Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites White River Junction by IHG

I could not control the heat in the room. I set the thermostat at 68 but the temperature continued to climb up to 78 degrees. The thermostat said it needed batteries. I had to open the window during the night to cool the room down. The shower door was very difficult to slide open and close.The chair between the outside wall and the bed had a sharp broken spring protruding out. Fortunately, I saw it before I sat down. I informed the front desk. I took pictures of the chair and the spring. The front desk gave me an email so I could forward them.(I haven't yet) All the staff were friendly and helpful especially the woman running the breakfast area. The underground covered parking area was a welcome site since it snowed overnight.

This property is tired and in the process of renovation.

Breakfast was great, attendants were so responsive with stocking and helping guests. Great food for a free breakfast. Cool mini pancake machine. Gym was perfect for our needs, covered garage in winter is a huge plus! Our suite was huge! 2 tvs, kitchenette, pullout sofa, and desk area, etc about 50 minutes to killington and Pico. Lots of restaurants and shopping in white river jct and Woodstock

Very friendly and helpful lady at front desk. Adam the maintenance person was also very nice. The suite had an oldish, “tired” feel to it. However, it smelled a lot better than most hotel rooms. When we came in, we noticed the bathroom fan duct was sloppily taped over. Adam came up and removed it. The drywall near the tub was water damaged. Shower head was partially clogged. All it takes is an occasional brushing to prevent that. Some wall areas were dirty. The suite and bathroom were very dark even with lights on. The elevator carpet was very dirty with both old ground-in dirt and fresh loose dirt on top of the surface. There’s no excuse for that. To sum it up, we were very pleased with the helpful staff but the suite could use some sprucing up. The bathroom was clean but dark and had wall damage from water. Shower head was bad. We were very pleased that their was no bad smell.

Breakfast was great but some items were cold. Elevators were dirty. Mattress was soft. However, overall an above average experience.

First off, there wasn't a sign for the hotel so we weren't sure where the front door was located. It looks like there were renovations going on in the hotel, which is fine. However, I feel as though that is something that should be stated before booking. The room was very warm because the air conditioner wasn't on, then the thermostat just flashed low battery and the room never cooled off until early morning (about 2am). Then there was no curtain in the window so as soon as the sun rose we were awake whether we wanted to be or not. The window looked out onto trees which bordered another property, so not much of a view. The bathroom looked half remodeled, but there was peeling paint in shower, no working fan and the fan itself was filthy. The refrigerator was easily pulled out from under cabinet. There was noise in the hallways, but I will say it quieted down. We parked in the garage under the hotel, but it was very dirty and low lighting...didn't feel safe at all. The complimentary coffee that is out was ice cold. The breakfast selection was decent, however the bagels were stale so we tried the cereal and that was stale also, and the "hot" items were barely lukewarm. The cranberry juice was so watered down it looked like pink lemonade. Overall we weren't happy with the hotel considering how much one night cost...we won't be staying there again.

Some work going on but great staff, simple comfortable accommodation

Really good overall. Staff was sweet and caring. It was clean and the hotel room was larger than I expected. The furniture was nice and modern, and there was a downstairs coffee and tea bar 24hrs. The fitness room was pretty small.

What we loiked most was the staff. Roberta in the breakfast area is a real treasure. She keeps that area well stocked with food and supplies and checks with all the residents using that area to make sure they are satisfied. Sarah at the front check-in is also very friendly and responsive to all requests/issues, etc. Two issues regarding the facility. In the garage one of the doors leading to the elevator will not open with a keycard. This has been broken for at least the last two times we had stayed here before this most recent trip. Also, every bathtub in the hotel should have better non-slip surfaces installed. The strips in the tubs of all the rooms we have stayed in are worn and not very effective.

Very clean and comfortable rooms

The room was clean. The price is competitive. The breakfast included was very good. The property is quiet.

Everything was very clean, the staff was attentive. Great one bedroom unit. Easy check-in.

Really bad for the price. Stains all over the carpet. Baseboards in need of repair. Towels so threadbare they barely worked. Dates written on the toiletries that were over a year old. Only one elevator for the whole place so we had to wait 15 mins to get down from the second floor. Toaster didn’t work. So bare bones - can’t believe they collect what they do and make no improvements.

