Golden Nugget Cripple Creek

Nice hotel and casino. Parking is in the back so it is a short walk to the door. Slightly misleading when booking regarding pool. Pool and hot tub is not at golden nugget, you have to drive up the hill to the sister property. We didn’t use the pool anyway so it wasn’t a big deal. I would have liked to use fitness area but it didn’t open til 8 and was also at the sister property. Bottom line we would stay here again, but the little gotchas about pool being at a different address would have been nice to know.

There was supposed to be a hot tub on site. Not the case at all!

The swimming pool wasn't at the property we stayed at. We were disappointed that that information wasn't noted on their website.

Our stay was nice, but the pool was too far away when thier pool was advertised we thought it was in the same building but it is on a whole different location.

Conveniently close to the Hotel Casino and restaurant Salt Grass inside the casino. Great views with views and watched deer from our window.

Hotel room was nice and fairly clean, however, a few small items didn't work (ie. phone and refrigerator). Staff was friendly. Property was well maintained and accessible to nearby casino/restaurants, etc. Free shuttle was great!

Listing isn’t clear that casino is not in the hotel but across the street. Pictures show pool that is at a second hotel down the road. When we went all of the TVs in the building were not working…

Very nice clean rooms. The pool was nice and big but the pool was at their sister site. The free shuttle services was easy and convenient to use. It took us to the pool and back. Our family would stay again.

There was supposed to be a restaurant on the property, but it was next door. We went to dine there but were not able to because they were short staffed. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. The property was supposed to have a pool and exercise room, but it was at another hotel about a mile away. This was totally unacceptable.

There were no microwaves in the room. No breakfast was offered. The parking lot was in the back of the hotel. Even the handicap parking was not close. The hotel is new and everything was nice and clean. There was a hot tub available but you have to drive to get to it. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful.

The room was not clean Food was stuck in the drain

Room was quite small, but adequate. Bathroom sink drain was extremely slow. Shower gel dispenser in shower was empty. Room decor was quite nice. Geena at check in was very quick and friendly.

It was clean and quiet.

The edges along the bottom of the shower and the bathroom baseboards were not clean. Everything else was very tidy and clean! Also you could NOT watch any type of tv as it was cutting out every few seconds. Everything else was great.

The bathroom shower had hair on the walls and around the soap dispenser.

The property was nice everything was good only downfall was there was blood left in the bathtub and shower walls and on the shower curtain

Where do I begin. Check in had a lady who wanted to monopolize the gentleman at the desk while the rest of us waited as she aired her grievances. Most of which he had no control over (Internet service too slow, you're in the mountains lady). My husband took our stuff up while I parked, by the time I made it up he had unloaded everything - but then discovered the room's cleanliness was questionable. The bed was made impeccably - everything else was a disaster. He should have requested a new room at that point but didn't want to be a pest. No towels, soap, coffee, water, cups - we found an employee with a cart & he loaded us up with provisions. The floor had food on it from the last guest, clearly hadn't been vacuumed, & spills on the side tables. Again, we should have just requested a new room. We even had to put liners in the trash cans - they had been emptied but that's it. The next morning, I pulled the shower curtain back to discover a waded up, used washcloth tucked into the curtain. Let's not even discuss the state of the commode. We checked out & ended up down the street staying an extra night in town just to stay at an exceptional hotel for $1 more. Well worth it.

Blood stain on pillows yuck

This was a very clean hotel, located next to the casino.

The place is great, however the TV system is horrible. Whoever decided on the totally user unfriendly system should be fired!!

Was clean and bed was good shower was nice. We had a king bed and it seemed more like a queen. And the room was tiny.

Hotel & casino are great. The only down fall is the rock hard beds.

This is our 2nd time staying here. The King sized room is very tight in quarters but we only spent the evenings in the room. Oddly the shower curtain in the shower was entirely to small. Only closed 2/3 of the way and water on the floor was inevitable. There is no "on site' restaurant. You have to walk outside and across the small street to get to the only restaurant. We had dinner there once. The staff was great but the food was so-so and it was overpriced. The casino is nice but the servers rarely come around to offer drinks. The 18 mile ride from the Interstate to the top of the mountain is stunning. Just watch for wildlife. Overall, we would stay there again.

