All staff very friendly and helpful especially Rudo. Great breakfasts. . Bonus heated pool but sauna no longer available as advertised on website. Comfy beds. I would suggest booking room in back part of building due to traffic sounds noticeable at the front of building

Excellent small hotel with very friendly staff and nice breakfast. Only downside was the limited parking available. The staff did make sure everyone was happy, but there was only around 10 parking spaces, but they were free unlike other hotels. Would definitely stay here again.

It's a small old kind of hotel, let's start with the negatives - small parking inside the hotel - rooms are a bit oldish - Aircon leaking in my room Now the positives - very affordable - it's clean - breakfast is very decent if not great for a little hotel - swimming pool is such a nice bonus - staff are all nice and welcoming (which is rare nowadays) If I have to come back to Canterbury, I would probably rebook this hotel.

Good hotel within 15 min walk to Cathedral. The area of Wincheap was very run down without great disabled access (ie lack of dropped curbs). Also hotel doesn’t have a lift. Nice pool but a shame the water temp was so low! Room was great and very clean.

We booked this property because we were traveling from the US with children and it had a pool. I was surprised there was no lift and we were on the 3rd floor, which was a bit difficult to navigate the winding staircase with our large luggage. The amenities were not exactly as described- there was no shampoo or conditioner, just a single pump that we were told could be used for hand soap, body soap, and shampoo. The bar was a small room which was staffed by the same person running the front desk, so you may need to wait a bit to get a drink there. It is more of a bed and breakfast feel than a hotel feel to be honest. The staff were all very kind and helpful. During breakfast, they had some hot food, cereals, and coffee and tea. The staff brought fresh toast to the table. The building is beautiful and the kids really enjoyed the indoor heated pool each evening. Overall it was a nice experience but not exactly what we expected going into it.

The staff were very friendly. Check in was quick and easy. The room was a little dated but comfortable and clean. It had a lovely jacuzzi bath! Breakfast was very good . Had a swim in the pool which was very clean and refreshing

The hotel has a small carpark accommodating up to about 10 cars.It is conveniently located being just a short 15 minute walk from the centre of Canterbury. We stayed in room 14 on the second floor which was lovely and big (with a huge bathroom) but rather noisy, as it looked out over the main road, although secondary glazing helped surpress most of the road noise. The room was comfortable and clean with a good tv. Breakfast was self service with plenty of food beit a full English or continental and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel appears to be in the process of being refurbished as it was being painted externally (July '25) and clad in scaffold to the rear. Overall, the hotel provides decent accommodation to stay for a trip to Canterbury and I would use it again.

Breakfast was fabulous. The guy working the front desk was helpful and courteous. The bathrooms had no hooks to hang items and nothing to hold onto when getting into a very slippery tub. They never cleaned out room. The parking area was horrific as extremely limited and small. We had to find a place on the street. They recommended we park at a place 1/4 mile away. I wouldn't ever recommend this place.

Hotel was not quite as expected based on reviews. Although very old and has updated over the years, our room was in need of some love and maintenance. The hotel staff is amazing, ambiance is great, and breakfast was good, but sadly our room was in need of a deep clean. Bed and sheets were clean, but smelled horribly of cigarettes and musk. The hotel did offer us a different room and we probably should have taken it. (So that was our fault.) With some deep cleaning to our specific room, this hotel would have been great for a quick visit to Canterbury. Great pubs in walking distance and close to Aldi for convenience.

We had a nice stay here, and the guy on reception (sorry, we didn't get his name) was supper friendly and informative The room was clean, although some of the furniture was a bit dated. Breakfast was a decent selection, especially considering this wasn't a big place

I was greeted by a friendly owner/receptionist. Check in was easy. The room was spotless and bed comfortable. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The only slight down side was weak shower pressure, but that was made up for by a deep bath.

The staff and setting are nice enough. Unfortunately, the room they gave me for my 2-night stay had a mattress that sunk to the bottom of the bed as soon as you lie in it. As we didn’t expect to have to check the mattress, we only found out when we were going to bed closer to midnight. We felt we were too tired to complain and move rooms, so we sucked it up. We let the hotel know after our stay but they said “you should have let us know” and “we investigated an didn’t find a mattress like you described.” Fair enough, it’s my fault for not raising it with staff as it happened. But beware of this place. The second you enter the room, get on the bed and see if you can sleep comfortably on it before you unpack and go explore beautiful Canterbury.

Breakfast was a Buffett style hash browns , bacon etc also croissants ham cheese . Couldn’t fault it at all . We had a room on the 2nd floor at the front . There were traffic works just down the road and the traffic was abit noisy so take ear plugs . Also a car accident at 1 am so police cars & ambulance. It is a 15 minute walk into the centre of Canterbury . The pool was extremely clean . To be honest it was a lovely stay and the staff are so friendly. I would recommend this hotel and stay again .

Room was large, spacious and comfortable. Although in the original part of the building and facing onto a busy main road which at times was quite noisy the room had secondary glazing to at least cut out some of the noise. This made the room quite warm and with no air con the addition of a fan would be welcome... or take one like i did. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the bufffet breakfast had everything you could want. Parking is a bit of an issue with not enough spaces for the rooms and the staff using the spaces cuts the numbers down even more. There is some road parking nearby or even a small payable car park. The addition of a small but fairly shallow pool was very welcome along with a lovely compact garden area to sit in. There is also a treatment room in the building run by a lovely knowledgeable lady and offers a variety of treatments. I opted for a massage which i must say was excellent. This facilility is a great addition to the premises.

