The pictures on-line look great, however this is a really old hotel and they have tried to make it look ok. The first room we where in smelled so bad of mold we had to change rooms the next day. Our daughters room had a shower faucet coming out of the wall and the neighbors left marijuana sitting outside there door with flip-flops for TWO days and the staff never picked it up. We booked this hotel for the pool so our grandkids could swim but when we got there they said it was closed until next year. Don't stay here!

This was a nice stay with pets. Very friendly staff. The room was spacious and clean. Room had funny smell from AC, essential oils cleared it up. Walkable areas with lots of nicely cut grass all around the hotel. Breakfast room is nice and as pictured. Waffles, coffee, and options to choose from. Good stay for price.

Spacious rooms with comfortable bed and pillows. Great for the momey and worked well since for the pet policy. Overall the room was nice, clean and great! BUT tjat said, the only breakfast was waffles. Gravy but no biscuits. The stairwell and outside walkways were gross. If just cleaned up, the place would look more inviting. We would stay again.

I have stayed here several times on my trips between Texas and Colorado and every time has been a great experience. I always have my dogs with me and this Red Roof is always welcoming to them. The hotel is easy to get to and fairly quiet. It feels safe and there's a good size area to walk dogs.

Very disappointed in this property. The first room we got smelled like cigarettes. We got moved to a new room, the ac did not work. The kid at the front desk was great, he tried his best to make the situation better. The pictures online did not accurately show the property. The pool was a major reason we chose to stay there. It clearly had not been working for a while. The kid at the front desk was great, worked with me to get my money back.

We are traveling from Florida to Arizona. We have stayed at a La Quinta, Quality Inn and a Red Roof. The Red Roof in Amarillo was by far the best. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and everything worked.

The floors were sticky and there were footprints on the floors, as well as hair and grime in the showers. We ended up not using the shower because of this. It was apparent the units are not thoroughly cleaned very well.

I booked a 2 queen and sofa bed..... checked in and gave me keys to a room that was not cleaned ....so went back to get another room and only got 2 queen beds....3 of us slept in 1 bed and EVERYTHING WAS DIRTY!!! Floor had hair ,mirror was filthy....i could not wait to check-out!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

It was a clean room and the people at the front desk were always very courteous and helpful. I traveled with my dog and these rooms are suited to someone with a pet. Clean laminate floors and spacious and open. It is not fancy and a bit dated, but it was great for what it was. I loved seeing all the other dogs around as their owners took them for walks.

The bedding and towels were stained and dirty. The mirrors were either a smeared mess or still had fingerprints from former occupant. There was food under the bed. There was blood on the toilet lid. Even though the floor was still wet from being mopped when we arrived, my feet still were made dirty from floor. It was very unsanitary.

Couch had stains. It smelled like someone just finished smoking. Hair on the floor. Tub was stained. Needs major improvements. Would suggest paying a little more for a newer cleaner hotel, especially for one night hotel.

Big room but very DIRTY. Sheets need to be bleached as they were stained. If they have maids they apparently don’t sweep up hair & dirt on the floors or clean toilet, sink or shower.

Great price - we did have to change rooms since the first room reeked of cigarettes, the freeway was next to it and the carpet was really gross. The next room was fine - we aren’t particular just do not like nasty smells and outside noise from the freeway 😷

The room was spacious and clean when I arrived. There was a problem with the key system so I did not receive a key to the room until my third day. The key would work in the morning but not in the evening. I had to go to the front desk to get the room rekeyed. The room door was warped so warm air came into the room making the air conditioner work harder. My room was not cleaned every day I was there but that was not a problem for me. I made my bed in the mornings. The staff was very nice and apologetic about the key situation. They had to run around opening doors for the lodgers. Breakfast was good and the dining area was clean.

I would appreciate it if you could provide a better breakfast. The room was also dimly lit and the hang soap was not working. The WiFi also would not work. The room was a bit dusty and they did not provide us with towels….Overall just better amenities. Thank you!

Upon arrival the manager was not present and an employee was there answering a myriad of phone calls but not able to check me it. I waited about 5-6 minutes for the manager to arrive. I reserved a king bed but she said that the "system" overbooks and there were no kings available so she provided a room with two beds which was a few dollars cheaper. The room was clean and well stocked for my stay. I was one room from the highway so I was serenaded by drag racing motorcycles each night of my stay. The waffles and biscuits and gravy were very good but the juice machine was out of service as was the decaf coffee service. Not much you can do about location but you should concentrate on service aspect of the business.

I arrived a few minutes before 11pm to check in. I waited 10 minutes for an attendant to check me in, blocked by a locked door and an unanswered phone. I have learned via past experience with various Amarillo hotels that it isn't necessary to call ahead to notify of a late check in because most hotels are staffed 24/7. In this situation, one person had the responsibility of responding to guest requests and checking in arriving guests. That's fine, IF proper communication is established. I had no idea of knowing whether or not I would be able to check in to my room because I could not communicate with staff. Also, breakfast had two options only: waffles or biscuits and gravy. No juice and no coffee due to malfunctioning machines.

