Daytona Beach Hawaiian Inn

The only activities this “resort” has is a pool and 5-7 arcade machines. Everything they advertise like mini golf, spa, and shuffleboard isn’t there at all. The hotel is falling apart the doors to the room you have to slam them shut otherwise they pop open. Room 321 had a thermostat for the ac was from 1980 (not joking). The ac vent in the ceiling was caked with dirt like it hasn’t been cleaned since the resort opened in the 70s. The pull out sofa bed had mold on the mattress. All the outlets sparked when you tried to plug something up. The shower was horrible you might as well pour a water bottle over your head instead you’ll get more water pressure that way. The pool chairs are all broken and will fold up while you sitting on them. Stay away from this resort!!!! It’s absolutely disgusting!

Extremely dissatisfied. This property advertises as having two pools, a gift shop, mini golf, Hawaiian luau show all on property. We could only find the outdoor pool and it was out of order. The Hawaiian show? Out of order. Gift shop? Closed and empty. Mini golf on site? Nowhere to be found. The elevator only worked half the time to get to our room on the fifth floor. The room itself also was not as advertised as there was no coffeemaker (and when we asked we were told ‘they’re all broken, we can’t get that for you’). The shower head holder was broken and covered up so when one of us was showering, the handheld head fell and hit us in the back of the head. Pictures on the walls were covering up holes in the walls and doors. Our room door itself didn’t latch so if you didn’t have it deadbolted, it would just open up if you opened the balcony door. The stove in the room didn’t work, neither did the hairdryer provided in room. The toilet had to be flushed three times to get anything at all to go down fully. Anytime you approached the front desk to ask about anything, you just get stared at blankly with literally no response. We had to go down multiple times as even though we were clear on reservation there was five of us in a room that sleeps 6, they only gave us three towels and bed linens for the beds. We had to ask everyday for clean linens as there is no daily housekeeping, and we couldn’t get pillows for the sleeper sofa or flat sheets.

The pool was completely dug up , I should have been notified. No housekeeping.

We were not told that there would not be a pool or deck to sun on. no access to beach from hotel

We are repeat customers of Hawaiian Inn and it never disappoints which is why we continue booking here. The direct access to the beach is spot on, tiki bar is always a good time. They are usually able to accommodate my floor request and parking is plentifu! The bar staff does a great job, they are always fun to talk to!

I was disappointed with my 2-night stay in room 521. Initially, the separate bedroom, living, and kitchen spaces impressed me. However, the kitchen lacked basic amenities like dish soap and a dish rag, which I found surprising given the room's price. Things took a turn when my daughter found a mysterious pill on the bathroom floor. Further investigation revealed hair, rust, and filth around the toilet and baseboards, indicating poor cleaning. The kitchen had roach motels next to the microwave, and the couch was uncomfortable. Positives included the nice pillows, effective AC, and enjoyable pool area. However, the kiddie area's dirt and lack of amenities like mini golf were noticeable. The elevators were also concerning - one was broken, and the other felt unsteady with a poorly closing door. Despite the beautiful view and convenient location, this hotel needs renovation. The pool was the highlight, but overall, we won't be returning.

Everything was great except the restaurant downstairs was closed down.

Knew going in that this was an older establishment. That being said. The lobby and pool area were nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was pretty rough. Worn out mattress and bed frame. Sheets didnt fit. Door to the room would only open half way and had to be forced shut. Website really needs to be updated. Property no longer has the hot tub and mini golf course advertised on the web page. Direct beach access and the indoor heated pool were out of commission. Due to the recent hurricane. Not a big deal. But, would have been nice to have gotten a reply to my email before the trip asking about property conditions.

Been staying here since the 90's visiting my family that lives in the area. The outdoor pool area has been updated since the hurricane went through a few years ago. However, the heated pool isn’t heated anymore.The hotel itself is showing it's age and needs some updating. My biggest complaint would be the suppossed "HOA" owned parking lot. My son had his car literally on a tow truck coming back from lunch. He had to pay the guy $70 to keep from having it towed. No one told us we needed to have an extra parking pass. Seems kind of ridiculous since it was a Thursday and noone is fighting for parking spots. Kind of a racket. The tow truck driver conveniently only takes cash. Stayed here about 30 times. Probably going to look for another place to come visit after this.

