Staff was absolutely lovely; the hotel itself was laughably confused at what it was. Wanna get a drink on their advertised rooftop bar? Be ready to beg for a drink without having to order a four course meal. Even when every table and the bar is empty. Also be ready to feel embarrassed when you order a drink at the bar they say is open and have every server just stare at you as they pass by and do god knows what. So awkward and weird

Hotel had been great in a beautiful city. Spoiled by one individual who would not allow us to sit at a stacked unused table due to all other tables on the sun terrace being taken. There had been a vast amount of room for the table which we set up ourselves. The guy then chastised us in front of other guests where one of our party informed him he was rood. Should have simply set our table up to make guests happy. Dont let one person put you off the hotel. Enjoyed are stay.

Beautifully restored hotel situated very conveniently across from the train station and within easy walking distance of the main city sights. Beautiful views from the rooftop terrace, with panoramic views of Florence. One of the best buffet breakfasts we have had, including a full spread of both Italian and American favourites, along with free flowing cappuccino and mimosas. However, the restaurant pricing was very high given the quality and portions served, and service was so slow at lunch that we were late for a guided tour. Stay here, but eat lunch/dinner elsewhere.

Love this hotel the only thing you need to know is the rooftop sometimes is rented out I believe mostly on the weekends and you cannot use it which when you pay this type of money you would like to be able to use all of the facilities if they only section off part Of the rooftop when Rentingout that would be much better

A traditional Italian hotel. Lots of dark wood. Staff very friendly. Breakfast view of the Duomo is stunning. Fair buffet breakfast. Roof top terrace bar. Not quite enough staff. Brilliant shower, always loads of hot water. WiFi is virtually non existent. They know this and nothing is done. Weirdly our European adapter that we’ve used all over Europe wouldn’t fit, we bought another one. Great location. You are near everywhere. We arrived by train from Pisa and it’s an easy underground walk to the hotel. I’d probably stay there again.

great location. The rooms are spotless and the staff excellent. The only issue are the placement of the electrical plugs. When the rooms were upgraded, the electrical work could have been improved. This, however, is a minor detail. We've stayed at this hotel many many times and our stay has always been pleasant.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of character. The property definitely needs maintenance. Carpeted areas smell musty. The air conditioner's filter was really in need of a cleaning. My room felt stuffy and damp.

The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient and close to everything. The reception staff were also great: friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. However, I was quite disappointed with a few aspects. Although the minibar items were complimentary, I was surprised to learn that extra bottles of water were not free. Not only did I have to pay for them, but I also had to call both the bar and room service to find out how to get them. When I finally reached someone from room service, I was told that I had to go up to the 5th floor to collect the water myself. Only when I arrived there did I find out that the water was chargeable — quite inconvenient and confusing for a 4-star hotel. Cleanliness was also not up to standard. When I first arrived, I noticed two strands of hair in the sink, which was disappointing and gave a poor first impression. The hotel itself feels rather old. I stayed on the first floor and paid extra for a garden view, but throughout the night I could hear the sound of water running through the pipes, which made it difficult to sleep. Overall, while the location and staff were great, the cleanliness, facilities, and room quality didn’t meet my expectations for a 4-star property. If I were to stay again, I’d avoid paying extra for rooms with additional “facilities,” as they didn’t really add much value to the experience.

Ideally located historic property tries hard but needs an update. White paint needed. Dark, almost medieval, atmosphere gives the hotel a somber appearance. Our room, a suite, did have nice space but was essentially windowless (2 windows looked into walls or alleys darker than the hotel). Room was clean enough but evidence from past guests remained - ick. One spectacular bright spot is the rooftop space for breakfast and evenings.

I did not sleep AT ALL for the 3 nights we stayed at this property. The beds were extremely firm, when you sat on the bed, there was no bounce (just to give you an idea). I would have been better off sleep on the damn floor. My body was very sore when I got out of bed each morning. The pillows were no better, very flat and uncomfortable. This was the worst leg of our trip due to the lack of sleep I had… Also, it states on their Expedia page there is a laundry facility. This is false, they offer laundry service for a ridiculous amount. However, there is a laundry mat a 2 minute walk away. The lowest you can put the AC is 18• & there’s no way our room was that temperature, It was so hot in the room. For the price, I’d strongly suggest staying somewhere else. The page also states that the rooms are soundproof, this is also false. I put my child to sleep one night, and a group of loud drunk women passed our room waking my daughter at 11pm. The few pros were friendly staff and a daily restocked mini bar (mostly drinks, a pack of peanuts & 1 small cookie)…. That’s pretty much it

The room was quite small. Couldn't fit our suitcases. The bathroom was treacherous. Getting in and out of the shower was quite dangerous and we almost fell a couple of times.

