We spent an overnight at the hotel in February and were upgraded to a suite due to ongoing works on the second floor. The hotel, staff, room and surrounding areas were all perfect and we would stay again in a heartbeat.

Hote is excellently located and within east walking distance of the town centre and the Old, Jubilee and New Golf Courses. Staff were superb, we got a relatively cheap upgrade to a deluxe room on the day. Breakfast was really good, cooked to order with a lot of choice. Evening bar was great atmosphere, good quality drinks and not a complete rip off. Highly recommended

Parking was a nightmare - drove around for 45 minutes prior to finding a spot. All the pay parking in the area only took coins, which I did not have.

Stayed for 2 nights. The staff were uniformly fantastic - particular thanks to David and Beth on the front dest who went above and beyond. Shame the bistro area is shut but reopening soon apparently. Absolutely recommend

We went for 4 nights golfing and the Hotel du Vin was a brilliant choice of where to stay. Short walk to the Old Course and perfect to walk to bars and restaurants in the evening. Parking was challenging as the town was very busy but once you find a space there is no need to move it until you leave ! Great staff, lovely room and perfect location, will 100% go back.
We went for 4 nights golfing and the Hotel du Vin was a brilliant choice of where to stay. Short walk to the Old Course and perfect to walk to bars and restaurants in the evening. Great cost vs benefits. Close to the University. Had dinner and breakfast on-site and really enjoyed the view and food. Bar had a nice ambiance and service, too. Highly recommend.

The negative unfortunately outweighed the positive, but the negative can be fixed. The positive: * Location was great, you could walk to everything. * L'Occitane amenities The negative: * The staff was not overly friendly and when you asked for something they seemed bothered. * Our room had a view although you had to stand to see it - if you sat in the chairs you couldn't see the view so nice but not easily enjoyed. * The bathroom toilet wouldn't flush, you had to hold it down three times to get it to flush and wait for the water to fill up inbetween * The maid left used amenities in the bathroom - the holder for eartips was missing the eartip cleaners and was opened. * On the Saturday night the students were hanging around the Aquarium and it was noisy until after 1am - we had to keep our windows closed which made the room hot. * There was no plug for the hair dryer in the bathroom so I had to unplug the coffee machine and plug it in there. Problem was the closest mirror wouldn't be reached by the cord of the dryer so you couldn't see what was going on. * First night ordered room service, was so good. On the 2nd night our food at the restaurant was horrible so I ordered the same items from room service because they were so good. They immediately came with ice for our drinks, then came back about 10 minutes later with bread, then 20 minutes later with the entree, so had to get up three times. The bacon was not cooked, was about 5 chips on my plate. Not good.

Really nice stay in one of my favourite places in Scotland. Hotel was spotless and room was great. Got the feeling the staff were short as they seemed to be rushing around a lot. This is my 7th stay at this hotel and slightly disappointing that they have no way of recognising me

A lovely hotel, great location, staff very welcoming, our room was spacious and spotless. The bed was large and comfy , the bathroom was spotless , warm with towel rail, and a fabulous spacious shower . The breakfast is delicious and we would absolutely recommend this hotel .

This was my first time staying at the Hotel du Vin & Bistro St. Andrews. The hotel is well situated, just steps away from the 18th Hole of the Legendary Old Course at St Andrews. Location is perfect for easy Access to the golf course, university, sites and town of st Andrews. The property is very charming and has a very cozy feel. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was wonderful and had a spectacular view of the North Sea. Very lovely. We enjoyed drinks in the bar, which was very cozy and charming as well. All interactions with staff were wonderful. I’ll be returning!

The location in St Andrews ja great. Our room was very large. That’s about it. I stayed in a lot of hotels in St Andrews but would not come back to this hotel again. The reception pointed towards the direction of my room that was it for the service. Had to find my way via stairs and corridors myself, had to carry my luggage myself. The room in the basement had no window - which was not stated in the description. Just a second exit door. Luckily we were there just one night. For the price they are charging and compared to other hotels around, this was a very poor experience.

Great hotel , in a great location . However, we booked a room with a king bed and we got a room with two single beds pushed together and a thin mattress on top . I kept slipping into the valley between the beds making for an uncomfortable nights sleep.

