Holiday Inn Express Bradford City Centre by IHG

Stayed here for 1 night on business in a double room on the fourth floor. The hotel was in a great location for where I needed to be. There are some entertainment venues in the immediate area if you want to eat/drink outside of the hotel. Hotel does not have onsite parking but the hotel is joined to a multi-storey car park that costs just £1.50 to park for 24 hours. From check-in to Check-out the staff were friendly and couldn’t do more for you. The areas of the hotel I visited (lobby, reception, bar, restaurant and room) were all clean and tidy. The weather was warm when I stayed and although having what seemed like an air conditioning control on the wall the room didn’t have any air conditioning however opening the window let a good breeze in and there was a small fan in the room that circulated the breeze. Given the hotel location near a busy road and with the window open all night noise was not an issue. The bed was comfortable, tea/coffee making facilities were as you would expect. TV was smaller than most but had a good variety of channels. I couldn’t find an in room safe so if you’re staying with valuables you might want to ask at reception if there is anything they can offer to keep valuables secure. The bathroom was clean and functional. For an overnight stay so close to where I needed to be for business this was a great location. Breakfast was good with a good range of cereals and a selection of cooked items to build your own cooked breakfast.

Not the best, to be honest. Only one lift working, and that was temperamental - not great when you have mobility issues and stairs are a challenge! Keycard system works - eventually - but is another source of frustration. Breakfast coffee machine kept running out of mugs, and delivered black coffee instead of latte and hot water instead of hot chocolate. Rooms were short on power sockets/charging points. Staff were helpful - but the hotel itself is badly in need of a refresh/refit.

We did not like the fact that Holiday Inn Express did not provide FREE parking for its guests. It was difficult locating the multi storey car park.

Location is not clear how to get to the hotel. Your directions needs updated.

Average stay . Lift broken the whole stay for the week . On 4th floor stairs all the time not ideal. Conflicting information on late checkout by staff. Overall room good . Have to pay £10 per week for parking in a multi-storey no use if you have a work van. Only for car use . Good location for city centre . Complimentary breakfast

The hotel is in a good central location though slightly tricky to find on Google maps. You need to park in the multi storey car park to the left on the George Street, which is only £1.50 for 24 hours stay. Park on the 4th floor as that's where the hotel is. The hotel itself is quite run down and there was a weird smell throughout the hallway. You require a card key to enter your room and the hallways. This card was terrible as it took several attempts each time to register on the readers. The beds in the room were very flimsy with no support. The bathroom had a dripping tap and the walls are very thin. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good though but there were many people there and it was hard to navigate to the food stations.

Very clean room, the staff were very nice and friendly, the breakfast was very good. Could not fault the parking, multi storey car parking leading straight on to the concourse of the hotel and cinema complex also to include bowling, nando's, pizza hut and very close to the city centre.

The signage of the premises from distance is invisible & parking facility nearby caused me considerable inconvenience as it was not suggested anywhere on the booking information which car parking is more suitable or near to the hotel. I parked at distance and had to carry my luggage whilst heavy raining. No signage at the rear coming from the car park. Thanks.

Next time we visit Bradford to see family we will book in at this hotel again, but I have two observations to mention. First - there are plenty of parking spaces which includes a covered multi story that, at the time of writing (Feb 2025) costs £1.50 for 24 hours. Second - The rooms are cleaned each day to a good standard, but the carpet in our room looked grubby and stained.

Very little sleep to be had due to the tiredness of the hotel loud terrible creaking floors, banging doors and noise from the family’s that are clearly being housed throughout the hotel. Room was disgusting, covered in stains, and smelly. Remnants where someone had deficated in the corner of a stairwell Breakfast terrible no fresh fruit apart from some old apples in a fish and some tinned compot

Was a lovely experience, all staff- at reception, and at breakfast were ever so friendly; excellent breakfast choice; rooms were spacious and clean;

Centrally located. Car park next door at reasonable rates. The rooms had no air conditioning. Musky smell in the hotel. Stains on the carpet and sofa. Very off putting. Very noisy outside. Safety windows so can’t open too much. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. Staff were very friendly.

Stayed three nights but sadly no cleaning in the room was done. Cleaners didn't even bother going into the room to change towels, hoover, clean, provide sachets of tea, coffee, milk, run out of toilet paper. However the duty manager Gen was very good passed on the complaint but the cleaning department never reacted.

