Aava Whistler Hotel

Clean room and good location. Note: parking is not free.

Room was very clean! Pool, sauna, hot tub was great. Staff courteous and helpful.

The employees are awesome at Aava. Aava is one of the few properties in Whistler that have true secure bike storage and the only people with access are Aava employees. While you might have to wait a minute or two for your bike, you never have to worry about it once you hand it over to them. The employees who help keep the rooms and the property clean are all incredibly nice and do a fantastic job. The only reason I didn’t leave five stars across the board is: the room we stayed in didn’t have any place to hang towels, no tiny table to eat from, and no microwave to heat up leftovers. We’ve been coming here for years, so am thinking it was just the room choice this time around. In general, if you are looking for a great place to stay and know your bikes will be secured, stay here!!

Underground parking height is only 6’2”

Hot tub and pool closed. I asked for the parking to be included given lack of amenities but no concesion at all considered. Second time at this property that hot tub closed

Great location to Whistler Village. Underground parking is nice and is an additional fee per day. They also have bike and ski valet service. The pool and hot tub are small. A bit noisy depending on your room location. I was on the third floor and next to a stairway door in which the cleaning staff kept letting the door slam all morning. Overall this a a good value based on location and amenities.

The room was clean. The outdoor pool and hot tub was awesome. The staff was very friendly and polite.

Great value hotel with good sized room and in a really good location in whistler. Friendly staff and a decent pool and spa area for winding down. Only minor issue is lack of changing room space in the pool area.

Hotel was clean and comfortable - fairly minimal decoration and furnishings but that was fine. Location is very convenient to walk into Whistler village where there are many restaurants and bars. Parking costs $24 in underground carpark & they let us in to park before check in time.

Our room smelled musty and there was a thick layer of dust on the window sills and furniture, including a dead bug. Granted, we did stay in a pet friendly room, however I did expect the room to cleaner than it was. We were also missing coffee pods and robes which we retrieved from the front desk. I feel as though time likely ran out for our room to be properly serviced before our arrival. The hotel itself is a bit tired looking and could definitely use a refresher. Other than that, it was a quiet and convenient location. I would be hesitant to return if I had other options in Whistler available to me.

There was hair from the previous occupant in the bathroom. Also, tiny ants in the bathroom. Drink rings on the night stand. Was not very clean, noise from the hallway was easily heard in the room.

Great location close walk to all of the bars and restaurants in the village, the pool and hot tubs were nice and the spinning lobby chairs were pretty neat. The room had high ceilings and a nice cold ac unit and the Staff was friendly. Unfortunately there were paint stains on the furniture, bedding had rips and tears, the bed itself definitely needed replacing it was sunk right in the middle and I’m 180 lbs. We enjoyed our stay overall but I wouldn’t recommend it over other hotels around the same price range.

The room unfortunately smells very strongly of wet dog. Left the window open for a few hours and the smell is still pungent. Maybe in the carpet from a previous guests pet? It needs to be cleaned and disinfected.

Great pool, hot tub and sauna. Rooms are small and plain. Sheets are like newspaper and have holes. Lousy room coffee. Apparently there was an elephant in the room above. Won’t go back

Very clean, spacious bedroom

Noise transfer from unit above and from corridor was horrific. HVAC unit was really loud and cycled on every 10 minutes or so to maintain temp; holes in sheets; overall felt a bit like a college dorm.

We liked the location. Short walk to all amenities. Not happy with room service. Did not make up room or provide fresh towels. Hot tub could been a bit cleaner as well. Overall okay.

Room is clean and facilities are good. However, the walls were thin, and I could hear voices from the next room, which disturbed my sleep. I came to the hotel to relax, but unfortunately, I couldn’t relax at all.

I stayed in room 126 and the bed was absolutely so uncomfortable I would never stay in this hotel ever again. As well as the pillows were extremely uncomfortable big factor I didn't sleep because how uncomfortable it was.

Decent place for the price. Room relatively clean. Walls are VERY thin. Could hear neighbours phone on vibrate in next room, and received noise complaint for our TV that was not very loud. Best for short stays.

It was a nice hotel and the only negative was that our AC was quite noisy, kicking on and off so we didn't have a great sleep.

Generally nice hotel from the looks of it and convenient location. Staff was nice. Bike storage was good. We had a king bed room and the mattress was not good at all. It was all bumpy on one side and like sleeping in a hole. Update long overdue. TV in the room with small cheap screen. Parking is 6'2 so taller cars don't fit and parking outside is quite a mess.

We loved the property. Loved our room with vaulted ceiling. We loved the size of the room. But I do have 2 things. The coffee area near the lobby only taking bills so the minimum is 5 dollars with no change given when the coffee is 2.50 is a bit of a rip off. The property needs to invest in a second or third hot tub. We went to use the pool and hot tub and had fun in the pool it was nicely heated for the end of November but the hot tub was full of people that brought there alcohol and weren’t going to leave any time soon making us loose out when that was one of the reason we wanted to stay there.

Very nice hotel. Walls are very thin. So when the people next to our room came back at 2:30am - sounded like they were in the room with us. Other than that - a nice hotel.

The staff were very friendly especially the nice lady with purple coloured highlights, she was very helpful, nice and informative. Loved the hot tub, and the proximity to the village, was excellent.

The property was great and in a good location. The staff was terribly rude the whole trip and in every situation.