I paid for two rooms and showed up at 3am due to a traffic delay. The lady attending the lobby gave away my rooms and claimed since check in wasn’t until 2pm she couldn’t sell me new rooms.. I was offered no refund (basically stole my money and rooms)

My wife and I stayed 4 nights. The room was roomy, t.v. worked, larger than average fridge. They did not bring fresh towels, we had to go downstairs to the receptionist to request the towels..I also had to go downstairs twice during our stay to get our room keys reactivated( we were locked out) The second time that we were locked out, we had dinner and packages and I had to leave my wife, locked out on the walkway..when I got to the front desk, no one was there..it was 8:35 p.m. Two other families arrived to check in, still nobody. My wife called and said she was cold, she went back to the car with food and packages.. still nobody..at 9:10 a young man finally showed up, he looked high, his eyes looked bloodshot, he looked out of it..I was pissed but didnt yell, got his name and pointed out that we all were waiting for somebody for a half hour to help us, including an elder.. We paid good money for our rooms and to be left out in the cold, literally, was a bad experience. So no, I want people to be aware of the lack of assistance when you need it most.

My wife called and said she was cold, she went back to the car with food and packages.. still nobody..at 9:10 a young man finally showed up, he looked high, his eyes looked bloodshot, he looked out of it..I was pissed but didnt yell, got his name and pointed out that we all were waiting for somebody for a half hour to help us, including an elder.. We paid good money for our rooms and to be left out in the cold, literally, was a bad experience. So no, I want people to be aware of the lack of assistance when you need it most.

Check was nice and easy. Super friendly and helpful front desk. We got in around 10pm with no issue. Room was nice and spacious thank you Baeleigh and Perry for keeping it clean. Breakfast a a plus with hot items available. Would definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival the manager was not present and an employee was there answering a myriad of phone calls but not able to check me it. I waited about 5-6 minutes for the manager to arrive. I reserved a king bed but she said that the "system" overbooks and there were no kings available so she provided a room with two beds which was a few dollars cheaper. The room was clean and well stocked for my stay. I was one room from the highway so I was serenaded by drag racing motorcycles each night of my stay. The waffles and biscuits and gravy were very good but the juice machine was out of service as was the decaf coffee service. Not much you can do about location but you should concentrate on service aspect of the business.

The property was definatly unsafe and disgusting. Just going in to reception there was gun shells in the parking lot I had all my belongings in my uhaul truck after my house burned down so i have had no where else to go between Expedia and hopper i have had a very bad over all experience repeatedly so i will no longer recomend or purchass your service's. Overall details abiut hospitality properties here in amarillo need attention but not at my expense. Expedia and hopper have taken every last penny i have had after my house burned down due to misinformation and false advertisement, its not even worth a fight to put up for my last few hundred dollars i lost even after i gather several referrals from everyone i know and still that got me nonwhere. I also gave up the fight to keep a roof over my i now stay in my uhaul trailor because that's reliable dependable. Thanks for asking BTW for a second i thought maybe my opinion will be valued, i have no more money for your company to take i hope my voice helps the next person and just hope they dont have a expirience like mine.

I had a room in the back, room132, there just some scary looking people that was around. A guy was unloading a suv, a little girl told him "you steal", It was a older SUV and it had papertags on it. Made me worry about my car!

I have stayed here several times on my trips between Texas and Colorado and every time has been a great experience. I always have my dogs with me and this Red Roof is always welcoming to them. The hotel is easy to get to and fairly quiet. It feels safe and there's a good size area to walk dogs.

Positives: staff was great. The young man checking us in during the evening was very nice. Room was big. The water pressure was great. Price was fairly cheap. No hold on card for incidentals. Negatives: Room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke like very overpowering. Hotel being close to the highway you hear highway noise all night. The morning breakfast was biscuits and gravy, by 7am everything else was gone. Coffee machine broken.

I arrived a few minutes before 11pm to check in. I waited 10 minutes for an attendant to check me in, blocked by a locked door and an unanswered phone. I have learned via past experience with various Amarillo hotels that it isn't necessary to call ahead to notify of a late check in because most hotels are staffed 24/7. In this situation, one person had the responsibility of responding to guest requests and checking in arriving guests. That's fine, IF proper communication is established. I had no idea of knowing whether or not I would be able to check in to my room because I could not communicate with staff. Also, breakfast had two options only: waffles or biscuits and gravy. No juice and no coffee due to malfunctioning machines.

Reported the uncleanliness of room but the morning lady on Friday not much interest! 8:30 am no breakfast only gravey at bottom on pan & no biscuits, nothing!! ZERO !!!! So much for breakfast included stated to front desk lady didn’t seem to care. Very very disappointed, my very first time at Red Roof Inn.

This was a nice stay with pets. Very friendly staff. The room was spacious and clean. Room had funny smell from AC, essential oils cleared it up. Walkable areas with lots of nicely cut grass all around the hotel. Breakfast room is nice and as pictured. Waffles, coffee, and options to choose from. Good stay for price.

Free breakfast consisted of just one biscuit in the warmer, and sauage gravy. The creamer was labeled as "2% milk" but when I poured it in my coffee, it was actually orange juice! I tossed the whole mess in the trash and went elsewhere for breakfast.The hotel was just really rundown. I booked a different hotel for the next night.

Room had 3 lights overhead above bed, in the bathroom and one between the beds. desk area very dark and there was only one desk chair and nowhere else to sit except the bed or toilet. I drive from CO to TX regularly and have stayed at a lot of road-side hotels on the route. I usually travel with dogs and bikes, which require a large, pet friendly room. This was the largest and nicest room, in the value space, with a reasonable pet-fee, that I've stayed at in several years, and will become my spot to-stop on the route moving forward. The only thing that could use improvement, was the coffee/breakfast situation - but again, what was there was serviceable. We look forward to staying there again in the future!

The rooms are modern, clearly given renovation attention. The bathrooms need some of that, next. Mine was cramped and dim. If you just need to crash somewhere for the night and get going quickly the next day, this hotel is good for that.
