Great remodel of historic bldg. No bar, but cool place. no ice

It has been months and the luggage cart is still broken. That means multiple trips up and down. My wife and I are both senior citizens. They should buy 2 new ones.

The Good: Room was clean and had a nice view of the golf course. The Bad: The safe didn’t work and the hallways hadn’t been vacuumed either day we were there. Overall: Need a clean safe place to stay with no frills? This is your spot.

We stayed on 2nd floor. No elevator to 2nd floor. Our room was recently renovated, but the renovations were not done well. Room was extremely small and functionality was poor. For example, no shelves, towel bars or hooks in the bathroom. The counter around the sink was only about 3 inches in width. No aerator on faucet so water splashed everywhere.

I just returned from a 12 night stay at The Golfer's Inn due to a famiy member being at a local hospital. I could not have asked for a better stay. The front desk staff was amazing and very caring. If you need anything in your room just as them and they will provide it for you quickly. My room was extremely clean, had a comfortable bed, microwave, mini fridge,wet bar, and a coffee maker. There was plenty of parking even on nights that they are sold out. Everything needed to have a very comfortable stay. The hotel also had a very nice lobby area that would be nice to relax in during the evenings, and also an incredible outdoor courtyard. I highly recommend The Golfer's Inn, and will definitely stay there again if/when I'm in the area.

I liked the mid-century vibe. It appears that it is in the middle of a "freshing up". I think the carpeting must be replaced...so many stains and dirty looking. The lobby needs to be warmed up a little. The broken coffee vending machine should be taken out. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was fine, although the bathtub fixtures were not screwed in at all. The bath shower curtain had mold on the bottom. Hopefully, the owners/management will continue to put money into the refurbishing and maintenance of The Goldfer's Inn.

Loved the location in an area with no other hotels. Very unique and creative building with golf decor. Parts are dated but some upgrades as well like bath sink. Small room and bath but beds were comfortable. Large nice patio with lots of seating. A nice change from bland chain hotels - felt like we were in another country. Desk staff was very accommodating.

Parking safe and easy, friendly staff, only concern would be that the establishment has “no smoking” signs throughout and the hallways reek of cigarette smoke. Room itself was comfortable and did not smell.

The bed was very comfortable however the room was extremely dirty, dead bugs everywhere, hair ( not mine) in the sink and tub. Never staying there again!

The property was okay, but the rooms were not clean. The floors were sticky and the tub was dirty.

There were mouse droppings on the sleeper sofa mattress, hair on bathroom floor and the sheets had obviously not been washed. There was hair, fresh stains and soiled linens on the bed. The staff was very helpful and kind, and put us in a new room without question. However, mice were present in the new room as well. Overall, no.

The bed had stains, there were spider webs on the appliances and a horrible smell in the halls. Staff was unpleasant and wouldn’t even give me a new set of sheets.

The decor was kitschy and interesting. There was ample parking. The location was quiet and felt safe. The hotel has a foul odor, like a musty basement, in the hallway and rooms. We also had a cockroach in our room. The cleanliness wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t horrible. The front desk staff was pleasant. It was an OK stay.

The pictures and reviews are no way close to being honest representations of this motel. Run down-sticky floors-walls with stains-broken phones-stained sheets. I had planned on staying 2 nights bir checked out the next morning. Front desk staff showed zero interest in my concerns about room issues. There are no way the reviews are real on my opinion. Book at your own risk

I saw previous reviews about mice but am happy to say that we did not see any. There were a TON of traps all around though. The hotel backs up to a creek and golf course so it makes sense to have mice or other animals around. The room was spacious to spread out. However, it didn’t seem well cleaned. The rug looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed for a bit and the floor seemed sticky when walking around in shoes. The pillows were very thin and seemed old. I hate waking up from neighbor mouse and that did not happen here! Yay! The fan/AC was loud enough that we did not wake from any outside noise which was a huge plus for us! Fine to stay for a couple of nights.

The mouse in the room ruined an otherwise decent stay.

We expected to be moved in to a rental but the moving company didn't arrive. So we booked into the hotel based upon price and proximity. Bizarre is the only way to describe the wall with astro turf and plastic plants stuck to random sections, weird garish carpets, and a lobby that had outside seating by no services. Complained of rats/mice at the end of the room that kept us up the first night and someone did sort that out. Very basic amenities, and it appeared that the room had had some basic rough repairs. There was no functioning fan in the bathroom, no hangers, no towel rails or hooks, paint was rough, no place to put anything in the room. Door frames and edging unfinished, etc. Housekeeping would straighten the room on request but hallways and other public areas remained unvaccumed. The same food stains and fruit that was ground in the hallway carpets remained as it was.

