We had such a great stay at the Fairmont St Andrews. This might be the nicest most beautiful property we have stayed in. It’s absolutely stunning and everyone that works here is incredibly nice and helpful. The gym is amazing and the breakfast buffet had a ton of options (omelette station was fantastic). This is NOT a walkable property but there is a shuttle that runs until 6pm daily which is about 7min drive to town. You DO need to sign up in advance which is a lesson we learned more than once. They can also call you a cab which is super easy. It’s about $14 each way. You will not regret booking this hotel!

High end property near St Andrews with two golf courses. Pro shop and restaurant with great view of the town of St. Andrews and coast line. Rooms were large size and breakfast buffet included in room price was very good. Also had sports bar with golf simulator and nice spa facilities.

Fabulous hotel, perfect for a relaxed break whether that be as a couple or as a family. Overall, High standards and friendly service. Would definitely return. Only couple of issues we had was it was very difficult to find a parking space on arrival due to the busyness of the hotel and very slow service at reception checking in which meant significant time standing in a queue. One of the most disappointing points, which I did not expect from such a high class hotel, was when our beds were made on the second day, the sheets were neatly folded but the pillows were left as we had slept on them- not plumped to neatened. Did not look good when we arrived back to our room.

Great setting just outside St Andrews. Hotel is stunning both outside and in, with lots of facilities depending on what you would like to do during your stay. Breakfast was very nice; everything was good quality and fresh. We didn’t book dinner at the hotel although there were plenty of choice. We opted for Haar in St Andrews – amazing! My only gripe, albeit very small, would be the spa area at the hotel. It was extremely busy when we arrived and felt small for a hotel of this size.

Amazing hotel. We had a wonderful stay. The restaurant at the clubhouse was superb with stunning views (lovely that the shuttle takes and picks you up). The bell team charged our electric vehicle which was very convenient. The breakfast was wonderful with excellent choices. Our spa massages were superb. Golf will be on our agenda next time since the courses look great (we played St Andrews this visit).

Mud not hoovered up etc Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and attentive service. The bar in the evening was packed and it was slow service and sometimes difficult to get a space. La Cucina wasn't anything special and overpriced for what it is, much better restaurants in St Andrews. The spa is nice but with lots of families with children wasn't relaxing and difficult to swim. The shuttle service is helpful but often fills up in advance with only 8 seats and stops at 6pm, a taxi back from St Andrews costs about £10-£12.

Beautiful surrounding property and views of the sea. The rooms are old and could’ve been cleaner. Went to the spa in the evening to use the facilities and it was extremely dirty and unkept. Didn't even attempt to find the sauna it was so dirty in the locker room which was very unlike other Fairmonts i’ve stayed at.

We had another very enjoyable 2 night stay at Fairmont. Very welcoming, comfortable and spotlessly clean all over the hotel. Thankyou to the hotel for our anniversary chocolates. A lovely treat for sure. One area worth commenting on is Kittocks bar. We ordered some drinks on both days here. Unfortunately the bar does not have gin goblet glasses which was really disappointing. Drinking a premium gin at premium prices from far from premium glasses is not what i would expect from fairmont. We also had to request a garnish in gin twice when it was brought to us without -again, not what would be expected. My husband was served his guiness in a bellhaven best glass. Perhaps these are minor comments and meant as feedback only, but these do make all the difference to customers. See you again.

The staff have been very friendly as always. Compared with my experience with this hotel years ago, there are some disappointment during my stay this time, on the first night of arrival, there are a number of items broken/not function properly, such the kettle, safe box and shower head, these should be checked before guests arrival. Some days the room hasn’t been cleaned during the day and we have been told the cleaning has been scheduled in the evening. Some days the cleaning seems to have done in a rush manner, the toiletries are not being refilled unless we request them. The positive thing is all matters are being addressed promptly.

We got a studio room and as soon as we walked in we spotted the sofa was covered in dog hair. Unbelievable The porter went and got a cleaner who hoovered it then we were asked to vacate the room while they had another go at cleaning on our time. We got one free drink each for this. I did ask to move rooms but no. I struggle to understand if these rooms are cleaned properly between customers how was this missed? It was covered in dog hair not just a few bits

The hotel is stunning and our room was clean but very very dusty, I could have written my name in the dust on the bedside table. The service in the bar is also very very slow and it was not overly busy. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks.

