Super 8 by Wyndham Christiansburg

The maid service was non existent. The pool has been out of service for 5 years and they still say there is a pool there. The toilet would constantly run and never flush properly. The shower while in use always Fluctuates in temperature goes from freezing cold to scolding hot. The TV remote did not work properly. I do not recommend visiting or staying in this Super 8.

Check in was slow. No one was at the counter. Reserved 3 rooms 1 had to be switched from 137 to 135 because there was a bug in the bed and blood on the sheet. The other room the toilet was rocking back and forth when used and smelled musty. Room 136. Room 138 also smelled funny like someone was living there. Smelled dirty. Was very unhappy that the pool was closed even though it was advertised with a pool. Grounds were depressing. I wish i could of canceled and moved to a new hotel. The area felt unsafe. We put chairs under our doors. Im not a disgruntled guest. I dont normally leave reviews. But this was unacceptable

Manager on duty couldn’t find my reservation. Also no pool on site like Expedia showed. Very run down place

The only issue was that the pool was closed for the season and the manager said something about snakes but it made no sense that it would cause the poll to be closed indefinitely. Other than that the room was nice and clean. It smelled like bleach and cleaning products as soon as you walked in. The bathroom was clean too. The breakfast was basic....waffles and cereal.juice and milk and coffee. But definitely worth the price. I was going for the pool so when it wasnt open that put a damper on the trip but still overall a nice spot

Towles were very stained and musty, no maid service, asked for clean towles and were told to come get them ourself. No hair dryer, food in fridge pool was closed even though advertised pool available. Will never stay again.

Quick easy checkin and all rooms are on ground level, which makes luggage moving easy.

Very clean smelled bleach as doon as soon as i opened the door. We were disappointed because the pool wasnt working and neither was ice machine...everything else was perfect

Absolutely filthy! Was a non smoking room that clearly had been smoked in. The bed sheets had recent stains, the towels were not clean and only had two for a double queen.

Bugs crawling around in bed, likely bedbugs. Multiple cigarette holes in sheets/covers. Bug bite holes all throughout the blinds. Awful room.

We stayed in a non-smoking room but it smelled of cigarette smoke. The bathroom wasn't clean. We are only staying one night so we'll live with. But we won't stay here the next time we are in town.

Overall room was Clean. However, the floor was Dirty, not mopped recently and the towels were dirty in appearance. Spots, stains of dirt or something on every towel. Staff is nice, everything else was Great!

The hotel was very dirty, it had ants, the bathroom very dirty and had mold, the bathtub cloths room 103, furniture are very old and dirty. Front desk staff are not helpful and not friendly It was a nightmare to stay at Super 8 hotel and that is my last,

This place is actually REALLY nice for the price. A diamond in the rough. The breakfast was a little lackluster. Waffle maker, cereal and toast. But for the price i paid, you can’t complain too much. The night shift lady that i checked in with was SUPER sweet. Didn’t see anyone the next morning while we were eating. You can hear a lot from the highway right outside the door, but it wasn’t horrible.

This was my second time staying at this property. It is a low price motel so my expectations were basic. For both stays, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the A/C worked. During the first stay, the light switch in the bathroom would only work after flipping it on and off several times which was a bit concerning and there were some minor things - the handle of the sink coming off, the back of the remote not matching the actual remote so it wouldn't hold the batteries in, the tray in the microwave not matching the microwave so that it wouldn't spin - but not the end of the world. For this second stay, I was VERY concerned that the door appeared to have been forced open at some point so that the door stop in the wall had been pushed through the drywall and the door mounted deadlatch was no longer fully mounted on the door frame. This made the room feel unsafe. The TV didn't work and the wi-fi was spotty at best. As I only needed a place to sleep for about 6 hours before getting back on the road and was too exhausted to switch rooms or find another place to stay, I just made the best of it. But I'll look elsewhere for a place to stay the next time I pass through the area.

