very pleased with the hotel overall but didn’t like having to walk through smokers outside hotel doors - leaving luggage was handy for us to have a good walk around quayside and shops before room ready. Lifts worked well and staff were pleasant

Fantastic stay. The staff were all super helpful. We didn’t realise when booking that we had a superior room which meant that we could check out later and receive a voucher for the bar. Room was immaculate and beds very comfortable.

Rebrand and increased pricing but the hotel is old and tired, in desperate need of an refresh. 15 minute wait to get a coffee from the bar, 10 minute wait for drink in the evening and on both occasions only a handful of guests there. Breakfast staff are great but food not the best, choice is vastly reduced from previous stay. Vending machines both broken so no option for water later in the evening. Toilets out of order in conference space floor. Really disappointing overall.

The hotel is nice. All areas from the lobby and the bar to the bedrooms with ensuite are very clean and spacious. 3 lifts (elevators) and all work, with a good space for 8 people to stand in without issue. The parking is over the road, not on the hotel grounds. For long term parking it is £14 for 10-24 hours or £30 for 5 days. The hotel has a ticket that will give a discount off the parking, whether it works for the longer stays, I don't know, but it knocked £3 off our ticket price from £14 down to £11. I have lactose intolerance and the bar was able to provide soy milk for a cup of tea/coffee. The bed is comfy, firm but nice and the pillows are plump. It is a short walk to town, and a short walk to the stations. We didn't have food on site as we wanted a breakfast boa bun (5 mins walk) and dimsum (less than 10 min walk to Chinatown). No issues, all the staff are friendly and very helpful. We would stay again.

The hotel room was nice. There was an iron and an ironing board but no hair dryer. Which seemed odd to me as I would think a hair dryer is used more than an ironing board. The beds were comfy, the place was clean and the room had blackout curtains, which was very appreciated. There were very few plug sockets though. No on site parking but there's a parking place across the road that does 24hr parking for £14 a day or £11 a day with discount provided by the hotel.

Location within easy walking distance of train station..Solo traveller my room had a large dble bed, table one chair. Toilitries iron and board. Tv good wifi. Room overlooked main road etc and Atilita venue. With window closed it was noise free..amazing. also has secondary glazing. Everything for a pleasant stay Breakfast choice and a great menu and seperate bar. Also quiet lounge areas on the accomodation floors.

The bed was particularly comfortable, can tell that an investment in new mattresses has been made, however lacked a mattress protector or a topper. The poorly fitting sheet came loose during the night and woke up laid on the bare mattress! The bathroom however needs a LOT of attention. The ceiling above and tiles around the bath were suffering from black mould, as was the shower head which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in some time! The complimentary toiletries had incorrect pump dispensers which didn’t fit properly so were sat loose in the bottles, with the same black mould up inside the lid. Ironic that the place you clean yourself in was so dirty! The shower curtain had also seen better days and wasn’t very white. Very disappointing, stayed here many times and seems to be going downhill quickly. Disturbed at 3am by drunken antics in the corridor with lots of shouting, running and banging, but guess that comes with the territory of a city centre hotel on a Saturday night.

Location was really good, short walk to city centre. Really friendly check in staff also. We had some issues with cleanliness of the room, there were short hairs all over the bed sheets which was quite disgusting, as well as stains on the carpets. There was also stains on the chair and all up the curtains - looked like food of some sort. Toilet in the bathroom also had brown stains in the bowl. Just could do with a proper deep clean.

Clean and comfortable bed towels clean , hand towel had holes in, toilet lid hadn't been cleaned had awful mess underneath, requested it to be cleaned and marks up bathroom wall, shower cold, dust in all areas,sorry to say disappointed as was looking forward to a well deserved break away.

Housekeeping standards have slipped. Normally our first choice stay in Newcastle but very disappointed on this occasion. Bathroom had lots of hairs on the floor, toothpaste on the tiles around sink, shower curtain mouldy and shower head needed a deep clean as sprayed out at all angles other than down! Carpet in bedroom very dusty around edges, but bed was clean and comfortable.

The shower head had mould. Very disappointing. In order to have a shower we had to clean the shower head ourselves. Sounds petulante, you are paying for a service, we only had that night. Didn't had time to wait for housekeeping. The bathroom had wear and tear. Not to standards like Leonardo Glasgow.

