Wyndham Garden Kenosha Harborside

Excellent location. Clean/quiet rooom. Great view of harbor. Walkable to many venues. Fitness room needs to be updated.

The location is beautiful and the front desk staff was very nice but the rooms are not in good condition. The safe was broken and the fan in the bathroom did not go on. We called the front desk about the safe when we arrived and they said they would send someone to fix it and they never did. We asked about the fan and they said there is not one but there is a switch for it on the wall so we found that very odd and what bathroom does not offer ventilation? We went down to the bar to have a drink and were told it was bought out by a private party and they would not serve the guests? How can you offer a bar at your establishment and then close it off to the guests staying with you? We then placed a room service order and 30 in later got a call back that due to the holiday they closed the kitchen so there was no room service and they would refund my money. Why did it take 30 minutes after taking my order over the phone to tell me the kitchen was closed and they would not fill the order? We talked to the front desk representative at check out and they did not seem to care too much. While it was the 4th of July holiday, that does not condone closing out the bar and restaurant to your guests who are paying to stay there. The view and location were wonderful but the hotel was very disappointing.

We loved the view from our room. The fitness equipment in the gym for the most part did not work.

Hot tub not working

Property was mostly clean... looks like it's mid-renovation. Hot tub didn't work...and was not fixed while we were there. Hot but no therapeutic bubbles. Breakfast was ok. All in all, not what we expected of a Wyndham, but it was adequate as a basic accommodation.

Hotel was clean & well-kept. Location was really nice & the area is super cute. We stayed here on our way somewhere else but kinda wanted to stay longer. Simmons Island State Park is a short walk around the corner & is clean, quiet, & very pretty. We had an awesome surprise beach day there. The only con is the hallways are very echo-y & every room door slams loudly. Sounded like we were in prison all night.

If there was a 4.5 star option, that’s would I would give this property. Now, I stayed in a second floor street view room, so the view was not wonderful. However, the lake view is more a view of the cut going out to the lake, so I wasn’t missing much. What I did like was that you could walk to places to eat and it was central to Kenosha for my family to pick me up when we went out. The room was clean, including sheets and the bathroom. Bit dated and a few spots in the shower ceiling could use some TLC from the moisture (bubbling, no mold). Morning breakfast is 7 am to 10 am and was good; pancakes instead of waffles here. Went to the Comedy Club; Phil Selman wasn’t wonderful. No setup and worked the room. Even with a few drinks he really missed the mark. Good gym on the second floor there, 5 am to 11 pm, and the spa and pool area was clean, 9 am to 10 pm, but be forewarned - the entire pool is ONLY 3 ft deep. You can do laps and float, but that’s all. Great though if you have small kids (I went midday between lunch and dinner on a weekday so I did not run into anyone).

The location is beautiful and convenient for downtown walking and site seeing. Our room was mildly updated. Mold around the shower, sink, AC unit and windows, curtains torn and partially hanging on, mattress was beyond awful and bed sheet stained with yellow spot. Breakfast was marginal at best. Unfortunately we wont be staying there ever again unless major updates are done. Pool was ok, very shallow at only 3ft deep.

The view from our room was an awesome view of lake Michigan. Clean and beautiful room .

Hotel is very dirty and in need of repair. Hotel manager was rude and not customer friendly.

Its by the lake. But the property itself is very poorly maintained. The room we first got was dirty, sink clogged, drapes dirty amd ripped, sheets stained AND found a bed bug. Horrible experience never have I stayed at a hotel for the price I paid and had such a horrible experience. pool area being dirty and only 3ft., jacuzzi not working properly. Breakfast claim to be hot buffet only had three items to choose from and was not good at all. Never will I ever recommend or go to this hotel again

I was very disappointed about the pool. No one told us about the pool being fixed. I had a very disappointed 4 year old. I asked for a discount and he refused. Will no longer be staying here. They need to let customers know these things. We were really looking forward to swimming. There was finger prints all over the mirror in the bathroom. The tiles behind the toilet was ripped up. There was blood on the bed sheet. I felt very disgusted. If I would have known about any of this I would have booked a different hotel. This was our go to hotel for the past 4 years if vacation and this was the worst stay yet.

