It’s unfortunate that it is a half smoking facility. I thought it was clean and the staff was nice but no matter where I was I smelled smoke and unpacking all my clothes smelled like smoke, very unfortunate 😕

The room is falling apart. The electrical outlets need replacing, there are loose parts in the lighting near the bed, the room smells like stale smoke even though we requested a non smoking room. The front desk attendant was smoking just outside the front doors, cussing and complaining to her manager. Overall that is a bad first impression. The owner needs to put some money into this place to at least brighten the finishes and make sure the fixtures and electrical are functional. We paid well over the market value for this type of room as it is graduation week at Virginia Tech and all the hotels are raising their rates due to demand. I would not stay here again regardless as it is not worth the price even when it goes back down to a normal everyday rate.

The staff was friendly. The pet fee was only $15 for my dog - so that was a big plus. However there is no elevator and we had to drag our luggage to the 2nd floor. This hotel smelled like smoke in the lobby and hallways and had a weird smell in the room. I would call the condition less than average. It could use some updating.

Something must have been going on in the area because all of the nice, name brand hotels that would usually be maybe $128 were $400. This place was $200 but wasn’t worth a dollar over $39.95. First it was laughable because there were signs saying “this is a non smoking property” everywhere yet the lobby reeked like an old bar back when smoking was allowed indoors. Then going into the area where the rooms are it seemed like every other room had pot smoke wafting under the doors…it was so bad and the management must know it happens because there were about 10 febreeze plug-ins on every floor in the hallways. This is the kind of place that you want to check your room for used needles before putting your hands anywhere.

Honestly, I think my wife and I are going to sleep in the car tonight before tomorrow's game. All the accessories in the room are beat up. It smells like smoke.. actually it REEKS of cigarette smoke!! we are worried our clothes will smell like this tonight so we have the room window wide open, air blasting, and the exhaust fan going.. never stay here!!!! I will never stay here, time to sleep in our car tonight. Wasted $307 for one night and we don't even want to step foot into our hotel room...

Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is old and in need of a makeover. The hotel does well to clean the rooms, but there is strong smell from the cleaning solution (and possibly mixed with smoke - even in a nonsmoking room). Sheets and pillows are new and clean. Blankets were very old. Recommend bringing a blanket from home.

Overall, this property is very nice! It was convenient to my primary purpose for being in C'burg: the State Age-Group Swimming Championships. There is a nice assortment of shopping and dining nearby, but driving is almost mandatory. My one complaint: the mattress in my room was worn-out, with spring-tops painfully evident.

Run Down , weed and cigarette smell in non smoking rooms, terrible breakfast, dirty and internet sucks with less than 1mbs speed. Good for nothing. Had to check out after 1 night. Manager is a nice guy and accommodated the request. But front desk was rude. I don not recommend. Don’t waste your time and money.

The room was falling apart. The shower handle was loose and it took several minutes to figure the right temperature. The ac unit was very loud. The staff was helpful and nice. Only stayed here because it was one of the cheaper hotels for a VT game weekend. Guess we got what we paid for (probably double or triple the normal room rate on non-game weekends).

It doesn't look anything like in the picture. It is a run down property. Hallways had a very strong smoke smell. Beds were very uncomfortable and were creaking so loudly, when you toss and turn, it wakes everyone up. Internet just didn't work (very very slow). The breakfast is horrible. The coffee wasn't hot, had old, dry danishes and oranges. They call this breakfast. The property is old and rundown. Not for me for sure.

I was in town for a funeral and arrived at front desk at 10:30am. I asked if there was any way I could check in early. It was no problem. I was able to relax for a few minutes, after driving 6 hours, before the noon funeral.

I got a hotel for my son and his family for the weekend because of water issues at their house. The front desk clerk was rude to my son, and judged him by his appearance. He does tattoos so has a lot of them, it was only when he called me and seen he was frustrated that she helped him and her attitude improved. Folks, please don't judge a book by its cover!!!

I initially called the hotel to request a modification to my reservation for a room with a single bed, but my call was abruptly disconnected. I then sent a message through the app, which was never responded to. Upon arrival at check-in, I requested the change again, but the receptionist did not even attempt to check the computer and simply stated that it was not possible. The room and the bed had a very unpleasant odor, to the point where my clothes absorbed the smell. The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel.

Super 8 fit my desire for a safe and convenient place to stay near Virginia Tech. Staff were friendly and kind and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to a number of restaurants, stores, and the university, and it was the best price of the hotels I searched. Breakfast is quite sparse, and the amenities and general "feel" are fairly no-frills, but it fit the bill for my purposes, and I had a very nice experience.

The tub wouldn't drain after taking a shower. Water was still in it the next morning. The breakfast was the skimpiest I think I have ever seen in a hotel before. Almost nothing there. Coffee was lukewarm.

Front desk could’ve been more responsible. I was assigned one room. I had entered the room and switched on the exhaust and left. When I returned, the same room as allotted to another person. Later the reception gave me the correct room key. Breakfast had very little choice. I was not impressed.

Very convenient location. Easy, quick check in. Great value. Comfortable room. Helpful staff. Nice to have a piece of fresh fruit and coffee (with half and half) for breakfast, too.... Thank you! Only complaint was a damp mustiness in my room upon entering (1st floor, which I needed due to heavy luggage and no elevator).

Some of the staff was nice and helpful, one person, not so much. Coffee was luke warm each day, not really fresh in the mornings. The breakfast consist of stale mini wrapped muffins and small honey buns. They also had instant oatmeal. The rooms were clean but really needs to be upgraded and taken better care of.
