Great location. In the centre of town. The hotel could do with being updated. Don’t think you should have to pay for parking @ $15 a night if you are staying at the hotel.

Good sized room , did not eat so can’t comment on food . Parking is limited but pay car park very close

You can’t beat the location for the price that we paid! That being said there is no AC, just a fan so it will be hot in the summer. Also we faced the back and the bar behind us was loud until at least 2300, 2/3 nights we stayed as we needed the window open for the breeze. Staff were all friendly and lovely and you can walk to anything you need in Harrogate.

Lovely hotel. Breakfast very good. Parking few mins away. Get there early to get space. Hotel parking only few places. At front of hotel. Spaces get booked quickly ☺️

Beautiful building with history and character. Very clean, good breakfast and friendly staff. It is a shame that there is no free parking for guests, apart from that, a lovely visit, thank you.

Grand old building in a great location. Spacious room & bathroom. No air con & although a fan was provided the room was stifling in hot weather - the sash windows only opened a few inches. Comfortable bed. Bathroom was nice but a soft close toilet seat, and even better one that would stay up whilst the toilet was being used by gentlemen (!), would make a big difference. No USB ports in room but there were a few plug sockets. We tried 2 of the bars, both very nice & prices as you would expect in a hotel. Parking was a little pricey at £15, but then we did appreciate being able to park close to the entrance so for us it was worth it. Would stay again, although maybe not during a heatwave!

Good central position. Small car park but was able to get a place. Good value for money.

Parking very limited but luckily got a space. Double room (not comfort double room as they are smaller) was big and had a very large bathroom. However no drawers at all for clothes and a small wardrobe. No room service at all after 9pm - not even a sandwich. Loud music played in rooms was not dealt with. Random person running and shouting up and down the corridor for half hour from about 1am on the second night - so basically security not up to much. Staff were friendly. Bar was ok but pricey, plenty of better bars very nearby. Excellent location. Recommend Brimham rocks for a unique day out.

Property is centrally located. Parking is very limited and on a first come basis unless you pay premium parking at £15 per night, booked on advance. Breakfast ok but nothing special . Coffee machine and coffee bland. Queues at t h e single toaster. Continental breakfast very poor. Awkward step in room. There is a sign but in the middle of the night will you remember. I slipped on mat in bath and bruised my knee. Safety handles t here saved it being much worse. Public areas well kept. Did not have dinner so unable to comment

Overall a very nice clean and excellent location for Harrogate. The breakfast was really good and all the staff very helpful and friendly.

The bathroom in our room was dirty and the wood panelling was rotten

The place is amazing. The cleanliness second to none. Lovely staff...all very polite and courteous. Loved our stay and the place is so full of character. Beautiful plasterwork and decorations.

Room 353 was very dated and in need of a refurb. The shower was poor, luke warm water with very little pressure. There were also a few wood lice in the bathroom. The room was very hot with a lack of ventilation. Reception staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in a double room which was cute and comfortable and had a full bath which I personally love. Staff was nice and the location could not have been better. Two negatives for me though - the room carpet was filthy. It absolutely needed one of those wet deep cleans - the hallways were fine but the bedroom rug was very dusty and dirty - I was glad I had brought disposable slippers from another hotel. Second the set dinner is not particularly good. I got the three course on my last night and the chocolate cake tasted like bday cake leftovers that have been drying out in the fridge for a week. Plenty to eat in the area, skip the hotel restaurant even though it’s a pretty good price.

The room was spotless along with the bathroom too, and the breakfast was amazing. I would definitely recommend going there again, many thanks to your staff from Dean and Anna Kershaw.

Beautiful building with lots of history, spotlessly clean. Quiet and within walking distance to the town centre. Smaller room than expected but had everything needed, including a fan in the cupboard which was great to see as the room was very warm and front windows didn’t open far. Reception staff very helpful, and barman was friendly and chatty making it a pleasant experience. I would definitely stay here again.

