I've stayed in some bad hotels before because they were cheap, but this advertised itself as being quite decent and didn't live up to it. Queued about 40 minutes to check in. The room clearly hadn't been cleaned properly, there were stains on the floor, marks on the mirror and the teaspoons were sticky. There was a lamp but somehow it was connected to the main light making it pointless because you couldn't turn the main light off and just have the lamp on. Swimming pool advertised on website, but it was closed due to maintenance. Would of been nice to know ahead of booking. Also advertised a gym but the opening and closing times aren't great so didn't get to use it. Air hockey and one other arcade machine were out of order. Wouldn't have minded half of these problems if I was aware of them when booking.

There are nice rooms and entertainment in the hotel. Wi-Fi and car parking are not free. Parking is £3 a day, and Wi-Fi is £7 for 24 hours. Let's say you are staying for 4 nights. When you add up the room price, plus Wi-Fi and car parking, it works out the same or more than a hotel that gives you free Wi-Fi and free car parking. however, the main disadvantage of this hotel is sooo many people staying in it. no peace and checking in was a nightmare with crowds on the day I arrived, but not sure if every day is like this.

Perfect for a night away didnt break the bank the pool was lovely clean and easy to book in and use also sauna steam room jacuzzi were all lovely didnt try the food as we were out most of it but let us check in early with our bags too which was great

Room was very dated paint peeling on window sills, cracks on the walls and easy very clean the floor in the bathroom was really dirty. Luckily the heating was on so it wasn’t cold. Swimming pool and jacuzzi was really clean which was good.

Had to queue for 30 mn at least to check in. Reception poorly staffed when one considers the size of the hotel. Tried to check in on line, as recommended, but impossible to do so before our departure. Nothing worked !!! On arrival, discovered that one had to pay to use the swimming pool. This was not mentioned in the on line description of the hotel. Therefore we did not use the pool as we looked forward to ..... Had to pay £10 a day parking fee, which, again, was not mentioned in the on line description of the hotel. Our basic bedroom did not have a shaver socket, nor an extractor fan to get rid of the steam in the bathroom.

There was nothing not to like every thing was good and value for money the only picky was the bar shut when they wanted to if there wasn't a lot of people in without giving warning. but our room was exactly how it was described quite sea view clean and all the staff were very helpful would go back again

Great for convenience for just sleeping as rooms always clean. Inconvenience of having to walk from the 5th floor up amd down as lift not working having lugage was difficult for a lot of customers

Queued for 45 minutes to check in, even though we'd checked in on line. Room was dirty. The kettle couldn't be plugged in as no socket near enough. Lift wasn't working so had to walk up 4 flights of stairs.

The staff were friendly. The whole place needs a bit more tlc being given in decorating etc. You can see they are trying to bring it up to date. What I found was I didn't like the restaurant after I tried it the first nights stay. It reminded me of a school hall. The coffee shop was lovely but could only open when restaurant shut in the mornings. The bar seemed to open when it wanted to so no one could plan to meet friends or work colleagues before 3pm. Had bar meal 2 days running which was nice. Tried to order a third time but said he wasn't cooking and gave me directions to the chippy behind the hotel. The cabaret singers were okay for free entertainment. Was a bit annoying being asked to play Bingo about 3 times a night. If you don't like Bingo, you don't like Bingo. On the whole I had a fantastic time but there are some big flaws that can't always be ignored.

We had 3 rooms. One had not been cleaned and was still dirty but this was sorted. Our sink didn’t drain so used the bath which had hair in the plug. Bed was really uncomfortable and a stain on our bed sheet Noisy at night (could hear snoring, next room was smoking, was woken at 1.30am by security in the hall way to sort it out. It didn’t happen the next night but was woken at similar time by someone talking, on going 1.30-4.30pm luckily I have ear plugs but could still hear it.. Very thin walls, can hear toilets flushing and others showers during the night. Drinks at the bar are in plastic cups but a good selection of drinks, can have beer in a bottle. Breakfast was good. Lots of it staff worked hard to top it up and clean the tables. Found staff to be friendly and helpful. lots of litter, cigarettes ends outside.The outside was a mess. Lots of parking and really good location for Blackpool sites and tram outside the hotel. Had already seen the reviews so not surprised. Would not stay here again.

The room was filthy the bed had stained bedding which clearly had not been changed. I complained to the hotel reception who took me to 2 other rooms which were just as bad. I told the manager we could not stay as the rooms were so bad and that we wanted a refund. He said we would have to take that up with Hotels.com. We left the hotel and booked at the premier inn instead.

Absolutely disgusting that they can charge money for this absolute dump the minute i walked into the room it made my skin Crawl i booked to stay with my 3 y.o daughter. As soon as i seen and smelt the room i took i removed my little girl and went to reception in the filthy lift to complain. Unfortunately we was running late for her show and tge que at reception was so long with complainers that we just had to jump straight into the car and go. Once we returned a few hours later i went back to the room collect our case and went to reception to inform them id be checking out as its a health hazard i explained about the pubic hairs in the bed bath and sink the damp carpet and the food crumbs and confetti all over the carpet the walls were marked with what looked like bogies and excrament around the beds. This plave needs a swift visit from Health inspectors and shutting down !! No refund or apologies offered ....disgrace !

Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Hotel is just old and very dated. Needs money spending on it. Overall we had a great stay. Blackpool is full- on abd you're really only in the room to sleep. Room was a generous size, plenty of room for me and 2 kids. Bathroom could have been cleaner

We stopped here to have a night in blackpool as next day was golf captains trip to herons reach which was near by. Check in was slow as had to queue to check in and the queue was long. Had a couple of cheeky porettis before we could pick up our room keys which wasnt bad or badly priced. Room was clean with a sea view so no complaints at all about the room. I heard some of the other golfers went to their rooms and they hadnt been cleaned but received a free pint in compensation ! Overall a good experience

We checked in on-line with the understanding we just collect our key on arrival. How wrong we were. We still had to queue with those who hadn't checked in on-line, 90 mins in total we waited! Surely a separate desk to collect keys is the answer!

Upon arrival there was only one member of staff on the desk for check in which meant check in took 20 minutes stood in a Que on a hot day 28” outside which wasn’t fun, need more staff on desks! The woman defo needs a pay rise doing it all alone! Got to the room there was foundation marks in the bathroom by the mirror and on the shower curtain, hair in the bath (not great on the cleaners part, weird musky smell in the room again a good scrub would of fixed it, The hall way had rubbish/towels laying around so maybe add in another cleaning schedule to avoid this Just a few tips that could make the place much better other than that was okay If these things are fixed I’d happily stay again

Took an hour and a half to check in. Hotel on outside approach and initial check in is run down, outdated and grubby. Not to the point that it’s unbookable, but even for £80 a night basic cleanliness is an absolute minimum and effort had been made sporadically at best. That’s being generous.

Had to have the door card/key reactivated 18 times in one week. They tried to blame it on me for keeping it near a mobile phone, I don't have one. Then on the sensors in shop doorways, so tested this by not taking the card/key out of my room and it still did not work. Never had this problem at other hotels in Blackpool.

No heating in the room and the tv didn't work. We asked at reception 7 times over 24 hours for either extra bedding or a heater, plus to fix the t.v. Staff finally turned up at 11.50PM to fix the problems ! That's 30 hours after first reporting the problems

Booked thro Expedia think paid over odds for room which was so small you couldn’t swing a cat the decor was very poor, however breakfast was good and staff very polite On arrival long queue for reception…had already booked in on line paperwork said ‘just pick up keys’ to do this still had to queue

3rd visit. Check in chaos as usual. Room was clean but bathroom vent was very dirty & windows don’t close properly which did let it down. At least they’ve fixed the electric door keys. Friendly staff & excellent weekend entertainment.

2nd time we stayed there and love it.nicely away from the town and easy to access using the tram or buses. Recommend getting the all day pass to make it easier to go where you want .hotel is clean and staff are very friendly .

A unique looking hotel. Free parking and plenty of it. We had a room with a sea view, not bad for £45 on a Saturday night! It is a bit far from the main attractions but the tram is only £6 for a day ticket and I believe you can use the same ticket on the buses.

Great place to stay if your looking for a low budget hotel to get your head down for the night, room was clean, great location and a tram stop right outside the hotel (£6 for a daily ticket Bargain!) the place is a bit old but what do you expect from a building built in the 1800’s, nice buffet breakfast, would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location for blackpool town centre. If you want a peacefull break Tram links to town centre ljust outside hotel..Very friendly staff Clean. Tidy room. Safe parking Would definitely recconend And willve coming back

Room was clean and tidy, hotel staff where great and helpful (maybe best to tell anyone booking) you need picture I’d that matches the name on the booking, there was a dampness smell in the corridor but once u by pass it was all fine, was basic didn’t eat in hotel so can’t comment on anything else, a bit far out from the attractions and Main Street but trams just outside hotel easy enough to catch and get up and down the Main Street best getting all day tickets works out cheaper

The reason that I was at the Norbreck Castle Hotel was to attend the StarTrek convention. Staying at the hotel made it easier. What I did like was its location, away from the main busy area. Not that getting around was difficult, the tram stops right outside the hotel and you can easily step on and off at any pier or as far as the Pleasure Beach. The staff are very helpful, the food excellent especially breakfast. there is some entertainment which is just enough to enjoy the peace and watch the sunset in the evening. I will be back next year for the convention again and will not hesitate to book my room. Looking forward to it already.

Breakfast was good. Dirty linen/bedding in the floor in the corridor from check in to check out. Toiletries limited to Two small bars if hand soap, shower/shampoo dispenser empty. Kettle dirty, brown sticky gunge. Restaurant closed at 7.30 pm on a Saturday evening. Absolutely not a £195 overnight stay!!
