The rooms were very dirty. Stained bedding.mouldy bathroom. Kitchen cupboards and doors. Stained sofa. TV turned off Everytime the volume changed. Resetting itself. No tv channels at all. Leaking toilet spray.(Fixed within 30 mins of requesting) But nothing else was amended. Changed sheet ourselves. Two towels provided for 4 guests. On a plus, the Hosts were willing to accommodate, and friendly. Went out and brought the cutlery. Not enough equipment. Ie. Cutlery, plates. Cups. There was 1 of each supplied for 4 guests. No cups for hot drinks. Brought items ourselves for the stay. No instructions on how to access the pool. Or where it was located. No instructions or where the bin room was. Only one key provided for the stay.

To start, there was a hiccup with check in and we had trouble locating the access card keys to the unit. Previous tenants put them in the wrong mailbox. This is very annoying if you’ve travelled a long way and just want to rest. The cleanliness of the place was…acceptable for Vietnamese standards, but for North America would fail. Pros: -Great location and very safe area with all amenities close by but very cumbersome for drivers picking you up (faces an extremely busy major road-Song Hành Xa Lộ Hanoi) -Place is staffed with security -Located right next to a major mall, supermarket, via pedestrian bridge at An Phu Metro; can go straight to District 1 Ben Thanh or Suoi Tien in opposite direction -host was responsive to all inquiries Cons: -apartment had ants that made their way up to the 25th floor -area is very pricey since it’s a developed expat and business oriented clientele so you might not get a lot of street food options -the pictures posted are not what you’ll get; considering it’s modern Thảo Dien, I was expecting my apartment to look like the pictures -it looked NOTHING like the pictures Will I stay again? MAYBE if pictures are accurate and area had a good mix of new and old world Vietnam.

The host was very accommodating, allowing for an early check-in as our flights were in very early AM and we were traveling with kids. We arranged the airport pick up which was seamless, even though Grab was cheaper, the car we arranged for was the right size for us and luggage. I went in to this with my eyes fully open, don’t expect the rooms to look like the images which are clearly AI generated and you won’t be disappointed. For the price we paid for 2 apartments and length of time we stayed, I don’t think we could have done any better in other countries. The rooms are clean and tidy, with fresh bedding and towels and facilities to wash our clothes. There were ants but that’s pretty common across Vietnam and it wasn’t much of an inconvenience to us, just make sure you don’t leave food laying around. Kids loved the pool, had to ask how we gained access as it was a secure entry system and the host provided a QR code. Short term lets are illegal in Ho Chi Minh City, but don’t be put off, we didn’t have any issues here. Views from the apartments are stunning and it’s right next to the metro and a massive shopping centre.