Clean room. Quiet. Great price. Staff was friendly as sell.

Thin walls

I grew up near this property wnd watched it fall into didsrepair until it was abandoned and derelict. I have family a few minutes way and they told me wbout the renovations. They gutt3d the building and rebuilt it from the studs out. Our room was very comfortable and clean. They are still working on the lobby, but it is really n8ce now. For golfers, you can see the course from some of the rooms! All in all, a n8ce quiet place to stay. Not far from dining and shopping.

Check n was easy but the room needed repairs. The door handle was coming off in the bathroom. Exposed wires by bed lights where panel was missing to cover wires. TV kept flicking. Also court yard light shined in room all night so they definitely need heavier curtains to block out the light.

It looks and feels cheap - like a Motel 6 (or maybe a Motel 5). Garish, not so clean. Updated on top of old stuff. Paint from fixing it up on the floor.....

This was a surprisingly solid stay. I will state the obvious upfront: The vibe of the place is super weird, like there was a discount at a craft store and the owner bought every golf-related item and attached it to the walls. (There is literally astroterf on every pillar, a faux flower filled stairwell, and every piece of “art” is golf-themed.) I was not expecting much, but I was so pleasantly surprised!! The customer service was excellent (front desk was so kind and helpful, even late night), the premises were spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was quiet (on a random Monday at least). Parking was easy, I felt safe as a solo traveler, and there were a number of unexpectedly nice finishes in the shower and bathroom. The building is definitely old, but obviously well-kept with inconsistent renovations (nice lobby and new carpet but fire door paint is peeling and possibly older than me?). The decor is like golfers Disneyland, a blistering green and orange-yellow palette incredibly committed to a theme, but I had a lovely stay and would book again if I am in the are. It wasn’t fancy but much nicer than I expected for the price. Perfectly function for a short stay. Thanks, Golfers Inn!

Not much to say, it ok, decore little tacky, wacky. The court yard is lit up all night, curtain don't block light and was little much. I like dark to sleep.

The lobby was beautiful and my 12 y/o son kept telling me how fancy it was. The rest of the hotel seemed very DIY. The paint wasn’t even and neither were the wall murals. The door was a bit hard to shut and some of the areas in the hall and floors seemed unfinished. Fixing those things could make it really lovely. It was safe and clean which is my number one concern staying in a hotel. The only real problem I had was with the light in the room at night. There is a courtyard in the middle of the hotel that is intensely brightly lit and the window of our room was facing it. The curtains were not blackout and allowed enough light into the room that I was able to walk through the room with ease. I had a difficult time sleeping and had to cover my head with blankets. Luckily we were only there one night to visit a specialist at the children’s hospital. But a good night’s sleep would have been nice.

For a night- yes For 6 nights- no Room had no closet, no hooks in bathroom, nowhere to hang a towel or a shirt, it smelled musty, however, we slept well (beds comfortable) and toilet and shower were in good working order.

For the price, it’s not a bad stay for a night or two. Nice view of the surrounding golf course. Front desk was nice. The hotel appears to be renovated somewhat recently, but wasn’t done that well. Lots of mouse traps in the stairwell. Room did not have blackout curtains, so the parking lot lights did shine through during the night.

Customer service was above and beyond and I would return for that alone. The hotel itself is a bit older and has some quirks, but was very clean and next to a huge golf course so the scenery was great. Hot water and water pressure were great which is always something that's a big deal for me. The curtains are not black out curtains so you do get some early morning light in the room, but definitely not a deal breaker.

The facility is run down and dated. The room was clean but sheets stained. Bathroom well furnished. The front desk people were excellent. We didn’t get expected maid service and when we asked the person vacuuming the hallway at least for two. Towels, we were told we had to go to front desk. No apology. Convenient location.

Stayed here for a concert at the Mann. Was quiet and clean and close to the venue. Staff was very kind and helpful. Would visit again.

WHAT a pleasant surprise this location was. I had a last-minute requirement to show off at work in Philadelphia and I ended up staying here on a recommendation. From the moment I arrived the front desk, clerk was pleasant and accommodating, and the lobby smelled wonderfully clean and welcoming. I’m a stranger to “budget hotels“ and didn’t expect much, but the room the hallways, and all the rest of this experience here has been excellent. I will be staying here again in the future when I need lodging in the area. Please come and check them out, it’s a phenomenal bargain for the money!

