The HoJo by Disney Land is an excellent place to stay for families. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. The pool is a great place to relax, too. I appreciated that they staff the pool area with several lifeguards who maintain safety for kids. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in building 5 and they didn’t have an elevator. I would have preferred to stay in the building that has an elevator. Since we have a baby and the stroller makes it easier when coming back from the park.

Good, comfortable room. Not easy to find out they have $25 per night parking. Also the in-room refrigerator does not have a freezer. Had to use my cooler i brought as my freezer. At least the ice machine is free.

I like everything, very convenient, near to Disney. I love that after walking whole day at park we can enjoy the jacuzzi at the water park on the hotel, very relaxing. They closed the water park at 10:00pm.

Friendly staff, quick and easy check-in/check-out. Clean and new room. Very quiet and soundproofed despite being near the highway. The only downside was we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes to get into the water park. Other than that, we had a great stay.

Built in 1965 – no wonder we got bed bugs staying here. The carpets are filthy, especially in the hallways. They might be original, like so much of the décor. My daughter and I stayed here for a Disney trip from August 9-11th. I noticed a couple bites on us, but I thought they might be mosquito bites and didn’t think much of it. It wasn’t until a week after we got home that we were both covered in bites. No one else in our home had any bites, just us two. The doctor told us they were bed bugs, and then the real hassle began. Do you feel like washing every fabric item in your house? Do you feel like replacing your mattresses? Do you feel like vacuuming twice a day and spending hundreds on poisons to coat your house and skin? Then maybe you’ll enjoy the Howard Johnson Anaheim.

My room smelled like urine and cigarettes, there was a dead roach on the floor of the bathroom, the tub and toilet was dirty. Everything was outdated and stained. I honestly want a refund, I tried to get one just a couple of minutes after check in due to the circumstances but they didn’t want to give me one.

Super close to Disneyland! The walk wasn’t bad at all! Overall the hotel stay was great. Chose to stay in one of the smaller older buildings and while clean it did have a mix of musty air conditioning smell and chemically smell in the hallway. Also the smaller cheaper two story buildings don’t have elevators and we had to walk to a different small building for ice. The water park was great for kids though and the pool/water park hours were excellent! I would stay again, but in the newer building. Overall good choice for the money!

Stayed in bldg 6. Building and room were hot. Strong smell of some kind of cleaner in building. Skylights cause brightness in room during day and add to heat. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom extremely dated, water pressure poor and tub faucet was difficult to maneuver. Really wanted to love our stay… last time we stayed we were in the larger building. Didn’t have the problems in that room. The bed comfort was really the only saving grace….

There was only 1 working elevator in our building. Made it extremely difficult to get to and from our room. We had small children and a double stroller so stairs were not an option, especially not for the price. We waited 10-20 minutes each time. The one working elevator was very small so it had limited capacity. Would be a fine option for older kids. WiFi was an issue as well, and parking is not included in the room cost. It is really close to the parks which was nice.

The room was definitely not soundproof like the listing said, we could hear the highway cars and people woke us up in the mornings talking in the hallway. Close enough to walk to Disneyland and food places. Lots of towels which was good.

We stayed on the 7th floor facing Disneyland. We could see the fireworks at night. It also faced the swim area. I believe there was a busy highway on the other side so I'm glad we were on the side we were on. It was difficult to find a parking spot at times. The rooms were clean and the hotel was able to accommodate our request for adjoining rooms, which was wonderful.

Convenient walk to Disneyland, nice grounds, rooms were quiet which was nice. Downside was that the older buildings (2 story buildings) doesn't have elevators and if youre on the 2nd floor, its super bright in the room as there are huge windows that do not have curtains. Not able to sleep in or take a mid-day nap. Also, it was hard for my baby to sleep because of this.

Room was well furnished, really liked the bunk beds for my kids. Bed was very comfortable. Very convenient for Disney land, plenty of food a short walk away. The only issue we had was with housekeeping, a few small pieces of trash in room which I wouldn’t even bring up if they weren’t so rude to us day of checkout. We were a little late leaving room and within 15 minutes of checkout they came to our door twice, first one wasn’t very friendly and second was very rude. We also had a call from front desk, which was fine, I don’t mind that they were checking and they were very friendly and understanding, but housekeeping needs to leave that to front desk. This was in the middle of the week and not peak travel time. Hotel was kind enough to not charge us for late checkout.

