Paying for car park and swimming wasnt great....very noisy doors, should have a bar on the top for slow closing, they slammed to....duvet was far too small for its cover and bed sheet didnt fit the bed

It’s the only hotel that we have had to pay extra on to our booking to use leisure facilities, if we wanted swimming towel came at a cost. Required to pay extra for hotel car parking. Pool closes at 5 so we couldn’t use it when arrived. Room were so hot even with windows open, our complimentary biscuits were already opened and munched on. Went to make a coffee but tea spoon was dirty. Pillows were rock hard and not really a family room but did the job as we booked 10 moms before arriving to break a long journey which is why the use of the pool would have been good.

Our stay was terrible, we stayed for 2 nights, changed rooms twice the first night as they were so bad and then decided to leave the second night but finally got an upgrade to the 7th floor which was much better, so we stayed out of convenience! The breakfast was terrible and had to wait for a table and food to be brought out ! We were also unable to charge our car as the same two cars charging didn’t move for 3 days ! The hotel couldn’t contact the owners . The hotel only has 2 charging points . We had to drive to Sainsbury’s to charge before coming home and added 2hours to our already 5 hours journey home.

Me and my 11years old wanted to go swimming while in Blackpool 20/7/25 so booked this hotel because the pool looked great At the check in was told the pool was closed today!!! so I booked a slot for 9am in the morning then when we arrived was told pool was closed because of staff shortages!!

Decent hotel for Blackpool, however stayed one night for work and wanted to use swimming pool. Check in is 4pm but last entry to swimming pool is also 4pm. Leisure area unusable unless staying for 2 nights

Hotel was placed fairley well if you like to walk. Had a room on top floor facing the sea and lights. Room not that clean and tea tray not that well stocked. It was clear that nothing is checked as i found old medication in the wardrobe and carpet looked like someone had throw up on it in the corner. Staff on reception ok. No service to the room unless you ask, for bin empty or teatray refill. The is a pool but you are required to pay extra for this, if you have a car it is 7 quid a night. The room was hot and noisy, there was also howling from windows in corridor. I would not stop there again.

Good location Good Price Pet friendly but in need of an update I stayed here when it was owned by Hilton many years ago and it was in a different league! But obviously not every company has the spending power of global company. Pool and sauna closed too early on a weekday and was hard to get in unless you got there before 4 but Chuck out at 4.30! The room on second floor definAtely needed some money spent on it with eighties bathroom suite and a creaky bed that had obviously seen a lot of action but not when you want to watch Married at first sight in peace? The lights at Blackpool are great but the area lacks money and it’s sad to see but rubbish and dog poo left on the pavement there is no excuse but in line with deprived areas that don’t careless of there surroundings but the hotel can’t be blamed for any of that such a shame

Room was full of cobwebs, mattress was so creaky and noisy every time you moved. It’s like it wasn’t changed in about 30 years. The bathroom was exceptionally dirty and the tub was clogged full of hair. Water also kept going cold and then lukewarm and very low pressure. Heater wasn’t working in the room either. Staff also not very helpful or nice. Poor excuse for a 4 star hotel.

Check in was fine however our room was filthy. The bath tub was so dirty it looked like old mop buckets water was thrown in there. We asked to change room which we did to go into another horror room. The toilet was filthy with urine stains all over the seat and bathtub dirty. Requested to change room but there was none available. The room was cold due to it being central heating and our radiator did not have a thermostat to adjust. We paid for breakfast and this was not noted and we were refused breakfast twice even after showing our booking receipt. Worse stay ever

This hotel needs updating ,the bathroom needs a major refurb .The towels were very small and paper thin ,no bath mat ,that is not safe when getting out of the bath . Not enough staff ,nobody came to our room in the 3 days that we were there. The front entrance is a disgrace full of tab ends ,bin overflowing with rubbish and glass bottles .This hotel chain needs to start upgrading there hotels .

First room was nothing like what had been advertised, dirty windows and furniture, aswell as splatter up wall … ALOT of dust. More worryingly the interconnecting door to the next room wasn’t locked! Just a table put in front. Moved rooms the second room looked slightly more like what was advertised however still not clean pubic hair behind bathroom door, bath plug didn’t look like it had been clean in a long time. Along with splatter up walls. With light fitting in bathroom also hanging off. Didn’t feel safe with people trying to get into our room multiple times during the night. Not a 4* as advertised be lucky to have 1! Will not be staying again that’s for certain !!!!!