The check in time is now 4pm, check out time is 10am. The pool hours are dawn until dusk. The tiki bar closes at 9pm.The kiddie pool has been filled in with dirt. The indoor heated pool is still out of service. Our room was 320. It had black mold on the curtain. The bed by the balcony had what looked to be throw up on it. The beds were about 5 inch spring mattresses and very uncomfortable. The mini fridge drip tray had an orange looking mold in it under the “freezer”, the bathroom tile had a crack that ran from the toilet to the wall. The shower nozzle when turned on is 1/4 inch from the wall and water drips down. I imagine there may be mold behind there as well. The air conditioner is not cold at all and there is no humidity control. The floor is tile so be careful with the condensation in the floor. We used a towel in the floor to travel around the room. The floor was pretty dirty for a room that had just been cleaned and the towels were almost black by the end of day 2. The only good thing about the hotel is the view of the ocean. I can say I don’t recommend the hotel and I won’t be staying there again.

Extremely dirty. Stained bedding. If you walked on tile floor in the room your feet would be completely black. We went and bought our own bedding. They ran out of toilet paper. Water was shut off for a morning. Just nasty place

Old, stinky, dirty, moldy tile in the shower, dingy shower curtain, dingy sheets, nothing on TV. Definitely not worth the money.

Rooms are outdated, not very clean, ac floods the carpets. Furniture broken or unusable

I have never left a bad review before. Our room was very dated, The room was dirty, hair in the bathtub from previous guests. Sheets were dirty, there was sand in the bed, floors were dirty. There were cigarettes butts on the floor of the balcony. We were on the 5th floor and the elevators were not working. Mold in the shower. It was absolutely the worst hotel experience ever!

We neverr got sny cleaning in our room the 4 nts we were tnere. The sheets were dirty with uriine stains on the sheets and every day we needed to go up to front desk because our keys didnt work. We gound dirty diaper behind the tv in living room and also empty water bottle too. Been comimg there for over 20 ye,ars and dont thimk we will ever come again

We have a very sentimental attachment to Hawaii and hoped this booking could be a close second. Turns out it's just another tired hotel on the beach. It has the Hawaiian look approaching it but walking up to the front door the front glass was dirty by a lot. The lobby was very tired and the restaurant was boarded up. Check-in was fine and the clerk even had a kind of Hawaiian look. The elevators are very old from the 60's or 70's. It even made strange noises going up and down. The room was decorated in a "funky beach" theme which did have it's charm and unusual decorative items but there were six (6!) different notices throughout the room basically saying if you take anything you will be charged...isn't that already assumed? It felt insulting and indicated to us the troubles they may be having. In addition you could tell,except for the bedding change there wasn't more of cleaning from the prior guest (such as a near empty roll of toilet paper, etc.). The bed was great however! Cost was on the pricy side because we were there for the Coke 400 race. You could tell they were operating with minimum help. They played country music in the lobby when they could have played Hawaiian music because they're the Hawaiian Inn. Would be no harm to wear Hawaiian shirts, etc. You could tell the glory days of past are way gone. It was probably great back then but now it's just another average hotel on the beach and the pool and beach access is great. Maybe what it's all about anyways.

The people were very nice but the facility (at least my room) was not clean. When I discovered what I believed to be cockroaches in my room the night attendant was very helpful in getting the situation resolved and my stay cancelled.

Floors were extremely dirty underneath the bed was covered with trash. It seem as if up under the bed haven’t been cleaned in months. Very quiet tho and friendly helpful staff. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The beach view!! Our room was in the center of the hotel. Gorgeous view!! The room was equipped with all the comforts of home, kitchen, dishes, pots enough for 4-6 people. I loved everything about the room...EXCEPT FOR ..our Room 516, we didn't like that the door didn't lock, and we had 2 small children. We had a balcony. I will visit again!

If the room didn’t have the view it did we would have changed hotels . The bed looked older than me and was not comfortable, and nothing had been updated in a very long time a lot of wasted potential

Room was awesome: clean, spacious, stocked. Ocean view was beautiful. Gift shop was reasonably priced. Grunt desk staff was incredible.

The staff at the front desk left us hanging for several hours for the second time this year after assuring us they were taking care of us. They forgot about us in March and again this time. If it were not for the pool/restaurant staff, we would probably not come back. Also, they left a dead rat at the exit from the pool area for several hours.

