The Hot tub and pool were nice. The room was pretty good size, and the room didnt smell. Some of the outdoor areas need a little repainting but otherwise pretty good. We enjoyed our stay. Keep up the great work. God Bless

We stayed at the Starlite Budget Inn on 9-27/9-29. The room was $150 for 2 nights. It was an old room, but had everything we needed. There were 2 pools on the property to use, and they were both empty when we went. Nice warm pool! I had a lot of questions and check in and the hostess was happy to explain everything. You also get discounts at local restaurants and waterpark passes. It was a lovely experience! Rooms are outdated, sure. But the privacy and quiet was what I was really looking for. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Our recent stay at Starlite Budget Inn in Mackinac City got off to a difficult start. First day when checked in to the room, it was quite frankly terrible: the bed was broken, and the bathroom was in poor condition. Next day when I asked the staff to change our room, thankfully, they were able to accommodate us quickly. The new room was a significantly ok as compared to the first, However, the issues weren't limited to just the initial room. Indoor pool was not in working condition, they offered kids pool passes to the other hotel. We did not have time for it and the outdoor play area for kids was not maintained, We appreciate the staff's prompt action in resolving our room issue.

This property is very outdated. Extension cords in our room for the window AC. Bathroom was very dirty as was the carpet. The pool was literally crumbling and filthy. The hot tub was green.

Spartan accommodations BUT had everything I needed. Authentic vintage mid-century furnishings and scale, a delightful blast from the past. What I enjoyed the most is its exceptional cleanliness and upkeep…everything was in excellent working order and looked great. The heat and fan/a/c worked right on cue, so I was very happy. Must have been off-season because I had to drive to a nextdoor motel to check in. No breakfast in the morning so that was a bummer, but the room had a coffee maker and coffee packs. The room fridge was an added nice amenity, and the drive-up motel parking made it super easy to transfer food and drinks and luggage. You don’t get that with bigger places or hotels.

Traveling by motorcycle stated this place so we can catch the boat ride The pool was not an option as it was green and nasty and hadn't been cleaned in a while nor the hot tub that was in the building or pool whatever it was you can see he was nasty for the price the room was a good room to catch some sleep and in rest

This property is the "old-fashion" style of the motels where one can drive up to the office to check in, and then park at the door of your room. It's convenient, not far off the interstate and very near the downtown without the hub-bub of its busy-ness. The grounds are spacious and very well kept. My room was small but sufficient for 1 or 2 people. It was a bit of a mishmash of furniture which is the usual for an older motor inn, but all in great shape, very clean and had a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker and nice toiletries. The check-in was very smooth; the gentleman at the desk was warm and welcoming, and had some good recommendations. Dollar for dollar in Mackinaw City, at this time of peak tourist travel, this property is a great value!

Internet and TV were very intermittent. Couldn't do anything on computer or watch a complete show on TV. Expedia said breakfast included, but they said that no one does that in the area. Swimming pool was so green that you couldn't see the bottom. They had excuses. Electrical either didn't work, or was old. No ground fault in toilet area. Non grounded outlets all over room. Only value was the low price and close to downtown.

I would have rather slept in the truck. The carpets were NASTY. i swear from the 80s original carpet. You could tell they were thick with dirt and moisture from decades of use and neglect. So were the beds. They were rock hard spring in your back type beds. I can deal with hard beds. Cant deal with stains on the box springs, and stains you can see thru the sheets. My dogs didnt even want to walk on the floor and they roll in poop. It smelled like old indian food. The water was hot for one shower but not two. Wall plug ins did not work. There was a maxed out plug in strip for a mini fridge i didnt dare open, tv and i think the window ac. I asked my husband if we could go buy a tent and sleep in the woods bc i was so grossed out by the carpet, beds and spiders in the corners. Non of the windows locked. There was mold on the walls on the bathroom where the paint has peeled up. Our only other options for hotels were equal to a car payment $$$ is the only reason we didnt leave.

I have never ever been in such a disgusting place. The room smelled like straight up mold and mildew. The ac wasn’t on and it was so dirty it seemed as if it wasn’t cleaned in months. Yes the sheets were “clean” but smelled absolutely horrendous. The bathtub faucet was dripping 24/7. Let’s not forget the BED BUGS. I found bed bug droppings on both queen mattresses in the seams of them. There were spider webs and insects in the room in all spaces. The furniture is all from the 70s and the mattresses themselves were not comfortable. Spider webs beyond belief behind the mattress and under the headboard. Overall not a clean location. When it was mentioned to the staff they seemed surprised although I found another review that mentioned bed bugs the same day we checked out… seems a little odd. The management is also managing two other hotels so I’m not so sure about the other two hotels conditions. Come at your own risk!!!!

Staff seemed friendly. The property is old and run down. At the same time, it was clean, water was warm, beds were clean and pretty comfortable, fridge worked really well, the door lock was easy to use and worked well. The place was also pretty busy. They are located in a good area and they are near lots of entertainment by the dock. Overall, a pretty decent stay for a budget hotel and would rate on the higher end of a 4.

Overall, for the price we made it was alright. Stayed here for two nights. Check in was good, however checking out there was no one at the desk. The sheets still had hair, water smelled like rust and there was mold on the vents in the bathroom. I give it a 3/10.

Check-in was about 1/4 mile away - not terrible, but strange. Carpet was FILTHY. Beds must have been 60 years old. Bathroom looks like it was updated recently but hook on wall isn't in a stud and it won't even support one towel. There is no where else in bathroom to put a towel or your clothing. It's just very bleak. The gentleman at the reception desk was nice, and they actually gave us 4 large towels (1 more than most places) - and the small patio at the rear was nice, although we didn't use it. I had to pay $30 and sign to many documents to have a small dog there that I wound up picking up other dog poop that was outside near our room so that I wouldn't be charged for it. I've stayed in worse, but I won't stay there again.