The location and the staff were fine but the facility was not clean and very outdated for the cost. They could use some renovation and better cleaning staff. Pink molds found around bathroom shower.

The sheets had a foot print on them and the drain in the shower was full of hair. Will not return

As soon as we walked into our room it was musty smelling. The windows were dirty and had mold. The shower and shower head had mold everywhere. The bedskirts were stained, the chase was stained. The floors had stains on them. The blind was ripped in several places.

It is easy to get to, fairly new and clean. Bed is comfortable. Huge room, got the suite and it had a small kitchenette, 2 separate seating areas and 2 queen beds. Felt very open and relaxing.

Room was huge, super clean and temperature perfect. Highly recommend.

After 1 hour someone answered and stated that she will call maintenance and that someone else complained about that too. We had to shut off the thermostat, and open the slider. No one ever answer the phone!! I also had to call to tell them it would be a late arrival, took almost an hour to get our call answered.

This hotel was such a surprise. Rooms were huge, fresh, beds very comfortable. Did I mention the rooms size? Highly recommend!

This hotel had NO A/C!!! The room was 80 degrees. I asked about it and they told me the either had heat or air and they turned the air off and now only had heat. I was told to open a window. The window opens about 4 inches. For the amount of money this place charged I would expect A/C at a minimum.

Furniture was dated and uncomfortable. Noise from the floor above was incredibly loud and prolonged, people in the room above were stomping/banging endlessly from 5:30pm-11pm. We should have asked to move rooms but were too tired to request a change. The location of the hotel was convenient for our travel plans and staff were kind.

Hotel is very hot. Couldn’t control temperature. Had to leave window open in 20 degree weather. Needs maintenance- paint chipping on ceiling in bathroom, smoke alarm covered in plastic, moldings coming off, door to bathroom wouldn’t shut without hoisting it up

Well, we were only there for one night and checked out early in the morning. I had a procedure at Dartmouth. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the room for the rate we paid. It was almost the size(minus 1 small room)of our whole apartment. I wish we were staying longer and that our daughter had been with us. I took pictures and plan to post with a great review. room #461 was definitely amazing! My hubby liked the breakfast. I couldn't eat because of my procedure. Anyway, I will definitely stay there again if I have another early morning procedure at Dartmouth. Oh, the people at check in and out were super nice too. They were genuinely nice too, they didn't come across as being fake at all. Great job!!

Ok hotel, good location - breakfast ok. room very good with fine space. Only reasons I dont give a 5 star rating; Two times I and some other people were in a quee in the reception, and the person there did talk in telephone, one of the times for more than 5 minutes, then I gave up and dropped my request. The other reason is that we didnot get new towels for the second day (and no one told that)

When we got to the hotel to check in, we were informed that they did not have the room that we had reserved. Luckily Courtney was behind the desk and call across the parking lot to see if White River Inn and Suites could accommodate us. I don't understand how we make a reservation in January and its not there for us in May

The person at the desk was exceptionally nice. She gave us an upgrade without us even asking. We are good customers and that should happen more often.

The woman that checked us in set the whole tone for our stay, she was amazing, helpful and so sweet! The room was clean and spacious and we had everything we needed! Definitely will stay here again!

From check in to check out, our stay was nothing short of fabulous!! Tiana and Ashley at the front desk were so sweet and friendly. Any time we had a question, needed something for our room, or needed a recommendation, they had the answer or solution right away and with a smile! My daughter was so happy to see a sign stating there was a library, but we couldn't see where it was. Ashley showed me where it was located (just off of the lobby and dining area), and my kids were all thrilled with the little library! There were even puzzles that my 4 year old could do there. Our queen suite was clean, super cozy, and far exceeded our expectations. I would rate them 6 out of 5 stars if I could! Can't wait to return for another visit!

We had an appointment at the VA that is right across the street. It is a great hotel and would stay here again.

Went for a girls weekend. Clean comfy beds. Kind staff. Location was perfect for the attractions we were looking at.

The room was extremely spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows. The breakfast was decent, but would have been so much better if the orange juice and pancake maker worked.

A/c worked great. Big room. Clean. The free breakfast was good and had a wide variety. I liked that there were pillow options as well.

We found the Holiday Inn Express more than met our expectations. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We were very pleased with our stay.