Delayed checkin by 2 hours, tv kept locking up, (satelite issue), no receipt on checkout, (computer was down).

Front desk woman was friendly but should not have been by herself at check in yesterday. Long wait to check in. Wifi access is bad. WIFI TV IS HORRENDOUS! Couldnt get most of channels ALL OF THE TIME.

The bed was horrible. Very hard to sleep on. Extra firm. Had a bad nights sleep. The sheets with a comforter in between like a duvee but not. Sheets pulled so tight that all had to be untucked. The cooler had 2 different settings it kept coming off an on till it was changed in middle of the night. Shower was awesome. Tv remote hard to use kept going to Lassie from 1950. Pillows on bed too small for a large bed

The rooms were just okay. Bed was decent, pillows were awful. Paper thin walls, could hear everytime your neighbor flushed the toilet. Hair left in the shower from previous tenant. Not attached to the casino.

The bed was really hard and the pillows were very small and flat. Additionally, there was not a dish for the round soap in the bathroom and no makeup remover pads or other bathroom aids. Overall, disappointed in their bedding. We woke up with sore backs this morning despite paying $200.00 plus for the night…

We booked two nights but checked out after one. The walls are so incredibly thin. Our neighbor woke us up at 4:00 talking

The person who helped us check in was GREAT! Went above and beyond to help us. I became very ill and we were greatly assisted in several ways. I actually had to check out before midnight and go to the emergency room in Woodland park. We were shocked that Cripple Creek had no grocery store or drugstore or emergency surgery!

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dana offered restaurant suggestions so we enjoyed local restaurants.

Our check in was pleasant and quick and Gina made sure we got the view and shower we wanted as well as guiding me on our needs. Thank you Gina.

The customer service was awful, when we arrived for check in the front desk help was rude, when we asked for the best place to park. During our check in process the front desk got a call from a guest that was having issues with their TV, and the front desk person said, he didn’t know how to fix it and told them to try to fix it themselves. The next morning my husband when down to the front desk to ask where he could get coffee and the front desk person said they did know in a rude tone. When we were checking out the front desk person was yelling at a guest about their reservations, and that it was not her fault that the guest didn’t know how to book the correct room. Worst customer service experience I’ve had in a very long time. Hotel location was great, but do to the terrible customer service we will never stay there again and wouldn’t recommend staying there to friends and family.

Check in was a disaster as the very few rooms were ready at the 4:00 check in time. In fact I heard some weren't ready until 8:00. The cleaning staff walked out earlier in the day. The front desk did the best the could under the circumstances. I had to go back 3 times to see if a rom was available. I would think some compensation should have been offered for the huge inconvenience.

The staff was very accommodating and the rooms are great.

The hotel in itself is nice but sadly, they are understaffed. It took over an hour to check in due to there only being one person at the front desk. The showers didn’t have any shower gel or shampoo (bottles on wall were empty) that was a bit frustrating, as I didn’t bring shampoo. They did let us check out 1 hour later which was nice. I would stay again but might give somewhere else a try first.

We arrived early, about noon, maybe 4 cars in the parking lot. We had to pay $40 to check in early, even though clean rooms were available. Cheesy. Probably my last stay at a Golden Nugget hotel.

Hotel is gorgeous…remodeling beautifully! The lobby is very inviting and the staff was top notch. Our room was wonderful, extremely functional use of space and beautifully decorated. Would have loved to stay longer and would definitely return. Across the street from Salt Grass Steakhouse, which was delicious. Walking distance to multitude of local eateries and casinos.

Clean fresh and close to casino

Very nice hotel! Very clean and employees are friendly. It’s newer than most of the hotels in Cripple Creek, but a little farther away from the downtown area. However, free shuttles are available and respond quickly if you need a ride to the downtown area.

There should be a safer walk from the hotel to the casino {Perhaps an overhead covered walk way }.