Excellent hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful and there is also off-street parking. The only issue we had was the low water pressure for the hot water, so taking a shower was a little awkward.

We had an enjoyable mid week break. The hotel was a luxury for us but if i am honest the room definitely needs an update and care of the little things like missing rails on the curtains or the bathroom shelf needs securing to the wass more.

The water pressure from the shower in our room was bordering on non-existent, to be fair we didn't complain as we were in a rush. On the plus side the guy at Breakfast on Friday was super helpful as were the guys who checked us in and out

The staff here are fantastic. They go above and beyond to help their customers. The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Would’ve scored 5 but I had to leave early morning to catch my ferry. So I asked the receptionist if he could make me a pack up & leave it in my room. He assured me that he would. I’d payed for a double room because I wanted a double bed & it wasn’t much more expensive. Breakfast was complimentary. So essentially I was due 2 breakfasts. When I got back to my room, nothing. This hotel exceeded my expectations. Right up to the point where my breakfast wasn’t waiting for me. Also car park will take 9 cars but it’s very tight. If you have anything bigger than a normal sized car it won’t fit. Score would’ve been a five if I’d come back to my room & there had been a couple of sandwiches waiting for me. I wasn’t expecting the world but some form of effort to at least count towards a double breakfast would’ve been nice.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Right up to the point where my breakfast wasn’t waiting for me. Also car park will take 9 cars but it’s very tight. If you have anything bigger than a normal sized car it won’t fit. Score would’ve been a five if I’d come back to my room & there had been a couple of sandwiches waiting for me. I wasn’t expecting the world but some form of effort to at least count towards a double breakfast would’ve been nice.

The room was very bare and a bit shabby. There was no hot water in the morning for showers. The reception was not manned and staff from the kitchen had to come out to manage the checkout in the morning. Breakfast was fine but the tables had not been cleared and some food trays were empty. Again, this seemed to down to inadequate staffing.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city center and has its own small car park, which is really convenient as parking costs are extortionate in the city. The hotel itself was sparkling clean and the room was a good temperature. The receptionist was polite and helpful although reception was left unattended the next morning and we could not find anyone despite waiting twice and ringing the bell. The breakfast was amazing and they had everything yiu could possibly want or need. All self service apart from the toast and we didn't feel rushed or limited. There was a little noise from the the road but not enough to cause an issue with sleeping. I would definitely consider staying again in the future if needed.

Arrived for a spa trip with my daughter. There isn’t a spa at the hotel! It’s a small swimming pool and a beautician. The massage we had was very good but our room was not ready for us. We arrived for check in at 3 and when we went to our room someone else has already slept in it. We had to wait until 5:15 for the room to be cleaned and this was cleaned by the independent beautician in the end. The hotel is not staffed so there were no house cleaners to assist. I was so disappointed as this cost £200 and I believed to be staying in a spa hotel. There was no bar/ evening food. Whilst waiting for our room we weren’t even offered a coffee. I feel incredibly disappointed.

We booked this property because we were traveling from the US with children and it had a pool. I was surprised there was no lift and we were on the 3rd floor, which was a bit difficult to navigate the winding staircase with our large luggage. The amenities were not exactly as described- there was no shampoo or conditioner, just a single pump that we were told could be used for hand soap, body soap, and shampoo. The bar was a small room which was staffed by the same person running the front desk, so you may need to wait a bit to get a drink there. It is more of a bed and breakfast feel than a hotel feel to be honest. The staff were all very kind and helpful. During breakfast, they had some hot food, cereals, and coffee and tea. The staff brought fresh toast to the table. The building is beautiful and the kids really enjoyed the indoor heated pool each evening. Overall it was a nice experience but not exactly what we expected going into it.

I stayed for two separate nights in one week and I was greeted at all times by professional and friendly staff. The breakfast was outstanding! They use top quality foods which made breakfast a very enjoyable experience. I had an issue with the TV in the room but my feedback was taken on board and had clearly been looked at when I returned. If I am ever back in the area of Canterbury, I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Straight up amazing hotel with the pool, great rooms & breakfast. Close to the City Walls and a Castle, pretty much walkable to the center of Canterbury. No one should hesitate to book, strongly recommended.

Good hotel within 15 min walk to Cathedral. The area of Wincheap was very run down without great disabled access (ie lack of dropped curbs). Also hotel doesn’t have a lift. Nice pool but a shame the water temp was so low! Room was great and very clean.

The hotel has a small carpark accommodating up to about 10 cars.It is conveniently located being just a short 15 minute walk from the centre of Canterbury. We stayed in room 14 on the second floor which was lovely and big (with a huge bathroom) but rather noisy, as it looked out over the main road, although secondary glazing helped surpress most of the road noise. The room was comfortable and clean with a good tv. Breakfast was self service with plenty of food beit a full English or continental and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel appears to be in the process of being refurbished as it was being painted externally (July '25) and clad in scaffold to the rear. Overall, the hotel provides decent accommodation to stay for a trip to Canterbury and I would use it again.

It's a decent value hotel, clean rooms. Heating works. Indoor heated (but not warm) pool which is nice to relax. Facilities aren't all in perfect working condition but this is totally worth it as it's only minor issues here and there. Within walking distance (15-20 min) of anything central for a much more reasonable price than some other central hotels. Breakfast is super. Plenty of choice in the buffet.

Nice hotel, short distance from Canterbury. Room was ok, beds are however too soft for my liking. All the big chains seem to have solved this problem but the smaller hotels still persevere with these less satisfactory mattresses. Breakfast was ok but a bit short of veggie alternatives.