The room was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially the kind lady who helped me with breakfast.

Staff were great, room was good size. Cleaning of the room was not great used tissues and rubbish under the beds. Windows were closed and cold breeze still came in. Phone wasn’t working and taps broken

Really nice clean room. Good reception area with helpful staff. Great breakfast included. Overall starting to look a little dated and not many food choices around the hotel.

The stay at the Holiday Inn Bradford was overall, good. The room was nice if a little dated, but there were no plug sockets near the bed, and the room was very warm. There was a little fan supplied, but as there were not many sockets in the room, we couldn't use the fan as our phones were charging. We also had to close the windows due to traffic noise. The breakfast buffet was nice, the staff were friendly and the hot food was always topped up. Unfortunately a family of Africans were grabbing handfuls of pastries and muffins with no care for hygiene. They took all the muffins, and as fast as the staff refilled them, they straight away emptied the shelves until they had 2 carrier bags full. The management warned them, but they were just ignored, and carried on grabbing all the muffins. It spoiled the breakfast for some of the guests, as they were unable to get muffins, and didn't want to eat food that had been handled. I probably wouldn't stay here again for that reason.

Shower was so low on heat as it was not working fully Heating on wall was out of order and got a fan for the room as it was cold in room

The room had one power point a lond way from the bed. I have sleep Apnea and had to use my own extention lead to reach my machine. I was also unable to charge my Mobile that I use as an alarm this could only be done on the desk, again a distance from where i slept.

I hate leaving negative reviews but I feel this one needs to be left! The room was nothing fancy, but that’s to be expected. However there was no was to control the temperature in the room, as the controls are locked & only tell you what the temperature is. Also, the windows are sealed so can’t be opened! The old broken fan in the room doesn’t help much either. So at 2am while I was struggle to sleep due to noise & heat, at least I could see on the thermostat that it’s 26 degrees in the room! As I mentioned the window doesn’t open, so no fresh air, but it also appears to be single glazed, so does nothing to remotely muffle any traffic from the busy road outside! The WiFi has to be the slowest I’ve ever used, I could have walked to the closet pub out side, logged into their WiFi before any pages loaded on the hotels WiFi! At breakfast, the cutlery was barely cleaned, every knife & spoon in the self serve area was disgusting, with bits of last nights food stuck on them. The dishwashers aren’t working properly obviously and no one checked them before putting the cutlery back out. The staff were friendly in any interaction I had with them, but other than that, I can find no positive thing to say about my stay here. Unfortunately it wasn’t just my experience either, as I spoke to 2 different guests as I was checking out who had identical experiences to me! It really was abysmal, I can’t recommend it in any way at all!

The hotel is fine,only issue for me was,being on the 4th floor,couldnt sleep due to noise of traffic,you would think there was a window open but there wasnt ,to noisy,need proper sound proofing windows,breakfast,staff etc excellent just the room noise a big let down

The room didn't have electrical sockets either side of the bed. My partner has a sleep apnea machine which needs to be plugged in next to the bed. Approached reception about it and was told that all the rooms are the same and the staff didn't have a spare extension lead so the only option was to move the bed to the other side of the room where there was just one socket that didn't work properly that I ended up having to report back to reception. The breakfast offerings were just bacon, beans and scrambled eggs and I felt there should have been more hot cooked items like tinned tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns. Apart from the above problems, the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Poor internet in my room

Great stay. Only niggles were no a/c and we stayed during a heatwave so I was unable to sleep. There was however desk fan but it didn’t help. Also not enough electrical points.

This accommodation has no Aircon in the room and windows can’t be opened. On arrival it was 27 degrees in the room. A fan was provided but couldn’t sleep as too hot. Rooms are tired and carpet is awful. Book elsewhere for a better stay

The stay itself was fine. I forgot my watch that had sentimental value and in trying to get it back I had to deal with lies from the staff, paying over £23 in p&p for week and half before being told actually we never recovered your watch, we're sorry nothing we can do!! Plain and utterly rude! You can sure be I'll never stay with this hotel again!!! Definitely logging a complaint.

The first receptionist who checked me in wasnt very helpful he failed to inform me of their brrakfast and wifi availability even he told other guests. However the second receptionist was very polite when i had to change rooms because the one which had been offered wssnt suitable, the second receptionist was courteous and kind even lent me his umbrella , i could say he went the extra mile.

