This hotel is located on the second floor of an old building close to the Repubblica metro station. It is also within walking distance from the Roma Termini station. The location is very convenient, with bus access to the Vatican and other sights right downstairs. There is a MacDonald’s and numerous restaurants downstairs from the property, and the area did not feel particularly unsafe at night. The building is in an unfortunate state right around now (September 2024) as there appears to be some sort of renovation construction going on one floor down, so the building looks quite shady and unclean, which is made worse by the construction workers who are smoking around the elevator. The hotel itself was clearly renovated recently and has some clean and new floor tiles and ikea cabinets, etc., and the rooms are quite big for the location. The AC worked quite well once I managed to figure out how to use it. However, the renovation does not adequately hide the fact that the property is fairly old and run down. This shows in the walls, windows and doors (which were not at all soundproof), and particularly the bathrooms. My shower did not drain properly so I stood in ankle-deep water whenever I took a shower, and the toilet is awkwardly tucked away behind the sink, which may be an issue if you have longer legs. Overall, I thought this was an acceptable stay, but it is definitely not the “excellent” rating that this hotel currently is on Expedia.

The location was convenient to the rail station and the airport buses, as well as dining and sightseeing. The only issue we had was trying to find the property because the signage was very small and the entrance didn’t look like the entrance to the hotel as two other hotels were advertised with big signage at the same location and there was some renovation work going on the bottom floor.

It was walkable to everything we wanted to see in Rome, and there were restaurants and stores nearby. The staff were friendly, our room was very spacious and clean. The building looked like it was still being renovated in places but it was quiet and it was tidy.

Great places to eat all around. Metro 1/2 block away. Walkable to some sightseeing. A/C didn’t work well and elevator went out for 1/2 day. Hard on my 90yr old mom.

Domus is a small hotel within a much larger building which is being refurbished. So some noise/dust in the entry way of the building. Elevator is small. Reception staff, especially Francisco was very welcoming and helpful. Room is a good size w/nice size tv. Bed is a bit on the firm side for me. Otherwise hotel is good value in a great location. JQ

The staff on reception were very helpful & let us check in early. The lift was broken when we arrived so we had to lug our suitcases up to the fifth floor in a heatwave in the middle of the day. The lift was fixed that day. The Wi-Fi was patchy but okay. Room was basic but had everything we needed. The view from our balcony was great and the location is very convenient. Would stay again.

I will express my deep dosappointment again here, as there is NO! indication, as to what real condition this so called Hotel Domus Rome *** is in. A total building site with work starting at 8AM .. with a mon existant outside Hotel name .. it is only through the street number one finds the respective building that sports two other no longer existing hotel names.the evening front attendant is moudsy to.the point of knowing thst their guests are already disapointed with the whole path leading to the second floor a mess. FINE, if one knew, but there is no indication on the booking sites that you book a room in a builing site. Noise starts at 8AM.The rooms are not at their freshest look and not what Hotel mgmt wants you to believe: a magical modern lace in the eternal City .. certainly not a beautiful place. Lift your game. The prices are too high for this appointment .. maybe when the renovations are finished. I feel like I am just used to basically co finance what the owners dream is. I feel wronged .. shame on you guys (whom are not present on location ..for that front job they put pior staff who exactly know, that this is not what it us made out to be. Shame..shame Rol

When I arrived the smell of the room was terrible I had to open the window. I used my own perfume to level the smell. When I went to the bathroom was worsen so I realized that bad odor came from there, it's like sewage strong smell. I had to think twice before using the bathroom.

O hotel é péssimo, nada condizente com as fotos do site. Das quatro noites que passei, pelo menos 3 tinha lixo espalhado (até mesmo fezes!) na entrada do hotel (parte de dentro). Inadmissível um hotel em tal localização, central e numa importante avenida da cidade, ter esse problema. Em relação ao quarto, a área de banho é muito pequena e estava com o ralo entupido, com a água transbordando sempre para o banheiro. Os colaboradores, diferentemente do hotel, muito gentis e educados. Resumindo, avalio como ruim a estadia.

Loved this place! I was able to check in early, the staff is super friendly and the place was very clean. My husband and I stayed 2 nights here and will definitely recommend this place to everyone. We loved our room, the bed was comfortable and decor is nice, we also had ac that worked. Our room had a balcony and it was super cute to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The location is perfect, walking distance to multiple restaurants, historical sights, and shopping. We want to come back one day and will be staying here again!

