Hot tub was great! Views were excellent, nice restaurant!

Wood burning fireplace in room. High quality recent remodel. Espresso machine in room. Lobby is beautiful. Gym and hot tub.

The overall atmosphere was very cozy. The wood burning fire place and hot tub were awesome too

The whole hotel was clean and comfortable, we especially enjoyed the hot tub area with showers and locker rooms located in the gym area.

I stay here at least ince a year and normally love it. This year, maintenance on the hot tub was preformed. Taking it out of commission after a 4500 person running event. Very poor timing.

Always great little getaway to the mountains !! Hot tub and Wood burning fire is always the high light of this place . And Congrats at Prow restaurant , the food was fantastic .

Great stay. Very clean room, and very helpful staff. Check in was easy, and we got an early check in. The only negative was that the fireplace was out of order, and we were looking forward to it. Not a big deal, still would have stayed anyway! The outdoor hot tub was also amazing. Great stay in the lodges, if you’re looking for a great mountain vibe

If your hot tub is to open for 9am and checkout is at 11am, informing guests at 9:05am that the hot tub is still not ready because they need to shovel the snow, and then not having it open until 9:50am is not a good experience.

The Buffalo lodge was very quiet and peaceful. It was nice to be away from the crowds of town. The bus stop is just a minute across the street. Very nice staff. We had no issues. Parking was scarce on a Friday night when the place was full.

Check in was just ok. If you get a few people checking in at the same it can get crowded. We tried to use the hot tub in the morning but it was barely warm. I put my hand in front of the return jet and it was ice cold. I think maybe the fill line was left on as the tub overflowing. Room was nice

Lovely stay in a beautifully situated hotel. Extremely clean and room was very cozy: comfortable beds and pillows, very nice chairs for enjoying the fireplace.Fireplace had fire laid and ready for us to enjoy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our dinner in the prow; great food and server and nicely decorated

Staff were amazing, very welcoming and friendly. The view of the mountains were gorgeous. the rooms were rustic, and the vaulted ceiling on the top floor and the fireplace made you feel like you were in a cabin in the woods. Just a few notes, the walls are thin and you can hear every word in your neighbours conversations. The rooms could use a bit of an upgrade and some repairs, we had a crack in our sink where the repair was failing. The blinds weren’t working properly. Need more outlets and better lighting, Also, the room is due for a deep clean. It was clean enough, just time for a deep clean. All in all, really enjoyed our stay there. We will definitely come back again’

The hotel was extremely dusty. Did complain and was assured that the room would be cleaned properly but that did not happen. You could write your name in the dust. I went through 5 different antihistamines just to tolerate the dust. I was fine when i was not in the room or reception but could not breathe in the night. This was also the noisiest hotel i have ever stayed in. There was a golf buggy that would roam around the site from early doors that sounded like a tractor and beeped relentlessly. Felt like we were staying on a construction site. Could hear everything from the room above from their snoring, showing, toliet duties to their elephant stomps across the room. And if all that wasnt enough, the train in Banff sounding off every few hours through the night would also jolt me awake. Had to ask to get coffee topped up and loo roll delivered. Housekeeping were awful. Floors were filthy. Towels were rarely replaced. Had to use the towels at the hot tub a few times because ours were wet and not replaced. It was very deceitful being advertised as a lodge with kitchenette... i assumed this would infur privacy but even that was not as advertised. The blinds were not completely covering the windows so passers by would regularly get a free peep show. Darent use the heating... that would blow dust into the room. Someone smoking outside the room would come inside. No extrator fan in kitchen. Would never stay here again. Positives: Prow was decent. Bear spray available to rent.

Our room was not very clean (esp. the bathroom) and the mattress was stained and was a hygiene concern. The facilities and building units are quite old.

It was a relaxing stay (considering the location and views), but the bathroom must be more cleaned after each guests’ stay. Saw gunks and stains, which made it uncomfortable to use the washroom. It might sound picky, but cleanliness must be more checked…

Clean room, friendly staff.

The main check-in restaurant and bar building is beautiful, cozy and modern. However, the actual cabins where the rooms are located are rather outdated and a bit underwhelming for the price, especially compared to the renovated building. Sound insulation is not great, you can acutely hear when someone is walking up the stairs and anything else. The furniture, walls, carpet and amenities inside the room desperately need a refresh. Overall, on the restaurant and hotel staff side, as well as the area, it was a great experience. However, the actual stay lack of assigned parking and signage throughout the property is underwhelming.

Rooms were well appointed & comfy, staff friendly & food of good standard. However despite us paying for a premium suite our room overlooked the car park and was quite noisy with people coming & going at all hours.

Beautiful surroundings, spacious room, comfortable and clean. Loved the L’Occitane soaps and the Nespresso coffeemaker. Unfortunately, the fireplaces are not functional. Lovely restaurant with excellent server. Only objection is that it is not well soundproofed so that overhead neighbors could be noisy. We slept well, though.

