The restaurant wasn’t open in the evening nor was the bar. The lights were on in the bar area but we never saw a bartender, nor a customer. Also there was no heating working in the room and a freestanding heater had to be brought to our room

A convenient and good stay in the town centre. Staff are super helpful and good! If you’re booking this hotel because of parking facilities, make note that during weekends if you arrive late, you are likely to miss out and have to park elsewhere.

We had such a lovely stay at this hotel. It’s an older hotel but very well taken care of and super clean. The room was comfortable and had everything you needed. It was in a great location within walking distance to parks, tourist areas, tons of restaurants and shopping. Secure, gated parking! The staff was so nice and knowledgeable. We were greeted by Renato and he gave us great recommendations for restaurants, advice about parking and lots of information about the hotel. He was friendly and professional and made us feel welcomed. The hotel had a business center that was easy to access. What stood out the most was the complimentary breakfast included with your stay. Not only was the buffet excellent quality with so many choices, delicious coffees, both and hot cold choices.. but the service and staff was 5 star all the way. They paid great attention to detail, provided service, kept the tables super clean and made up, assisted guests and were always smiling. They were all dressed in uniforms and really did a superior job. I highly recommend this hotel.

Fine room and breakfast, but cleaning especially in the bathroom could benefit from some descaling. Lights turned on in the middle of the night for no reason while we both was sleeping and the safe was noisy(?!).

My stay was alright, the rooms are a bit small - as expected with European hotels. Staff at front desk were helpful, stored an extra bag for me while I was away on a tour. Staff in the restaurant were wonderful, very personable and breakfast buffet had ample choices of both regional dishes and generic breakfast items. The carpet in my room wasn't carefully cleaned, sadly carpeting often hides proper cleaning.

Large room for family of 3 adults. Large room safe. 3 chairs for sitting plus sofa bed. Incredible breakfast!! Clean and elegant. Easy walk to the central square and tons of restaurants. Staff very helpful and accommodating. We will be back (in a week) and very happy to do so.

Excellent breakfast! Comfortable room, spacious enough for 3 adults. Staff very nice and went out of their way to be helpful. Enjoyed the Turkish bakery nearby several times. Amazing baklava!! Short walk to the main square passing restaurants and shops.

Close to the center and a nice selection for a breakfast However for a 3 star hotel it had no air conditioning in our room. All 3 days we complained about it and they promise to fix it but nothing happened. Our room on average was 80 - 85 deg F (28 - 32 deg C).

The service is very good. The personnel responds quickly to any request. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Variety and good quality. The AC is average. At certain occasions it could feel a little warm. Rooms have a bathtub which may results a little uncomfortable to some guest. Location is a good one. Apart and near attractions at the time. Would recommend is the price is fair.

The hotel staff were exceptional. The breakfast buffet was fresh and had a good variety. The bed was comfortable but the room was tiny. You cannot control the temperature of the room, so that on a warm April day the room temperature was 27C. The only option was to open a window, but as the room faced another wall there was no breeze. Ask for a room overlooking the parking lot or the front of the hotel for that reason.

The location in lower town is fine if you want close access to the train but most of the action and sights are in upper town. There are also very few restaurants in this area. The classic king room was tight but the bathroom was spacious with plush towels. We walked to upper town and back fairly easily (20 minutes each way).

The room was clean but windows did not have a purpose - another wall 2 metres in front. Cleaners are pushy to leave the room although 3 hrs before the check-out time. Breakfast food and service are perhaps the best part of the stay.

Location: Only a couple block walk from the train station on a quiet street. And a very short walk into the old town. Very convenient. Room: Had an upgrade to an executive room which was nice and spacious. Hotel: On a quiet street. Nice breakfast included. Clean rooms. Staff: Very nice and helpful during our stay. Would stay here again.

I didn’t arrive until after 11pm. I sent a message that it would be 10 but the bus was late. My check in was rapid and friendly. I replied to hotels.com about my check in and everything was excellent. The breakfast buffet was large, complete and everything was tasty.

Front desk, not even a smile , all of them, so get used to it while staying there. Don’t take it personal. They didn’t notify me when the room is ready to check in, even though I asked them to do so because I arrived early, two other guests checked in before the check in time listed on their hotel policy. The safe in the room is literally 1 inch above the ground, I mean who will bend that far, not for my age. The curtain is dirty. The view is a dumpster view, not city view, look at room # ??? Fifth floor, and you will know what I mean. I suggest they close the window or at least disclose to customers, be honest, you can still make money and be honest at the same time.

The Hotel Best Western Astoria is in a neighbourhood that leaves something to be desired. The hotel itself is like a rose amongst thorns - a gem in the rough. Once you walk through the doors you easily forget the roughness of the neighbourhood.The room is splendid, clean and airy. Breakfasts, included with the cost of the room, are sumptuous. It's a very full buffet of a wide variety of choices, from proteins to fibre. Our check in agent (who was in the industry in Peru) gave a great dinner recommendation - Purger - which is an authentic Croatian restaurant. We would book the Astoria again, without hesitation.

Die Lage ist super. Das Zimmer hatte einen starken Rauchgeruch, wurde dann gewechselt, aber auch das neue Zimmer hat wieder so einen eigenartigen Rauchgerug jedesmal wenn man es betrat. Reception ist sehr nüchtern, bei Abreise keine Frage ob man zufrieden war, kein Danke für den Aufenthalt und nicht mal ein auf Wiedersehen. Frühstück hat zwar eine grosse Auswahl, ist aber nicht besonders lecker. Trotzdem war die Preis/Leistung gegenüber anderen Angeboten tiptop.

The room was too small for two people and did not have an adequate amount of electrical outlets, which was inconvenient for recharging our electronic devices. Also, the street where it is located is not great, with tons of graffiti, little lighting, and very few people out on a Saturday night. However, the hotel itself was very clean and the two women at the check-in desk were very friendly and helpful.
