Great Hotel for a stay in Pisa. The location is just perfect. The staff at the Hotel is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are older but clean. I recommend booking a room to the front for a better view. The Breakfast is OK. Valet Parking is available and they are very careful with your property.

Park on área A3 if driving and hotel pays parking for 12 euros a day. Use easy park for 30 minutes until you get to front desk.

Outstanding traditional hotel within the city walls a few hundred meters from the tower and cathedral. The best view of them and the city was from the wonderful roof terrace. You can eat and drink up there too. Lots of excellent restaurants along the same street. Hard to find fault with this one.

Great location in a very nice hotel. Breakfast was fantastic Staff friendly and happy to help. Rooms are a little dated but added to ambiance Would stay again. Small garage on site for parking but reserve in advance. Hotel handles the ZTL reporting.

Hotel is very close to Piazza dei Miracoli. Very walkable with many shops and restaurant's close by. Some of the restaurants are a little touristy but that can be changed with a 5 minute walk. Lovely terrace on the top floor with a great view of the city. Parking is slightly complicated with the location of the hotel as the roads are closed to non local traffic but a parking lot is not to far away

Great hotel in a very convenient location so close to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Only huge problem is parking. The hotel states they have "off site parking" which in reality is street parking that you have to pay extra for at the hotel. It's extremely difficult to find any open parking spots. 1st one we found was about a mile away. Had to drag our suitcases over narrow cobblestone streets that were quite congested with people and cars on a hot day. Eventually we were able to go back to our car late at night and moved it to a parking space 2 blocks from the hotel which made our departure much easier than our arrival. The perfect hotel if you come to Pisa by train or air.

Very close to the leaning tower. Great roof top restaurant. Fantastic view. Opted for a smaller room with a tiny standing balcony and double french doors that let the breeze in at night. Safe. Great restaurants basically outside the hotel. Simple access to all sites. Storage area for luggage. Cab access directly to the hotel. Even though theres a road by the hotel there is no noise late at night. Breakfast had many choices but the room could do with renovation, as could the lobby and some rooms. Good for a short stay.

Excellent location for the tower, duomo and exploring the city. Good choices for food and drink too. Hotel is pleasant, but a little tired in places. Generally well kept and staff were helpful. Black mould in shower (on edges and also in the shower jets), jacuzzi/ bubbles in bath did not work. Otherwise very clean room, so let down by this oversight.

I think this is the first time I write a review like this but I feel like it’s my responsibility to let other people know. Sadly this hotel is very old and it shows. Not clean at all. I would like to be able to put the pictures here… There was a LOT of dust (like clouds of dust under the bed, in the corners and in the floor behind the curtains). The bed fitted had hole on it 😳, the towels were stained, didn’t smell well and you can tell that they are old or have been used for a long time. The shower was clogged and you can hear every single noice from other rooms and from outside the room. On the other side, the location was great and the terrace has a beautiful view of the leaning tower and Basilica.

The room was clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace is a real bonus with beautiful views and easy access at all times and nice shaded areas to sit and enjoy the vista. The hotel is very close to all the major attractions on the doorstep. Breakfast was excellent, the staff extremely kind and helpful and the facility to leave luggage as needed, before check-in or after check-out. Best of all, they had our room ready when we arrived, well before the official check-in time. Very much appreciated.