We arrived early in hopes of securing an early check-in, understanding there was a possibility it might not be available. We were traveling with friends who are Platinum members, who are entitled to early check-in at 1:00 PM. While waiting, we spent time at the water park and went to eat. Each time we returned, we noticed other guests requesting and receiving early check-in at the front desk. Despite this, we were informed that neither our family nor our Platinum member friends would be accommodated for early check-in. Eventually, at 4:00 PM, we received our room keys. Our family reservation was for a room that would accommodate five people. However, the room assigned to us was extremely small, located in an outdated building, and reduced in size due to its placement by the stairs—approximately 15 feet smaller than comparable rooms. Instead of appropriate bedding for five, the room only had two double beds. The cleanliness was also unacceptable: the floors were dirty, there was feces on the bathroom floor upon arrival, and one morning we encountered a large spider. The positive aspects of our stay were that the beds were tolerable, the location was conveniently close to Disney, and our children enjoyed the water park. However, the negative aspects far outweighed these: the property was poorly maintained, our room was undersized and inadequate for our family, and the bathroom was both small and unsanitary with no counter space.

If I could give this hotel a zero star review I would but if I had to count one star towards something it would be the lifeguard on duty who was vigilant of the children in the pool. I checked the reviews before booking and none reflected the experience I had. A day or two before arriving I received a link to check in where I had to include photos of my license and my credit card information. I completed this step. It stated I then had to ask for a room key at arrival. I arrived at the “detoured” door and looked to Joel behind the front desk for immediate assistance as my Lyft driver was being really inappropriate around myself and my eight year old child. Joel ignored my remarks and I called a relative on speaker until the Lyft driver walked back to his car and I was able to make it to the open reservation door. Once there Joel had a very nasty and unwelcoming attitude where he asked if I had checked in already. I stated I checked in online previously and I’m here to pick up my room key. Joel said “that has nothing to do with us” and asked for my same ID and credit card. He never explained the $50 hold to me as I had already paid in full on Expedia. I had the money so that was neither here nor there. I remember making a joke to lighten the mood “imagine if I didn’t have my ID” and he replied with a serious tone of disgust “you wouldn’t be staying here”. If I had an ounce of energy and it wasn’t 12 am I would have canceled my reservation right there and then!

Friendly and professional staffs. Easy breezy check in. Pools were great for adult and kids to enjoy. Room is nice and big for our 3 nights stay. No restaurants on site but plenty of options near and around, within walkable minutes. Big + being so close proximity to Disneyland parks and onsite with parking ($25 a day) with in/out privileges.

The hotel location was excellent, a 5-10min walk to the Disney Parks. This was really beneficial with little kids who may need a break/nap from the park in the middle of the day. The location is prime and that’s really what you’re paying for. There is a McDonalds and a Mimi’s Cafe close by. There is also a small mini mart on the first floor of the hotel which was helpful. There is water playground in the hotel as well but we didnt get to use it as we were in the Disney parks mostly all day. The rooms, however, are very small and extremely outdated. The pillows and bed was comfortable. A few family members on the trip with us said their room smelled musty. Ours was okay. We would probably look for another hotel elsewhere next time (there a few options on the Disney strip that are also walking distance) but if absolutely necessary, we could stay here again.

Staying at Howard Johnson is great. From customer service lobby. You will greet by amazing crew especially named Rachel l, very friendly and great customer experience. Room is great with Disney vibes! The only thing maybe is the adult pool need a little bit clean. And maybe add an own dining experience area. Overall everything is good!

We had a great stay. The walking distance to Disney is only 6-8 minutes but it was betind convenient to be that close, we could take a break mid day. Garden pool was warm. Rooms typical, very clean. Amazing view of Disneyland in building 1 and maybe the one by the pool? Staff nice. They don’t have an in house cafe which would be nice but a cute place next door… ihop, dennys and McDonald’s in walking distance!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. We primarily picked this property because of the water slide park for kids and the short walk to Disneyland. I know that this is an older hotel. However, did not like that, there was no room service available. It would have been nice to have breakfast or a lunch, or even a light dinner at the hotel. It was definitely a short walk to some food spots which was good for our family.

We stayed here for 1 night and it was a good experience. The rooms were clean, kids loved the water park, there is a small store on site with cereal, yogurt, milk, and other packaged snacks if needed. Our room was at the back near the freeway but the rooms are sound proofed - literally could not hear the freeway at all which was a pleasant surprise. Also it’s about an 8 minute walk to Disneyland. The surrounding area was clean and safe. McDonald’s is along the walk if you’re going early to Disneyland!

We stay at this property once a year on our annual trip to Disneyland. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Room is wonderful ( building 2). We like that it is walkable to Disney and there are restaurants along the way. It is starting to get a wee bit expensive so we will be trying a new place next year. When you book be aware of the extra fees charged for cancellation protection.

While the splash pad was a great feature for the kids, the rest of our stay fell short. The rooms are noticeably dated and in need of a refresh. More frustrating, however, was the service (or lack thereof). When we approached the front desk about issues with our room that severely impacted us, we were met with attitude that was dismissive and unhelpful. Basic maintenance and hospitable customer service shouldn't be too much to ask. Stay elsewhere..

We had a fun stay here with the kids! The bunk bed room we stayed in was a little small but the kids had a blast! We enjoyed the water playground and the beds were comfortable. Will stay here again in the future.