It wasnt untill we were packing to come home we noticed dry blood stains under the pillow, not a lot but it was there

Room 369:The bed was against the wall one side so one of us had to climb over the other to get in bed and out. There was only one light, on the table side so getting up in the night was not good. The shower was just adequate. Shower head needs some adjustment.

Internet access is public and not secure.

The room was small, but was a budget one, it was very hot even with the window open and a fan on due to it being a very hot day. I found it hard to get in and out of bed due to one side being right up to the wall. The soap dispensers in the bathroom were not very good either, but in general the room was good value for what we paid for it !!!

Our room was spacious and comfortable, although the walls are made of paper and we had noisy neighbours at night, we did call reception and they acted quicky to speak to them. Breakfast was good, in a grand room. Overall, we would stay again.

Can’t beat the central location. Main reception and bar areas are very grand. The rest of the areas up to the rooms are definitely showing their age. Rooms quite dark and walls are very thin for noise from other rooms

Nice old hotel in the centre of Harrogate with limited parking available. On check-in was allocated room #138 - the noise and vibration from the kitchen extraction fan outside the window was extreme 43dB - 50dB. Was informed by receptionist that it should turn off when the kitchen closed. Mercifully they kindly offered us another room #265 - worlds apart from #138 and a peaceful room at <20dB

Beautiful building but in need of some TLC The room had some peeling decoration and the bath panelling was loose in places Bed was quite comfortable and I slept well Reception was always manned and had to wait twice for assistance

Hotel bedrooms need updating. Window could not be open and no air conditioning. However overall it was a bargain stay and we would stay there again.

Stay was very good. Had just one glitch. Four of us came back from an afternoon of exploring Harrogate, and decided to try the hotel restaurant rather than going out again. It was about 6:00, and the dining room was empty.The host/ manager asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t, but since there was not another guest in the restaurant we figured they could fit us in. No, they said they talked to the chefs and couldn’t do it. We were stunned and disappointed that they gave us no options other than to go somewhere else, which we did.

The website states parking is on a first come basis, no mention of a charge. When you arrive there are signs everywhere saying parking is £12 , not mentioned on booking. The young man on reception said yes it’s £12 per night giving you a key to move the billiard so you can park. On booking out the same young man charged £15, pounds for parking, when I asked why he said, ohh yes it’s £12 around the back and £15, to park at the front. Very dishonest I think.

The room was very clean and comfortable. My main concern was the incompetent and rude bar staff. The barman with the black framed glasses was rude to customers. He seriously needs to reconsider his career choice because he is certainly in the wrong job! I asked for a pint of Guinness (surger cans). The Guinness was poured however the surge device wasn't working. The waitress then still tried to serve me and charge me for it to which I had to explain to her that it wasn't possible to drink a pint of unsurged Guinness! The receptionist on check in was on the grumpy side and didn't really want to be there. This hotel has great potential. If they had more friendly and competent staff our stay would have been far more enjoyable. There are better hotels in Harrogate to choose from.

Arrived on the Saturday at 1600pm...reported to reception no hot water. Told it would be sorted, on leaving to go out at 1900pm still no hot water...told by reception you can have a shower when you get in from your night out. Next morning still no hot water and told on leaving that it would be sorted that day. We were on the third floor room 329 i think Mr and mrs Jones. We were fobbed off and there was no remorse from reception. No one offered recompense or anything. Very poor as we have stopped there on many occasions, but no one seemed to care.

We arrived and immediately clashed with reception over parking. She was incredibly officious and patronising and somewhat arrogant. This carried on with exactly the same member of staff when we check out when she attempted to double charge us. The bar staff were somewhat lacking too .. we ordered 2 baileys on our first evening they only had one, the barman went to “find” another bottle and came back almost 10 minutes later to tell us we’d had the last one, I then asked for an Old Fashioned to which I was asked if that was a cocktail he then proceeded to tell me he didn’t know how to make it. The following night again we tried a nightcap my wife again asking for a Baileys assuming they would have restocked, but no such look with this barman (.a different man from the previous night ) even saying that they “ .. didn’t serve Baileys” The breakfast was a little below par too, on both days we found the several of the fresh coffee cups to still be stained and soiled. Some of the food was tasteless - the bacon for example, some was cold - the mushrooms, the rest was average at best. Finally we get to the room, basically a square box with mismatched furniture including a very old style box wardrobe. The shower was very low powered and took almost 15 minutes to run hot and same with the sink taps. However the rooms were very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Also the ground floor and building are stunning and the location perfect. Overall we said it was tired.