Upon arrival king room had towels for 1 person. I had to get more towels for 2 people in king room. I asked for room service and they never came. Stayed 3 nights and had to get clean towels every day myself at the front desk along with shampoo etc. Front desk stated they had 16 rooms to clean so they could not get to my room! 3 night stay. No where to hang or put a wash cloth or towel in bathroom. No hooks or shelves in bathroom. Also they never took any used towels out of room so they were piled up. I wanted to carry the dirty towels to front desk and they said NO!

Clown hotel. Literally none of the electrical outlets in our room worked. At all. No lights in the room worked, except the overheads by the door, because they were plugged into the outlets that weren't connected. Was it a fuse? I don't know because staff acted like it wasn't a big deal. The mgr said if we had come back downstairs immediately after arriving at 5 am and told them there was no electricity (and also no wastebasket in the room, and the sink also did not drain and there was no hand soap or anything) then they would have moved us to a different room and it would have been fine. When we came down first thing in the AM mgmt said well you slept in the room so you took responsibility for that... Horrible customer service. Looks like they spent too much money on ugly colors of paint and fake plants to actually hire an electrician during the remodel. Also, pay your housekeeping staff more plz and provide them with support so that they can actually take care of the rooms and inform you when rooms like this have a bunch of broken stuff. I didn't even try to shower in this hotel bc I just wanted to leave ASAP. No breakfast or anything fresh to eat and no hot water or coffee available in the lobby, just empty space and couches. Front desk is often unattended and there is no way to contact staff, wait or walk around the halls searching... Hskping also has no way to reach them. 8 times out of 10 main phone line is unanswered. Stay in Montgomeryville Hampton and drive instead...

Used safe that was advertised and available in the room. After 2 use the safe wouldn’t work even though I was using the correct code. When I reported the issue. I was told it would be my responsibility to pay for a locksmith. When I refused to pay, I was told I would not be allowed to use the property in the future.

This property was a delightful surprise. We needed somewhere to stay for an early flight and drove by it on the way. Clean and very well lit bathroom and the beds were comfortable. Very reasonable, hospitable staff at the front desk and helpful when we were looking for food options. It has a great outdoor space we would have used if we stayed longer. Free parking is hard to find in Philly so that was a welcome surprise as well. Very close to St. Joesph University and a easy 20 minute drive to the airport. We will stay again when my child returns from being abroad for the night.

This is a clean, friendly, safe, comfortable hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the price was very reasonable. We were visiting St Joseph's University, and the Golfers Inn location was very convenient for us. I really got a kick out of the fun decor! Highly recommended! 😀

It’s a nicely tucked away property near Haverford College. Proximity to the college campus was of foremost importance to me. Although the property doesn’t have dining options on site, it is in close proximity of multiple options nearby. The staff was super helpful to me.

Hospitable staff welcomes me for a stay on the property’s gorgeous grounds. The room was good but no frills. Note - there are no sidewalks to walk around, including to public transport or the nearby gas station for toiletries. Getting Ubers was no problem though.

Cute, old fashioned motel. The family that owns it is very friendly. Clean. Really comfortable room and bed. Convenient to Philly center, but don't expect to be going for long walks once you get there. It only took us 20 minutes driving to get to University City. I would stay again.

Overall good for the price! There are a few restaurants down the street and a few fast food places as well.

We chose this property because it was in close proximity for an early medical appointment the following day. The only staff member (related to the owner) we met was very courteous & helpful. There is no restaurant of pool if that’s a requirement. That said, the property was very clean & comfortable for 1 nite. My only complaint is when I visited the Hotel.com site that evening, the member price (which I am), dropped from $130 to $116/nite.

The only disappointment was that they ran out of coffee.

There was no coffee or bottled water available. A coffee maker was in the room but no coffee was provided and the machine in the lobby was out of service. The decor was colorful but bathroom was shabby with a heavily stained shower curtain. Floors appeared unvacuumed but bed was clean. Door to room did not have the usual secondary security lock. Overall it was an okay place to stay one night and was convenient for our purposes, but I would not return and would not recommend.

Stay somewhere else! This was absolutely the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed it. The floors were filthy, the mirror was covered in spots and there were stains on the light shades and chairs. The shower towels didn't smell or feel clean, the shower itself didn’t drain and the shower curtain was dirty. The window doesn’t have light blocking curtains or blinds and faces a “courtyard” that has bright lights on all night. There was a coffee machine in the room but there were not supplies to use it, not that I would have based off the cleanliness of the hotel itself. The staff was unfriendly when I called and when we arrived. Where you’re suppose to park behind the building were piles of bedsheets, pillows and other supplies. Absolutely awful, stay away from this hotel.