Hotel Du Vin at St Andrews was absolutely fabulous! The staff were attentive, but not intrusive, helpful and more than ready to share their local knowledge; quite frankly it was an idyllic stay. One comment I feel is warranted is that we booked two rooms with sea views, which were absolutely superb…but if we’d not done so and ended up with a view of the car park I’d have felt a little disappointed I suspect, as the car park area is literally an enclosed quadrangle, so not great tbh. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning, which was first class! In fact the breakfast was so good in terms of quality as well as quantity we couldn’t manage lunch any day we were there, just too full up! The next time we come to St Andrews, Hotel Du Vin will be our preferred choice of stay without a doubt.

Very disappointing. They did not provide me with a room I booked. I booked the junior suite, which had been shown on photo, instead I was provided with a room which size was a exactly as a regular room. Strangely they said they also considered that room a junior suite while admitted it’s size and everything else is a same as regular room. No compensation or anything else was offered. The staff did not even apologise. They said the room which was on the photos (shown as junior suite) was busy, so I had to take the other or leave it. Finally, while I was checking in at 8:40 pm, they did not mention also that restaurant kitchen was closing at 9pm, so I also missed a dinner.

The facility itself is attractive, the bistro's menu and food were wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly beyond description. I do not have enough pleasant things to say about this hotel. If we, hopefully, are in the area again, there is no where else I would even consider staying.

Fabulous stay. Reception team especially Kelsey were really helpful. Wonderful location which was quiet and very convenient for beach and city. Fabulous toiletries! and lots of little touches which made the whole experience really wonderful.

We just stayed here last week while on a 2 week tour of Scotland. We were playing golf at St Andrews so this location could not be beat. However, that’s where the good ends. The service here was terrible!!! Never have I stayed in a hotel where my presence was not only ignored but they really couldn’t care less that I was standing there. The hotel management really needs to address this with staff. It was not just the front desk staff but the restaurant wait staff as well. Other things to note about this hotel before staying here that we wish we would have known. Parking is a nightmare! It is street parking in front of the hotel and a public parking garage around the corner. There are stairs to enter the hotel so you have to drag all your luggage up to check in and there is no bell staff so you will have to haul it all to your room as well. Please note there is also not even a “parking area” for check in, so you may have a few blocks to walk from your parking spot, just to check in. The room was gorgeous and very modern/updated. All in all I felt like the staff knows the location is so great for golfers that they don’t really need to include service as an amenity.

We went for 4 nights golfing and the Hotel du Vin was a brilliant choice of where to stay. Short walk to the Old Course and perfect to walk to bars and restaurants in the evening. Parking was challenging as the town was very busy but once you find a space there is no need to move it until you leave ! Great staff, lovely room and perfect location, will 100% go back.

Location is perfect for easy Access to the golf course, university, sites and town of st Andrews. The property is very charming and has a very cozy feel. Room was extremely comfortable and clean. We had a meal in the hotel restaurant which was wonderful and had a spectacular view of the North Sea. Very lovely. We enjoyed drinks in the bar, which was very cozy and charming as well. Hote is excellently located and within east walking distance of the town centre and the Old, Jubilee and New Golf Courses. Staff were superb, we got a relatively cheap upgrade to a deluxe room on the day. Breakfast was really good, cooked to order with a lot of choice. Evening bar was great atmosphere, good quality drinks and not a complete rip off. Highly recommended

Hotel Du Vin at St Andrews was absolutely fabulous! The staff were attentive, but not intrusive, helpful and more than ready to share their local knowledge; quite frankly it was an idyllic stay. One comment I feel is warranted is that we booked two rooms with sea views, which were absolutely superb…but if we’d not done so and ended up with a view of the car park I’d have felt a little disappointed I suspect, as the car park area is literally an enclosed quadrangle, so not great tbh. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning, which was first class! In fact the breakfast was so good in terms of quality as well as quantity we couldn’t manage lunch any day we were there, just too full up! The next time we come to St Andrews, Hotel Du Vin will be our preferred choice of stay without a doubt.

I had a very comfortable stay in a large than expected room. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful, The morning walk on the beach just outside the hotel was spectacular as was the view at breakfast. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Overall experience was great. Staff were exceptional and Expedia upgraded us to a beautiful room. The only disappointment was the set meal from the evening menu. It was very greasy and everything had been deep fried. However breakfast was great. I would definitely return but I would dine elsewhere in the evening. I must say again, the staff were lovely, a charming lady called Beth checked us in.
