to build the collection. This is a really fun idea because there's cheap records in all antique stores in town.

Probably the best hotel we've ever stayed at, and we've probably stayed at a minimum of 150. Literally the most comfortable beds ever in room R4. I can confidently say that it's also the quietest place we've stayed at too. Sunday night could play as a factor in that though. The surrounding friendship garden and watching the sunset over the Mississippi was amazing. If we ever come back to this area again, we'll definitely stay here.

This is a new hotel and is wonderfully located in Riverside Park along the Mississippi River in downtown La Crosse. Very comfortable rooms and great views. Incredibly comfortable beds. Great personal service by owner - that was greatly appreciated. Look forward to returning.

The Hatchery was a great unique place to stay for a quick out of town trip. While we didn't book it based upon the Rotary Lights display, it would be absolutely perfect for someone in town for that event specifically

Wonderfully welcoming owners, cozy beautifully decorated and clean room, the beds are so comfortable! Historic site with a bar that was amazing. Drinks were so good and we loved our bartender. She was a delight. As a bonus, the Rotary lights were right next door! We will be back!

Loved this property. The 2 cocktail lounges on the property are top notch and bartenders were amazing. Beautiful gardens with walking path located directly behind property are not to be missed. Free parking, drink coupons, and light breakfast made stay even better. Room was adorable! Bed and steam shower were AWESOME!! Would definitely stay again. Right next to the river and park which had a band and food trucks on Thursday night. Owners did an amazing job renovating this property!!

Very cute space along the river with excellent amenities. The interior is sleek and the bedding is very comfortable. The bartenders at the cocktail lounge were two cool dudes.

Had a beyond wonderful time during our stay at the hotel. The design of everything, attention to detail, and feel of the various spaces was so well thought out. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We loved being able to walk downstairs and wander over to the bar area, where the mixologists nailed it! We even got to experience live music in the big opening off of the bar. It was truly a lovely experience, and I would love to stay here again. P.S. the steam shower was everything in the morning, such a calming way to start the day.

The rooms were beautiful and elegant, but the mismatch of other amenities gave us an awkward feeling about our stay overall. The coffee and dining options should be much much nicer. There was a common Keurig in the hallway for everyone to share, and not a single place on site to get a real meal. Bagged popcorn and cheese mix just seemed on par with a Holiday Inn Express. I wouldn't mind the lack of these amenities if I hadn't paid $1500 to stay for two nights.

What a beautiful place! It feels intimate and private, nestled right in the middle of a beautiful garden on the river. The room was meticulously decorated, with rich colors, handsome furniture and artistic touches. The bed! OMG! So comfortable, the sheets are exquisitely soft, the pillows are perfection We enjoyed a refreshing drink in the lounge area before we walked through the park to dinner. The bartender was fun, sweet & engaging. What a perfect night - we will be back!

Beautiful lodging. Spotlessly clean. Tons of character. The bed was super comfortable. The only odd thing was the lack of interactions with any human being and there really isn’t any breakfast - just coffee, juices and some nice granola bars. Just go out for breakfast. There’s restaurants nearby.

Boutique hotel. Lovely decor. I loved that we did not have to check in a a front desk. Just out the code in and enter the building. Great communication via text from the hotel. The lounge downstairs was great too. Super clean too!

What a great property! We absolutely loved it and so close to fun restaurants and bars. I do wish the breakfast would have been more substantial. We ended up going out to a fun 80s theme breakfast a few blocks away

The Hatchery was such a great stay!! Adorable boutique hotel with stylish decor, comfortable amenities, and an overall amazing place. Super easy check in, extra perks like a Victrola in the room with vibing records paired with it, free snacks in the common area (coffee, scones, bags of chips, sodas, etc), great water pressure, and many more!!

The Hatchery is a lovely place to stay. Located on the Mississippi River, we had such a good time walking on the paths and looking at wildlife, especially the eagles. Our hosts were very accommodating and gave us great advice on places to eat & fun things to check out in the area. We would definitely stay here again when traveling to Lacrosse. Thanks Again to Marty, Tiff & and the Hatchery team for providing such a pleasant experience.
