Great location. Rooms needs to be updated badly bathroom tub old gringy, cracking. Furniture with fridge beat up. Bed not comfortable very small ocean front room. Fireplace did not ignite. Housekeeping slow would leave for the day come back at 3 or 4 pm no service for a couple of days. The lounge chairs by pool many were torn unusable they still put pool towels on them. Also the hot tub did not work for 2 days until I caught someone to have it checked out. It was heating but no jets working

Pool and hot tub was closed, hotel was dirty and bed/pillows were the most uncomfortable crap in the world, additionally we had a cleaner lady bang at the door at 8 am while we were trying to sleep. Avoid this place at all costs.

I LOVED this hotel so much. I’ve traveled a lot and never stayed at any hotel quite like this one. I was so sad to leave, I wish I could’ve just stayed there forever haha. The room was beautiful, clean, renovated and had a lovely view of the water. There was a park and courtyards between the buildings, dining options, a mini free library, 2 heated pools and every night there was a s’mores bar and hot chocolate from 6-8 and it was so peaceful. Not to mention the best part, it was directly across from the beach. What more could one possibly want?

I grew up in Santa Barbara, so I know where everything is. This hotel has an amazing location where you can walk to downtown or the beaches. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It’s just a little bit outdated. The pool and Jacuzzi were nice. The pool was heated. I would stay here again.

Overall good stay at this property. It’s pet freindly lots of space for our puppy. Location is excellent. Amenities like the pool and the fitness center are great. However some areas like the room and surrounding areas could use some renovation a bit run down.

Wonderful property. We stayed at rooms 152 and 158, and they were excellent. Not sure of other rooms. These were renovated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, they have complementary bikes, beach toys, boggie boards, etc.

Great location and staff was friendly . However, hotel conditions were poor. Bathroom had a lot of mold and missing shower glass caused water to spill over, which is probably contributing to the mold. Also, toilet flooded. Property has a lot of potential but needs to be upgraded.

Amazing! My mom and I had always walked past this spot on previous stays in SB and wanted to stay there just based on the fact they had fire pits! We finally did with a group of friends and it was wonderful! The fire pits were nice and we drank wine outside, listened to live music, and had a wonderfully great stay! The staff were nice and the rooms were clean and quiet.

The outside of the property is beautiful. The pool and hot tub look unwelcoming. The rooms didn’t feel clean. The smell was very stuffy. The shower head was so dirty and nasty looking. Water barely even wanted to come out. Was very sad for such a beautiful building. The people staying there were vary loud. The screaming and yelling was very uncomfortable. Felt unsafe.

Staff was nice and attentive. Rooms need some maintenance and shower was very small. Had to change rooms due to an ant problem and almost changed beforehand due to excessive noise from the parking lot. Heard a garbage truck pass by on 2 different days and walls are very thin. Location is great but wouldn’t stay there again.

This is a good hotel if you are looking to be within walking distance of the beach and things on State street. Our room was fine, but the bathroom and the shower were very small. We had no view of the ocean or anything really. Our room was directly next to the janitorial/storage room, which ended up being extremely noisy in the early morning and throughout the day. Overall, an okay stay if you aren’t going to be using the room much.

Very overpriced for an underwhelming room. Even though they did some cosmetic remodeling, the door was hard to close and every time you had to slam is shut, little pieces of drywall dust would sprinkle down. The steps going up were really steep. Beds and pillows could have been more comfortable. Location was perfect though

I want to start out by saying, the staff was excellent. The hotel, although renovated, had a clogged sink, you could hear the noise of other guests and cleaning staff through the walls, the coffee maker did not work, and we paid extra for an ocean view, but it was more of a glimpse. The front desk and manager agreed it was not a full ocean view and did not charge us for parking.

You can hear every little sound from your room…updtairs, next door, from the pool, etc. wouldn’t stay again too hard to sleep. It’s a great location if you’re not a light sleeper. The bed was average, not good but not bad.

This is an excellent location in Santa Barbara! We just wished the rooms were a bit nicer and less noisy. They should work on the insulation/noise issues and really do need to get new beds and bedding.

Here’s my honest review starting with the positive: The location and close proximity to the beach, the pier, restaurants and shops made the stay worth the stay. The room: we stayed in room166, building 3- the one with the resort’s pool. If you are looking for a quiet, restful vacay, DO NOT stay in that building. People are loud, screaming kids playing in the pull till 10 pm. There a howling dog that drowned on for hours before hotel staff did so me about it. The lighting in the room was so dark, I felt like a vampire. I couldn't open the main window curtains because EVERYONE passing by could clearly see in my room. The shower glass door was missing, making for a very messy shower. The building is dated. I would give this hotel 2.5 stars if I could. The cost was not worth what I paid.

