Staybridge Suites Grand Rapids: Spacious Suites, Stellar Gym, But One Annoying Hiccup We recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Grand Rapids, Michigan with our family of 6 for a debate tournament. While we were primarily out and about for the competition, the hotel provided a comfortable and convenient home base for our busy schedule. Spacious Suites: The two-bedroom suite was fantastic! It offered plenty of space for our family to spread out. We appreciated having two full bathrooms, which helped us get ready quickly in the mornings. Plus, the 1/2 kitchen was perfect for storing snacks and drinks, and came in handy for light meals after long days. The TV was a nice way to unwind in the evenings. Fantastic Gym: A big highlight of our stay was the hotel gym. It was truly the best we've ever seen in a hotel! They had a wide variety of dumbbells, a treadmill, an elliptical, and ample space for floor exercises like jumping jacks. This was a lifesaver for staying active during our busy trip. Good Breakfast & Service: The breakfast was good, with a variety of options to suit different tastes. The service staff were friendly and helpful. Trash Issue: The only real downside to our stay was that housekeeping never came to take out the trash during our entire 4-day stay. This resulted in a rather large and unpleasant trash bag accumulating in the corner of the room. Overall: A great place to stay for a trip!

We stayed in a king studio which had a kitchen and living space - great room! The outdoor hot tub and pool is a beautiful spot to hang out after a day of traveling. This is why I booked here as it was the only hotel in the area with outdoor pool & hot tub. Breakfast was average. The only thing that did not meet our expectations was our room smelled like Chinese food and the front desk did not have anything to get rid of it.

Number one when I arrived there was no one who could help me check in is what I was told an had to wait for quite some time for someone to finally help me get checked in . The hotel is nice and in a good, convenient location. Although it rained the day we were there, the outside pool and area looked very nice. Amble parking, and the check in was quick and friendly. The room that we had, 143, a King suite with separate bedroom, was spacious with comfortable beds and sitting area. However, both of the phones were broke, there was only one small trash can in the living area, and the bathroom was not clean. The paint on the door of the bathroom was pealing and there was some brown substance (hoping it wasn't fecal matter) on the inside of the door. The "dinner" that they served that night was very basic at best and the breakfast was not good at all. They did have plenty of coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks available. All in all, our stay was ok and we would probably give it another try.

Nice hotel! Wish we were able to use the pool. Maybe next time. Hotel room was pretty clean, except we had to call down for whole new bed sheets. Our had stains on them. Other than that the hotel was nice.

The continental breakfast was great, the staff I dealt with were friendly and solved the problem I addressed. The floor in the room could have been cleaner, it was not filthy but there was dirt and dust on the floor. Could use some updating in the room, just looked old and kind of tired and felt like it was way overpriced for the quality of the room we got.

We stayed at this hotel on two different occasions because it’s the only hotel with a king and two fulls, but each time it got grosser. I’m no prude, but the rooms needed fussier cleaning. The floors weren’t mopped; housekeeping completely overlooked a spilled box of Nerds over and under the refrigerator; and food-caked dishes were put back on the shelves! The second time we booked the hotel, it was having drywall renovations done on the third floor corridor, but they still put us up there! With constructions workers sanding drywall, drywall dust got on everything and we couldn’t help breathing it in. We had to dodge shopvacs, extension cords, and tarps strewn about in order to get to our room. When we entered, our luggage wheels brought in lines of drywall dust. This place wants to turn rooms over too quickly, so the deep and necessary cleaning isn’t happening. But this place also suffers from enough greed that it would put customers at risk in order to get more money. They should have made the third floor off-limits! Their saving grace is that they put us on the second floor after I complained, but I never got reimbursed for the more expensive room I booked on the third floor.

My partner and I have been driving up to Grand Rapids once a month for the past 5 months for her fertility treatments because we are trying to have a child after 2 years of trying on our own unsuccessfully. Every month we have chosen a different hotel to stay in because we have not liked them or had bad experiences at them, or they smell bad. This place was different by a long shot. Yes they are currently doing some refreshing on the building, but even so, it's a beautiful building, those that work there are incredibly kind. The front desk staff were amazing, especially Jennifer! Breakfast was so nice. Everthing was clean and smelled nice. The only issue we experienced was that our neighbors in the room next to us were loud and rude at all hours slamming there door, but that's not a reflection of the hotel and we will be booking there if we require another stay.

Was a nice stay. When I originally went to check in the room wasn't ready due to maintenance needing to repair something but it was a short wait. However getting to the room, the dishwasher was going and just dumping soapy water all over the floor. Housekeeping was quick to clean it up however. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious.