The worst experience. The staff in charge of the night shift was very rude to me and my mom. We arrived at 11:30 pm to check in and we had to wait more than 20 minutes because the boy WAS SLEEPING IN HIS WORK TIME when I had called early warning that we would be a little late because of the traffic. It gave us the noisiest room with a bad musty smell, the air filter was a sack. As if that room never went through a deep cleaning. We ended up with allergies. The only thing that was worth it was the comfort of the bed. The rest is a disaster.

Room wasn’t ready until almost 6pm. The housekeeper had an attitude and was fairly rude about the room not being ready. The interior doors to our room wouldn’t stay shut. The bathroom sink water pressure was

It was an awesome place to stay. The maintenance guy that was spraying the front entrance ways need a lesson in manners. Everyone else was great.

From the moment we arrived, Sabrina at the front desk was AMAZING!! It was my birthday and we got to check in a little early. We were missing the coffee pot and she made sure we got one. Super Dave and the staff at the Tiki Hut were also great. I had the best fish basket I have had in years. Everyone there was having a blast, which made our time even more enjoyable. Thanks!! We will be back.

The room was not cleaned and bed made when we checked in. The house keeping did it while we were in the room. Also the accidental charge got put on and never returned for $75 dollars.

The property is well located being able to walk to restaurants close by.

The ocean view was amazing! We enjoyed the pool & ocean. Having the Tiki bar, gift shop & arcade onsite were an added plus! It’s a bit dated but we had a great time!

We loved the view. But we couldn’t enjoy our balcony or the pool because of people smoking weed. That’s all you could smell. Our room really needed to be updated. The nicest part was the pool and the views you had but I don’t understand why people allow this to go on. The parking lot was very dark. And to have so many rules and such a big deposit on the room it needs to be updated.

Was a wonderful little low key and reasonably priced place to visit. Located on the beach. I would definitely recommend!

Front deck staff, especially Selena, were very nice It is an older place and still recovering from the Hurricanes 2 years ago as is most of Daytona beach The view from my balcony was great especially at sunrise I would definitely stay there again

Keep in mind this place has been hit hard by hurricanes it needs a little bit of help but the room was big The view was amazing and the staff at the front desk were very nice and they also offer night security in the parking lot... You have access to the beach I still cannot get over what an amazing view it has it has a nice outside pool and indoor games for the kids. And a nice little gift shop to get last minute souvenirs

View was great, we got there at 1pm, our room was ready, just missed towels. Needed an extra bed, they didn't have it. Needed extra blankets the lady at the lobby could not leave to bring us any blankets so we had to go get them ourselves. Never got towels even after 4pm. Never got them at all. They definitely need an upgrade. Went to get food from tiki bar but they had an hour wait. But great location. And we liked the pool

This place needs alot of updating its building/rooms etc but other than that i didnt have a bad experience with staff like previous reviews or feel unsafe. Beautiful view from balcony to beach area and pool. Bar staff was super sweet but could use more help. Overall i enjoyed my stay.

This is 3rd or 4th time staying here. Overall, very pleased, and will stay again. Only thing is, it’s half hotel, half condo. It has pots and pans, but no dish soap or dishrags. My compliments to the bartender/cooks at tiki bar who were always pleasant when ordering. Reasonable burgers and chicken baskets for 10$.

We had an amazing family trip. Everyone wa amazinc. The drinks at tiki bar was on point. The Shirley temples for the kids was yummy. Thanks for the memories

Overall cleansiness of the room was not great. Toilet, floor and stove dirty. Although kitchenette no utensils, or cookware available. Microwave didn't work. Room on ground floor, loved location of the room and amenities. Staff friendly. Tiki bar has good food and prices.

This place completely sucks! Not as advertised at all! No house keeping, no pool, no hot tub, no coffee, no shampoo, no clean towels, and the towels are old and hard, filthy bedspread, no blankets and never changed the sheets or towels. Tv was horrible, saw cockroaches in the kitchen, elevator was like a freight elevator and filthy! Phone doesn’t work! Air conditioner was loud and smelly! Whole experience was terrible, after a couple days finally had time to change hotels and couldn’t wait to get out of there! We ended up going to a very very nice place and it was cheaper than this hell hole!