The manager on shift when we checked was amazing and the process was smooth. We saw the same manager on shift Saturday evening, we had some drinks at the bar, watched her and the colleague she was with smoothly deal with customers checking in/out and still having a natter with us. Super team saturday 29.03.25, made our stay very pleasant 😊

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Bradford City Centre and had a mixed experience. The staff were helpful and quickly replaced our room after I fell due to a broken bed in the original one, which I appreciated. However, the incident was quite unpleasant and highlighted the need for better room maintenance. The hotel itself feels quite old and tired, especially the furnishings. The beds are in serious need of upgrading — not very comfortable and, in our case, even unsafe. The building could definitely benefit from some refurbishment to meet the standard expected from a brand like IHG. Another issue was that the property was difficult to find, especially for first-time visitors. Better signage or clearer directions would really help. Overall, decent service and a convenient location, but the facilities need attention. Hopefully, improvements will be made in the near future.

For a family wedding over the weekend. Can not thank the front desk and restaurant staff enough. Everyone of them helpful, caring and courteous, a credit to your hotel.

This hotel is situated next to Bradford Interchange Railway Station and has neighbors such as a cinema, bowling alley, and a number of well known food outlets. The hotel is a five minute walk from the Bradford Centre and is perfect for commuting to Leeds if the hotels their are over priced or not convenient. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is clean and comfortable as well as being fairly decent value with the added bonus of a breakfast on site included in the price.

Very central location with good access to the road and train network.

Friendly staff, nice room quiet with radiator with temperature control. all clean and tidy, great budget hotel option. Nice breakfast (I pre ordered my preferred veggie sausages, as they cook them to order and this takes a while) and they were ready in morning which meant I had a relaxed pleasant breakfast with no worries about time.

Hotel is okay and located close to the train station so easy to get around. Unfortunately, the breakfast was dreadfully chaotic. I appreciate that it was busy, but the amount of guests staying could not have been a shock, surely??? On each day of our stay, there were three to four breakfast items missing...a different combination each day. Bacon, sausages, scrambled egg, tomatoes, hash browns, orange juice, croissants etc. A combination of those items each day. We were told it was their suppliers, but I did wonder if it was simply cost cutting. I did point out that there was a Tesco 2 minutes walk away. When breakfast items ran out, bacon for instance ( if indeed it was a day they had it on the menu), there was usually a long wait to replenish it. If you'd already got something else on your plate, it'd be cold by the time whatever you were waiting for, arrived. There were not enough staff to look after the guests and the staff they did have were rushed off their feet. We were booked for four nights, including NYEve, but returned home without staying for the last night.

Possibly the worst hotel experience we have had. Took half hour to get in the room. Breakfast was awful. No juice, no bacon, no egg., no cutlery but was offered water!!!! Will definitely not stay in this hotel ever again.

Much better and bigger showers than most hotels. Free breakfast was fantastic. Appreciated having a microwave. Keycard always worked. Some hotels dont. Incredibly nice and friendly staff.

Location is great for Bradford and the railway station for reaching Leeds. Parking close by for £3.50 for 24 hours. Staff were great and the room a good size for a family if 4. The bed and sofa bed were ok could could be more comfortable. Only disappointing thing was breakfast. Really poor sausages, apple juice tasted like cordial with loads of added sugar and the overall range was a bit limited. Felt like the whole stay was good value but they cheapest out with breakfast. Would stay again

Whilst experience was average, it is poor that you run out of cooked breakfast even though it has 2 hours to go. This is the first time I have experienced this for those including breakfast as part of their rate

My friend and I only stayed 1 night and had no trouble finding the hotel, Joanne, was on reception for when we arrived, what a lovely welcoming lady, even lent me a plug for my charger (her own!) as I had forgotten mine, though there are the points on the tv for charging. The breakfast was lovely but unfortunately my friend missed out on the "proper" cooked breakfast as it had run out, and breakfast had been really busy, but overall would stay there again, if I am in Bradford, would recommend this Holiday Inn and it was reasonably priced for the twin bedded room we had.

The paintwork needed attention, around the bed there was white looked like talc. Bed very hard. Staff friendly and good breakfast . Easy parking and only £1.50 Close to shopping centre