We were delayed driving as a car caught fire on the highway. We saw the flames and ambulance and this was a disturbing experience. When we arrived at the hotel at 1am, we had to double park the car outside as there wasn't parking available till we checked in. We explained our delay to the night staff who laughed at this and asked to see photos of the car in flames. This is not what we would have expected as a reaction to a possible death by flames. To make matters worse, we were given keys to a room that was already occupied; we only found out once we made our way up with luggages, the key card didn’t work and I heard someone move inside. We told reception staff who jokingly apologised even though we didn’t find this amusing and just wanted to shower and sleep after a long journey. The next room given was a connecting room on the 3rd floor, but as soon as we went to open the door we could hear a dog barking loudly next door. The dog wouldn’t stop barking so we asked reception to move room as we wouldn’t be able to get any sleep or relaxation. They were adamant that the room I booked had a sofa besides a double bed, but the only rooms available are two single beds only. I told him I don’t really care at this stage as we really want a room. The staff were making their way up to “talk to the owner to keep the dog quiet.” We said this is an animal and you cannot turn them off. The 3rd room given was down a corridor on the groundfloor and darker, so worse than what I had booked.

Overall, the stay was fine. I like it there. The only thing that happened that really bothered me was on the Saturday night, we went to the hotel lobby to play some games at the big table they have down there. After all, you would think the table and furniture is there for guests to use and enjoy, and we wouldn't want to play games in the room with like 8 people as we wouldn't want to disturb anyone. Last year for my birthday we went up and stayed there, and used that table and space specifically for that and it was a fantastic time. Which is why we chose to stay there again. But...we went down to lobby, and were sitting there, enjoying outselves, and at like, I dunno, around 10:45 or something like that, whatever time it was. Maybe 11, I am not sure, the front desk guy comes out of the back room and decides to shut all the overhead lobby lights off on us. We were all like, what the heck! We were all just really shocked at that. Here you have guests, using the facilities and table and chairs that you have set up, that is supposed to be for guests, and he shuts it off and puts us in the dock. NOT impressed at all, whatsoever. We were going to make an annual thing of this, to get together and stay there, as we really liked the place for that exact reason. That great lobby area where we could use the space. But if that is what is going to happen, not sure we want to stay there next year. Was very very rude and disrespectful and not the way to give a good guest exp.

Hotel is very central- only 5 minute walk to the village square. Close to good walking paths too. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had to switch rooms because of noisy people above me but they found me a quieter room. Beds were very comfortable and the Malin and Goetz toiletry products smelled so good! Would definitely stay here again. The only issue we had was my pickup truck did not fit in their underground parkade (only 6’2 clearance) but they allowed me to park out front.

Front desk people rude with a lots of "no" unnecessarily. Not once, 3 times.....

Pros: The hotel was clean and well-kept, which was a big plus. Its location is very convenient — just a short walk to Whistler Village, so getting to restaurants, shops, and the lifts was easy and stress-free. Cons: Check-in was delayed. Even though I arrived early, I wasn’t expecting to get into the room right away, but our actual check-in didn’t happen until 4:15 PM — 15 minutes past the official 4:00 PM check-in time. Not a major delay, but still a bit frustrating after a long journey. They also took a $50 security deposit at check-in, which they said would be refunded at checkout. It’s now been two days since we checked out, and the refund still hasn’t been processed. Parking was an additional $29 per night, which adds up quickly and felt a bit overpriced given the overall experience. Another downside was the pool and hot tub — they were overcrowded during our stay, to the point that we couldn’t really access or enjoy them, which was disappointing as we were looking forward to relaxing after a day on the mountain. Summary: While the hotel was clean and well-located, the service delays, additional charges, and lack of access to the amenities affected the overall value. It’s okay for a short stay if location is your top priority, but I’d recommend managing expectations around service and amenities

Solid functional room with a Keurig coffee machine and a TV you could cast to. At the entrance to Whistler Village (not the Upper Village or Creekside village) which put everything within an easy and pleasant walk.

All in all it was a great experience. Just couple things that taken away points from perfection: 1) the coffee machine in our room was broken and we were not able to use it so we had to wake up and walk to the village to have coffee (hotel has Nespresso machine for $2.50 but might as well have our bfast and coffee together). 2) AC in our room did not really cool the room was not sure if it was broken but we put it in a low temp setting but we still woke up warm at night with our blankets. 3) the pool was ice cold. They said it was heated up to 80°F but it felt like it was 15°C (maybe I heard it wrong and they meant 18°C). Other than that, hotel staff were nice, polite and easy to talk to, especially the housekeeping who always greet us and have smiles on their face when we see them. The hotel is about 2-3min walk to the village (depending on how fast you walk lol) and we liked that it was close enough to walk to shops but also a bit far from the hustle and bustle (noise and noisy drunk people) in the village especially in the wee hours of the night. Would defo book again and would recommend to friends and family fr.

Great location. This former Coast Hotel is by WildBlue (but no benefits unfortunately). Pool is small and unheated and needs cleaning a little more often. The room was clean, comfortable, modern and had a nice room view on the top floor of the mountains. Windows were triple paned and blocked out all highway traffic. Good bed. No bar and odd but useful nespresso coffee in lobby was 5$ for two which was better deal than nearby coffee shop. Room has only a small fridge. The nice fire pit is unavailable after 10pm. This should be moved to the public space 5m away that is open. Front staff were attentive and helpful. Parking was reasonable at 24$/d.

The hotel was okay with a good location and staff was the same - not overtly friendly but not unpleasant. But we were not terribly impressed as we had requested a room on the top floor but were told upon checkin there were no rooms available. The hotel was not very quiet as we had to listen to lots of noises from doors opening and closing, people in the room above walking on our ceiling and people in adjacent rooms with televisions going until late into the evenings. No breakfast/food was available - either free or for purchase other than a couple of vending machinces although there was one small microwave available to use just off the lobby. Also, their web site refers to "limited parking" but no mention of the $24 per night charge for utilzing it. We likely will not be staying at this property again.

Room is nice little noisy but fine. No restaurant but okay Village steps away. Prefer this hotel as close to main village but not in it!