Great economical group of motels. Our room had new mattresses and linens that were super comfortable. The property is older but clean and the staff is very friendly. We used the grill for steaks and splashed around the pool in the evenings. Nice place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Coming back next week with the grand-neighbors because the younger kids will love the free waterparks. No hot tub on site but the waterparks have pools & spas.

To check in and out I had to go to another motel two buildings down the street, which was inconvenient and slow as well. Had to make an extra trip over there to get coffee supplies that were not provided in the room. WiFi was terrible. Motel may not have control over speed from the provider, but the signals from the WiFi routers was also weak and intermittent, and that part is completely under their control. Evidently three hotels in a row are under common management (hence the consolidated check-in process), which may also own a breakfast restaurant that they were trying to steer us toward with a BOGO offer. Reviews of the restaurant were lousy so we went elsewhere.

Worth the price for a quick overnight trip as a couple. Room was very dated and mini fridge didnt get too cold but worked. Walls are thin so you can hear voices from the next room and outside easily so I wouldn't recommend if that bothers you. Staff was friendly. *Note - 3 budget motels are being ran by 1 management company so check in is next door. Looks like they are trying to maintain and up keep these old properties which is nice!

The front desk service was excellent. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are very dated, small and the beds are lacking comfort. Clean for the most part. The hot water was not lacking. Heat worked and kept us cozy. Perfectly fine to stay a night or two.

The prices booked online were not better than if I walked in and purchased myself. I did not bother to try and change booking due to not wanting the hassle, lesson bought and paid for... Microwave did not work. Outlets are only two prong with no ground. So everything in room was put on an extension cord that had the ground broken off and it was over loaded on a multi out. Door has no weather strip to keep elements or pests out. I could go on but will not.
The prices booked online were not better than if I walked in and purchased myself. I did not bother to try and change booking due to not wanting the hassle, lesson bought and paid for... Microwave did not work. Outlets are only two prong with no ground. So everything in room was put on an extension cord that had the ground broken off and it was over loaded on a multi out. I didn't like that when I went to one hotel that I had reserved to check in. And they told me to go check in at a second hotel. Only to tell me there when I checked in that I'd be staying at the third hotel. Which was in between the 2 that I just went to.

Check-in was a bit cumbersome. There was one location for all 3 adjacent hotels on the property. The process took quite a while as there were numerous people waiting. The staff was not very friendly. My key card quit working the second day we stayed. Had to wait in line for 20 minutes to get a new one. Property and room were a bit run down, in need of updating and repairs.

Older property but clean. You must go to another hotel to check in, and it took awhile to find our reservation. Outdoor pool was not working. But, what i was most disappointed in was that during our week stay, no one came to even empty garbages, or change out towels.

Pleasant staff, we came in super late but the lady assisting us was prompt and pleasant. The room was clean, but there was an unpleasant smell throughout the room. The pillows didnot have the scent, gratefully. For the price, it was a great stay

The front desk clerk at the Thunderbird where we had to check in was an absolute asset to your company. Trey was very kind and informative and answered all of our questions with ease. I hope you pay him well enough that he is still there the next time we visit Mackinaw.

I was told the office was open until 11pm. When i arrived at 1005pm i was told to go to another hotel to sign in. After driving for hours it was a bit frustrating.

This property is the "old-fashion" style of the motels where one can drive up to the office to check in, and then park at the door of your room. It's convenient, not far off the interstate and very near the downtown without the hub-bub of its busy-ness. The grounds are spacious and very well kept. My room was small but sufficient for 1 or 2 people. It was a bit of a mishmash of furniture which is the usual for an older motor inn, but all in great shape, very clean and had a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker and nice toiletries. The check-in was very smooth; the gentleman at the desk was warm and welcoming, and had some good recommendations. Dollar for dollar in Mackinaw City, at this time of peak tourist travel, this property is a great value!

We stayed at the Starlite Budget Inn on 9-27/9-29. The room was $150 for 2 nights. It was an old room, but had everything we needed. There were 2 pools on the property to use, and they were both empty when we went. Nice warm pool! I had a lot of questions and check in and the hostess was happy to explain everything. You also get discounts at local restaurants and waterpark passes. It was a lovely experience! Rooms are outdated, sure. But the privacy and quiet was what I was really looking for. We really enjoyed ourselves!

To check in and out I had to go to another motel two buildings down the street, which was inconvenient and slow as well. Had to make an extra trip over there to get coffee supplies that were not provided in the room. WiFi was terrible. Motel may not have control over speed from the provider, but the signals from the WiFi routers was also weak and intermittent, and that part is completely under their control. Evidently three hotels in a row are under common management (hence the consolidated check-in process), which may also own a breakfast restaurant that they were trying to steer us toward with a BOGO offer. Reviews of the restaurant were lousy so we went elsewhere.

Spartan accommodations BUT had everything I needed. Authentic vintage mid-century furnishings and scale, a delightful blast from the past. What I enjoyed the most is its exceptional cleanliness and upkeep…everything was in excellent working order and looked great. The heat and fan/a/c worked right on cue, so I was very happy. Must have been off-season because I had to drive to a nextdoor motel to check in. No breakfast in the morning so that was a bummer, but the room had a coffee maker and coffee packs. The room fridge was an added nice amenity, and the drive-up motel parking made it super easy to transfer food and drinks and luggage. You don’t get that with bigger places or hotels.
