The hotel’s location, comfortable beds, clean room, lovely balcony, view, helpful staff, breakfast everything was very good.. please dont hesitate to stay here. It’s location is great, close to the center, maybe 5-8min walk. view is perfect from the balcony. Room has automatic blinds for dark lovers.. they have private parking for rented car. It is cheaper than basic parkings. we were happy to stay there

Does what it says on the tin. Central location overlooking the waterfront, excellent roof terrace with a somewhat strange design swimming pool, nearby secure and spacious parking (needs to be pre-booked and it’s EUR30/night), friendly receptionists dispensing good advice and good breakfasts. Recommended.

Great location and helpful staff. The restaurant that is in the same building is wonderful. The food is solid, and the staff it top notch. Much better experience than some of the crowded places on the nearby streets and plaza (where sometimes you feel as if you are a burden rather than a customer).

I loved my stay at Hotel Laurin. The room was great, very clean and the balcony was a massive plus. The pool area was excellent, for the time of year the number of sun loungers was plenty, and the view over the coast was perfect. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of hot & cold, and sweet & savoury. The staff were all brilliant, welcoming and helpful. And the area was close to all restaurants and shops, as well as the boat to Portofino and the train to all the popular spots on the coast as well as the smaller villages. Santa Margherita itself is the perfect base for the area, with a calmer feel than some of the more intense tourist areas, whilst still having enough of a buzz to not feel too quiet. I would highly recommend! Grazie Mille!

Hotel Laurin is in a fantastic location—everything is walkable, with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. The breakfast was delicious with options for everyone, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The gym is small, but perfect for getting in a good workout. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. Overall, an excellent stay—I highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is very nice and has an excellent location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the port. It is surrounded by greenery. It is at the same time very central to all attractions in the city. The bus stop to Portofino is 50m away. The hotel itself has all necessary amenities. Staff is friendly. Room is spacious. The hotel has a pool on the terrace which has gorgeous views. The breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of options. The hotel has a small gym which we tried. I highly recommend the hotel.

Very nice hotel, loved the location and the view off of our terrace. Staff was always very friendly and helpful and wanted to help in any way. The pool was an excellent place to cool off and take in the view as well. I loved the Santa Margherita location because it was close to Portofino, and Rapallo and the ferry was a very nice way to get to both places. The Cinque Terre was the reason we came to this region and honestly, a full day there was enough. It’s about an hour train ride away. The beach water looked clearer at CT, but the hotel had a beach available in the sea, vs the harbor at SM. SM was a big little town and quaint. I enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Amazing view! Amazing location and to top it off - a free bottle of Pinot-Chardonnay delivered to our room after checking in! Wonderful! Access to nearby restaurants was great. Balcony and pool looked nice( weather a little cold to use it). Parking is pretty much always €30/day despite what the description shows. But otherwise all good.

Et fantastisk Hotel hvor alt er i orden. Værterne er selv tilstede og sørger for at man som gæst føler sig godt tilpas. Rene værelser og serviceminded personale . Der altid hilser pænt på gæsterne. Skal man bo i Santa Magharita Ligurie . Så er det 100% en anbefaling herfra. Vi kommer igen .

The room was spotless, the staff went over and beyond with making us feel comfortable. Bringing us a kettle and cups to our room and champagne upon arrival! ( I think that's because we are Expedia VIP). Wonderful breakfast.

This hotel is like a love and hate relationship, love the location , the view and the services but hated the room, the smell in the room was awful, they pretend it they could not smell it , I ended up emptying my perfume every night in order to go in.

Wonderful Location with a close up view of the harbor from our balcony. Clean and comfy room, not much for decor but spacious and had everything we needed. Handy and good restaurant attached--we enjoyed eating there twice. And the staff--they were unfailingly kind and helpful, spoke really good english. We loved our time there.

Hotel Laurin is in a wonderful location , central for everything in SML and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean . The breakfast offered a good selection and was fresh and very nice . I would recommend the hotel

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful at Hotel Laurin. We were able to park safely and conveniently which is worth a lot around Portofino. The hotel is slightly tired and especially the outdoor area, not completely clean. However, it was completely fine and we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is fantastic, generous, varied and delicious! Portofino is beautiful of course, but get ready, it is overrun with tourists.

Great location with breathtaking views from the terraces in the rooms as well as the pool and great service. Our only complaint is that the AC did not get as cool as we would have liked, but when we asked for a fan the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again

The location is great (right in middle of town and waterfront) and the views from the room are excellent. The balconies are very large and shaded. The AC works pretty good, which can be hit or miss in Europe. The pool was a good place to retreat but is rather small and seating is limited. The breakfast wasn’t very good compared to other European experiences. In fact, I’m not sure breakfast is a meal to be enjoyed in Santa Margherita, but you’ll find plenty of coffee shops with pastries if that’s what you like in the morning. I wish the bed was more comfortable and fitted with a comforter. I had to request a blanket.

Amazing views. We booked an ocean view room and we were in heaven. The terrace is stunning and has a beautiful view we will remember forever. The location is excellent right on the maim strip close to all restaurants, ferry stops and walking distance to the train. The rooms have electric strom shutters that once you close them the room is pitch black allowing for a great nights rest. The breakfast was great. The service and staff were all excellent. Roberto and Liazana at the front desk helped us immensely, they were super professional and welcoming and helped us plan our days with efficiency. Thank you again to you both ! I highly recommend this hotel you wont be disapointed

Check in was fantastic! The room is spacious, with a beautiful direct view of the marina and surrounding landscapes. Sunrises are phenomenal! We have found the beds in Europe are all significantly harder than ours in North America so I wouldn’t deduct points for that but something to be conscious of when you are travelling. The ladies at check in were wonderful, and we used the laundry service to give our honeymoon wardrobes a full do over- it always helps us pack so much less! Nobody likes lugging around heavy suitcases in cobblestone! This town has SO much more to offer, with half the cost of neighbouring (overhyped) Portofino that is only minutes away. So many places to eat and drink and shop!