Overall property and our room was old and badly need of repairs. Our room was missing towels and had no iron. The shower curtain was broken so the curtain didn't stay in place. The bed was okay as we got an wheelchair accessible room. About the only good thing was it was easy to access our car from the room. Our room was right next to the road so we had noise all evening long and into the night. On our 3rd evening there, someone opened our door around 1am and scared us to death. Fortunately we had latched the door closer so the door didn't open all the way. The person said they got the wrong room but had no idea how they could open the door! On our 2nd evening upon returning to our room around 10:30pm, the room keys didn't work. So we had to go to the office to get the keys recoded. There was nobody there and it took us about 20 minutes to finally get this resolved.

Good value for the money, but the air conditioning was loud and didn’t cool much. Good thing it was June and not later in the summer. Small ants in the bathroom, and the bathroom could use some shelves. The door lock was decrepit and requires some puzzle solving to open.

Overall, an ok place to stop for the night. The door lock was broken and the towel rack fell off the wall as soon as we tried to get a washcloth. But it was fairly quiet and the beds were comfortable.

Room was clean, however the AC unit was too noisy to sleep with it on and the bathtub did not drain properly. But for the price, this was to be somewhat expected. O.K. for an overnight stay of last resort.

The hotel is a very good location. However, the check in process was cumbersome and throughout my stay. I had to return to the front desk because the key did not work. The bathroom was far from clean. Wi-Fi also not working.

Proprietor put us in a smoking room with king bed. Our reservation was for non smoking room with 2 double beds. When we arrived back later in the evening he had put another customer in the same room. Had to change rooms 2 more times and still found the entire experience completely unsatisfactory in every way.

Had to wait for over 10 minutes before someone came to the front desk to check us in—that was only after I called the hotel phone. Room was comfortable and clean, but there was very loud shouting outside our room late in the night. Not a good experience for our kids.

Upon arriving, the desk staff couldnt be bothered to get off his phone till he was done with his video to help us. The room was on par with other hotels, nothing special. But, when we arrived back after eating, the ONE key that did work now didnt. Went to the office to have it fixed and instead of just fixing the issue he felt compelled to blame me...told me I must have put it next to my cell phone, and then even had the audacity to ask me if I knew how to use it while he demonstrated in an imaginary electronic lock for me.

The hotel was run down and obviously had long term residents who partied until 1:00 am. Management booked our room to another patron the 2nd night of our stay and we were woken up as they tried to enter the room. Overpriced and grossly mismanaged- avoid staying here.

Extremely friendly and courteous staff. Room was clean and neat, comfortable bed and clean well stocked bathroom.

Heading to Pennsylvania for an event and I can no longer drive at night. So I needed a place to crash for the night and it served its purpose. Considering I make this trip regularly...I would stay here again. If you are coming to a Virginia Tech game for a weekend...its perfect.

The breakfast selection is quite limited. Atmosphere way too noisy at night and when I asked to switch rooms it was even more noisy. The people running the hotel were very hospitable, but this motel caters to workers not Va Tech families. Location of hotel to school was close, a plus. Rooms have holes in walls and doors.

Unfortunately, they left opened soap in the shower. The Continental breakfast was minimalistic. They took dirty towels but did not give you fresh towels. The walls are rather thin. The property is old and dated. There is a lot of painted over areas that need to be replaced.

The room was clean and had updated furnishings. But the towels were dingy and stained. Outside the property was less nice than the room. Trash cans overly full. Weird stuff like little bbq grills, shoes and bikes stored outside various rooms. Do people live here? Cars in lot seemly being repaired. Big commercial vehicles and trailers stored on site. Breakfast closed early. I went in at 9:50 and they said they only had coffee. I tried the coffee but it was cold. They didn’t care. No offer to make more. Just too lazy to be bothered I think. Cheap but still overpriced in my opinion.

The bathroom had several flies, the sink handle fell off, the light switch in bathroom was broken, the toilet seat was broken, the sheets had stains on them the staff was not friendly, the breakfast was white bread, no pastries, cereal and a waffle machine but no syrup, hardly a breakfast as advertised, I would stay somewhere else if there were other options.
