The room was clean and the selection of amenities was great (razor with shaving cream, towel), etc.. Also the safety feature of needing to swipe your room key in the elevator was much appreciated. The bountiful breakfast buffet and the very courteous staff at Cross-dine was wonderful. The lobby's beautifully decorated Christmas tree made for an impressive first impression. And finally, the location near to Yoshinoya, Family Mart, Lumine, Ike Bus & the train station was beyond convenient. Thank you Hotel Metropolitan for a memorable stay.

This hotel just celebrated its 40th birthday so it's not the newest but is well kept and in a very convenient location, almost next to Ikebukuro station. It's on the opposite corer from one of the malls that are part of the station complex. Rooms are a good size and most would have decent views. The breakfast buffet was good and comprehensive. The hotel also sells gym day passes for guests that give access to a moderately comprehensive commercial gym and pool in the same building.

Great hotel! Old-school focused on excellent service and they do deliver it. Room is a nice size. Hotel is very easy to get to from the airports using the limousine bus service. I needed help with transfer from the hotel to the airport and they scheduled a van for us. They have a new laundry area on the 5th floor, which was very useful.

Lower floor, but larger room. Acceptable trade-off. Clean and neat. Bathroom is dated, especially toilet. The laundry room was relocated to a better floor and you can check on tv which ones are not being used.

The hotel was conveniently located near JR and subway lines, with plenty of food options nearby. A nice touch was the two complimentary bottles of water provided each day. The Airport Limousine bus stop was right in front of the hotel, which was extremely convenient—we usually pay to have our luggage shipped to the airport, but this saved us both time and money. The room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. The only downside was the shampoo and conditioner, which left our hair feeling dry, so we ended up purchasing our own.

We totally live 8 nights. The staffs are very nice and helpful. There is airport bus stop in front of the hotel. The hotel helped us store the luggage’s by free of charge during we visited Kyoto. However their Gym room is charged.

The hotel was nice - common areas were beautiful. The rooms smelled like old cigarettes and the air was stale. The AC until leaked water and made the carpet damp. The bathroom had mold in the tiles, vent, and other “sealed” areas. I am allergic to mold so I had a reaction after only one night (less than 24 hour) stay.

Room condition is maintained very clean throughout the stay. Hotel staff is very courteous and friendly. Location is very convenient to transportation and shopping. However the room smells musty and I have to use air freshener to get rid of the smell daily. Bathroom light is kind of dim but is manageable. Overall, I have a pleasant stay and will come back again.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a great view of the city from our room. The lobby and lounge areas were luxurious, giving a relaxing atmosphere. The location is perfect for touring all the hot spots in Tokyo including Ikebukuro.

This is a premium but aging facility. Very elegant, but my room was somewhat cramped with the closet behind the bed. Bracket for the shower came off the wall. Breakfast buffet was extremely crowded and somewhat chaotic. West side rooms face city police HQ with sirens at all hours.

Great location, close to Ikebukuro station. Room is clean and spacious. Staff are friendly and efficient. Bathroom needs an exhaust fan and had strong, unpleasant sewage smell even with the toilet deodoriser on.

Great location right next to train station. Neighborhood has lots to do and is not a tourist trap area. Hotel was very clean and modern. Loved the view of Mt Fuji from my room, the bathtub and pjs that were provided. Will stay here again when traveling to Tokyo!

The hotel room is rundown. The carpet, bathroom and furniture is old and needs renovation. The soundproofing is inadequate - we could hear the people in the next room talking, sneezing and moving around. We stayed at this hotel based on its 4+ star rating. Perhaps it was once worthy of this but currently it’s only worth 2 stars.

Excellent location beside train station making very easy access to any part of Tokyo. Staff very helpful especially with luggage transfer. Rooms small, never understand why they fill them with furniture , take out 2 armchairs & unnecessary table & room would have been much more comfortable!,, had to move bed so both of us had access!!!!

