Howard Johnson by Wyndham Dothan

I have a lot of pics i can post. First, there is NO breakfast bar or coffee. There is no bar in the shower. The pool is green. There was a used condom on the ground right as we stepped out to go into our room. We got charged an extra 40 bucks for pets when it should have been listed on expedia and wasn't (says pet friendly, should be listed they charge for that in the booking!). The room was dirty, musky, the plugs covered, drugs on the counter, something sprayed on the wall in the bathroom, crap in the sink and toilet... this feels like a 30 dollar a night HOtel... Oh, other than the musky smell, the AC, fridge, and microeave worked. Bed was comfy.

Book for a one night stay. Check-in went normal. The guy who checked me in stated the pool closes at 9 pm. I was excited to hear that because it's been hot as heck. Drove to the building where my room was (#217). Grabbed our bags and headed up the stairs. Smelt like spoiled liquor (if there's such a a smell) and it definitely wasn't clean. Trash left and right. Don't grab a hold of the hand rails unless you like the feel of spiderwebs. Yuck! Unlocked the room and walked in. Musty smell. Thankfully I always pack a fresh can of Febreze and scented candle. Immediately turned the AC on high as low as it would go (60°). Then sprayed the room HEAVILY with the Febreze and lit the candle . Opened the mini fridge to put some take out food bought at Shoneys, and it contained old food left behind. Oh well, just put it in the microwave to hold, but it was nasty inside as well. Went to the bathroom. Actually surprised it was decently clean. Flush the toilet. If you need to reflush, you had to wait 6-8 minutes for the take to refill. Turned on the TV...no connection. Had to call the front desk. Was informed maintainance would be there in 30 minutes. An hour later he came. Fought with it and finally got it going. Went to the pool to relax. #LMAO Wrong again. The water was a sickly looking green. Went to watch a movie, got back. Room finally cooled enough to stay. Got a halfway decent nap and couldn't wait to check out. Right outside the office someone selling drugs. Total disaster!

The hotel is terrible. They list ammenities they do not have. We went to get the continental breakfast that they no longer offer. No extra linens unless you catch housekeeping. Ice machine didnt work and there was metal exposed in our room on the walls. The website pictures are very deceiving

This was the worst hotel I've ever been at. The rooms were not the pictures that we were shown. The pool was so dirty you couldn't see down it. It was just horrendous. The sink had a huge hole in it. The drawers on the dresser were falling off. It advertised free breakfast. There was nothing at all and we were there at 7:30 in the morning.

Very dirty bugs were not told that the pool was not able to use was not told no breakfast

Nothing like what the pictures showed. Stains on the walls. Bathroom stank and no vent for when taking a shower. Only one little trash can in the room for 4 people. Pool was GREEN. Had not been treated. Floors not swept before we got there. Beds was comfortable and the employee that came around to change towels was very nice. But I wish we had stayed at the Motel 6 that we stayed at the last time in Dothan Alabama.

There was no fridge in the room and the pool was shut down

Everything was fine, except that the dryer in the laundry room did not work. I think the heating element has gone out. My clothes were in there for over an hour and were still cold and wet

It was a good stay for the price. The 1st night the pool was closed but they opened it the next day. Rooms were clean, people were friendly & conveniently located. Overall a good stay.

I reserved tvis room because it said that their was a pool and breakfast. Most of the time I am traveling with kids. The pool is good after along day in the car and breakfast is good to get fueled for the day. On the app it saysthere were both. When we got there the pool was empty and lookedthat way for awhile. And the front desk clerk saidthere was no breakfast. There were more long term rooms then there were regular rooms. I would definitely not recommend staying here.

Burnt holes in bedding, flies everywhere, just dirty

The "handicapped accessible nroom" was a death trap for a non handicapped person. No grab bars and a slippery shower floor. Then causing tha bathroom floor to flood making the whole floor slick. No raised toilet. The floors were nasty, sandy & sticky throughout the room.

Found several bugs on bed and in the room. Bed was very uncomfortable mattress needs replaced. Shower leaked water everywhere and the handle for the shower was hard to turn on. Walls in the room had plaster on them. The refrigerator door was broken.

The rooms were disgusting. They were filthy, the bed sheets had dirty spots and hairs on them. The table had ketchup dried on it and the couch was stained and had food under the cushion. The utility closet contained someone’s shoes. The tub/shower had cigarette burns and was dirty. The whole room smelled of stale cigarettes and I had requested non smoking rooms. We were unable to stay due to the filth and had to find lodging elsewhere.

Multiple cockroaches in room

First of all it had nasty sheets the sheets was not even clean the bathtub look like it was gross it had all black stuff in the bottom of it couldn't even take a bath there was only eight channels on the TV you could hear people fighting all night long they said that they serve breakfast and they don't

This place needs to be torn down. The room had repaired holes in the walls. Was not fixed properly. The toilet leaked water all over the floor when flushed . Mirrors not clean, mattress was so lumpy and dipped I think it hadn't been changed in years. The hotel site did not stay that they had permanent residents living there either. Would not recommend.

Had to check out because of bugs and cleanliness. Property was very bad and trash overflowing and drug needles by stairs. Do not recommend to anyone. Will be asking for refund.

Upon check in we found slices of bread in the drawer, dried globs of putty in the tub, mold in refrigerator with seal molded too and falling apart, fixtures laying on sink with part of it still attached to wall, AC grid coming off and dangling , only two towel sets for room booked for four, smoking room when booked non-smoking, green pool and piles and piles of clothing and household goods thrown over the balcony onto the property’s ground. Unbelievable and Disgusting! When asked the front desk, “Would you stay here?” He replied, “Can’t answer that because on camera and don’t want to lose my job.” The other front desk man said, “our manager posts pictures from other HJ hotels on the site. The pictures you saw are not this location. Additionally, there is no breakfast area or breakfast as stated on website.” Will NEVER stay at a Wyndham hotel again!

