Haven Hotel

Where the hotel was situated was lovely with access to the private beach. The staff were a little slow and unattentive. The pool has a bar but for beer you have to walk to other end of the hotel which is very odd. Nice and clean and breakfast i cannot fault, would stay again.

Fantastic hotel, close to the chain ferry and bus services, beauitful sea veiws, on the beach amazing spa and out door heated pool, fantastic service, cant fault it, what a gem, also dog friendly

We arrived to a car park full and nowhere to park,hotel very dated and surrounding area very disappointing,also entrance to hotel very hard to find,I was unwell during stay and not eating,my husband was unable to order a sandwich or anything for his lunch as nothing available

The Spa pools were cold and hot tub and outside pool closed without notice or explanation so no facilities Room was miles away from reception upstairs with no lift would be difficult for older guests which seem to predominate

Just a few days away, lovely hotel on a fantastic location. Room was really nice and spacious, the only thing that let it down was the water pressure (or lack of) so having showers was pretty useless. Made use of the pools etc which were heated so even when the weather was not great, managed to get some swim time in. Would definitely go back.

Good value for money. Amazing location. The only downside during our stay was the fact that the indoor pool was out of action. I would stay there again.

Nice veiws in lounge and restaurants. Dissapointed with no veiw from room.and problems a few times with lift not working

Shame it is not made clear that one part of the hotel does not have access by lift. Very inconvenient and difficult for elderly residents.

This is an iconic hotel and should be visited. Staff were helpful and usually have a smile for you. Our bedroom was generous and we had a wonderful view of the entrance to Poole harbour with an ever changing vista.The lounges and dining room also share that vista. Only two criticisms - the showers in the spa are dreadful and the evening service in the restaurant is slow. There are some external areas that look a bit tired but when you consider that the owners are planning to demolish the hotel to make way for 196 apartments it is not too surprising.- this would be a travesty and a destruction of Poole/Sandbanks heritage. Make sure you visit before this happens.

Love this hotel ,perfect location right by the harbour and ferry to Swanage.Spa ,indoor and outdoor pool ,which leads to the beautiful beach Restaurant food and service is top class,with the best sea views.I don’t like going to places twice,but this hotel keeps drawing me back.

Only stayed 1 night, but a beautiful hotel, good comfortable clean room

great location, but our feeling is its an old tired hotel, we had basic room but was musty smelling and found dirty i had a dirty pillow cases, so had to sleep with one pillow, It was a very hot night, but window only open slightly, so no air, we did find a fan in cupboard, which helped. The beds are not very comfortable. Breakfast is self service, nothing to write home about, but adequate and you can eat outside with great views. Not great value for the money! but hopefully the better sea view rooms are better & cleaner.

The toilet kept blocking up even when not being used.The maintenance guy came twice but as soon as he left it was blocked again.We had to use the ones downstsirs by the lift. The shower had no power at all absolutely useless. The bed had a spring sticking out on the left hand side. Had to ask for the coffee cups to be washed every breakfast. Hotel just neads a bit of T L C Hotel very nice pool etc perfect.

Property had excellent sea views. Our room a deluxe double with sea views was only adequate. The toilet had not been cleaned properly and the flush was weak which meant we had to unplug it each time with a plunger. The room and entire hotel was tired and the bathroom in our room defintely requires a refit. The dining room in the evening lacked atmosphere and was cold. No heating was on in the communal areas. The restaurant at the sister Harbour Heights hotel was far superior and had more menu choices.

Like the veiw from our balcony. When we arrived we found that we had a cracked basin in the bathroom.

Stayed in a budget room. Very clean add comfortable. Good value for money. The terraces were lovely with fantastic views. Easy access to the beach .i hope this hotel stays on this site for many more years I would love to return.

Room needed updating was in room 300 shower not working, and taps of bath were sooo old hard to turn on, flush not the best, worked some times, not what I expected, the cost of basic room £211 expected better, dirty towel oldsie window, and dirty water glass

Beautifully located hotel with great terrace overlooking the sea. Room was spotless and well maintained with quality furniture.

