The room smelled like toilet! We had to climb additional stairs after taking elevator with three suitcases which was not convenient. When we complained, they asked us to come down to the reception and collect new room key if we wanted to change - at 11:30 pm. We were too tired to do so and the room continued to smell so even in the morning. It was a terrible room. They moved us to another room the next day which was somewhat better.

The property is well located , there is a metro right next to it also a lot of groceries store and restaurants. Great location to stay . Front desk customer service are ok but not too friendly . Also there is a strong odor as soon as you walked in to the main hotel lobby and in the room bathroom (smell a lot a humidity and source ) however the room was very spacious with an excellent view .

空港から、バスでホテルの前に止まりとても便利です。 部屋が、クラッシックタイプと新しい方があり、新しい方は、エスカレーターで上がった後また、階段を上がらないといけない為、スーツケースを上げるのに大変でした。また、窓にレースのカーテンしかない為、夜外から見えるのが気になりました。窓の外にブラインドのような物がありましたが、使い方がわからなくて使えませんでした。それ以外はとても良かったです。

Otelin altında metro istasyonu var ulaşım için çok iyi , tarihi eser bir bina 19. Yy başlarında yapılmış , film seti gibi içerisi, çalışanlar kibar ve güleryüzlü , kahvaltı fena değil standart . Çok fazla odası var odaya geçene kadar uzun koridor yürüdük . Bu kadar kalabalık bir otelin yangın tesisatı yeterlimidir bilmiyorum , tek merdiven 2 küçük asansör ?? Onun dışında iyiyidi

Very conveniently located hotel, with great access to metro, trams, bus etc. We had a junior suite which was huge, but is looking tired and in need of an update. Cafe Astoria, where you have breakfast, appears to be part of hotel, but you can't charge anything to your hotel bill which is a bit odd. Disappointed that there was nothing gluten free at breakfast apart from cheese, fruits etc, but no gluten-free bread, crackers, cereals or cakes.

Danube Hotel Astoria is conveniently located in the middle of the city (Please note that this is on the Pest side, we didn't know the difference until we went there). Metro is right by the hotel so that made it very convenient but what i did NOT like about this hotel is the fact that breakfast was the SAME every single day, no change at all, some variety would have been nice. I also did not like the fact that there are no ice machines, no water fountains anywhere and when you requested for ice or simple tap water, it seemed like an inconvenience for the staff. I know this seems to be the norm in most European hotels but it sucks. I won't stay here again

El hotel muy bien ubicado. Personal amable. El desayunó muy rico. La primer noche, casi a media noche sonó la alarma de fuego y muchos salimos de nuestros cuartos. Fue falsa alarma afortunadamente. Al día siguiente en un voucher se disculparon y otorgaban un light buffet, que solo consistía en una sopa y café. Creo que con la disculpa, hubieran quedado mejor.

Very dated hotel, not really a 4 star. My room had a huge mold stain in the floor tiles and mold in the shower. Vacuuming was not properly done until I complained and cleaning in general was sub par. Staff were friendly enough but unable to rectify all complaints. Would have switched hotels had it not been the Easter holiday and nothing else available.

Incheckningen gick snabbt. Väl på rummet blev jag lite besviken. Tvål saknades i duschen. Vilket påtalades direkt. Dagen efter sade vi till om saknad tvål. Efter två dygn fortfarande ingen tvål. Slutade med att vi fick gå ner till receptionen och få en tvål. Städningen var inte ok. De tre hyllplan som fanns på plats sidan om sängen var fyllda med damm. Tråkigt nog lade jag mina kläder där som blev rejält dammiga. Överlag sköttes städningen dåligt. Grus låg kvar på golvet . Kanske glömde städaren att dammsuga. Papperskorgarna tömdes inte en enda gång. Stannade i fyra nätter. Rummet superior, som sådant är trevligt. Rymligt och tyst. Vi hade utsikt mot en mindre gata vilket var väldigt tyst. Utanför hotellet är det mycket trafik. Direkt utanför finns tunnelbana, spårvagn och bussar. Bättre läge finns inte. Många restauranter inom mindre än 5 minuters gångväg. Hotellet är byggt 1918 och det känns som ett gammalt lyxhotell. Mycket tjusig inredning tidstypisk. Frukosten var ok. Saknade bacon som fanns bara en dag samt stekta korvar som bara fanns en dag. Priset 16€ för frukost är i högsta laget. Frånsett städningen var jag nöjd. Skulle nog bo där en gång till , framförallt för läget

Vi boede i Superior værelser, som er moderniserede værelser. De var i pæn stand, med god opbevaringsplads og køleskab på værelset. Dog var rengøringen virkelig ringe. Der var ikke rent hverken på badeværelset eller omkring sengen. Vi havde rengøring hverdag, men snavset forsvandt ikke.

Location was great. However, for being a 4 star Hotel with a high room rate I expected more. It was quite worn and unmodern. The bed was old and uncomfortable and one chair had a nail sticking out, causing damage to clothes.The housecleaning was terrible. No vacuum cleaning during my 5 day stay, empty bottles and dirty teamugs and glasses were left for days. The furniture in the lobby was in desperate need of upholstering.