Room smelt like cigarette smoke, one of the towels was dirty, the bathroom extractor was blocked full of dust, the shower curtain had blood on it, there was a large hair in the bath and as two males with really short hair this certainly wasnt from us, the bed was uncomfortable and creaky, the window was screwed shut and when staff where told i was advised "all the rooms are like that" and "there is nothing we can do" despite there being no mention of this when booking so the room was too hot with a little fan blowing the warm air around. Overall the stay was terrible and we certainly wont be recommending the hotel to anyone or coming back.

Great bed, rooms dated and decor in personal rooms awful, basic cleanliness around the hotel awful, bins full to brim, the food was inedible we booked for breakfast and I can have eaten some bad meals …. The breakfast was awful with cheap condiments which clearly won’t add ……. Towels not replaced after the following day …. I will not be staying again ….. and I never write reviews

Very disappointed with this hotel on arrival check in was ok friendly receptionist, when we got to our room it wasn't cleaned from the person befor the bed was a mess whith a wet towel on it and a dirty one in the bathroom . Reception was happy to help and moved us to one the had been cleaned. I would recommend that management check the rooms befor people go into them and make sure they are clean as the one we moved to wasnt

Stayed at the Grand for friday night 29th aug so i could take my family to see the illuminations switch on. Got our room and went out straight away. But that night realised how poor the condition of room was in. 1. Mould on walls next to bunk beds where my kids were sleeping. 2. Flaking wallpaper and paint around window and radiators. 3. Window handle not working so wjndow didnt close properly, 7th floor so drafty. 4. Window frame actually moving, again on 7th floor ! Dangerous. 5. Marks on almost every wall in room. 6. Stain in bath tub. 7. Mould and what looked like urine stains on silicone around floor . 8. Crack in toilet pan, which could harbour all sorts of harmful bacteria. 9. Wall hung pan moving when sat on. Room was not fit for purpose and at £185.00 for one night , priced like a 5 star hotel. More like 2 !. Was too late to go and complain but have emailed the hotel company. Chrck out the pictures i took if you think im over doing it. Who would pay neadly £200.00 for this. Absolutely disgusting. Grand by name, but certainly not grand by standards. Avoid !

Has seen better days. Once my partner complained and we moved rooms, the room was pretty good ie, a recently done up version of the first room we were placed in - a poor trick on the part of the hotel, see if guest will stand it, then move if not. 1st room, too warm (no different to all hotels), but the window was broken and wouldn't open. Poor mattresses. 2nd room, new windows, mattresses and a lick of paint - all rooms should be like that one. Breakfast was very limited and all costs taken out by hotel. Won't be going back.

The room had the sun on it all day and therefore was really warm. As the windows opened only a short way, it was so hot all night. There was no air conditioning in the room. It really was like sleeping in an oven and then as the windows were open, people kept returning to the hotel loudly which kept waking us and our child up.

Got an upgrade which was nice to get a sea view. Coffee machine nice touch. Room not 100% clean but wasnt that bad, few stains in carpet and found some fake lashes on floor. Shower took ages to heat up but finally got there. Great parking facility. Only stayed one night but would defo stay again. Great location, perfect parking and lovely staff.

Don’t stay here! At first I was super happy considering the other hotels advertised in Blackpool BUT someone tried entering my room at 1am about 5/6 times, luckily the latch was on which the door just kept slamming and getting caught! I called reception to check cctv the guy causally said “oh yeah my colleague gave access to your room by mistake” I was absolutely mortified being woken up like that! The next morning I went down to reception to check out, told the morning staff member he was shocked, I asked to speak to a manager, she came and gave me £5 off my stay! Hilarious! & said they would investigate as it is impossible to give incorrect access to someone and said it shouldn’t of happened, said she was going to call me to inform me of what happened and have not heard since! My stay was over a month ago & will NEVER go back to this hotel.