If you prefer a quiet room, we recommend requesting the second floor units. We were in a ground floor suite and could hear quite a bit of walking and talking from the occupants above us starting at 6am. The oscillating fan helped create white noise!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Buffalo Mountain Resort, and it was a truly memorable experience. The room was incredibly spacious, with the highlight being the fireplace in the bedroom—it made the space feel extra cozy and inviting. The bathroom was also fantastic, offering plenty of room for both of us to get ready comfortably. The on-site restaurant was a lovely addition, and while the food was good, I felt it could have used a bit more flavor to really stand out. However, the real star of the stay was the breathtaking view—it was absolutely stunning and added so much to the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway!

The room was lovely, and it was nice to have a view of the woods. I liked that the property wasn’t right in town, but within walking distance. My only complaints would be that the walls are pretty thin so you can hear a lot, and the towels were very scratchy. Honestly, they felt like sandpaper! I think a little fabric softener would go a long way.

We stayed in the Premier King Suite and the room was fantastic. Clean, cozy, with extremely comfortable bed and wood burning fireplace was lovely to come back to every evening. We enjoyed the lodge feel of this resort and being off the main Banff Avenue but still very close to everything.

The manager at the front desk was so helpful! The room was amazing, the balcony and fireplace made the place so cozy I hardly wanted to leave. Service was super fast as well to restock fire supplies and coffee.

We’ve visited Banff many times, but this was sadly our most disappointing stay. We emailed the hotel 9 days in advance requesting early check-in and noting it was our 37th wedding anniversary — both were ignored. We watched from the adjacent restaurant as other guests checked in and received keys while we waited, feeling dismissed. No acknowledgment of our anniversary — not even a card. The room was fine but underwhelming, and the fireplace (a main feature) didn’t work. Without it, the room lacked any charm. Noise was a major issue — we heard every word from the room next door and every footstep above. Bathroom soap was a plain bar with no holder — just one of many small oversights. The Prow restaurant had little ambience and couldn’t accommodate dietary needs (lactose intolerance) — every pasta dish contained cream. The hotel felt sterile, more like a budget chain than a cozy Banff retreat. We were also wrongly charged $50 for unreturned keys — despite having just returned them at checkout minutes earlier. Thankfully, we saw the email while eating breakfast and were able to get the charge reversed immediately. Our room had a good bed and shower, and we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, but these are basics, not stand out features. We will not return to this property and cannot recommend it — especially for special occasions. There are far more welcoming, charming and guest-oriented lodging options in Banff. Hopefully this might help others avoid similar disappointment.

Early check in was accommodated. Room was clean and staff was very helpful. Brought us extra coffee upon request. The stay was excellent.

We had an amazing 1 night stay in one of the lodges, an upgrade from the lovely team. Super friendly, efficient and competent staff. Very comfortable lodge with everything you need. One thing i would add is complimentary bottles of water but apart from that it was fabulous. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.

The staff were amazing! Mayah, Nikki, Rachana and the night staff on the phone. It was nice to experience the level of service you all displayed felt like we were valued.

Beautiful resort, nestled in the mountsins. Somewhat far from city centre though.

Lovely stay. Hotel is not in Banff CBD. Too far to walk into town - and especially back (up a steep hill). There are $2 public bus services. Room product great. Love the open fire. Bathrooms huge. Lovely woodland views. Front desk staff fab.

Amazing hotel, a little off the main town which we really enjoyed as the town gets so busy. Short & frequent bus takes you straight in which was free if you had brought other tickets (like the gondola or lakes) otherwise $2 a ride - amazing. Food at the prow was amazing. 5* stay nothing to fault with super friendlu staff.

A quintessential mountain lodge complete with wood burning fireplace (logs included), hot tub and very good on site restaurant and lounge. Great quiet location on Tunnel Mountain but still within walking distance to the town. Friendly staff as well.

Such a peaceful stay tucked away in the mountains. First time staying off the main drag and we were worried about accessibility however there’s a bus stop right across from the lodge. Being away from the hustle and bustle was just what we needed. We will be back.

Fantastic stay at this hotel! The scenery was beautiful, staff were pleasant and we were even upgraded to an even better suite, upon arrival, without having to ask. Convenient ride to downtown Banff with the bus stop right across the street, as an added bonus. Highly recommend this accomodation to anyone that asks!

The prow was unreal for both Valentines dinner (Bison tenderloin, WOW!) and breakfast. Rooms are clean, renovated and hot-tub is outstanding.

Food, vegetarian options, service at restaurant substandard. Breakfast potatoes tasted frozen, hard as rocks. Pasta was brittle, brown, crunchy and swimming in an inch of butter.

Relaxing in the log cabin-like central room reminded me of upscale lodges in U.S. national parks. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and concerned with every detail of my stay. I wished I had stayed longer to sample everything on the menu. No matter what you order at The Prow Restaurant, be sure to finish it with the warm apple pie (BC apples, cardamom gelato, toasted almonds). BEST sweet treat ever invented. I asked Karen for the recipe, but it's a secret. I'll be back.

Fantastic location within walking distance to the downtown. There’s also a free bus service which will take you all places in the town. The hotel is very good and we received an upgrade to a suite which was nice. The staff are really friendly and happy to assist you. Happy hour and Pasta Monday are a must.I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning in the near future.