Nice breakfast selection with beautiful views over Florence. Hotel is very dark and moody - kind of place Dracula would stay. Makes it a bit difficult to see belongings in the room. Very clean and everything in good condition. Large spacious room with big bathroom. Shower is over bath, with a very slippery floor, no room for handrail and bath has steep sides that have no place to sit shampoo etc. No full length mirror and weak hairdryer. Weirdly despite the large bathroom the toilet is placed up against a curtain. Reasonable amount of street noise which doesn’t bother me but would some. This hotel is very unique and in a very good location. Right next to train station and super close to the duomo. Nice view of duomo at breakfast too. Because it is very old, the rooms are old. Our room had a locked door that we guess connected to another room because we heard every word they said. Otherwise, nice hotel with great location. Would likely stay here again.

We loved our stay here. Staff was friendly and helpful. When we asked for an upgrade they went out of their way to help us. Breakfast is extra unless you include it in your rate. I’d suggest including it. We wished we had because it was super yummy with lots of options. Coffee is only in your room otherwise, which is more instant which we didn't like. Otherwise you’ll pay for it. There’s cafes close by if you prefer to wait. Train and bus stations are an easy 7 minute walk. We walked to everything and found the hotel location to be perfect for us. We’d stay and recommend to others.

Room was ok, as expected but very disappointed with the attitude of the staff at the bar, almost refused a drink in the afternoon as the barman was busy serving locals. not what i expect when paying over £400 a night to stay there. Was not just us as we witnessed others being treated the same.

The location of the hotel is excellent — very convenient and close to everything. The reception staff were also great: friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. However, I was quite disappointed with a few aspects. Although the minibar items were complimentary, I was surprised to learn that extra bottles of water were not free. Not only did I have to pay for them, but I also had to call both the bar and room service to find out how to get them. When I finally reached someone from room service, I was told that I had to go up to the 5th floor to collect the water myself. Only when I arrived there did I find out that the water was chargeable — quite inconvenient and confusing for a 4-star hotel. Cleanliness was also not up to standard. When I first arrived, I noticed two strands of hair in the sink, which was disappointing and gave a poor first impression. The hotel itself feels rather old. Front staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. Always a smile and acknowledged your presence with a hello/good evening. Cleaning staff was ver thorough. We had some lights go out and it was taken care of in a blink of an eye. Rooms are very clean. Breakfast had a wide variety and was plentiful. Would return without hesitation.

old building with bad sound proof. One of the bathtub faucet broken. Charger is not working, you need to try multiple times in order to charge your phone. I asked how I can turn on the heater, front desk told me it is too early to turn on the heater, so there is not heater. However, they do have very strong heater in lobby and their restaurant, but not for our room… They touch and moved our items on desk and bed when doing the cleaning. They throw all our our clean underwear and clothing on the dirty sofa which looks black in order to make the bed. We complained at the front desk, they told me someone will reach to us for this problem, but actually no. We checkout 3 days after this complaint, no one reach to us…

We were very excited about our trip to Florence, but unfortunately our stay at the Grand Hotel Baglioni was perhaps the least enjoyable part. For a four-star hotel, it offered little charm and lacked some basic amenities, such as a water station and complimentary coffee for guests outside of breakfast hours. Our room did not have a proper window, but instead opened onto a smokers’ terrace. As a result, apart from the occasions when we had breakfast on the beautiful rooftop bar terrace, we saw very little of Florence from the hotel itself. The building also had a persistent smell of damp, and the plumbing was extremely loud whenever water was used in the surrounding rooms. The staff were polite enough, but did not always follow the “do not disturb” signs; even with the card on the door handle, we were still interrupted by knocks. The breakfast buffet was disappointing compared with other four-star hotels we have stayed in, although they did at least provide a range of packaged gluten-free items. The hotel appears to cater primarily to large American and Asian tour groups, which gives the impression it has sacrificed much of its individuality and character in favour of volume. The best thing about the property is its location, which allows for a quick walk into the heart of Florence. However, there is a significant homeless presence around the hotel, and during our stay we encountered human faeces on the street multiple times. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel

Hotel had been great in a beautiful city. Spoiled by one individual who would not allow us to sit at a stacked unused table due to all other tables on the sun terrace being taken. There had been a vast amount of room for the table which we set up ourselves. The guy then chastised us in front of other guests where one of our party informed him he was rood. Should have simply set our table up to make guests happy. Dont let one person put you off the hotel. Enjoyed are stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights and the service was horrible. They told us our room would be ready in 3 hours, and then tried giving us a worse room for the price we paid. They then pushed the wait to 5 hours and never told us when the room was ready until we asked them. They tried showing understanding by giving a wine bottle but it never came. Overall, the stay was fine except the service.

From the moment we saw the hotel across the plaza to the moment we checked out and ran to our train, we loved the Grand Hotel Baglioni. The reception staff was wonderful! The gentlemen that helped us the most were Sr Bonarino who checked us in and gave us great transit advice for one of our unique stops, and Sr Francesco, who took our bags right up to our room for us and said hello to us each time we passed in the hallways. The room itself was marvelous! We will absolutely be returning to this establishment in the future. It is in a magnificent location, relatively close to everything downtown, safe, clean, beautiful, and friendly. The premises and staff surpassed our wildest dreams and gave us a very memorable stay in the already memorable Firenze.

Stay was comfortable. It’s right next to train station and that was a big plus for us, convenient with luggage. The room floor creaks a bit but the hotel is old and historic so it makes sense. However it’s renovated and we dint face any problem. Breakfast was basic but rooftop views were beautiful.

Grand Hotel Baglioni is conveniently located about a 3-4 minute walk to the Florence SMN train station. We were immediately greeted on arrival by a bellman who collected our luggage to bring up to our room. We were able to check-in early, which was a plus. The room was clean and tidy, it had a Victorian royal look and feel to it. Another benefit was the use of an assigned cellphone to the room that we were able to use while touring each day. The staff were all friendly and prompt if assistance was needed. The only other info to note is that a international power adapter is needed in order to use the power sockets in Italy, and their are no small face towels, but this was the case with all of the hotels we stayed with. Otherwise I would definitely stay again and definitely recommend to others.

The morning breakfast was great. It's also a walk from the train station with easy underground access. Perfect if you arrive by train.

Would recommend making Hotel Restaurant reservation prior to arrival to get the benefit of the “beautiful roof top view of Florence”. We stayed 3 days and could not get reservations. Nice breakfast selection with beautiful views over Florence. Hotel is very dark and moody - kind of place Dracula would stay. Makes it a bit difficult to see belongings in the room. Very clean and everything in good condition. Large spacious room with big bathroom. Shower is over bath, with a very slippery floor, no room for handrail and bath has steep sides that have no place to sit shampoo etc. No full length mirror and weak hairdryer. Weirdly despite the large bathroom the toilet is placed up against a curtain. Reasonable amount of street noise which doesn’t bother me but would some. Very convenient location for tourist activities. Safe area. Enjoyed staying here as a woman on my own.

Beautiful views from the rooftop terrace, with panoramic views of Florence. One of the best buffet breakfasts we have had, including a full spread of both Italian and American favourites, along with free flowing cappuccino and mimosas. However, the restaurant pricing was very high given the quality and portions served, and service was so slow at lunch that we were late for a guided tour. Stay here, but eat lunch/dinner elsewhere.

Beautiful hotel and great staff. There was construction on our side, so they provided us a free bottle of Chianti wine. It was an amazing experience. The only negative was the service in the roof top lounge. We only managed to have 1 round until we were about to walk out after waiting about 49 minutes for the next round. They were not busy.

The only negative was the service in the roof top lounge. We only managed to have 1 round until we were about to walk out after waiting about 49 minutes for the next round. They were not busy.

Great experience. Very large breakfast each morning with delicious variety. Rooftop bar and restaurant is a must. Very near train station and lots of shopping, restaurants. Would recommend!
