I booked a room for 5 people only had two small beds, 1 person had to sleep on the floor. Only had two towels in the bathroom for us. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Wifi was terrible, only one channel worked on the TV. Ceiling tiles falling down in the bedroom entry way. Pool was smaller than it looked in the pictures. Room didn’t have a refrigerator in it.

They advertise a heated pool, so I rented a room because I was having a major fibromyalgia attack and the warm water would've helped. However, the pool is ice cold, and it's in an open area where the air is very cold as well… If I wasn't tired I would leave and go home tonight ...very disappointed !!!

The bar is permanently closed, and the hot tub has been removed. The pool is only open for very limited hours that do not work for guests who are only staying one night. There was no breakfast. These are major reasons why we went here and had we known this we would have gone elsewhere.

Had stayed there many times over the years and it was always perfect. However this time it was seriously disappointing! All restaurants in the hotel and on the grounds were now closed. Bar was open. Parking lots and entry road in deplorable condition. Potholes everywhere! Previously immaculate gardens in densely weeded condition. The hallways in the wing we were assigned had scraped off paint on the walls, stained rugs and smelled of mildew and what appeared to be "pot". When hotel told about the "pot" smell they just shrugged their shoulders and acted like it wasn't the 1st time they've heard it. Had to ask for additional towels as they only gave you 1 towel of each size for a 2 day stay per person. Did not use draws as they had a strong mildew odor. Didn't use the pool. On the plus side, room inside was clean and bed was very comfortable. Desk staff was pleasent put appeared apologetic. We were told hotel was being purchased and will be slowly upgraded. Lake view was still lovely even though the piers were damaged and unusable . Have great hope this property will someday be restored to its former glory.

I picked this location specifically because Expedia said they have a hot tub (with photos!) and I'd be walking around ALL DAY at the Brimfield flea market. They did NOT have a hot tub and removed it 4 years ago. The rooms were nice, beds were comfy, but if you get an atrium room (looking out to the pool and conference area) you will hear people pushing laundry carts and suitcase carts on the tile floors at 6-7am and it echoes and is very loud. No free coffee, except for the tiny machine in your room. You have to buy kcups from the vending machine and the employee at the front desk said that the kcup machine wasn't working.

This property is run down dirty and most of the on site dining facilities are closed. It appears no maintainance has been done to this property in some time. The parking lot is all broken up.

The hallway smelled very musty like there had been a roof leak and it was festering. The room itself was pretty clean but the bathroom was gross. There was black mold or mildew behind the toilet. Toilet top was dirty. This hotel has seen better days. The miniature golf course is a weedy field.

The staff was amazing and so helpful and friendly, that is where my satisfaction ended. The first room had a terrible smell, I was moved to a better one but was still dirty, run down with scratchy sheets and uncomfortable beds. Would not return

The website lies! The place is filthy in the rooms. No housekeeping my entire 3 day stay. Filthy toilet, water leaks, ceiling leaks, JUMPING SPIDERS in the bed in my face & on curtains, no lock to balcony, no restaurant, no breakfast as advertised, parties all over with half naked people till wee hours in the morning smoking weed, pool disgusting!! Was told I would get my stay refunded at checkout and then they only would do 1 day

Tub drain backed-up, no shower liner, coffee station's sugar and creamer were ancient (creamer was solid, sugar was all stuck together). Bottom drawer of the dresser was broken. On the good side, nice sized room, clean, very comfortable bed. Bathroom and room cleaniness was good!

The hallway had old dirty microwaves and mini fridges parked outside of rooms. The room smelled like old stale funk. Mattresses n Box spring felt lumpy and box spring dingy holes. Lobby was neat and interesting. But perhaps some other wings had updated rooms. I got a hot rate of $100. But thought it would be a bit better than finding hairs on bedspread. We didn’t shower got up and left asap.

I really wanted to like this hotel. It has so much potential. This place is so run down and outdated, it's sad. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant. She was definitely the best part of our stay. Our first room was disgusting. The hallway to the room smelled like mold/mildew. The room itself was very outdated and faced what looked like a parking lot for abandoned vehicles. Lamp broken, door lock broken. Smelled terrible. Requested a different room. Same lady put us in a different room. Still very pleasant and willing to change our room. New room...not much different than our first room. Hallway didn't stink like the first but it was very cold. Beds (boxspring/mattresses) were very old, stained and torn. Due to other reviews, I did check for bed bugs. Luckly none were found. One corner of the room smelled very strong of cat/dog urine. Must be a "pet friendly" room. Hot water for shower lasted about 5 minutes into it. NO FRIDGE OR MICROWAVE. They are available but you have to request them and they cost $10 extra a night. Parking lot was not cleared after previous snow storm which made parking and accessing hotel next to impossible. NO HOT TUB which was very disappointing. Long story short. I would NEVER stay here again.