The only problem was that the mattress sagged badly on one side. The hotel is luxurious but the mattress was not good. But staff wonderful. Food wonderful.

Really stunning surroundings. Rooms and some public areas are very tired. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Poor food choices and extortionate prices. A pint of Moretti £8.50!! Breakfast was good with variety and quality ingredients and staff coped well with the volume of guests due to the holidays

We have stayed at this hotel several times in recent years. Tinged with slight disappointment! We really enjoy staying at this hotel and the staff are excellent. However, our rooms made us question the price as we felt the rooms were not up to the standard we expected from a five star hotel.

Everthing was outstanding. Staff were friendly, the hotel gave my son a teddy for his first time visiting which he loves and we got cakes in the room for my wife’s birthday. Cannot fault anything

Have stayed in the fairmont st andrews many times in the past however this time we found the restaurant service very very slow (around 45 mins) and and the staff seemed to actively try not to make eye contact so they dont need do take an order -we were overcharghed for items and charged for items we did not even receive. A heads up on pricing but for a glass of wine its £18 and they add 10% gratituity to your overalll bill ( i assume they think the service should without doubt recieve this tip) . When the food arrived it was really nice but then qe had to wait on the bill lol..

We were allowed check in at 4pm and turned up on the dot and they said our room wasn’t ready so to go sit in a lounge area and they would call. This messed up our agenda straight away and we couldn’t gain WiFi access as no room code. I provided them twitch my email and it looked like they had my mobile Number and still no contact t at 5.20pm to say I’d room was ready. Decided to go to reception to ask what was going on and was told They didn’t have my mobile number ? I then said why did you not email me and they apologised and said yes they should have. Made them aware of my I happinesses but nothing was escalated or offered. Device in lounges was slow and we waited 15 mins for our drinks to arrive. Poor experience

The grounds are amazing. We ate at the clubhouse and the food and service were mediocre. There was a table of 8 in at the same time as us (no others) and it was mid afternoon. We waited 20min to be served and when we asked to be served, we were asked to wait another 5min. Food was very sub standard and not worth the price at all! The views however, incredible. Unfortunately service inside was similar. BUT reception and concierge were INCREDIBLE!!!! So helpful and went out of their way.

Choosing this hotel was the best decision I made when booking my family vacation in Scotland. The property is stunning, spacious and beautifully decorated. The pool area is perfect. The staff so accommodating and the shuttle go and from town works perfectly. We did not golf but if we did the stay there seems that it would be even better. An overall 10!!!!

We love the Fairmont. It is our favourite hotel in Scotland however the standard of the breakfast available has reduced over the last few years. It is still a lovely spread but when you set the bar high and it then drops you know it can be better. Simply put the fruit on offer at a 5 star hotel for breakfast is not good enough. No berries, kiwi or other fresh fruit that is normally available at other hotels of similar standard. Only melon and orange and apple slices available this morning

I stay at the Fairmont frequently and it’s the second time this month, the whole hotel is 10/10 couldn’t rate the hotel or staff higher, especially the hotel bar staff!. However it was my first time eating in the Italian restaurant and I couldn’t rate it lower, the service was shocking, I had to eventually request my main meals after over an hour as my son was getting tired, could see others unhappy and complaining. Food wasn’t good! I did mention when paying but the girl couldn’t have cared less, very much that’s a shame, sign her please. It massively let the hotel down as it’s somewhere I love going and have multiple other stays planned for the year. Stay clear of the restaurant!

Its a nice enough hotel. We stayed for 1 night, and the bedrooms was large with a big bathroom including both shower and bath.The hotel itself isnt close to anything unless you want to use the golf course. Its about 3.5 miles in to St Andrews and we did catch the complimentary shuttle bus in. Food and Beverage was nothing special. Cocktails were very expensive. The buffet breakfast was average with a big queue at the egg counter. Also several of the hot dishes were empty.