We went for two nights and stayed for four. This was our second visit in a couple of months. They say the staff make any business and in the case of the crown this is the truth. In all the thousands of hotel nights I’ve had in my life I’ve never known friendlier and more helpful staff. Special mention to Kasey and Zoe on Reception for all they did for us. The hotel is a period property and absolutely in character with the town. You can feel the splendid history of the place as you sit in the magnificent reception. The new executive breakfast option is an absolute must, well worth upgrading for. This is a really well run business.

Only stayed a night but everything was fantastic. Phoebe on Front Desk was really warm and welcoming (helped us check in late after a theatre visit, no problem); the room was beautifully clean, beds comfy, really quiet. The location of the Crown is perfect; lovely interesting shops and coffee shops in abundance, a leafy area, Harrogate at its finest. We look forward very much to our next stay!

Lovely Hotel fantastic location

The Crown Hotel, Harrogate is perfectly situated for retail therapy and restaurants. Parking is limited at the hotel and on street parking close by requires a parking token which should be available from reception but they didn’t have any during our stay. Hence I had to park my car about a mile away from the hotel. I can certainly recommend breakfast which was hot, well presented and plentiful. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and well decorated.

Honestly, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff were always so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our rooms were cosy, very clean and quiet. Everything about the hotel was lovely. Very handy to have a grocery store opposite and a great bakery in the town. Lots of good cafes and shops nearby and beautiful parkland within a short walking distance.

Great location for our stay, following my nieces wedding at the Sun Pavilion.

Stay was very good. Had just one glitch. Four of us came back from an afternoon of exploring Harrogate, and decided to try the hotel restaurant rather than going out again. It was about 6:00, and the dining room was empty.The host/ manager asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t, but since there was not another guest in the restaurant we figured they could fit us in. No, they said they talked to the chefs and couldn’t do it. We were stunned and disappointed that they gave us no options other than to go somewhere else, which we did.

Our room was nice, clean and spacious. Our evening meal experience though wasn’t very good, the restaurant was very cold, noticed most guests eating with their Coats on, service was very slow, our bottle of red wine we ordered was just plonked on the table, not opened or served for us, we were asked if we would like water to which we replied yes please and then had to ask over 45 mins a further 4 times before we got any. Starters when they eventually arrived were very nice, main course was ok but no vegetables turned up with this, thus not a nice valentines experience for me and my partner!! Breakfast on Sunday morning was good service and good variety of food, very nice.

Great location with wonderful Victorian era architecture and vibes. The staff were absolutely fabulous, especially the bartender. The food is delicious (the pizza at the bar was the best I had in the UK!), with great selection at the breakfast buffet. Comfortable bed, small bathroom, but that’s to be expected in an older hotel. Love the history! Byron stayed there once upon a time. Strong recommend if you’re in Harrogate.

A historic building that has an amazing history. Our double room was huge with a really comfy bed. The room was serviced every day and very clean. Breakfast was a buffet style with everything you could want, Full English, pastries, fruit salad, yoghurt, ham, cheese etc. Staff super friendly and helpful throughout. Parking is available both at the hotel and 30 metres away at a public car park £12-14 a day.

Very dated hotel. Nothing ‘Executive’ about the Executive room we booked . Breakfast awful , everything had been mass produced early and was sitting under hot lamps . Bacon cremated and sausages dry . Fried eggs been under lights for over an hour and were like bullets . Hot drinks options good .

Check in took a while. No car parking. Only two staff at breakfast resuling tables not bein cleared, no cultery and pots, limited food available. Staff trying their best but nosign of management Will not be staying again