Remarkable that issues with noise at the property are not reported in previous reviews on line - makes me wonder whether previous reviews are accurate. There is no sound proofing of the rooms that blocks out street traffic noise on the main road and then load music from local bars up until midnight and then loud noise of people in the street after the bars close. Otherwise the property is an ok venue.

The photos advertised are jot what the place looks like inside. Cracked tiles, room so small you can touch the walls form sitting on the bed. Table and wardrobe in the room but doors of wardrobe hit bed so couldnt fully open, same with table chair under table but unable to pull out because of bed. Very cramped.

The hotel was in a great location and the staff were very friendly! The downsides were that the bed and pillows were rock hard and there was a party going on, at the bar across the street, until 2 a.m.

Check-in was excellent! We arrived early and they held our luggage for us without any problems. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning didn’t work the best, but otherwise it was a good stay for a reasonable price.

Upon check-in, we were greeted by Luca at the front desk. He was very friendly and informative, providing maps and directions for us. The room had been recently renovated, the linens, bed and pillows were all very comfortable. The hotel seemed to be very clean. A strange thing though, our room was up on the fifth floor and they had the security door on that floor locked. We couldn’t get out. We had to use an extra key to unlock the main doors to the floor to exit in the morning. It was a difficult to use the key and unlock the floor security doors. Its not a good idea in case of emergency or fire. They put us in a wheelchair accessible room, which we did not need. It had a roll in shower with no walls. Every time we showered, we ended up flooding the bathroom. We walked from the train station and it was difficult to find the hotel.

Hotel was great, but there was a pub across the street that plays loud music until 1am so if you want sleep then head somewhere else.

The staff at Hotel Domus were super nice and super helpful. The hotel is located at a great central location, pretty close to most of the sites a tourist would want to visit. It's in an old building which houses a few hotels and was a little confusing at first.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The first room I was given had a terrible AC smell, and when I asked to be moved, the front desk staff seemed annoyed rather than accommodating. While I was out, my belongings were removed without notice and left unattended behind a divider in the lobby, which felt careless and unprofessional. I was then sent to another room with the wrong key, only to discover the AC there was broken and leaking, before being placed back in the previous room. The repeated room issues and, most importantly, the mishandling of my belongings made this stay far below expectations.

Luca was an amazing and accommodating host!! He was friendly and respectful and patient with us throughout our stay, answering all questions and making recommendations. He was the best part of the stay. The room needed maintenance work but I wouldn’t reduce the rating. Luca made our stay memorable! Eight days in Italy and this was the best

En general la habitacion aceptable, el area donde se encuentra el hotel tiene una excelente comunicacion, puntos a mejorar, en el acceso hay contenedores de basura que aunque esta separada es un mal aspecto y olor para los que pasamos por ahi para acceder al ascensor. Otro punto y no menos importante, hay que poner sillas y maletas atras de la puerta, pues en el primer dia alguien o mas gente se metio a la habitacion y nos robaron identificaciones, tarjetas, pasaportes y dinero y estuvieron usando las tarjetas en los comercios alrededor del hotel, la gente del hotel no se hizo responsable y no aceptaron que no tienen control sobre accesos, solo hay una camara en cada piso al entrar, no en los pasillos. definitivamente no recomiendo el lugar hasta que tengan camaras.

Otro punto y no menos importante, hay que poner sillas y maletas atras de la puerta, pues en el primer dia alguien o mas gente se metio a la habitacion y nos robaron identificaciones, tarjetas, pasaportes y dinero y estuvieron usando las tarjetas en los comercios alrededor del hotel, la gente del hotel no se hizo responsable y no aceptaron que no tienen control sobre accesos, solo hay una camara en cada piso al entrar, no en los pasillos. definitivamente no recomiendo el lugar hasta que tengan camaras.

Domus is a small hotel within a much larger building which is being refurbished. So some noise/dust in the entry way of the building. Elevator is small. Reception staff, especially Francisco was very welcoming and helpful. Room is a good size w/nice size tv. Bed is a bit on the firm side for me. Otherwise hotel is good value in a great location. JQ

Loved this place! I was able to check in early, the staff is super friendly and the place was very clean. My husband and I stayed 2 nights here and will definitely recommend this place to everyone. We loved our room, the bed was comfortable and decor is nice, we also had ac that worked. Our room had a balcony and it was super cute to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The location is perfect, walking distance to multiple restaurants, historical sights, and shopping. We want to come back one day and will be staying here again!

