Wingate by Wyndham Christiansburg

Our two night stay could not have been worse. The hotel reeked of sewerage. A sign in the elevator said it was from a drainage issue under the elevator. They attempted to make the smell better by putting air fresheners in each corner of the elevator. The smell was so bad we were nauseous and had headaches. Another customer called the fire department because they felt sick from toxic smells. The front desk apologized and said there’s nothing they can do. They put us on the top floor to be as far away from the smell but it still reeked. All nearby hotels were booked solid due to parents weekend and a football game at the local college. There was no shampoo so we couldn’t wash our hair. Free breakfast was a waste because who could eat smelling sewerage? I requested fresh towels and our room to be cleaned hoping the cleaning chemicals might mask the smell. We returned to our room at 9:30pm and nothing was cleaned. I had to go to the front desk to get towels. The front desk agreed that the smell is unbearable and they are sorry but the owner isn’t doing anything about it. Hotel management never returned my call. The front desk said I need to go through Hotels.com because I booked through a third party. Hopefully Hotels.com does the right thing. I have photo evidence of the signs, air fresheners and filth. The fire department reports also serve as evidence that the hotel should be held liable. This hotel should be shut down! Hotels.com should take it off their site!

The hallways and elevators had a very terrible smell, very nauseating, they tried to cover up with air freshners in the corners, we literallyhad tol hold our breaths to avoid heaving. The breakfast was very under stocked. Had to find someone to make the coffee and fill the empty fridge of juice, milk, and yogurts. And baked goods were hard. The downstairs smelled of chorine but the pool was completely empty.

when you get the hotel completed maybe have hot decaf coffee instead of packets for guest. everything else was awesome the ladies at the front desk give them a gold starr

This hotel is going through a renovation. The room itself was fine. The elevators smelled like porta johns. Continental breakfast was just ok. They had no waffle mix both days. Hope this hotel is better after the renovation.
