This is a wonderful property with beautiful rooms, each with a large terrace and stunning views of Rome! Amenities and staff were amazing, and the outdoor pool was large, deep and warm. Unfortunately we were there at the same time as a couple large cruise conferences, so weren't able to access the rooftop terrace as they had privately booked it. Also made for a chaotic exit with buses coming and going and hotel airport transfer for 5 people not available. We ended up ordering our own Uber after waiting 45mins unsuccessfully on hotel transportation. Overall a beautiful property and we would definitely stay here again.

Such a great way to see Rome and come back to the amazing pool. Nice gym and room was super comfortable and done in a tasteful, old world manner. Only negative is that the lobby decor is not commensurate with the price and caliber of the hotel. They should really give the lobby a facelift as it takes away from the hotel.

The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. The pool area is large and the drinks are great. The overall service of everyone in the hotel was polite and attentive. The rooms are large and very nice. They also have a spa pool, sauna and steam room that are complimentary. The massage that I received was also very good and for a great price. I will definitely stay here next time I visit Rome.

On the flight home. Never really leave reviews the hotel itself is beautiful. Be prepared to pay for the taxis if you are not going to use the shuttle, the shuttle service is nice but very very far from some of the sites in the city. Also the hotel claims to be affiliated with the Marco Simone golf course yet the golf course is over a 1/2 hour away with no transportation. I ended paying over 150Euros just to get back and forth to the hotel, with no assistance. There is a gift shop which is never open. When we come back in the future will definitely stay closer to that city, it was an expensive just to get anywhere. There also were no irons available in the hotel, so we walked around wrinkles all week. Staff was nice for the most part, the room had a slight smell just because of the constant moisture especially the pillows. Stayed in much better Waldorfs previously, will definitely stay elsewhere if we come back to Rome.

Please look at your room location before accepting it. We stayed 2 times in Sept. despite many rooms available, we were placed in a construction zone due to extensive plumbing problems . Drilling, hammering, yellling 7-3 pm. For 3 days. No wonder the bathroom always smelled of urine. No heat in room. Took 15 minutes to get hot water. Last day there, indoor spa/pool drained. Cigarette burns in nightstand and couch armrest unraveling. Paid 700/night and got a view of a massive radio tower, on the other side was beautiful Rome. Why were we treated so badly? Manager comped us 1 night but I left out other bad things. Altogether disappointing, but I wanted so much to love it, it’s mostly beautiful place, but, I’ll look elsewhere for future Rome travels

The grounds were very beautiful and the pool area was exceptional. Unfortunately, our room was a little Antiquated. The fixtures within the room were cracked. We had a marble table that was being held together by epoxy. Our other room that we were forced to rent because they said we were not allowed to adults with two small children in a room was Dated at Best. Do not get the view of the antenna side, which is what we were given for two rooms. Be sure to get the view of Rome and the poolside. I would not recommend taking a room with the antenna side as it is audacious. We found the staff exceptional kind, and did everything possible to make sure we were happy, I do not believe this hotel deserves a five star rating as it needs to be upgraded immediately. I generally don’t write these reviews, but when I do, I want to be as honest as possible. We were told it was a fire code and you were not allowed to have four people in a room so as I said, we rented a second room, but no effort was made to ask us again about having a better room or giving us an option to have one large room that family could all be together. We ended up sleeping separately in two separate rooms, One parent in each room with a child. I am not sure if I would come back to stay at this hotel. I left with a bad taste in my mouth, They’re going to have to do better.

My balcony view was of a large antenna, which was a bit disappointing. Our Colosseum tickets were canceled without notice, and since it was a very busy weekend, the hotel couldn’t find replacements. We stayed in Rome for three nights as part of a Euro tour and were really looking forward to dining at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. However, we didn’t realize that reservations need to be made weeks in advance—and that staying at the hotel doesn’t guarantee access—so we unfortunately didn’t get to eat there. That was another disappointment. Additionally, transportation can be quite expensive since the hotel is located far from the city center.

I’m not giving 5 star on the Overall Rating only because there’s no Nespresso coffee maker in the room, they only reserve that feature for the upper floor room, which is totally ridiculous. You have all kind of drinks for alcoholics and not a coffee, and you are in Rome! I’ve stayed in 10 different hotels in Italy in the last 5 months, all booked with Expedia and this was the only one without the Nespresso!