Location is excellent, staff is friendly and the common spaces are nice. But, the rooms are dated. Although the surfaces looked clean, there is old grout with bad corners, some patch-worked walls and the water temp is very delayed in the shower (a couple of ants in the shower). Another family member said their internet was slow (old tech) and the pool pump next to the room was loud. Not a good value for the cost, in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend it.

We were staying there for a wedding for three nights. The first night we did not have hot water, which took maintenance two hours to respond and we missed our dinner. The road noise that night was unbelievably loud, the next day we asked to be moved. They didn’t have anything to move us to. We checked out and they charged us for our one night stay. They did not offer any type of refund or credit.

The front desk clerk cancelled one of our two reservations when I told her the other couple couldn't make it. Unfortunately, she cancelled the wrong one and then couldn't do anything about it. We were forced to find a new place to stay. If they make a mistake, they should make it right. Period.

I cannot share enough about Hotel Milo. The first word that comes to mind is “Staff”. They are phenomenal. Every time I come, they are welcoming, accommodating, kind, and most of all sincere. Nathaniel and Roman greeted us this visit, and what a wonderful experience that was. Thank you Nathanial for providing above and beyond service for myself and fiancé. The rooms are fantastic. The beds beat any other 5 star I’ve stayed in anywhere else. I loved the fireplace and art work. While the bathrooms need some upgrading, it’s a small concern for myself as the toilet and shower function well. The property is just perfect for visiting. A walk to Amtrak station, State St, the Pier, the boardwalk for a bike ride, it’s absolutely my favorite place. Always enjoy Chads for breakfast, the eggs Benedict offered in many styles and excellent Bloody Mary’s w all the fixings. The hot tub/pool area has Cabanas, which we were able to enjoy, and the fitness room has a Peleton bike that looks out onto the Harbor. Amazing. So many amenities, such a great time. Oh I almost forgot they offer Bikes to ride around Santa Barbara as well! This was our second time visiting, and we now plan on visiting at least every other month, if not monthly when we can. Well, it’s conveniently located right in front of the beach, which is fantastic. Everything is within walking distance, so you can explore the area on foot or even use one of their bikes if you prefer. We had an ocean view room, which was adequate. Nothing extraordinary, but it served its purpose. Since we were only there for a single night, we didn’t spend much time in our room. 😅 The only thing that would have been a plus for me would have been a room service option, as walking back to the main lobby at 3 am was quite a trek. Apart from that, it was a great place. I would definitely stay again.

We rented 3 rooms. One room did not have a closet, one room did not have a small blanket on the bed, one room did not supply the complimentary gift bag - we had to ask. We were never notified about the wine tasting in the patio. The staff was very nice and helpful but we had to ask, ask, ask.

The hotel, overall, was wonderful. The location was perfect , the staff was friendly, and the facility was clean. The one negative was the on location restaurant, Chads. We used to go there when it was Sambos and we loved it. When we went to Chad's, the serving staff was so unattentive. We were skipped over several times, so that the staff could help other folks who arrived later. The person next to me was complaining about the quality of his breakfast and the rest of the folks didn't have food and looked like they had been waiting for a while. The only good thing about it, was that it forced us to walk a couple of blocks to Jeanine's, a wonderful breakfast spot.

The first room we were in was by an alley on the second floor. Very noise, could not sleep at all. We spoke to the front office and requested a change. Then we were moved to a room by the pool. The TV remote control did not work nor did the coffee maker. We requested for it to be fixed. The rooms ARE really small. The hotel does not have a restaurant/bar/coffee bar. You have to walk to get any food or drinks. I think the price is too high for the quality of the rooms and service. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Beautiful, centrally located to many experiences and dining in the area. Beach is literally a few steps across the street.The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and refreshingly pleasant. It is quiet and intimate. Never loud. I love the fire pit tables in the evening. And make sure you go to Chad's for breakfast....just a few steps next door.

The property and the surrounding neighborhood was awesome, well kept grounds. They had coffee and smores available in the lobby. I would have like a few complimentary bottles of water in the room but they were only for purchase. The valet was excellent, he even found a ring that my daughter dropped in the bushes the evening prior, great service!

Beautiful property and maintained well. Great location but unfortunately, it needs a major overhaul in the rooms , old outdated furniture . There is no comfortable spot on the property to sit snd lounge, metal chairs, are very uncomfortable to sit and relax.On the website, it showed you breakfast , cheese, wine and fruit. There is no food service on the property . The pictures on web are staged. There is a breakfast/lunch restaurant next door to the Milo. I must said the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and polite. Not sure I would recommend the Milo.

It was a very nice location, directly across the street from the beach. A good brunch spot Chads is adjacent to hotel. I also liked that they had a lobby with a refrigerator full of non alcoholoc / alcoholic drinks for sale all night.