After checking in and finding only one hand towel and one wash cloth, I noticed a used wash cloth on top of the shower curtain (left behind by previous guest and not picked up by housekeeping). The light in bathroom also turned off at random times. After reporting issues to front desk, we requested all towels be replaced and garbage emptied. When we returned later that day, the dirty wash cloth was still in the same place though the other towels had been replaced. The garbage in the bathroom was emptied but not the garbage in the room itself. We reported the washcloth issue a 2nd time and someone was sent to remove it. I also found a 2nd remote control for the tv partially under the bed (probably dropped by previous guest). Clearly, housekeeping staff is not trained well. When checking out after a 3 night stay, no one asked us how our stay was. They must be used to complaints. Other complaints I have read in reviews are similar to mine and response from management to those complaints is nothing more than lip service. The ONLY reason to stay at this property is the location. The management is clearly indifferent to making improvements.

My room was very clean, staff was very friendly and apologetic when it came to me explaining how I couldn’t use the shower because the drywall in the bathroom over the tub was falling down

The Wyndham Garden is good value for money. It is streamlined comfort. The rooms are very clean, spacious and spacious, and the beds offer good support.

The room facing the lake is much nicer than the one facing the city.

The room was fairly spacious. The bed was comfortable.

Great hotel with lovely view of the lake for half the rooms. Comfy beds. Lovely staff. Only complaint is the echo-chamber of a hallway with tile floors.

Most channels on the TV wouldn't stay in

Hotel needs a major overhaul. Lobby is fine but the hallways and rooms need work. We were on the 4 floor and the hallways are not carpeted so very noisy. Room had water damage from active leak in ceiling. Bathroom floor til cracked and loose. Broken furniture in the room. Bathroom door frame rusted through. Location is great but Wyndham needs to serious invest in this property.

The view from our room was very nice. The atmosphere was nice. We really enjoyed the band that evening. The room itself, especially the bathroom, needs renovation. The lighted mirror did not work, and the towel rack fell off the wall, scaring us. The threshold at the entrance of the room was missing. I tripped twice entering the room. I let the front desk know about this before we left. Beds were comfortable. The rooms could have been cleaner. Breakfast was fairly good. They needed to do a better job of keeping the coffee pot filled.

The tub backed up every time I took a shower so I got a bath with my shower. Bed was so uncomfortable. small square pillows are not cool...whomever thought of that should be punished. paint was peeling off the ceiling and toilet was not attached. The staff was great!! Cleaning crew were awesome! Comedy Club and bar were a plus. breakfast was ok...at least it was free.

We couldn't check in until 5p, the systems were down. So we had to wait until they called us. The hallways are lovely, but the rooms could definitely use an uodate. Our "city view" room was to a brick wall. I called to make sure and was advised that was in fact a city view room. The washroom in the lobby is definitely in need of an update. The parking and location for walking to town are great. The front deak staff were fine, but when I asked for a map of the downtown area they seemed annoyed that I wanted the help in finding what I needed while I waited to even get checked in.

Only had our room cleaned once in the 4 nights we were there. Had to go to the front desk and ask for fresh towels to which they would only give us two for four people then give you attitude when you question the cleaning service. Great location but not likely to stay there next time.

We checked in 45 minutes early and they allowed us early check in. The only thing is that the tissue box was empty and toilet paper roll was almost empty when we got in.

Good location, friendly team

The overall property was very typical for any motel. The basics were met. View from the room was a lakeside view and very nice. Ice was not available on every floor. Room cleaning was not offered regularly. A product of COVID-19 that every hotel chain is still taking advantage of or abusing in my opinion. Our room was finally cleaned on the fifth day. We had to ask housekeeping staff in the hallway for clean towels when we needed them, no space to hang and dry towels. Room was very small, also not unexpected when traveling. The worst part was "completing" the check-in process on line the night before, not an easy task, and then I had to repeat the entire process again when I arrived at the desk. Next time I'll ignore to the online check-in and just wait to check-in when I arrive no matter what chain I use in the future.

