Loved this hotel! It transported you to a jungle paradise while staying there. The rooms were a good size with everything you needed. The pool was small but fun and although we didn’t use it the bay access is nice if you wanna sit in the sand! Super easy to walk around PB and mission beach. Lots of good places to eat and drink and of course the beach is right there! The staff was very friendly and helpful! I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay in PB!!

Everything was wonderful. Loved the hotel, location, restaurant! We will be back for sure! (Hopefully though the 2nd elevator gets fixed! It was a long wait , and being on the 9th floor it was a few too many levels to use stairs).

No hot water, turn the fuaset all the way to the hot direction and just warm water . Drainage was bad.water in the bathroom faucet and shower would not drain properly. During the one of the busiest time in the years ,elevator was out of service.and I am on the 10th floor.

Updated property, very clean and beautiful. Staff were kind, accommodating and professional. Perfect location, close to food and activities. Enjoyed the hotel’s on-site activities as well. Hotel’s restaurants had excellent food. Overall we were very impressed with the property and look forward to returning!

Right on Mission Bay so you can sit in the hotel's beach chairs and enjoy the view. Nice size pool and hot tub. Game room is by the pool and all of the games are free!!! Beautiful lobby with waterfalls. Grounds are well kept with beautiful landscaping. There is a pathway system connecting the various buildings and along the way, you'll see waterways with fish and turtles and exotic birds. Lots of activities each day for the kids (all included in the price). Be aware that the daily hotel/room price does NOT include parking. That is an extra cost. However, in addition to being located on Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean is on the other side of the street. Excellent location in that it is right on the Bay and across the street from the beach (Pacific Ocean), but also near Sea World, the Zoo, Balboa Park, Sunset Cliffs, Coronado, etc.

GREAT location and lots of options! Stayed for 5 nights with my daughters, aged 12 - 20 and this was perfect for all of us. The bay is great for lying on the sand and paddleboarding was a blast. The pool is relaxing and service is good. Extremely short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. We walked to the beach for sunset everynight.

No matter what you pay for the room, expect an extra $100 per day with resort fees/parking, tax. Having said that, I would absolutely stay here again. The staff is very friendly and helpful - which is a sign that they are treated well by management! Which is HUGE in my book. The rooms were fine, the location excellent, the grounds beautiful. I can't wait to go back! Especially to see "Arlow" - the resort cat!!

This property is amazing because it is on the beach and kids can play in the bay all day. Our problem was our room. The room definitely could use some updating but they are pretty big for a hotel room. Our bathroom toliet had poop stuck in the hinges and up u der the lid! It was absolutely disgusting. Our bathroom also smelled of urine so badly. It was like someone peed all over and it was never cleaned, which is probably exactly what happened. There was also black hair on the towels that is just gross. I honestly dont know if I would stay again considering how expensive it is and the disgusting room.

Everything was great, with the exception of the musty smell in the room. The smell never went away because each and every time you enter the room the musty smell is unmistakably pronounced. However, you’ll get “nose blind” to the smell the longer you are in the room. We were upgraded to the room we were in which looks recently renovated. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself and the grounds looked clean and well maintained.

The property needs updating, paint peeling, furniture is out dated. The location is awesome, right on the bay and a block from the beach and eateries. The staff were friendly, overall. Housekeeping was very inconsistent, had to call for items missed every day and didn’t get service on some days during our stay.

We got bitten by spiders! The sheets were dirty I was itching all night, food leftover under the bed!! Come on that was nasty. The shower water wasn’t hot not even warm! Didn’t like the place.

This hotel is located right on the bay and the exterior of the property is beautiful. Unfortunately, the check-in process was less than acceptable. We arrived early, room was ot ready. The front desk told us they would call us by check-in time 4pm. That call never came through and we didn't end up getting into our room until 4:15pm. No explanation given. The room was outdated, but the worst part was how dirty everything was. Stains on the walls, sticky light switches, etc. While the location is great, I doubt I'll ever stay there again.