We were really looking forward to stay at this hotel but unfortunately our hotel room had a big spot of black mold on the wall of the bedroom. The staff was accommodating and gave us a different room, but that also had mold in the bathroom and shower. The positives of this place are: decent air conditioning, comfortable beds, nice rooftop deck and the breakfast buffet was perfect for those looking to get a bite before a day of exploring Pisa.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Duomo twice in 10 days. The hotel is in a great location, close to the leaning tower, cathedral and museum. There are a number of restaurants nearby. The staff were, for the most part, extremely friendly and helpful. The viewing gallery and restaurant on the top floor are beautiful, with magnificent views. I recommend a visit at sunset, We ate there once and the food was great. I can’t fault the restaurant in any way. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. This is a perfect place to stay for a break in Pisa. However, there was one an issue that prevented the hotel getting 10/10. On the last day of our stay, we came back from a day’s sightseeing at 3:30 to find that our toilet wouldn’t flush. I went down to reception to report this and the receptionist told me that he would get a colleague to look at it. By 7pm nobody came to look. I again reported the problem to the front desk to a different representative. Again I was told that a colleague would look into the problem. We came back from dinner to discover that the toilet still hadn’t been fixed! front desk to be told that there were no staff available to fix the problem as it was a Sunday and the only alternative was that we could change rooms so, we had to pack up our room and move our belongings to a room on the floor above. Surely this lack of staff would have been known at 3:30 when we initially reported the issue? It is such a shame as this really left us disappointed with our stay

Terrific location within a very short walk of the leaning tower and cathedral. We had a few issues with the cleanliness of the bathroom on arrival, but it was sorted out reasonably promptly. The staff were pleasant, breakfast was quite good, the room was comfortable, quiet and cool, the internet worked fine and the hotel had a generally pleasant ambience.

We stayed at Grand Hotel Duomo from 17th to 19th October for a joint 40th birthday celebration, and unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations. Our first room (122) was in poor condition: - The room was dirty, with debris on the floor and visible wall damage. - Light fixtures were loose, curtains were stitched shut and couldn’t be closed. - The bathroom drainage smelled strongly of urine, and the accessible-style shower would have flooded the entire floor if used. - Only one plug socket was available, making it difficult for two guests to charge devices. - TV wires were tangled and exposed, and the ceiling paint was peeling. - Most concerningly, one of us was bitten after getting into the bed. After showing photos to reception just after midnight, we were moved to Room 126. While it didn’t smell and had less debris, it still had a hole in the wall, marked surfaces, and midges flying around. We raised these issues in person and followed up with a formal complaint, but received no refund or goodwill gesture. For a hotel marketed as 4-star, the room conditions were unacceptable. We don’t mind simple accommodation, but basic cleanliness and maintenance should be a given. Would not recommend based on this experience.

We got to the property late, so maybe that’s why we got the room that we did. But it was tiny and didn’t appear to be cleaned well. There were dry contacts on the floor, small pieces of trash under the bed, and the shower didn’t drain. Additionally, the property is pretty aged, with the toilet not working well. I could see how people rated it well but based on the room we were put into, I can’t rate it high. The location is nice and the AC felt amazing.

Hotel is basic but did have a smell which was not nice. Corridor to our room on third floor also had a bad smell. Our room had marks on the walls. Bed and linen and bathroom was all clean. Shower was very low pressure but fine. This is more of a budget hotel. We had only booked it as we were arriving late into Pisa before travelling on to Florence the next day.

Great location, very dated rooms

Hadde litt forventninger til et firestjerners hotellopphold da vi sjelden unner oss dette. Men sammenliknet med både to- og trestjernerssteder vi har overnattet, var dette skuffende. Høflig resepsjonspersonale og god bagasjeoppbevaringsservice, men slitent og mørkt rom, ikke spesielt stort, med flekker på vegger og gardiner. AC fungerte greit, vann i minibar var gratis, fast og god seng. Trang dusj med dører som var nesten umulig å lukke, håndklestanga falt ned, dårlig utvalg av hygieneprodukter, ingen søppelsortering noe sted. OK frokostbuffet med varm og kald mat, kaker og fancy juiceservering. Hotellet selger seg på utsikten, men mye av takterrassen er overbygd, og når skybaren er åpen, er utsikten bare for middagsgjester eller de som bestiller aperitif.

Room without ac ( too hot for us ) , otherwise is a pretty good place with excellent location

Ok hotel, but not 4 star standard, old and outdated. Terreble wather pressure in the shower. Tiles on the bathroom was broken, and all furneture should be replaced. Maybe a great hotel 20 years ago. Really good location, with view over the pisa tower.

