Lovely hotel in a good location in Belfast near Cathedral quarter - club deluxe room was slightly smaller than expected. They had run out of espresso capsules in rooms but reception did offer nice coffee by room service. Bar was nice and comfortable - did not use breakfast facilities. Main gripe was the bar closed at 11pm which I found strange for a city centre hotel - this was not advertised anywhere and arriving back in at 11;15pm was annoying. But overall really nice place to stay and would recommend

Great location and lovely facilities. Staff are friendly and breakfast was top notch. A complaint about parking: they have a discounted rate but only with one provider. We went to the "wrong" parkade and paid full price twice. Yeah I know "it's on the website", but that doesn't help much when you're squinting at your phone during check in. There should be clear signage about it and proper instructions by the front desk staff.

Nice welcome - room nice and lots of space - pillows very small and lumpy - bar team very poor - unable to make the cocktail requested - it felt like they didn't usually work behind the bar and service ended at 12pm for residents with no offer of alternatives such as night porter. Nice comfortable hotel in city centre location. There is no parking available other than at a multi-storey and you will have to pay (at a slightly discounted rate) and walk. Staff are great. Bar area is lovely. Bathroom decor needs updated in places.

Excellent hotel in excellent location. Parking in Victoria square car park is discounted at the hotel. Two minute walk. Everytime we go to Belfast we try a different hotel and have liked all of them. But I will definitely return to this one. Stayed in Goliath suite. Can’t say enough good about the staff.

We enjoyed our stay here, a convenient location for links to the George Best airport and walking to Queen’s university (albeit this is a bit of a walk). The hotel was having some renovations done during our stay, but it didn’t affect us. Rooms were nice and it was quiet.

Lovely hotel. I paid extra to have a gym in the hotel though.... saying it has a gym is a stretch! Two machines in a tiny room. The room has a wooden door making me VERY uncomfortable as a female- in a tiny space. I should have booked the premier inn!!

Fun and electic decor. Staff was lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially Niel. Close proximity to everything, shopping, history, tours, and hop on hop off bus. Parking is nearby and discounted by the hotel. Highly recommend staying here while visiting Belfast.

I recently stayed at the Malmaison Hotel, which claims a 4-star standard. Check-in was simple and efficient, and the suite I was given was surprisingly spacious. However, the room was grubby, tired, and showed clear signs of wear, with furnishings and carpets both in the suite and throughout the hotel appearing worn and untidy. I was particularly disappointed to find broken glass on the bathroom floor, and the bath tap dripped continuously through the night, further disturbing sleep alongside the noise of screeching seagulls directly outside the attic suite. Having stayed here in the past when the hotel was always immaculate, this was a let-down. The property is in need of refurbishment in certain areas, though it still has the potential to be a fabulous hotel once again. On a positive note, the food in both the bar and at breakfast was terrific, and the staff service throughout my stay was excellent.

Hotel was nice, and staff were friendly, but our rooms bathroom was in poor condition. Shower door didn't shut properly, and small flush button didn't work. Grouting in bathroom was in bad condition as well.

Excellent location and beautiful heritage building. Common areas on the interior (bar, restaurant) are well kept. Room was very disappointing and had a terrible smell, both in bathroom and sleeping area. Housekeeping did not replenish items or remove used items like drinking glasses. For the rate they are charging, I would expect consistency and cleanliness.

Room was excellent, so spacious, very clean. We did not have breakfast in the hotel however we did have some cocktails the night we stayed and they were excellent also. We left and re-booked for January again . 5 stars from us.

Staff were pleasant and helpful but felt like they were understaffed and stretched, especially in the breakfast room. No water in room (didn’t mention on check out as thought it was just hotel standard, but later found out other colleagues staying in the hotel had water bottles, while other didn’t). Felt grubby and unclean. Comfy beds, spacious rooms.

Stayed in the Goliath suite and really not impressed. All the fixtures and fitting are old and tired, room not even cleaned to a high standard. There was what looked like a McDonald’s chip on one of the sofas. Fire place hanging off the wall, remote control was covered in some kind of sauce that no one had bothered to clean. Corner of floor full of dust and bits. Considering this would be one of the best rooms in the hotel it’s pretty disgusting. One thing I have to say is the staff are brilliant, friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.

Loved the atmosphere, hated the traffic noise. Stayed in rm211, which is not across the front of the hotel, but with views into the offices next door. Glazing needs to reviewed as the traffic noise give me a disturbed night sleep. Silence as the traffic lights go red, then a burst of car noise as they turn green and 40 cars roar off. Will not be back.

Stayed here 2 nights, great location to Cathedral quarter and city centre. All walkable. Hotel was a bit tired looking and room smelled a bit, also very hot. Radiator in bathroom was either cold or scalding hot but did come with a warning. Lounge area was great, nice and comfy and bar staff were all pleasant. Great happy hour and tasty cocktails. Didn’t take breakfast so couldn’t comment on that. All in all a very accessible hotel.

Stayed in the Goliath Suite. Amazing spacious room, 2 separate living room areas with sofas and TVs and also retro table top games machine. Huge bed and bathroom. Definitely worth the little extra for this room !!