The hotel itself was nice. Clean, quiet. I did have issue with the fact that the casino was in a building separate from the hotel. Granted, the building was right across a street.But if you wanted to go out in the nighttime or in the colder evening, it was inconvenient. The hotel is located at the top of a hill, about two blocks from the little strip of hotels in the city. The one shuttle that ran, which was not a hotel shuttle But a city shuttle, was not reliable as far as times. IN THE THIN MOUNTAIN AIR, IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR OUR AGE PEOPLE TO WANDER UP THE HILL. we ate at the steakhouse in the casino and it was really good food and good service. The steakhouse and all other food establishments close early so you're pretty much stuck if you didn't eat prior to coming back from the little strip area in the city. The hotel front desk lady named Dana was excellent in giving us directions and ideas for things to do in the city. If I go back to cripple creek, I don't know if I would stay somewhere else on the strip because of the quality of the Golden Nugget or if I would bite the bullet and stay up the hill. There was one other upscale hotel in town named Chamonix which was right in the center of the strip.But in looking at the price on expedia, it looks like they're about ninety dollars a night higher. The Golden Nugget price was phenomenal.

Beautiful venue with sweeping views.

Very conveniently located to just about anything you'd care to do in Cripple Creek. The staff are incredibly accommodating and the room was very nice.

We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Nugget Cripple Creek Hotel. The one star reviews are mostly about the gambling, the hotel is in great condition. Our room was very comfortable and with the blackout shades incredibly dark for deep sleeping. We had a great time walking down into town to see Cripple Creek. We are looking forward to returning again.

I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the property. It looked like it had been recently renovated. There really aren’t a lot of food options on property. There is a snack bar at the casino or a steak restaurant. A breakfast buffet on site would go a long way. The Main Street is close enough but it is down a steep hill so driving is still a better option.

The room was nice and clean. The casino was clean and fun. Then we went to dinner at the salt grass. What a horrible experience that was. The hostess ask us 3 times what time our reservation was. They were 30 min late getting us in. They offered us bread but never served it. After waiting over an hour for our food when they brought it out they then told us they were out of mashed potatoes. So we ordered a different side dish which was wrong when they brought it out. The bartender in the casino bar was so rude when she felt like we did t tip her enough. So the hotel gets 5 stars. The casino gets 3 stars and the food/bar gets 0 stars

Only problem (and this has nothing to do with them) was no breakfast or breakfast option. It’s there for the casino and we are not gamblers. Friendly staff and a lovely facility. Parking a little further away than I’d like. But, it’s the mountains. Gym and pool available at a less desirable hotel

Food was greatly LACKING. Notices everywhere to order from saltgrass online and pickup order ..easy?? NO after trying to order online for an hour, I went to saltgrass and was told by host at door they haven't had online ordering for over a year. He sent me to bar to order take out and after waiting 20 minutes NO ONE helped me. After I interrupted a girl working bar area, she said they were far too busy to take my order! Hotel had me sign paper stating I could NOT bring cooking equipment into building..no microwaves anywhere. Very disappointing and disturbing to be treated so poorly and not providing access to food! Room was worst room in the hotel. In Cripple Creek, Colorado my room was on bottom level facing a brick wall!! Unable to view mountain, town, sky, ANYTHING.

Nice clean and quit. Only option for food was salthrass. Need other options

This is not a hotel for kids. We went for the Ice Castles which is a kids event and found that there was almost nowhere to take the kids in town, and this hotel had one restaurant that is in a casino where the kids cannot be. Not to mention the restaurant was greatly understaffed, the staff were miserably overworked and the wait was HUGE everytime we needed a meal. We definitely wont be back.

Everything was fine till it was time to eat. Went to the restaurant about 5:30 pm we were told we needed to have a reservation and the soonest would be 9:00 pm, What😡 unacceptable!

We went to Cripple Creek Golden Nugget to celebrate my birthday. The property was ok. Service on the casino floor was sparse. There were few waitresses Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday there were a lot more. When we went to the casino bar, the bartender was talking to a regular and didn't look our way. We finally got her attention by interrupting her conversation. The only dining option was the Salt grass.which is a bit overpriced. Our first night we sat at the bar and had a similar experience to the casino bar whereby the bartender was rude and inattentive unless you were a regular. We waited too long for refills and when our meal arrived we were not given utensils or condiments. When we asked for these items, the bartender gave us and attitude and slammed the dish with the condiments in front of my husband. We went to the Saltgrass.for breakfast and lunch and had a much better experience. The service was fabulous at the tables. We took the shuttle to downtown Cripple Creek and the driver gave us a little tour of the town. It was wonderful. He provided fabulous service.