Very close to the tower so that is convenient. Street outside is a Main Street so is noisy in the night. They let us check in early and were friendly which was a bonus. Room was clean and beds were comfy. Breakfast was decent enough so can’t complain.

The bedroom and bathroom were very large in comparison to other hotels in my time in Italy. It was in good condition and comfortable. The view from the window was of the local street and the tower of Pisa. We tried to get dinner at the rooftop restaurant upon check in at 9:30 pm, as the staff at the desk said the kitchen was open until 10pm, but upon arriving at the restaurant, the staff said the kitchen was closed and we would only be served drinks. Luckily there were several restaurants on the street happy to serve food. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. The buffet had a wide variety to choose from. The desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very dated and certainly not a 4 star hotel. The room was clean and staff were friendly enough. However, in our room the tv only showed one tv channel that was selling chairs, there was no iron we had to ask for one and the decor is very old and worn. The room didn’t even have a kettle etc. It’s a hotel badly needing a lick of paint and modernised. Location wise it is a short walk from Pisa San Rossore train station and a few minutes from the leaning tower which is great. Overall it is very basic, not 4 star and badly needing a revamp.

I was extremely disappointed that the WiFi would not work unless I was in the lobby. I multiple times asked for assistance and each time was told they would “reboot” the system. I very much felt this happens to all of their guest and they are aware of this. It was important that I had WiFi and specifically chose this hotel because it stated it had WiFi.

Wifi was terrible! Couldn’t stay logged in. Couldn’t watch video or load Facebook at all. Room was ancient, blow dryer from 1950-1960. Bed was hard as a rock. Noise from street below was an issue but they do provide you with earplugs. View from upper terrace was nice. Food at restaurant was good but service was terrible. Took an hour to get drinks and another hour to get food. Very disappointing, we almost left. Front desk staff were nice, breakfast was okay. Location was fantastic but I Would not recommend this hotel.

Was not impressed to discover that the random door in our room was actually a door to the next room. Thankfully it was locked but them returning back late and showering, chatting, playing music was not ideal - could literally hear them on the toilet! The door had a big gap under it so the light from their room shone through. Could also hear everything from the corridor and room above. Room facilities were basic - no kettle etc, not all bedside lamps worked. The hotel itself had the feel of once being grand but now being rundown and in need of TLC. Car park was impossible to get to with all the ZTL nearby so ended up parking on the street 5 minutes away.

All the staff at this hotel are fantastic. The service at the reception desk and at the upstairs bar/restaurant was exceptional. Their caring, helpful manner totally made our stay and a standout experience from our Italy trip! Thank you

The room was great and the location could not have been better! My friend and I ran the Pisa Marathon, and the start/finish line was so close to the hotel. The breakfast was delicious each morning! But most of all, the staff could not have been more helpful, from letting my friend borrow a charger to giving us directions back to the train station, they were always so pleasant and patient with our every need! I highly recommend the Grand Hotel Duomo to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay in Pisa!

The staff were first class and so helpful with regards to parking and recommendations. We will definitely be back for the service alone

Reception staff were amazing. Helpful, friendly and very professional. Room was basic but what you would expect at this price point. The rooftop bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and friendly service, not to mention fantastic views. Hotel itself is situated a couple of minutes walk from the leaning tower and is surrounded by shops and restaurants. Very glad we chose to stay here.

Great hotel right next to the tower etc. Concierge very helpful and booked the shuttle to the airport for us. Room was in need of updating but very clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and rooftop bar outstanding. Loads of places to eat nearby and a handy a supermarket. Recommend Bar & Food 62 - fantastic steak.

The hotel staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. Our first room had not been cleaned properly, particularly the floor and bathroom. The reception handled this very well, came to check and take photos, apologised and moved us to a new room which was clean. The restaurant is very good with stunning views to the tower.

Excellent location for main monuments,, dining eating options, safe for a woman alone. Very well run hotel!

We waited approximately 45 minutes to get a drink at the bar for a nightcap, there was one bar man who was tending a function in the big room which was obviously the priority over hotel guests. The bar man basically ignored us and the 2 reception staff were unhelpful. We eventually left the hotel and went back out for a nightcap!