The receptionist Adam was absolutely fabulous. Not only did he assist us but was observed helping other guests even when he was away from the desk (on his break).. The buffet dinner and the breakfast had a good selection and was plentiful so you could choose how big or small a portion suits you

we have to wait for long time and then the guy told us there’s no family room left and we have to contact the hotels.com then i found that they gave my room to deferent family after a lot of argument the supervisor came ask me to wait for some more time then he sort the the problem thanks to him he upgrade the room

Stayed here lots of times just me and my son. Soon as got out of the lift for our room the smell of ciggarette smoke was terrible, eveb our room had a slight smell. I rang down stairs but no answer so we went swimming. When comong back from swimming the smell was even worse. I went to speak to recpetion onxe we went down early evening and the man just said " what floor r u on" so i told him and he wrote something down and that was it. There was no im sorry or can we swap your room or anything i was a bit gobsmacked so just left it and i felt awkward not knowing what to say. Then non of the drinks we wanted were available and ran out at the bar. Then constant knocking and banging on our bedroom wall very late then again early in the morning. To add to that aswell there was long hair on the bathroom floor and lots of it

Hotel room was clean & comfortable.Customer service was ok/average. Went to bar on arrival to purchase coffees. Bar man did not seem knowledgeable or interested. Ordered two cappuccino’s which my friend paid £7 for. Took 10 minutes to make and was more like instant coffee with an awful after taste. Returned to the bar with coffees & told him they were undrinkable. He offered to get someone to make some more to which we replied we didn’t have time as we needed to get ready for our evening so requested a refund to which he said it was company policy they don’t do refunds. Then re-appeared 5 minutes later with 2 coffee machine cappuccinos with chocolate thrown on top. When we later complained at the reception we were told there was a form to fill in, which we did & the would refund the following morning. No apology was offered. Breakfast was pre paid for with our booking & was awful also. Tasteless & unappetising. Paid £167 with an NHS 10% discount for 2 people. Overall very disappointed with the whole experience, especially as this was a birthday treat.

Warm welcome from the check in staff. Fast check in. Had buffet dinner which was excellent value for money. Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice and good quality food. Room was a little dated but perfectly adequate. Mattress was a little springy but not uncomfortably so. Found all staff friendly and helpful. All in all a pleasant stay.

It was quiet, lots of picturesque views of Blackpool Tower and the promenade and also of the Big One at Pleasure Beach in the distance. The location is ideal as it’s not in the middle of everything going on, staff were very polite and whilst there are facilities like the pool and Sauna etc we didn’t make use of during this stay we would definitely be inclined to make use of them on a future visit!

Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, quiet, opening window, no hissing air-con, a discreet flashing smoke alarm, warm controllable heating, what more do you really need? OK the furniture is not “modern” but perfectly acceptable. Not too far from the town centre.

Room was tidy and clean and presented well when checked in. Rooms are quite plain and dated but to be expected from an old hotel. Noticed vandalism and holes in the walls in our room, our bathtub had orange stains in too. Could do with work done to the rooms to make it look fresh and well maintained. Mattress was all spring and quite thin so was a bit uncomfortable. The room served its purpose of somewhere to stay that was close to the town centre. Staff were great and so was the location. Only 2-3 min walk to the tram station which was useful for getting in Blackpool quick and easy. Could do with a zebra crossing or light crossing outside to help with crossing the road as it was quite difficult. There is also a co op about a 3 min walk that stock essentials like food and snacks which I found useful

The reception area is lovely and welcoming, with grand furnishings as well as the dining and bar area. However, the bar stated it was open till 1am daily but the staff called last orders at 1030pm and cleared the lamps away from the tables whilst guests were still sitting having a drink. The cooked breakfast was okay, but the fruit selection was awful and I couldn’t even begin to say what a couple of the fruits bowls actually were, they were unrecognisable. Several plates were dirty and even the chef picked one up and used his tea towel to wipe it. Thankfully he didn’t put it back on the pile. The room was spacious but very dated. There were black marks/scuffs on the walls and I couldn’t even begin to think what the stain was that was on the curtain.

Hotel good in general,stayed here many times before. Usual under staffing,food served lukewarm,new chef,ran out of food 6.30?? Young staff in restaurant,on tbeir own,16yrs old,no supervisior on duty??,new chef brought staff to tears,??no duty of care here.that had been my daughter, he would be eating hosp food,disgraceful,it amounts to bullying,against the law,reported this to reception on the night.management sort this out,the buck stops with you,you would be up before the judge,will think hard before retuning here.

The self serve buffet lets the hotel down. I don't mind self serve breakfast, but it would be nice to be waited on for evening meal. The food is on hot plates for hours and is dried up and uninspiring. I won't be staying again.

Warm welcome from the check in staff. Fast check in. Had buffet dinner which was excellent value for money. Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice and good quality food. Room was a little dated but perfectly adequate. Mattress was a little springy but not uncomfortably so. Found all staff friendly and helpful. All in all a pleasant stay.