Everything was great except we didn’t get our room cleaned the first day and we were out of body wash the whole trip. Parking seemed a bit high especially since you had a resort fee as well. Pool is small with not enough seating. Restaurant staff were all friendly and food was good. Loved being able to walk to the beach.

Positive: location on the bay was very nice. Walkable and lots of amenities nearby. Lobby and outdoor areas were also very nice. Negative: Did not get the room we reserved. Room was not properly refreshed for our second night, not really cleaned or tidied, no additional coffee etc. Hallway carpet was in bad need of cleaning.

old windows (which were one complete wall of my room) did not stop drafts or noise. And they wheeled laundry carts on the cobblestones below until 11 pm and began again at 6 am. It was awful.

Great location on Mission Bay. Enjoyed bike rentals and paddleboard rentals in front of the hotel. Tower rooms were very old, curtains were ripped, sliding doors very loud from other units. Adequate lodging, but felt old and musty.

Hotel accommodated an early check in which was really nice. Hotel has a nice location, 1 block off of beach and right on mission bay. Room was in the tower and does show its age. Room had small kitchenette which was unexpected. Beds were comfortable and hotel was mostly quiet.

The stay was good, the hotel was nice, but for the price it seemed kind of outdated for a “resort” style hotel. The room layout needs to be looked into. We booked a room with two queens and the second bed was very close to the balcony door and A/C making it a little hard to get between even for our child. You can hear people in the hallway if they’re talking. You can hear the room above and below you, especially if they’re opening their balcony door. You can hear traffic/sirens outside. I’ve stayed in hotels near airports and you don’t hear a thing.

We absolutely loved our bay view room!!! We wish our room had a small couch. It would have made it more inviting rather than another desk chair. My room was spacious enough for one. For a deluxe room we didn’t have a microwave. Our fourth day we didn’t have any hot water.

The view from the Tower (Bay View) was incredible. The room was clean and we loved sitting out on the balcony, set with a bistro sized table and two chairs. The view is a big plus. That being said, the room and tower in general need some updating. The decor is kinda 90’s tropical. Outdated. I didn’t like the bathroom set up. It’s one of those with a toilet, shower and a pedestal sink, and no room for all of your toiletries that you need. There’s a vanity outside the bathroom that is in a semi-private area, with a counter where you would put all of your toiletries. It would be fine if traveling with a significant other or alone, but being with my kids, it was a struggle to have privacy having to grab things from the vanity area and going back & forth without being seen lol. Just an inconvenience. The sofa in the room could use some updating due to wear and tear. I think the poolside view rooms and the bay front rooms in the bungalow looking buildings are more modern and updated. It’s a trade off situation because the tower rooms have an excellent view and is quieter because you’re higher up. I was pleasantly surprised though that our room had a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge and an air fryer/oven. What I loved about this resort is the grounds. So beautiful and lush. Love the koi pond that runs around the property. It really feels like you’re in a tropical paradise. We loved the onsite free arcade! There’s a $300 deposit they will have to hold until after c/o.

I really enjoyed my stay at Catamaran, I will definitely return. The location is perfect, quiet, walkable and the staff was friendly. The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars was because one night I called 3 times to see if they could bring me a corkscrew (I bought a bottle of wine, I forgot the corkscrew…) and they kept saying “yes, we’ll be right there” and they never came. I spent the night waiting for them. If they just said “no we don’t have any” I could have just gone out and bought one.

We originally booked a resort view but as it was our 15th Anniversary they upgraded us to the tower overlooking the parking garage with a semi view of both the ocean and bay. I was skeptical after reading some reviews but we had our 3 daughters with us and the kitchenette came in handy. The rooms are outdated but clean and the bed seemed new / comfortable. We stayed July 3rd thru the 7th. Wasn't anything to do with the hotel but we heard illegal fireworks all night/every night, along with police sirens. One of the tower elevators was also out of order so we either had to wait in line for the one working elevator or depending on what we were carrying, take the stairs 8 stories up/down. The restaurant on site was expensive but there are other options within walking distance. Being right on the bay is why we chose this resort and it did not disappoint. Felt comfortable letting the kids swim and paddleboard. Overall, we all agreed that we'd stay there again if we are in the area.

