For the most part we enjoyed our stay at this Sheraton Hotel. The lobby is large, functional and attractive, with places to sit, a lobby bar, and available restaurants. Outside, there is a seating area for smokers and anyone who prefers warmth to air conditioning. We found the staff helpful and friendly without exception. Whoever is doing staff hiring and training is very good at what they do!! We felt that in many ways the staff made our stay! Our room was large, functional and quiet, with a desk and a chair in addition to a comfortable bed. The bedding was very nice. There was ample storage and more hangers than we have found in many hotel rooms. Our only complaint was that the bathroom is in need of some serious work. Although they fixed the toilet three times while we were there, it reverted to barely functional each time, with paper remaining in the bowl after flushing. On one occasion the toilet actually overflowed, and the floor had to be cleaned by a kind and efficient cleaning woman who happened to be nearby. The water temperature in the shower was fine, but the water pressure was not very strong. We tinkered with the drain in the sink and got it to drain faster, but guests shouldn’t have to do that. The toiletries were very nice and were replaced when used up. The room was serviced daily.

Parking is an issue. Noise from the city is also an issue. Otherwise good hotel for travelers on a business trip or just transitioning through the city. There is a Casino connected to the property, making lots of noise on weekends.

The hotel was beautiful. The breakfasts was really good and had many options. The lunch and dinner restaurant was ok. Pool bar was great with good food. Emiliano was wonderful. Housekeeping ( Maria) was great. The view of our room was fair. Everyone was very friendly.

The hotel was clean, the service was good and the amenities (pool, gym) were also very good. The hotel overlooks the boardwalk - which was pleasant. We were there over New Year’s and it wasn’t loud. Our only complaints were that the temperature in the hotel (not just our room) was very cold also the air conditioning was very noisy and the beds squeaked badly, making it difficult to get a good nights sleep.

My bathroom had a HORRIBLE SMELL inthe drains, I had to put a cup over the sink and shower drain. The room was old and dirty, carpet was disgusting and there was a leftover water bottle by the sink that said it was complimentary for me. But already opened and drunk out of. Poor service, called for things to my room that never arrived. Especially someone to check that smell and nobody ever came. Hotel staff wasn’t very helpful. Breakfast was very poor. The omelette was the only thing that tasted good but you had to grab your own toppings and it wasn’t very hygienic. Wouldn’t stay here again.

1-las ventanas de las habitaciones no frenan el ruido que llega de la calle. 2-la ducha no tiene contención de agua y se inunda toda la habitación dejando la alfombra empapada. 3-las alfombras de la habitación es muy sucia. 4-comí en el restaurante y terminé intoxicado (hace ya tres días que no puedo comer bien ) 5- envíe dos camisas a lavar y planchar y me amenizaron que si no pagaba no me daban las camisas ( me pareció una falta de respeto) No volvería más a ese hotel.

I booked a king size room with a view and I got a two queen size bed with a quarter view. I am very disappointed, during my check in the representative tried to convince me to upgrade but I declined since I am only here for one night, however the room expectations were up to my standard, the towels were dirty, the room was not what I expected of a king size bed, and no view totally disappointed

The check in and check out process is to long. They didn’t keep a credit card for incidentals and I was told that “ I didn’t have credit “ so I had to go back and ask for them to take a credit card so I could use the bars, restaurants etc!

Two issues.one, I booked breakfast for three for one day and in the resevertion appeared, breakfast for one person. I told the hotel manager, I think his last name is Santiago, to charge my wife for the breakfast, let my daughter eat at no charge. She is a minor, and in my case, my breakfast came with the booking.They did not wanted to compromise. The supervisor said, I needed to discuss it with Expedia. I didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, I should be refuned. Two, an employee from the hotel opened our room door at 9:30, in the morning to see if we consumed anything from the refrigerator. Check out is at 1:00pm. This particular employee, never knocked the door, if he did I didn't hear it. Why would go in a room at 9:30am to check if you consumed anything from the refrigerator. I paid for that room until 1:00pm. When I return to NY, I would like to know if I was changed for breakfast for three. If you did , I need to be refunded or refunded for one, as I stated before.

Room Good condition. Staff courteous. There needs be separate check in for people with reservations vs people cancelled plane in line. I had hard time checking in due to chaos people cutting and made separate line. The new man in white jacket valet out front was very rude as pull up simply to check in. This man mocked me when my knee gave out mimicking me and also threaten me only had 5 minutes check in, when lobby full of people. Later, the hotel had policia there who act like going hit me, just for pull my vehicle up to check out/and get my bags from lobby. Americans do not like national policia act to guest like criminal at a stay. Hotel needs state it has own security vs Policia out front to guests.

Rooms are super old, staff at poolbar is super unfriendly, and there is no service. Ordered a cocktail from the Menu, drink was ok well to overpriced. Anyway I was willing to pay the amount that was on the Menu, but they charged me even more then the normal 28% tax for a cocktail. After discussing with them and talking to the supervisor that the bill was imcorrect. He came up with 10 excuses. The most funny one was that I ordered a cocktail with alcohol this would be more expensive. I showed him the menu and asked him if he is serving a cocktail with alc free rum… Breakfast should start at 6 am. I came at 6:15 and a lot of things where still not there. I moved to another Hotel, which was way better for a less price

Old Sheraton hotel Carpets dirty Breakfast is super expensive for the quality and little variety it has. My room did not have a mini bar, you have to ask for it to be installed or they will change your room, something ridiculous never seen before in a hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel , sorry

The hotel needs improvement. This is an old hotel. The bathtub needs improvement and the towels as well. However, the personal is very attentive and the check in and out was fast and everyone was courteous. The food was amazing. I was expecting a little bit more luxury for the price.

We are regulars at this hotel and consider it to be one of the best stays in the city of Santo Domingo. Staff is extremely professional, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Restaurant staff is superb, food is excellent, and many options. Breakfast is our favorite! Our room was nicely decorated, included the most comfortable mattress and bedding of the best quality. At Sheraton we always feel at home. Special thanks to Mr. Cuello, Carmen, and restaurant staff. (sorry I don't remember everyone's names) Andres at check in was amazing. Also Abel, Nelson, Maximiliano, and the many others who we interacted with in this visit provided outstanding service. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again in the near future!

The last time I stayed there was two years ago. It was a terrible experience with rude front desk, Nickle dime expenses and construction noise to wake you up. So I thought I would give them another chance. BAD IDEA. If you like ice cold showers, no towels, 3 days to get a room cleaned and construction clatter this place is for you. I have been staying at this location for over 30 years. It will not be 31. Catalonia here I come. Ps, The staff at the pool is awesome.