The front desk gal was rude—we were an inconvenience to her at check-in. We opened the door to our room and were immediately assaulted by the overpowering smell of body odor. We walked back to the front desk and asked for a new room. The same front desk person rolled her eyes and begrudgingly gave us a new room—never a hint of embarrassment or just a basic apology. It’s a great location for parents with kids at Carthage, but never again.

Enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice visit to Kenosha; including explaining the metro train system into Chicago! Would stay here again.

when I arrived the first room had water in the tub and no heat. Then the 2nd room had no heat and manager couldn't get thermostat to work. Finally, the 3rd room had heat an was clean. However the staff at the desk were not very friendly. The room was not cleaned daily but I didn't know you had to request it. They never emptied the garbage ir brought clean towels. When checking out I did not get a receipt. The manager said it would come from Expedia. Never got it. I stayed at a Wyndham in Janesville and had no problems. But I will never stay here again.

Once we finally checked in at night everything was great. I called early in the morning to see if we could check in a little early since we mad a 3 o’clock event we needed to be at. The guy I talked to said our room would be available a little after 2. When we got there, not sure if it was the same guy , he bluntly said that there were no rooms ready until 3. Didn’t even make any effort to see if anything was available. Will not stay here again just because of that guy.

The location is excellent and plenty of coffee shops, bars, diners, and beach all in walking distance

Great location to waterfront and nearby museums and restaurants. Our room was comfortable and the staff members were friendly.

The location of this hotel has a fantastic view of the lake. They have done a nice job on freshing up the interior. But maybe the mechanicals, like new windows & doors, could be in the next renovation. But with it being so close to everything, it's where we'll be staying next time in town

Breakfast is sufficient, nothing fancy, but a number of good options available with your stay. Rooms are not fancy, older appearance, doors don't close as well due to new floors maybe? Seemed to catch. We had a party of four, requested adjoining rooms and was told this was not an option, though we have had it in the past at this hotel.

Wyndham Garden Kenosha Harborside is located in a quiet area next to Navy Park and is walkable to Lake Michigan and the Civil War Museum.

I loved the location! It was right on the harbor and less than a minute walk to the cutest coffee shop. I felt very safe!

Easy, convenient, great view

This modernist vintage building brings back images of Kenosha's glory days before the industrial collapse of the midwest. Clean, well-run, and quiet. A good move is to make sure you get a lake-view room, the sunrise is glorious. Anna's bakery next door is a good place for breakfast or lunch; Cap'n Mikes is good for dinner and drinks. Lots of nice food venues within walking distance. Highly recommend.

The hotel was very nice, good location. I would definitely stay there again. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars it was because of its breakfast. There wasn’t much variety.

Property was very well maintained however the tub drain was blocked so the tub filled when taking a shower. Breakfast was the standard free hot breakfast but OK. No decaf was offered. Beds/pillows were very comfy. Location on the water was awesome.

The property looks like and updated, but it was a bit dirty. During breakfast, the staff was not present, leading to many items not being restocked. When trying to enter the pool at the correct opening time in the morning the system did not let us in which led to a line of people waiting outside the pool door. When trying to call the front desk, my room phone was never hooked up and the front desk never answered when I used my cell phone. Our room also had a shower that drained very slowly leaving you standing in a large container of water while showering.

Our room reeked of fabulouso which gave everyone a headache. Bath towels were the size of a hand towel and super thin. The room didn't have properly fitted curtains so the sun woke everyone up as soon as it was sunrise. Terrible breakfast with even worse coffee. This hotel is in a great location but needs a lot of work.

Nice place on the lake, plenty of restaurants nearby. A bit more selection at breakfast would be nice.

Overall fantastic hotel to stay at. Workers were all very pleasant and professional. Only bad thing we experienced was on the second morning we were there the eggs ran out with about 15 minutes left for the breakfast time and were never refilled. However, for hotel breakfasts the quality was very good. Also, the hot tub and fitness center were great amenities. Would love to stay here again.

THE LOCATION WAS GREAT. THERE WAS NO RESTAURANT IN THE BUILDING BUT THERE WERE LOCAL RESTAURANTS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE BATHROOM FULLY REHABED.