The room was not clean. The bathroom floor was filthy and covered in hairs. I took a video it was that bad. Window made terrible noise when it was windy. Toilet seat had a hole of some sort on it.

Room needs a refurb, worn carpet, sink plug and shower head needed a good clean. Coild hardly get soap out the dispenser. Radiator too close to the bed so could have easily burned yourself turning it down. Staff were all lovely. All of downstairs was spotless.

We checked out after an hour and went to stay somewhere else. The corridor along which our room was located looked like it hadn't be vacuumed in a very, very long time. The window in our room was probably the dirtiest I have ever seen. There was also a tea/coffee stain on the mirror. I don't really like to give negative reviews but really, it made us feel uncomfortable and as if people didn't care.

Hasnt been updated in 20 plus years, shower was pathetic and wouldnt wash a frog, still has a shower curtain / bath! Was booked to stay again, as hard to get two separate beds, but cancelled to stay elsewhere at a higher cost!

Always book this hotel when I can. However it's dated and needs improvement. Visitors don't always carry usb plugs for there phones and just have the cable. Hotel don't have usb sockets and only option is using back of TV to trickle charge your phone provided TV is on and don't go into standby, reception don't have plugs available or can rent you one even if paid deposit. Older hotels have updated one socket at least to have usb as part of there socket. Another year gone and still no improvement.

Check in was fine. I was moved rooms twice. I was initially on 7th floor and either the fan in toilet or a plant room above was extremely noisy. I was moved a few rooms along and it was no better so I was moved to 6 where I could still hear some sort of noise but it was tolerable. Staff were sympathetic helpful and pleasant but company needs to get that sorted as it is meant to be a high end hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable otherwise. Breakfast was fine apart from they served boiled potatoes? Would have thought hash browns should have e been the option.

This hotel is not the best I’ve ever stayed in, it’s looking a bit tired in the rooms, corridors and public areas. But, it’s good value and clean and near the station. However what makes this hotel is the staff - they are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble for them, chatty and friendly and very helpful. An example : I asked for a late check-out for a work meeting at midday, which unfortunately they couldn’t do because of other bookings but offered me a space in the bar area for a work meeting where they said they’d cordon off a space and keep it quiet for me. In the end the meeting got cancelled, but super helpful. Fully recommended as long as you don’t expect 4/5* luxury.

I judge a good hotel by. Comfy bed. Spacious rooms. Great staff. Quality breakfast this hotel ticked all those boxes. Also within easy walking distance to station. Dining.shops.attractions and short walk to the iconic quayside walk and bars.pubs and restaurants. Right by the arena if attending concerts etc. Large.safe carpark right across the street.

Breakfast was disappointing Not much choice no mushroom hash brown black pudding fruit juices mostly empty and you had to tip them to the side for anything to come out Nearly every table had used dishes etc on and you had to move the used dishes to another table

Really friendly staff, well equipped room and within easy reach of Newcastle city centre. Bed was so comfy I had the best night's sleep I've had for a while. Bar and restaurant excellent. Breakfast restaurant well laid out and excellent food and coffee. If I return to Newcastle I would definitely stay at the Leonardo again.

Overall the hotel was excellent and in a great location. The only downside was any hot food ordered, wasn't very hot. Seemed to be the same issue at breakfast and in the bar area.

We had no breakfast, yes it was refunded but the head chef forgot to order eggs, also no sausages the only item available at 10.00am was mushrooms out of a tin, and bacon. Its not what I expect from this type of hotel.

The breakfast was awesome, and there is a staff member called Susan that is so lovely. She works so hard hard making sure the breakfast buffet was well stocked and made sure all the guests were happy. She's the best.

The check in staff and night staff were friendly & efficient.rooms ok slight damp smell and no soap in room. However that soon changed come breakfast. Breakfast was a shambles no food left in buffet (9.10am ) as soon as the small amount was put out this instantly went, not enough staff to manage bank holiday weekend and event in the town. When I went to mention it to reception I was greeted by Hannah who said abruptly’I don’t deal with complaints you can speak to a manager ‘ to which my complaint was acknowledged but not before a load of excuses that the restaurant holds 100 and they have more then 200 people in but again this would have been known in advance