The room was fine, clean, and neat but the property was not as described. There were limited TV options. The windows in the room's sliding doors (the only windows in thecroom) had fogged between the panes of glass, which obstructed the view of the lake. There was a water stain or mold stain on the ceiling. The building and grounds were run down and neglected. The dock was falling apart, the beach was super tiny, and many of the outside sitting areas were overgrown. There was absolutely no food available. None of the restaurants were open as noted in the listing. The bar was only open for a few hours due to a banjo conference. The staff wasn't at all apologetic or accomodating and kept telling people that they couldn't find staff to work and that the new owner was going to renovate the place - here's hoping...

Our bathroom was filthy. Hair in sink and tub,remnants of someone having brushed his/her teeth in the sink. This morning found a cockroach in the bathroom.The toilet had not been well cleaned. This hotel is past its prime about 30 yrs ago.

Front desk employees nice and accommodating. Our room was horrible- mold on ceilings and air vent. Unfinished Sheetrock on bathroom ceiling with mold, dirty everywhere. We asked for a new room. Staff was very accommodating. New room had cobwebs, moldy outlets, mold in blow dryer, rips on couch (wouldn’t sit on it any way) etc. Everything was so dirty, we wouldn’t even stand in tub to take a shower. We inspected mattress and that was clean.

This was marketed as the “executive suite” when I got there they said I have the “mini suite” There was no balcony, the “mini suite” was just a large king bed with a couch and two TVs. I said again that I was “excited to see what the executive suite was.” But, they just looked confused and said I booked the mini suite. I showed them my reservation, and then they gave me my room keys. The hotel is very old, not up to date with many of the hotels I usually stay in. I will most likely be staying elsewhere each year when I make a business trip to Sturbridge. I’m mostly disappointed that I spent extra money on a “executive suite” only to get a slightly larger king size room. No microwave, no fridge, and the faint smell of an old building. 4/10. Wouldn’t stay again.

Never stayed someplace without coffee. Bizarre. They had pods in a vending machine but ran out early in the stay. Very nice view, balcony overlooked a lake.

The hotel is in a lovely location. The room needs some updating. The carpet was old and the door to the room was banged up. The bathroom was clean and updated. There wasn’t a refrigerator or hair dryer. There wasn’t a rubber mat or anything available for the bathtub so it was slippery. It was difficult to get thru several doors with the luggage cart to get to the room.

The inside the lobby area is nice. The carpet in the hallways and in the rooms have a little bit of a smell to them. I was reasonably comfortable and I don't have a whole lot to complain about except that I wish that I had asked for a room on the exterior of the hotel because I wasn't swimming and all but could hear people in the interior of the resort in the pool and people going by with their luggage carts on the brick floors. It would've been quieter if I'd ask for an external room with simply a view of the lake. They didn't have the restaurant open inside either. The staff was nice enough. And mostly I was comfortable. But I would ask for a different room next time. Mainly because I like quiet and I wasn't swimming in the pool.
The inside the lobby area is nice. The carpet in the hallways and in the rooms have a little bit of a smell to them. I was reasonably comfortable and I don't have a whole lot to complain about except that I wish that I had asked for a room on the exterior of the hotel because I wasn't swimming and all but could hear people in the interior of the resort in the pool and people going by with their luggage carts on the brick floors. It would've been quieter if I'd ask for an external room with simply a view of the lake. They didn't have the restaurant open inside either. The staff was nice enough. And mostly I was comfortable. But I would ask for a different room next time. Mainly because I like quiet and I wasn't swimming in the pool.

Place needs to be updated. Room was big and dreary. A/C ran all night and the water spout for the tub was pulled away from the wall an inch. Lots of carpet everywhere. Beautiful grounds and conveniently located for the area though. For the price I'll most likely not return if other Hotels are available.

The room was fine, clean, and neat but the property was not as described. There were limited TV options. The windows in the room's sliding doors (the only windows in thecroom) had fogged between the panes of glass, which obstructed the view of the lake. There was a water stain or mold stain on the ceiling. The building and grounds were run down and neglected. The dock was falling apart, the beach was super tiny, and many of the outside sitting areas were overgrown. There was absolutely no food available. None of the restaurants were open as noted in the listing. The bar was only open for a few hours due to a banjo conference. The staff wasn't at all apologetic or accomodating and kept telling people that they couldn't find staff to work and that the new owner was going to renovate the place - here's hoping...

Hotel was located very close to Old Sturbridge Village. We came to town for the Antiques Road show filming there. We had a great first floor lake view room at a very reasonable rate. Staff was friendly and gave us a list of places to dine. Would stay again

Had stayed there many times over the years and it was always perfect. However this time it was seriously disappointing! All restaurants in the hotel and on the grounds were now closed. Bar was open. Parking lots and entry road in deplorable condition. Potholes everywhere! Previously immaculate gardens in densely weeded condition. The hallways in the wing we were assigned had scraped off paint on the walls, stained rugs and smelled of mildew and what appeared to be "pot". When hotel told about the "pot" smell they just shrugged their shoulders and acted like it wasn't the 1st time they've heard it. Had to ask for additional towels as they only gave you 1 towel of each size for a 2 day stay per person. Did not use draws as they had a strong mildew odor. Didn't use the pool. On the plus side, room inside was clean and bed was very comfortable. Desk staff was pleasent put appeared apologetic. We were told hotel was being purchased and will be slowly upgraded. Lake view was still lovely even though the piers were damaged and unusable . Have great hope this property will someday be restored to its former glory.