A great place to access the best tourist spots in Pisa as it is so close. Can be somewhat noisy in the evenings and nights because the windows do not shut out the noise on the busy tourist street below. The quality of the wifi is disappointingly poor.

It was super close to the tower of Pisa and the walking sites. Hotel is fine as we stayed for one night. Very close to the train station and we found it convenient. The staff at check in was perfect and we got our room when we arrived in the morning. We’d recommend it.

Perfect location a couple of minutes walk to Tower of Pisa/ square of miracles. Loved the hotels roof top terrace to watch sunset over Tower and square. Lovely breakfast (fresh warm pastries!) and comfortable room. Check in and out was straight forwards, polite staff. We managed to walk to the airport in about 40 mins. Pisa Centrale station was also easily accessible by walking. Thank you!

Terrific location just a couple minutes from the tower. Very walkable street and safe environment with lots of shops and several cafes to choose from and a convenience store across the street. In the room, the street noise was loud but the ear plugs provided by the hotel helped.

We loved the location of the hotel and the breakfast options. Gluten free options were available every day on request. Would’ve liked a kettle in the room as I do love a coffee when I first wake up. There are many restaurants and a supermarket so close to the hotel that we were never short of options. We couldn’t figure out the air conditioning so slept with the window open the first night - we were eaten alive by sand flies/mosquitos so it remained shut for the rest of our stay. The first 2 nights were incredibly noisy due to other guests shouting and screaming. However the following 2 nights were quiet and calm. The staff were helpful and friendly. We arrived earlier than check-in but were able to leave our luggage there so we could mooch around Pisa. Amazing view from the rooftop bar. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting Pisa.

The hotel is very tired. Doesn’t appear to have seen any investment for years. Our room overlooked the road that runs in front of the hotel. It was very loud despite not being in use. You could clearly hear passers by talking when the windows were closed. The WiFi did not work. The roof terrace is open May to November, which was a shame. All of that said, the location is perfect and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Great welcome and check in. Room was clean but could use an update as the bathroom was quite tired. We got a free upgrade so had a great view from our room. The rooftop bar was stunning however the outside tables of the restaurant were not offered despite us asking for one and willing to eat. Several remained empty throughout our drink stay which was a shame. However the views from there were exceptional making up for the substandard cocktails.

Good size room and bathroom. Room a little tired and the air con had a couple of mishaps. Room on the side of building so was cooler and fabulous shutters, bed was firm (which we liked). Reception service efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good and plentiful Amazing views from rooftop. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was an experience, service was awful and dinner cold and it took a few attempts for the kitchen to get it right. Waiters were a bit off and rude, but 30 euros was deducted from bill, when the food did come as ordered it was very good. Recommend this hotel for it's fab location and breakfast.

The hotel is very central which is fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice albeit limited in choice. But fresh and tasty. The hotel is old and could do with updating. However, the price was good, location was perfect, it was lovely and clean and the bed was comfy. I would recommend and would happily stay again. Thank you.

Cet hôtel, les chambres sont. À rénover seule, la literie est parfaite dans la chambre Le petit déjeuner très très décevant : pain, pas terrible, viennoiseries, pas terribles, jus d’orange à éviter , même pas une orange pressée si vous en souhaitez une, elle comptée en supplément : de qui se moque ton pour un hôtel 4 étoiles ??? Même le café se fait à la machine !!! Loin du cliché italien d’un délicieux café …. Heureusement que sur demande et sans supplément on peut vous faire un vrai café ou cappuccino ce qui vient un peu sauver le pdj

Restaurant service was terrible. Too few staff. Waited 25 minutes to get a drink and even then spouse had to go to the bar to ask for one. And it went down hill after that. Walked out eventually. Hôtel manager said private function took staff away from restaurant. He competed the bill of what with had so cost there. The hotel manager was very very good. We would stay there again but not go to hotel’s restaurant.