The front desk associate Tim was very helpful and professional. However this property needs a serious renovation. There was dirt on the walls and stains on the bed. I woke up with weird bites on my right arm. Housekeeping tried to enter my room 30 minutes before check out even though they could see me thru the window. The shower was good though and hot. Overall I would not stay again.

The toilet in the bathroom would throw you off it was so loose. There were no toilet paper in the bathroom and no wash rags in the bathroom. The fridge made a noise all night. There were old burn marks in the blanket and on dried blood marks on the sheets and they appeared to be dirty looking. The room next to us 224 partied all night and had company all night. They had such a strong weed smell that we smelled it in our room next to them and when you walked by their room.

Other than the cleanliness n the outlets being broken, the bed was comfy n the staff was nice

Had drunk people knocking on the doors all night and calling the room all night. I’m guessing people live there full time.

We booked a queen room which was clean and comfortable but very small with no sofa or table. Staff offered to change second day stay to a room with a sofa and table.

the doors didn’t shut all the way. you had to make sure they were closed completely. the locks were subpar. there had to have been a wild boar in the room above me because there was running all throughout the night. people loitering in the parking lot asking for money. the last morning of my stay, I was getting dressed about to go checkout and someone knocked on the door. I didn’t answer because I was in the bathroom getting dressed. when I came out the person literally was pushing the door open. luckily I had a chair in front of the door so they couldnt get in easily.

It appeared that there were many weekly renters. People hanging around outside. Small thin towels and very cheap soap and shampoo. The room was clean but very cheap amenities. No breakfast or coffee. No internet. Desk clerk had some show on his laptop with a man shouting the f bomb. Not impressed.

Floor was not clean needed to be vaccum. The room was supposed to be a non smoking room but definitely had been smoked in. Daughter could not stay in room causing her to have an asthma attack and had to stay in another room. The bed spread had burn holes in it.

So noisy. There were labor workers that were super loud all night.

You can hear the noise from the neighbors and everything around you. Lack of cleanliness and maintenance. The breakfast they advertise is only coffee from a machine. The staff is very kind and friendly.

The overall stay was good. The front is clean and presentable, however the back of the hotel could use some cleaning in the outdoors area. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean and comfortable.

The staff was very kind. I was in town due to a illness in my family. I had to stay an extra night. The first night my air was not cooling properly so they moved me to another room so i would be comfortable. I really appreciated the effoirt they put in t making sure i was comfortable for the evening. I will stay here again.

First room they gave us had a puddle of water by the ac unit, I waked back to check the bathroom and water dripped on my head (was an overflowed toilet from room above ) They moved us to another room and when we walked in the floor was very dirty and had a strong odor of poop! We told one of the housekeepers and they came and did a quick clean up of the room and changed the bed sheets which should have been done already. Later that day the toilet stopped up and almost over flowed, had to get someone with a plunger to come and fix that. They advertised on website room coffee makers but there wasn’t one ( they gave us one then ). No breakfast at all but I wouldn’t have wanted to eat there anyway. At least no roaches. Wyndham should not associate their name with Howard Johnson’s. We booked 2 nites but left the next morning, was told by desk clerk they could not refund our money. Overall a nasty place to stay

One of the staff members were lurking around like a creep and the room service staff did not listen to request

When booking the room it did not state smoking, but upon checking in we were told it was a smoking room and it was the only room available. Room was filthy, door would slightly open when other doors were slammed and it look like blood was smirred on the back of the door. My kids were scared in the room and we could not handle the smoke smell and left after being there for 10 minutes. We asked for a refund and the manager would not lets us in the lobby and said I’ll see what I can do. However, no refund has been given at this juncture.

Sketchy people moving around in parking lot. Went to front desk to ask about hot water. Others were checking in and guy behind counter hollered “you’re in room 313 right?” I said “sir you just made it perfectly clear to strangers what room I’m staying in!!!!” We then left. It was horrible.

I didn't like the fact that they put me away in the back of the hotel and I'm a single woman and I just got out of the hospital and I wish they would put me up toward more the front where I feel a little bit more safer that's all

Tim is a gift. He is funny, helpful and has great customer service skills. The only thing I would change is that there is a lot of furniture, etc set next to the dumpster.

Good location

We ended leaving after checking in because of feeling unsafe. There was suspicious activities outside our room.

Property was very outdated. There was no continental breakfast due to renovations we were told. The couch and foot stool were very dirty the furniture looked like it came from a yard sale. The sink was cracked and indented. For the price and just staying to sleep halfway to our destination it surficed. Staff at desk was very friendly. Overall you get what you pay for and pictures can be decieving.

Got a single non smoking room, walked in and it smelled like a cigarette. Pictures are deceiving, the bed was very thin and uncomfortable. No complimentary breakfast like expedia said, only very bad coffee. Tje staf was very polite though.

The pool was nice, the check in desk guy was nice, the room was clean. There is basically a single snack cake per person as “breakfast” but we didn’t care.

In ad it stated breakfast included, there is no breakfast, just coffee.

No breakfast like advertised on the web, coffee only, ran out of creamer and took 5 days to get more . First room was trash, TV didn't work, and toilet was loose from the floor, door wouldn't close tight enough to lock it, asked for another room and after 5 hours was given one, which was much better