An old hotel that has seen better days. We slept in the wing with renovated rooms which were modern and clean. But the level of outside noise was astonishing. Restaurant is old and tired decor makes you not want to eat. Staff was very professional and polite

All in all, this isn’t a bad location to lodge while visiting Budapest. The location is pretty good. The metro (red), tram (yellow), and bus (blue) Astoria stops are all right by the hotel, so it’s fairly easy to access transportation. The hotel is a bit weathered. It’s still a nice facility overall, but it does show its age. Budapest is often hot, and the AC, in general, isn't really very good - at least to American standards. The Danubius Astoria is no exception. We enjoyed a suite and it was very spacious, including 1 and 1/2 baths, sitting room and bedroom. It was also at the corner building and included three balconies, which opened for great views of the city. The breakfast was standard European fare based on our experience with some local twists added in for a taste of Hungarian dishes. I'm glad we included it with our stay. For the price, it was a pleasant stay, and particularly if some updates to the facilities were made in the near future, I would not count out a return stay.

Grand old property that has seen better days, but we stayed in the wing whose rooms were renovated, so we were totally happy. And the hotel's location is excellent, walkable to the Danube and Vaci Utca. We especially liked the convenience of the Astoria subway entrance just outside the front door. Front desk staff was friendly & efficient. We'd stay here again.

Nice hotel! Breakfast was good, not the best. Location was amazing, right next to metro station and in the middle of the city. Still not a lot of noises from the roads. Good air contition. Very beautiful hotel, an old style.

When I complained and put review online the manager Zsida acted very rudely the very next morning and when I approached reception he asked if I was in room 108; I said yes and he said that he read the review and said AC not working yet, I said no and rudely stopped me and said I am busy with other customer; although I did not even initiated conversation with him. I will never stay in this hotel nor suggest anyone

We stayed three nights and on arrival the staff were very helpful and arranged a bottle of champagne as a surprise for my husband. Would've been nice if it was a lot colder than it was. Çleaning was done daily, even the towels, which was a surprise as we didn't ask for them to be changed. Didn't use the air-con as it wasn't needed. Hotel is central and has an underground practically at the front door. Amazing tram and bus system, although a bit confusing for me!

Staff were great, location fantastic but there was no bottle of water given and no kettle in the room to make tea or coffee. Shower gel empty. I was given a room on level 6 but facing a roof. They allowed me to check in a little earlier which was great

Property was within walking distance to most places for interest. I found some of the staff, quite abrupt and not going to help. Most of them were happy to oblige. I felt that a cleaners, in my room, didn’t do a terrific amount. only clean the sink. I left. My room very tidy and slightly made my bed. When the cleaners came in, my bed was the same as I left it. The breakfast was good, a lot of choice for breakfast. staff was keeping on top of filling all of the food up. Lots of choices. The best time to go was 8 o’clock in the morning. After that time it was too busy. You had to queue up for the coffee machine.

Lovely hotel, with beautiful old-fashioned decor, very close to the centre of the city. Excellent breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff. Our suite was spacious and comfortable and the hotel windows have external blinds to reduce noise and light. Modern, upgraded rooms are available but we prefer classic furnishings.

Excellent location!!! Metro station outside and a 5 minute walk away from the bustling jewish district with its nightlife and cafes. This hotel has actual character, you sense its history and if walls could talk... Great buffet breakfast. But yeah its the unique charm that won me over. Staff are polite and professional. Loved our stay in Budapest and the Astoria was a great spot to base ourselves.

Great location - right on top of a metro station, with plenty of trams and busses around. Close to shops and a lot of food options. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. The room was fine - spacious, good shower. A bit noisy from the traffic, but not too bad. I wished there was a coffee machine.

The location was good but the hotel is very very noisy. It’s between two main roads and the windows are single glazed. We asked for a back room but they can’t if you have a child as they are smaller rooms at the back. Also the reception area smells bad, but not upstairs the smell there was fine. Otherwise good location.

Great location— we were able to walk or use Budapest’s very user friendly transit system everywhere (definitely take the 100E bus if you are coming from the airport… the hotel is just steps away!). We booked a superior room, which is on the modern side of the hotel. It was clean, had lots of convenient storage, a good shower and an in-room kettle with coffee and tea. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choices. Highly recommend!

Our room was great, as it had obviously recently been renovated. The rest of the hotel was quite poor. The breakfast wasn’t great. Cold food and limited option. Considering the Cafe that the hotel had open to the public displayed really good quality food, the food provided in the B&B was substandard in my opinion. However, the room was great, and the location was spot on.

First the positives: convenient location, clean and spacious room, one particular staff who was very helpful. The negatives: very noisy area like Times Square, the hotel lobby and dining room had a very unpleasant odor, the breakfast was barely edible, the reception staff was generally not helpful or friendly. Overall I would not stay here again primarily because while the location was convenient it wasn’t so nice.

Danube Hotel Astoria is conveniently located in the middle of the city (Please note that this is on the Pest side, we didn't know the difference until we went there). Metro is right by the hotel so that made it very convenient but what i did NOT like about this hotel is the fact that breakfast was the SAME every single day, no change at all, some variety would have been nice. I also did not like the fact that there are no ice machines, no water fountains anywhere and when you requested for ice or simple tap water, it seemed like an inconvenience for the staff. I know this seems to be the norm in most European hotels but it sucks. I won't stay here again

The room (on the new side) was clean but a bit small. The beds were comfortable. The cupboards where not made for hanging clothes. Very unpractical. We had to keep the luggage on the floor. However good breakfast and attentive staff at the reception. The location is also perfect - close to the restaurant and shopping street Vaci utca .