I really wanted to like this hotel. It has so much potential. This place is so run down and outdated, it's sad. The young lady who checked us in was very pleasant. She was definitely the best part of our stay. Our first room was disgusting. The hallway to the room smelled like mold/mildew. The room itself was very outdated and faced what looked like a parking lot for abandoned vehicles. Lamp broken, door lock broken. Smelled terrible. Requested a different room. Same lady put us in a different room. Still very pleasant and willing to change our room. New room...not much different than our first room. Hallway didn't stink like the first but it was very cold. Beds (boxspring/mattresses) were very old, stained and torn. Due to other reviews, I did check for bed bugs. Luckly none were found. One corner of the room smelled very strong of cat/dog urine. Must be a "pet friendly" room. Hot water for shower lasted about 5 minutes into it. NO FRIDGE OR MICROWAVE. They are available but you have to request them and they cost $10 extra a night. We stayed two nights. The first room we were in had no heat. Was blowing cold air out of a ceiling vent. But the service desk was so nice and accommodating and switched our room without a problem. Our second room had a big blob of poop on the outside of the bowl. And a dirty sink. But there was heat. There was a swinger event happening by the pool the entire time where our room was so that was interesting. We went to go to the convention room and the swinger event was having a full a hotel catered meal by the pool, with a buffet line, as we walked through the staff yelled at me and told us to go around, but theres not another way around from what I saw. So I kept walking. And in my opinion I was a guest of the hotel like anyone else and was unaware of a full event happening in the public pool area. Loud music doesn't bother me but there was a full band playing both nights right outside our pool side room that we paid extra for. If this hotel was 100$ or less I wouldn’t expect to much but at 250$ a night it was very steep for all that happening.

This hotel has amazing potential but is very run down at the moment. The pictures online are very deceiving. We checked into the Executive suite and were shocked at the conditions. There was black mold along the base of the bathtub, the ceiling paint was chipping and falling on our bed, the curtains were broken and falling, the list goes on. We went to the front desk with our concerns. The staff member Wendy was extremely helpful in trying to rectify the situation. She reassigned us to three different rooms until we settled on the least disgusting of the four we looked at. I realize that this hotel is under new management and is slowly being upgraded but it is not worth the amount we were charged for it. I would like to see compensation from them or from Hotels.com for the recommendation to stay here.

The staff is kind and so very helpful. Hotel is poorly maintained. The indoor pool was freezing. Restaurant was closed because of staffing issues. Luckily the location is very walkable for McDonalds, Burger King, and several other restaurants.

This may have been the worst hotel I've booked using Expedia. I chose this one because it indicated an onsite restaurant and pub plus another restaurant on the property. Both restaurants were closed and I don't think the pub exists. The beach was unkempt and covered with goose poop. The pool water was cloudy. The property and room was rundown and in dire need of a good cleaning and updating. Maybe they have nicer rooms on site, but ours was definitely not a nice room. The carpet looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. The shower water did not get very warm. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

No refrigerator or microwave in room which most other places I stay at have. Restaurant(s) were not open except for greenhouse for breakfast. Spent way to much on a frozen omelet, bad coffee and 2 Jimmy Dean sandwiches I could have gotten at the grocery store for a lot less. Gave this hotel a shot as I was participating in a craft show on the premises and was hoping it would have been upgraded since my last stay a year ago, but no changes. Sorry, will have to look elsewhere next year.

The web page said there was a restaurant on the property. When we arrived, we were told there was not and the web had not been updated. That was important for us. we would have gone to another hotel if we had known. Also, housekeeping only cleans the room every three days while you stay there. They should at least get the trash and see if you need anything.

Booking Ref # 72646706943264 Sturbridge, MA USA Fri, Sep 8 - Sat 9 I booked this hotel, for one night, based on the description and photos on your website. It was to be a treat for my wife's birthday. Check in is supposed to be 4pm. My wife and I had been playing golf and arrived at the hotel at approximately 5:30pm, ready for a shower, some food and a drink. We were told that our room was not ready and had to wait around until after 6 pm until we could get into the room. The two restaurants mentioned on your website do not exist. There was no food available at the hotel. The indoor 'heated' pool was very cold. Your website also shows pictures of a jacuzzi, which does not exist. After showering and going to a local restaurant to eat, we returned to the hotel around 9.30pm, planning to have a drink at the hotel bar. The bar was closed. There were patches of black mold on the bedroom ceiling. The balcony, looking over the lake was, in my opinion, unsafe. The wooden planks looked rotten, they were slippery and moved when I put my foot on them. The hotel decor and furniture are very tired and run down. The carpets are filthy and malodourous, particularly on the stairs and upstairs landings. Hotels.com has misrepresented the actual state of the hotel and the facilities that are available, and needs to update these. I paid over $200 for the room and feel badly let down. I am requesting a full refund as a goodwill gesture.