I booked Hotel Domus in Rome because we had stayed on Via Nazionale before, and it was highly rated. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the start. The entrance was hard to find, dimly lit, run-down, and had a foul smell. The hotel is located on the second floor, and the room was extremely basic. The bathroom was the worst—smelly, with no exhaust, broken fixtures, and the shower faucet didn’t work. When I informed the receptionist, he confirmed the shower was broken but did nothing to address the issue. They had contacted me earlier asking for my check-in time, so they had ample time to inspect the room before my arrival at 8:30 pm, but clearly failed to do so. The receptionist, who’s the only person around, charged me for city tax, and then informed us that there were no rooms available for a family of three. He offered to have a service team fix the bathroom but spent over half an hour staring at his phone, waiting for his manager. He refused to provide his manager’s name and falsely claimed we declined an alternative room at another location. My family refused to stay, and when I requested a refund for the city tax, he delayed it by another half hour eventually handing me cash without a receipt. Hotel muito bom, nos atendeu muito bem, espaço amplo, com frigobar. A localização é boa, da pra fazer quase tudo a pé em torno de 15 a 30 minutos de alguns pontos turísticos. O ponto de ônibus é bem na frente do hotel. Pra quem não gosta de barulho a noite o hotel é bem ao lado de um bar que toca músicas altas até tarde. Não nos incomodou pois chegávamos bem cansados e dormíamos rápido. A verdação da janela era boa, reduzia um pouco dos barulhos da rua.

This hotel is located on the second floor of an old building close to the Repubblica metro station. It is also within walking distance from the Roma Termini station. The location is very convenient, with bus access to the Vatican and other sights right downstairs. There is a MacDonald’s and numerous restaurants downstairs from the property, and the area did not feel particularly unsafe at night. The building is in an unfortunate state right around now (September 2024) as there appears to be some sort of renovation construction going on one floor down, so the building looks quite shady and unclean, which is made worse by the construction workers who are smoking around the elevator. The hotel itself was clearly renovated recently and has some clean and new floor tiles and ikea cabinets, etc., and the rooms are quite big for the location. The AC worked quite well once I managed to figure out how to use it. However, the renovation does not adequately hide the fact that the property is fairly old and run down. This shows in the walls, windows and doors (which were not at all soundproof), and particularly the bathrooms. My shower did not drain properly so I stood in ankle-deep water whenever I took a shower, and the toilet is awkwardly tucked away behind the sink, which may be an issue if you have longer legs. Overall, I thought this was an acceptable stay, but it is definitely not the “excellent” rating that this hotel currently is on Expedia.

Excellent hotel to stay. This hotel is very convenient located. The Major bus stops are practically in front of the hotel. The Metro station is about 3 minutes from hotel. The Trevi fountain is located about 15 minutes walk ( if you prefer yo can take bus); the Vatican is relatively close or you can take the bus 64 to Dan Petro. In relation to the hotel is clean, nice bedroom. In conclusion, excellent hotel for the price!

It’s near the train station which was great for taking to the airport. It didn’t feel like the safest area, but we didn’t have any problems. There was a rocking bar just down the street which was fun to watch from our room.

Overall good stay. Mc Donalds open right on corner with great breakfast and excellent cappuccino and espresso options. Toilet on our 5 th floor had issues flushing. Bar on corner was playing loud music which was lively atmosphere unless you trying to sleep at 1 am.

PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I had a terrible experience the few days that I was there. The AC hardly works (which is terrible with Rome's 30+ degrees weather). The AC would probably only get to 25/26 despite me setting it to 16. When I let the front desk know, they sent a maintenance person who said "no this is 16 degrees." I know what 16 degrees feels like and that was not it! They also gave me the wrong room, I booked a room with two beds and my room only had one and didn't look like the picture. When I let the front desk know, she again tried to gaslight me and put the blame on me. She said "you didn't request a triple room" when that's literally what I booked! I had the pictures and screenshots and description. There is also a loud bar nearby that plays music well into midnight, that's so loud that you can hear it through closed windows. Also the window was broken! They had to get a maintenance person to come fix my broken window which wouldn't lock. Also, the above-the-head showerhead wouldn't turn on no matter what we did. Every time I went to the front desk, they dismissed my problems and tried to blame me. Terrible terrible customer service. Even when I was first checking in, the front desk girl asked me to pay the city tax. Another employee (male) that was with her looked over at my mom and told the front desk girl to charge us more. She again asked me if there were only two people staying in the room. What?? We were only two people in the lobby. Very rude.