Great hotel but surprisingly, especially being in Italy, they do not provide coffee maker and wine opener. They only provide coffee maker at upper level (Imperial floors) rooms which it does not make sense since even 4 star hotels always provide coffee makers.

Atendimento péssimo, Não fazem questão alguma de ser gentis com o hospede. Desde o checkin a moça que atendeu foi altamente antipatica. Cobram 300 euros de caução na entrada, consumi no hotel 2 dias mais do que isso, e eles me pediram para ir na recepção pagar a diferença, isso faltando 2 dias para ir embora ainda! Nunca vi isso na minha vida, se eles tem medo que o cliente nao pague, pegue logo uma garantia maior de 2mil euros o que seja! Mas é constrangedor ser cobrado antes do checkout. Um absurdo na realidade. As pessoas do restaurante não tratam bem quem é hospede, parece que preferem os que não são hospedes. O hotel é espetacular, mas o atendimento é péssimo em todas as areas, recepcao, restaurante e spa.

Check in took a little longer than normal. The room was nice, the service around the property was great. Was never told about the indoor pool and lounge not being included in our stay. The cost was an addditional $50euro pp. This was extra. We opted not to purchase and we were happy we opted out. We had a beautiful breakfast in town and the outdoor pool was much nicer because of the weather. Be careful if you are staying in the colder months as this may be an easy way to be roped into more costs. Drinks and food are very expensive for a Hilton hotel brand. $35 a drink (19-23 euro) fried calamari $45 a plate were (32euro). Very expensive. The pizza was awful and also very expensive. We had a great stay but buyer beware. We ate dinner at la pergola it was $790 euro for two people. A day at the pool was expensive but as long as you are aware of the hidden costs than it’s not bad. The hotel property is beautiful and the room and view were great.

The property is dated and old. It definitely needs an upgrade and renovation. We were disappointed in the service overall. It was very overpriced for the quality, and there was a lack of detail. Not 5-star hotel service by any means. We spent almost 1k on dinner at La Pergola (which was amazing) and then came back to a messy room that never got a turn-down service after I called to request it. So disappointing. The hotel restaurant was awful, and our fish was so overcooked it was inedible. They couldn't even comp the dish for us or at least comp a round of drinks. Terrible service. The server dropped water all over the table, and the busser dropped our silverware twice. No one came to check on us, and I had to flag someone down to tell them about the overcooked fish. We also found hairs in the poached eggs we ordered for breakfast the next day. The bathrooms were out of toilet paper and dirty. I asked ahead of time for a continental breakfast for the early morning of our flight home, and I was told, "We don't do that" by the front desk, even though we paid for the breakfast package. We called ahead of time by 25 minutes to have the valet bring our car to the front to make our 9 AM flight, and when we came downstairs, our car wasn't there! We had to wait an additional 15 minutes, making us late. I used to work for the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, and I was so excited to stay at the Cavalieri in Rome. I was so very disappointed, mostly by the lack of hospitality.

The Imperial Room was an amazing perk! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and met our every need. Paola at the front desk was exceptional in giving us restaurant suggestions and helping us extend our stay. Marco and Emmanuel at the valet stand always got us to the appropriate cab on time and offered umbrellas so we didn’t get wet. We can’t say enough good things about our stay at the Waldorf Astoria And we will be back!

The worst experience with customer service in my life. I think a hostel wouldn't treat its guests the way my wife and I were treated. It transpired that halfway through our stay we have exceeded our pre-authorised deposit for extra charges. So on Saturday night we get a time stamped letter at 10.30pm to immediately speak to management and then we got a follow up letter at 5.30 in the morning!! We didn't notice the first letter since we came back to the room late at 2 in the morning. Our TV started flashing that we urgently need to speak to management. I spoke to management and told them I am checking out the following evening and will pay all outstanding bill then. They then accosted my wife at breakfast to pay immediately - even though they had our passports and credit card information. When I calmly complained about the aggressive nature of enforcing this, the manager snapped at me sarcastically and mockingly that we should not come back to the hotel if we have a problem with the way they run their finances. Moreover, the crowd is very rowdy and unpleasant in the hotel and the rooms and facilities are extremely dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Would never stay again.