Great breakfast buffet but that was the best thing about the stay. Pool and hot tub looked nice but bc they were outside and it was raining we didnt get to use them. We went out to the zoo and got back around 11pm and us and another car were circling the parking lot over and bc there were no parking spots. There were lots of kids running around and being loud and loud above my room early in the morning. And one kid burned hersellf on coffee at breakfast bc her parents werent paying attention. The sofa bed was not comfy and only big enough for one person. The light from the curtains was at a bad angle bc of the way the bed was situated. Even though the breakfast was good and the check in girl was very nice. I didnt like anything else we had to deal with. Ive stayed different places in grand rapids and liked other hotels better. Prob wont be going to this one again.

I stayed in a suite with a small kitchen. It looked to be well supplied, but I didn't have to do any cooking this time. Everything was clean and working well and comfortable. My only complaint was that the curtains could not be pulled over the windows. I was on the ground floor, where I felt I needed more than a sheer curtain for privacy at night.

Upon checking in it took Atleast 4 trips back to front desk before they could program hotel key properly so we could get in our room. The main tv only showed the guide and wouldn’t show any other channels. Finally got fixed the next day with an additional cable box. The exterior is beautiful, the interior needs updating. Hotel rm bathroom had very little space for items due to pedestal sink. Have stayed at a staybridge in different location and was much happier. Staff was polite and tried to be helpful. I think I would stay at a different hotel next time even with the full kitchen amenities.

The room at the hotel was fine but the walls are thin and you can hear people from the rooms around you and above you as they walk around in the room - very annoying. I asked for a receipt at checkout but she refused to give us one because we reserved with a third party company (Expedia) for the room. All the other hotels we stayed at regardless of how we reserved the room, gave us a receipt for our stay. We don't plan on staying at this hotel again.

The front desk was truly kind and helpful with check-in. The room itself was a let down. In comparison to the photos, the room was much smaller. Aside from that, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool was outside, which i wasnt aware. The breakfast was a full spread and good!

Very friendly staff was the first thing we noticed. The building itself had beautiful stonework throughout making it feel more grand. Pool & Hot tub were amazing. Free breakfast was awesome. Great selections (even included pop, if you’re into that). Room was huge with a full kitchen.

We absolutely love this hotel! It is beautiful, the breakfast is amazing and the staff is incredibly kind. I want to especially give a shout out to both Sarah and Aram. They were over-the-top kind and helpful! Sarah remembered that my mom was not doing well and even remember to ask me about that. I was so touched! We will definitely be back!

When we checked into our room around 5 PM, we could hear the TV in room adjacent to use through the wall. Since we were going out to dinner, we didn’t think too much about it. When we returned, you could hear the TV in the same room out in the hallway and again in our room. We thought by 10 or so the TV would be turned off. We attempted to go to sleep, but were soon awakened by the TV. At 3 AM, we called the front desk room to complain. The night manager informed us the room occupants were deaf, but she’d try to resolve the problem. We then heard someone pounding on the door of the adjacent room. The TV was turned down, but at 5:30 AM, we were awakened again by the TV. By 8:30 AM the noise continued. We showered, then discover the hairdryer was broken. We called the front desk and we’re told someone would bring us one. After 15 mins, my wife, with wet hair, went down to the front desk where the desk clerk and a room service person were chatting. She was told once again, that someone would bring us a hairdryer. One finally came. We the tried making coffee with room’s coffee machine, but it too was broken! We went down to breakfast and I stopped at the front desk to speak to the person in charge, THE SAME PERSON WHO HAD CHECKED US IN THE NIGHT BEFORE! She confirmed she knew the people in the room next to us were death. She said we should have requested to be moved at 3 AM! She said the hotel manager would have to call us. Left TX number…no call back!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. The manager took the time to visit with us and had some great recommendations. Accommodations were very clean and comfortable. The maintenance workers took such pride in cleaning…they were even cleaning the legs of the patio furniture. Would definitely stay again!

Staff was very nice and attentive. TV would not work in room, they moved us quickly. Large dog was accepted with no issues. It was a lovely room. Wish it had been summer so we could enjoy pool and hot tub. Breakfast was the best I ever had at a hotel!

Also, rooms were a bit dated, stained carpets, the options for breakfast were limited compared to other hotels. Also wanted to buy from the pantry after dinner (dessert for kids) but after waiting 15 min no one showed at the desk, so we just went back to the room. Wont be staying here again, esp with 20 other better options in a mile radius.

Overall great stay. Our room was very nice, well laid out, clean and well appointed. Quiet location but easy to get to everything. 4.5 stars only because the "manager's reception" only applies Mon-Wed, not all week, like the listing says. The breakfast was also not as good as we expected. There were plenty of options but some were low or out, the toaster barely worked, there were missing condiments. They were not busy at that time. Based on the photos, we were expecting a much better meal, but were a bit disappointed. However, we'd stay again!

The gardens and landscaping around this property were absolutely beautiful! So much attention to detail! The staff was very kind and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. There were so many options, including some very healthy protein selections. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for making our stay so very enjoyable.

Overall it was clean. Bathroom needed to be swept better, hair on floor. The breakfast bar should offer biscuits and gravy everyday and more options. The social hour is only Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I think it would be better all week. Didn't understand why it is not.