This was a family and dog friendly property. Walking distance to beach and food beverage places. Lot of activities to participate in. On the evening of check in we decided to have dinner at Oceana. After we were seated we waited for 30 min to have a server take our order. They were not that busy and all the wait staff avoided eye contact, so it was very clear they didn’t want to serve us. We left and had to door dash. That was a big disappointment for a restaurant that had a great view.

It was okay, but I would not stay here again. Had some issues with my room and asked to change rooms, my key card deactivating more than once and the service in the restaurant was pretty awful. Good location, but with all the $$ you spend on parking, overpriced food and resort fees, it's not worth it. Would find somewhere else next time

When we checked in we were alerted that they overbooked the king room we booked and so we were given another room for the first night and upgraded to a king suite the second night. The first room they put us in had an active water leak and a large area of carpet was soaked. Once we notified them we were promptly moved. The king suite was very nice and very kind of them. The beds in all the rooms we stayed in were not very comfortable. We were charged $600 more than the rate we were given by hotels.com upon check out. Fixing this required a few conversations and a phone call. In the end, I was charged $100 more than the hotels.com rate and didn’t feel like putting more time in to resolve the issue. The location is fantastic and the staff are extremely kind. Overall, it was a good stay but we will not stay again because of the beds and the troubles.

The room description did not match what I was given. When I complained and requested a room change (which was requested within minutes of my arrival) they refused, citing my booking was done through a third part any their website and they were overbooked. After speaking to assistant manager, I was offered a $200 reset credit. The location is beautiful, but the rooms need updating. The restaurant service is slow. If anyone is going to this hotel, specifically request rooms with bay view to ensure you get what you pay for!

We have stayed a few times at the Catameran, I came here alot as a child with my family as well. The rooms could absolutley use an update but this last visit our room was not very clean. In additon to the lack of cleanliness, we were "upgraded" to a room without consent, just told when the keys were handed over to us. We originally booked a resort view room which I was excited for because its a beautiful resort but was given a tower room on the 10th floor. Once we got to the room and was uncomfortable given the height and having a toddler and the lack of cleanleness we immediatly called the front desk to ask for our original room only to be told they are fully booked which means they never had our room we booked in advance avaliable in the first place. My husband went to speak to the manager who was very unprofressinal and rude and when he said we may leave she responded with "Okay." No customer service at all. Very sad as this was a place we have stayed at and loved but the lack of compassion from their staff has contemplating ever staying again!

We felt like the property was located in an area that was close to everything we were doing in San Diego during our time there. The hotel was quite noisy, but sometimes you just get next to someone is louder than others overall it was a great location.

So many good things to say about the catamaran. Our kids loved the property with fish and all the birds, plants and overall ambience. The onsite restaurant was delicious! They accommodated our need for a crib. We will definitely be back!

Great location and fantastic on-site beach area in Mission Bay. Pool wasn't well maintained and understaffed, but when you're across the street from a great beach, why are you at the pool? Restaurants were super pricey, so I recommend walking to one of the several restaurants close by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

The restaurant was closed, they had no hot food at all and didn’t let anyone know prior. Bar only took a card due to not having change. They gave 2 towels for a room fitting 5, we had to constantly ask for towels. I will never stay here again.

This is a beautiful resort in a prime location. Just walking the beautiful grounds was relaxing. Service at the restaurant was slow but the food was excellent. The rooms are somewhat dated but spacious and well maintained.

Restaurants were convenient and delicious, but very expensive (including the Coffee bar). Internet was shotty, but overall the location was spectacular and the daily activities for the kids were a hit.