First the cons: having to take a shuttle or 20 min taxi to Rome center. The decor was in vast need of an update. The furniture in our room was so dated - couldn’t tell if it was the style or 30 years old and I didn’t even want to sit on the upholstery. A charge of 10€ per person to use the pool and spa. Pros: a quiet respite from the busy tour days. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was nice and the beds were comfortable.

Clean, good for family inside the property. Nice looking hotel. Reason for 3 stars is the location. Very dark around the property. All the limited sidewalks are overgrown around the property. To walk to restaurants it’s 25 minutes along roads that are not walkable. You have to take very long stairs in the middle of the woods that are pitch black. It did not feel very safe. Even though the hotel was nice I probably would not stay here again.

The Waldorf Astoria Cavalier is a well done, well appointed and a unique property. It has great 1960's Roman style: Like out of a Fellini movie. Every detail and finish has been considered and is top quality. It is like walking back in time. The staff and service is top tier as well. It is a 15 minute cab ride to the town center. Though, it is nice to stay a little out of the city. And, a van goes to and from the hotel to town on a regular schedule. I highly recommend this property.

Loved that we were out of the central city. Shuttle convenient to the city. Hotel was beautiful even though we didn't use the amenities they were great. Reception desk was very knowledgeable. Minor complaint we asked about water as it was not there and then the second night two bottles were there after we brought our own. We ate on the patio and the dining area by the pool as well as breakfast. Can say we felt like we were at a resort.

This was a beautiful property on top of a hill in a quite neighborhood that offered minimal dining & shopping all within a 5-10 minute walk from the complex. The staff was very attentive and wonderful. Housekeeping was so great. Super caring and attentive to details like needing more towels. Disappointed in the restuarant located in the basement. Expensive and not worth it. We chose this hotel for the upper rooftop view and the other Michelin restuarant on the property. Both were closed due to renovations. Still a beautiful experience. The spa was great. They offer Turkish baths. Hot tub was always cold, a bummer. Still a good value to stay at this property.

We stayed in Rome for three nights as part of a Euro tour and were really looking forward to dining at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant. However, we didn’t realize that reservations need to be made weeks in advance—and that staying at the hotel doesn’t guarantee access—so we unfortunately didn’t get to eat there. That was another disappointment. Additionally, transportation can be quite expensive since the hotel is located far from the city center.

The nightly rate was expensive for what was provided in return. Beautiful property however you should never have to pay that much money for a Coke or a bowl of pasta or a cup of tea. I will not stay here in the future at this property or any of the Waldorf Astoria hotels. I was excited to go there and was deeply disappointed. There is a spa there that I thought would be included, but you have to book a spa treatment in order to enjoy the spa facilities. Another huge disappointment. I also wanted to stay at this hotel because the Michelin star restaurant. Once I had checked in, I discovered it had been booked up for three months. I feel they should reserve additional space for guests.

Check in took a little longer than normal. The room was nice, the service around the property was great. Was never told about the indoor pool and lounge not being included in our stay. The cost was an addditional $50euro pp. This was extra. We opted not to purchase and we were happy we opted out. We had a beautiful breakfast in town and the outdoor pool was much nicer because of the weather. Be careful if you are staying in the colder months as this may be an easy way to be roped into more costs. Drinks and food are very expensive for a Hilton hotel brand. $35 a drink (19-23 euro) fried calamari $45 a plate were (32euro). Very expensive. The pizza was awful and also very expensive. We had a great stay but buyer beware. We ate dinner at la pergola it was $790 euro for two people. A day at the pool was expensive but as long as you are aware of the hidden costs than it’s not bad. The hotel property is beautiful and the room and view were great.

excellent bar tenders at the hotel bar. there was a singer and pianist playing music and signing. they started signing salsa for us because we’re cuban and many people started dancing. it was so much fun. the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast from in room dining was delicious

Loved that we were out of the central city. Shuttle convenient to the city. Hotel was beautiful even though we didn't use the amenities they were great. Reception desk was very knowledgeable. Minor complaint we asked about water as it was not there and then the second night two bottles were there after we brought our own. We ate on the patio and the dining area by the pool as well as breakfast. Can say we felt like we were at a resort.

Beautiful grounds plus a very well appointed hotel. The breakfast buffet has everything. And the restaurants are great.