It’s a lovely art deco style hotel in a great location. Lovely and light and airy with high ceilings and wide stairways and corridors. Access to a sandy beach and views to Knoll beach and Shell Bay on Purbeck. Right next to the chain ferry which is brilliant and gives you quick easy access to the above and Studland. We had a lovely room but it was on the third floor with no lift access to the third floor and a really long walk to get to it. It was also very hot with no air con. I had to ask for a fan and lighter bedding, which was delivered to the room. The staff were lovely and really helpful. Would recommend a stay here.

We booked a room that was discribed as a Economy Double Room, Courtyard View on your website, When we arrived the room had a view that was a waal a couple of feet away, see photo's. When I politely asked the reception if there was a room that had a courtyard view I was hold I had booked a budget room with no view, after showing them my booking discribing the room I was told this is what I booked. Rather than let it spoil my holiday I said "OK fine" and walked away, only to hear the receptonist who thought I couldn't hear say to her colleague 'What does he expect when he books a budget room'. This I found extremely disrespectful and returned to the reception to say I had heard what she said, the receptionist then got quite aggressive and said 'You have a room that you booked and we're not doing anything to get you another room' I tried not to let this spoil my stay at the Haven Hotel but unfortunately it did

Lovely hotel, lovely room and balcony.

Traditional style hotel with amazing views particularly from our room with a large balcony and views of the harbour and its islands. A hotel which we understand may be gone in a few years making way for a new development which will be a shame but with land prices in this vicinity what else would you expect, polite staff, clean and comfortable room although I’m not a fan of over bath showers but it did its job ! Breakfast very good with plenty to choose from, continental or a full English with everything in between. Would I stay again, yes I would, enough said !

Value for money isn’t great. The rooms were tired and outdated. No view from our room window and no air conditioning so the room becomes an expensive sweat box. They could well do with putting some money back into this hotel as overall it looks tired. The breakfast was okish. Nothing special that you wouldn’t get from a Premier Inn. The views once in the lounge are lovely so I guess this is what you’re paying for. Overall I give it an average score because there was nothing special which for the price was disappointing. Spend some of the profits on the building and it may improve the score.

3rd floor room had a stunning view !

The hotel is actually quite nice, the restaurant, food and drinks are good and the view is amazing. Just DO NOT stay in the 'dungeon room' as we nicked named it. For those booking with a 3rd party organisation, they automatically put you in the worst room, no natural light except windows that open onto the hotel air conditioning plant which roars all night. They know this is a bad 'dungeon room' and if you book direct with them they automatically offer you a free upgraded room. Very disappointing - this room should be used as a store room NOT A GUEST BEDROOM. Although the room was clean and bed comfortable - think about it - people need to have fresh air and even if it is a view of the carpark it has to be better than a brick wall and air con plant roaring all night long!!!!

Rooms were lovely and tidy and comfortable very clean. Seaview room was amazing tea coffee facilities were good in the room and the reception was good when we asked for more milk. We ate at the restaurant. The food was really lovely and the bar was great atmosphere lovely and chilled

Beautifully located but extremely dated hotel. The room felt like a nursing home. There was zero water pressure in the shower. The breakfast was quite poor. Everything felt cheap and dated

We had a balcony room, overlooking the sea and harbour , view and location was excellent, hotel very tired , could be magnificent, and obviously as been in the past , staff very hit and miss, reception staff was lovely, restaurant staff was lacking , was going to have dinner one night in the hotel , so stood waiting to be seated , staff did acknowledge we was there , but kept us waiting that long we ended up eating out , I would understand, if they had been very busy ,but they really wasn’t.i also don’t understand there dress code , very shabby, faded jeans , track suit bottoms t shirts not a very professional look for staff , and that carried through with there lack of service, menu could have been a lot better, Pool and spa staff was lovely , outside drinks bar was added bonus