The reason I give 3 stars is because the operation of this hotel is confusing. We added a second person during check in and paid extra. The first breakfast we had was ok and the restaurant staff acknowledged two people, but for the second breakfast we were told that we needed to pay for the second person which we already paid during check in. It seemed that front desk staff and restaurant staff tried to let guests pay more for their own job performance. They should have a uniform policy and consistent practice.

The room was comfortable and the workers, from mgmt to the bell hop, were all polite and nice. We were looking for a wagyu dinner and mgmt was calling several restaurants and they were all booked. Then we called one in-house and walked us down to the restaurant to make sure we were given a table. What service!

Late check-in was great. Check-in process was quick and efficient. Staff was courteous, with an attention to detail. When informed that the room safe was not working, housekeeping responded promptly, apologized for the problem and quickly fixed the problem.

Had a very pleasant stay, the room was nice and all the staff seems very knowledgeable. What stood apart was one particular staff - Yoshida-san who was very attentive and went beyond and above on his service. He made our stay very memorable. We would come back and stay here.

Great location near Ikebukuro station. Very good buffet breakfast daily provides the perfect start to your day. Make sure to book the room with breakfast. The Airport Limousine Bus provides transportation from the Haneda or Narita Airports to the hotel and back. Tickets are affordable.

The hotel was conveniently located within Tokyo. It is close to the train station, particularly the JR Yamanote line which hits all of the major city centers. It is also close to shopping & restaurants in Ikebukuro. The hotel is more dated but still elegant and rooms were clean and comfortable. There were several great restaurant and bar options within the hotel as well. I would definitely stay here again for future trips!

The location is excellent — just steps from the subway station, large shopping malls, great restaurants, and 24-hour convenience stores. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they spoke good English. You can even purchase airport bus tickets to Haneda and Narita directly at the front desk. The bus stop is conveniently located right at the hotel entrance.

This hotel has been our home while we are in Tokyo. The staff are very polite and friendly. Rooms are clean, location is super convenient! Right across the street from Ikebukuro station. Lots of dining and shopping options in the many department stores located in the train station. Also a huge plus for us is the Airport Limousine Bus service which drops us off and picks us up to and from the Haneda airport.

A major plus is the low-cost airport shuttle bus from Narita Terminal 1 that stops near the hotel—super convenient if you have a lot of luggage and want to avoid transfers. There’s even a TULLY'S Coffee right next door, perfect for a quick coffee or breakfast. Overall, it’s a safe, convenient, and comfortable place to stay in Tokyo. Highly recommended!

일단 교통이 복잡한 도쿄에서 이케부쿠로 리무진(하네다, 나리타 모두) 잘 되어 있었고, 호텔까지 와줬습니다. 그리고 이케부쿠로 서쪽 역 공항버스 정거장도 너무 가까이 있어서 좋았습니다. 지하철역도 호텔 입구에서 바로 나오면 있고, Tobu 백화점도 바로 가까이 있어서 쇼핑, 다이닝 모두 좋았습니다.

Great location & great staff! We made sure to book a room that included the breakfast buffet and looked forward to it each morning. There was something for everyone with a lot of thought given to healthy food options. Housekeeping staff were amazing and kept our room spotless. We appreciated the room amenities, especially bottled water that was replenished each day. Coffee & tea were also available in room, but I usually got my coffee at breakfast so didn’t need to brew my own. All the staff that we interacted with were very gracious, polite, and kind. One day, I accidentally left my keycard in the room and had to ask guest services to use the house phone so I could call my husband and have him come & get me; the hotel employs a security system where a keycard is needed to use the elevator to get to the appropriate floor. The guest services representative, after asking some personally identifying information, had someone personally escort me to my room. This hotel continues to impress me with their exceptional customer service & great location.

Clean room. Excellent staff. Excellent service. Only 1 needs improvement. The Japanese breakfast side needs significant improvement. The miso soup was the worsted I had in Japan. Selection of Japanese items was inferior.