This is a nice hotel. My room was comfortable, but I was staying during a heatwave, and there is no air conditioning - despite a knob in the room which seems like it would control it. The room got very hot during the day, despite not facing anything other than a building opposite an alleyway. A normal rotary fan is provided, but is quite noisy so can't have it on while sleeping. The breakfast is significantly overpriced at £23 for a hot breakfast, which is by no means large. Better to walk into town and get more for half the money. Otherwise a pleasant stay and staff were kind and helpful.

had to wait over 5 minutes for staff to attend the desk for checkin. Didn't realise there was no aircon. Room was pretty warm, had to open window, and was quite noisy outside. Music could be heard till late. Bed was good, breakfast was good. Ok hotel, but would look for somewhere else in future.

Beautiful hotel, rooms lovely and clean and modern. Whilst food was good, waiter in restaurant wasn’t good, got our orders wrong and then over charged us. Then restaurant manager kept telling him off in front of everyone to which he then laughed. So service was very poor but food was very good and bar excellent.

Amazing experience. We traveled with our newborn and they had the travel cot set up in the room as we arrived and even had a diaper genie out in the room! Best level of service! Will definitely use them again in the future.

Not recommended for business travel. We booked and pre-paid for three rooms on Expedia for the same day, when we arrived the receptionist asked if our colleagues could share rooms as they were oversold. When we decided this was not appropriate the receptionist started to call other hotels, however this took her a while and I think this should have been done in advance rather than expecting colleagues to bunk-up together by default. As a minimum they could have notified me of the issue once they were aware so we could make more appropriate arrangements at another hotel. The hotel itself is ok, it’s an old building so you can hear people in the rooms around you. Breakfast and Dinner however were excellent - definitely the redeeming feature of this otherwise creaking hotel - both administratively and structurally.

We would recommend this hotel for its excellent location. It’s close to the river for walks and only a short distance from the city centre, shopping and nightlife, making it a great base for exploring Belfast. Our room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and everything we needed. The complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits, bottled water and the 2 alcoholic drinks vouchers were genuinely appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. The main disappointment of our stay was the lukewarm welcome from the receptionist. As it was our first trip to Belfast, we arrived excited to check in, but the front-of-house experience felt flat and unwelcoming throughout. We arrived about 1 hour before checkin and politely asked to leave our bags and use the gym, but we were made to feel like an inconvenience. As the first point of contact, this was a noticeable letdown. The bar itself has a great vive and good happy-hour offers, but we experienced some inconsistency. On our first night we were told Prosecco was included in happy hour, yet it rang through at full price. We later received a refund, but it caused confusion. On another evening we tried to order food from the bar menu and were told to go to the restaurant, only to then be told the bar snacks we wanted were available after all. A really well located hotel close the centre of Belfast. Plenty of bars, restaurants, theatre and music venues within walking distance. Nice hotel with a slightly quirky personality, which is refreshing compared to the usual chain hotels. The room was spacious and clean and staff seemed pleasant and efficient. Nice cocktails and a lovely cooked breakfast too.

Beautiful hotel, rooms lovely and clean and modern. Whilst food was good, waiter in restaurant wasn’t good, got our orders wrong and then over charged us. Then restaurant manager kept telling him off in front of everyone to which he then laughed. So service was very poor but food was very good and bar excellent.

This is a nice hotel. My room was comfortable, but I was staying during a heatwave, and there is no air conditioning - despite a knob in the room which seems like it would control it. The room got very hot during the day, despite not facing anything other than a building opposite an alleyway. A normal rotary fan is provided, but is quite noisy so can't have it on while sleeping. The breakfast is significantly overpriced at £23 for a hot breakfast, which is by no means large. Better to walk into town and get more for half the money. Otherwise a pleasant stay and staff were kind and helpful.

A very friendly welcome and quick check in. Our room was lovely and large. The bathroom was relatively basic and showed some wear and tear. The bedroom. Hold have been vacuumed better. The TV was standard but struggled to maintain a steady stream on YouTube. Drinks from the bar were as expensive as you imagine hotel bars to be but were good.there seemed to be some very inexperienced staff who didn’t understand the basics. We ordered room service that was reasonably priced served quickly and was hot. A slight mixup was quickly rectified. The bed as very comfortable but had undersized and lumpy pillows. The rest of the room was very well appointed with fantastic tea and coffee facilities, nice treats and generous storage. Location wise fantastic for what we needed. We didn’t find out about recommended parking until checkout but to be fair we didn’t ask on check in. There was live music in the bar that was very audible in our room. We faced onto a traffic street but that wasn’t too bad. Breakfast was very good though their continental offering could be better and bread choices basic. A La carte for hot breakfast with high quality and hot food. Overall we loved this hotel, our 4th Malmaison property stay and not our last.

Overall our stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean. Reception staff were very friendly and professional. However, the first night we were unable to eat in the restaurant as were told by the hostess that the kitchen had run out of several dishes on the menus. Salad and soup was available! Disappointing when you then have to search for a local restaurant on a Sunday evening. The receptionist Karen, did her best to assist us. We were advised the next day that this was due to a change in menu! Certainly not good enough for a four star hotel.