Very nice and centrally located. Walking distance to most restaurants. Staff was very friendly Hotel was clean and well taken care of. Breakfast was average for eggs and meats. Fruit and bread pastries were great. Unfortunately, the bed my wife and I slept in was two single beds pushed together. Made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The parking is deceiving. When booking it says "parking is available" read the fine print. It's $30 a day. We parked on the road and were able to save about $10 a day. Have to be strategic with not wasting time on the meter.

Fruit and bread pastries were great. Unfortunately, the bed my wife and I slept in was two single beds pushed together. Made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The parking is deceiving. When booking it says "parking is available" read the fine print. It's $30 a day. We parked on the road and were able to save about $10 a day. Have to be strategic with not wasting time on the meter.

The best location in Santa Margarita! Yet the hotel is not modern style, for example rooms are still with normal keys not a card, in the room there is no coffee machine or boiler. The cost per night was extremely very high compare to what you get in the hotel except the very good location in the center of the town.

The room was spotless, the staff went over and beyond with making us feel comfortable. Bringing us a kettle and cups to our room and champagne upon arrival! ( I think that's because we are Expedia VIP). Wonderful breakfast.

Amazing views. We booked an ocean view room and we were in heaven. The terrace is stunning and has a beautiful view we will remember forever. The location is excellent right on the maim strip close to all restaurants, ferry stops and walking distance to the train. The rooms have electric strom shutters that once you close them the room is pitch black allowing for a great nights rest. The breakfast was great. The service and staff were all excellent. Roberto and Liazana at the front desk helped us immensely, they were super professional and welcoming and helped us plan our days with efficiency. Thank you again to you both ! I highly recommend this hotel you wont be disapointed

O quarto, embora não muito grande, é bem confortável, com cama excelente e chuveiro ótimo. O café da manhã é variado e de ótima qualidade, servido em um ambiente agradável. Foi uma experiência maravilhosa do início ao fim. Se eu voltar à Itália, especialmente àquela região, certamente me hospedarei novamente no Hotel Laurin.

I loved my stay at Hotel Laurin. The room was great, very clean and the balcony was a massive plus. The pool area was excellent, for the time of year the number of sun loungers was plenty, and the view over the coast was perfect. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of hot & cold, and sweet & savoury. The staff were all brilliant, welcoming and helpful. And the area was close to all restaurants and shops, as well as the boat to Portofino and the train to all the popular spots on the coast as well as the smaller villages. Santa Margherita itself is the perfect base for the area, with a calmer feel than some of the more intense tourist areas, whilst still having enough of a buzz to not feel too quiet. The receptionist was cold and not welcoming / for the amount of money we paid it was sub-standard - we felt like commodities. The room was very base - like 2/3 star I would say and no coffee facilities which is crazy for and Italian 4-star. The cleaning ladies were friendly as were the bar staff. But the lady who checked us in should not be working on reception -the other ladies (Japanese) were very friendly.

As we approached the final leg to Santa Margherita Ligure, all roads from Rapallo were closed due to multiple events. I sent an email to the hotel and received an immediate and reassuring response. This service level was throughout the hotel staff from check in to breakfast to luggage assistance. I had prearranged parking which I read about in Rick Steves’ handy guide and it was a nice garage up the hill. On arrival and departure the handy little drive at the front door made things easy. The adjacent restaurant, though separate from the hotel was very good. Taking the hourly boat to Portofino or other destinations was just across the street so very easy to leave the car parked while here. The seafront terrace each room has was a wonderful feature we enjoyed a great deal.

It’s location is great, close to the center, maybe 5-8min walk. view is perfect from the balcony. Room has automatic blinds for dark lovers.. they have private parking for rented car. We highly recommend this property. It's such a great location overlooking the harbor and in the center of town. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean. The location is also within easy access to Portofino (30 minute walk) and Cinque Terra (by train or boat).

Great location and helpful staff. The restaurant that is in the same building is wonderful. The food is solid, and the staff it top notch. Much better experience than some of the crowded places on the nearby streets and plaza (where sometimes you feel as if you are a burden rather than a customer).

The hotel is very nice and has an excellent location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the port. It is surrounded by greenery. It is at the same time very central to all attractions in the city. The bus stop to Portofino is 50m away. The hotel itself has all necessary amenities. Staff is friendly. Room is spacious. The hotel has a pool on the terrace which has gorgeous views. The breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of options. The hotel has a small gym which we tried. I highly recommend the hotel.

Very nice hotel, loved the location and the view off of our terrace. Staff was always very friendly and helpful and wanted to help in any way. The pool was an excellent place to cool off and take in the view as well. I loved the Santa Margherita location because it was close to Portofino, and Rapallo and the ferry was a very nice way to get to both places. The Cinque Terre was the reason we came to this region and honestly, a full day there was enough. It’s about an hour train ride away. The beach water looked clearer at CT, but the hotel had a beach available in the sea, vs the harbor at SM. SM was a big little town and quaint. I enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