We booked room a year in advance for Sandpolo. We get there hour early(about 2 pm ish), so get told room not ready yet, said to us have to wait for room to be ready at 3 pm. (My mum and my sister already got their room and they get there about 1 pm!) So it’s fine, we went to bar to have drink waiting for room at 3 pm. Went to check at 3 pm and get told room still not ready! Will be another half hour! And we not happy about it as already told them we need to go to Sandpolo by 4 pm! We need to shower and get change etc. reception told us that we can go to get ready at Spa changing room and nothing she can do about it!!! Seriously we paid nearly £300 per room and she want y us to go shower and get ready for Sandpolo in changing room!! We are really disappointed so much. As hotel us not cheap hotel, but service is very low level! By 3.15 pm, reception still said nothing else she can do! She will asked if cleaner can get room done in 5 min!! ( which is should be like that before 3 pm check in!) So we get room about 3.20 pm! Oh she did offer refund 20% to us but we not ok with that. We need our room to be ready by time!Walked in to room 113, all we smell is worse cleaner armpits!! I know they rushing to clean room but those smell should never let customers experience when stay!! It was really bad and both feel sick in toilet !! Our room had only 2 small top window that can open! So have to hurry get change and leave room! End up with we got no time to shower and get ready proper

The location is the reason we stayed here. Right next to the beach where we could just chill. Room was comfortable and as expected. The building is dated The evening bar staff were distracted by their mobile phones & their service was appalling. Training needs to be given to make the customer experience better. We did eat an evening meal there-won’t so it again, food wasn’t great, too slow to receive the food (olives and bread took over 20mins to arrive). Charged us a 10% service charge which we weren’t aware of until after we’d paid….as service was poor I asked for it to be refunded. Breakfast staff were friendly very helpful and seemed to be happy to be there.

Poor customer service from the unhelpful receptionist when I checked in that bordered on rude.

I love the location of this hotel, very special. The staff were friendly & helpful, but it seemed they were a little overwhelmed, not enough of them in. Also the bar ran out of some stocks of pineapple juice & limes used in some of the cocktails, that shouldn't happen.

There was a slight hiccup with my room, but they very kindly sorted it out. As ever the stay was lovely, I just need to let them know of my difficulties with stairs, which is why I was moved to nearer the lift. Great service by everyone.

Sea view wonderful! Staff slow to respond and sometimes forgot about us in the restaurant or not in reception when required which was disappointing. Lady in reception on the phone for ages this morning when we wanted to check out so we gave up and left our key cards on the desk. Not good!!

Absolutely beautiful area. Good place to stay to explore the area. Restaurant excellent, all staff friendly. Would stay again. Really comfy bed.

We had a pleasant stay at the Haven; the room was quiet and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great for the ferry and a short drive to Poole and Bournemouth.

Had three nights B&B Location is amazing with boats ships going past all day right by the beach and Ferry. The hotel looks a bit tired in places. The front would look a lot nicer with a few flowers in the pots. Breakfast was fine normal hotel fare. Dinner was fine although a bit pricey .Went to sister hotels for Italian and Chinese Better value. Would return to hotel due to location but would like a balcony in what was superb weather

Superb location

Location location lication. This is a lovely hotel with helpful staff and great food. The beakfast buffet is amazing. Everything is good quality. What sets it aside from other high quality hotels is the location. It's like being on a ship. The sea views are fantastic. This is the best hotel I've stayed in and I've stayed in a few!

Very enjoyable, hotel breakfasts good, hotel dinner choices poor, harbour heights Chinese meal excellent.

The location is superb and the spa and pool facilities good, however the hotel service was unprofess ional with untrained staff. Furthermore the bar cocktails were appalling and there were no nibbles available.

Fabulous location on the beach. Lovely menu with vegan options that's not the usual burger and chips then sorbet.

Had the most wonderful time. Also had a meal in the hotel restaurant absolutely beautiful food and incredible service. Perfect location. Cannot wait to go back :)

It was 5 star apart from the breakfast hot food bar does not keep food hot enough. Cold eggs are not nice , apart from the temperature of hot food I cannot fault the breakfast. Fabulous array of hot (tepid) and cold food.
