Extended Stay America Suites - Washington, DC - Fairfax - Fair Oaks

Our stay was ok. It was low priced so we had low expectations but I expected cleanliness. There were many maintenance activity we needed in room. The area outside lobby was not very clean.

The interior of the room was clean, but that was it. The parking lot, the stairs, the hallways are disgusting. Trash everywhere and people smoking all over the stairs and outside the rooms. And not only tobacco.

The exterior of the units especially the stairwells need a power washing as they are unsightly..... very low water pressure in the shower rm 268. Matress past its prime as i was nearly rolling off the side close to window the after a couple hours battery is dying or faulty fire alarm near bathr m went off 3 times between 10 pmcheckin and 1 am ...

Good stay - not a hotel, some amenities missing (ice machine) - excellent room , outside lounge areas , closet

Conveniently located but bad customer services . Tiny Reception area , breakfast is minimal. They frequently run out of kitchen utensils that is annoying.

Roaches, dirty, poor service and tvs that do not work. DO NOT STAY HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT PAY TO SLEEP WITH ROACHES. THERE ARE ROACH FREE HOTELS IN THE AREA THAT ARE CLEAN AND ROACH FREE. DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU DESERVE BETTER. My stay was terrible. Check in was fine. Found my building and started taking my stuff inside. Power wash is what first came to mind as the concrete and just everything around was just filthy like it was never cleaned. LIKE EVER Room was literally 85 degrees when I went in. I was leaving so I set it to 68 and left. Came back room was cooled down. Went to take a shower but I guess I should of told the roaches cause apparently it was their turn in there so I had wait. Tried to watch tv but it kept cutting off. Not like when the damn hotel menu was running but just when you tried to watch tv. Told the guy at the desk the following day and he said you have to smack the back of the tv and that i needed to bring him the dead roaches. I actually had one that I killed with a towel but didnt think I should bring it. I knew from his response this must be a common complaint. Took everything out of my bags and checked for roaches and then checked out. I have stayed at other Extended Stays with no issue along with other hotels but I have never stayed in one with roaches and all of the tvs worked. Dont stay here. You deserve better.

Area close to Fair Oaks Mall BUT room smelly, front steps and hall entry are duty.

Comfortable, and met our need. The desk agent was able to put us on the first floor, which was appropriated. The room shows its age, and could use an update. Water pressure was not the best, but shower was hot.

plugs and hair dryer do not work, the advertising mention breakfast and it is a sad coffee only, there is no elevator, you have to carry your suitcase up the steeps and it is very cold and rainy

The inside was really nice…but, I didn’t feel safe. One night I could hear arguments outside the window. Lots of people seem to be wondering around outside. Could have been cleaner….noticed a soda bottle of cigarette butts on the stairs and it was still there when we left. The inside was beautiful…the drain cover in the bathroom shower wouldn’t stay up.overall, a great stay…just didn’t feel safe. Loved the look of the room!

Disgusting with bugs.

Bugs in the room, room was half clean. Bathroom looks like someone left lipstick on counter or nail polish in the bathroom that was covered up by hand towels. Will never come by here.

The worst experience ever. I checked in this hotel on Tuesday this week. The room was filthy as hell like it is never been cleaned before. I woke up in the morning with tons of red bumps covering my body as in the photo I'm attaching. When I asked to switch my room next day, the service was very poor and the guy at the front desk gave me hard time to change the room. It turned out now that this is caused by bed bugs my family doctor told after looking at them. Bottom line, avoid this hotel at all costs!!!

Sabir, the front desk guy, was great. The hotel however was trash. Cockroaches in the room, stains on the bed and pillows, and loud noises. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place was awful. I was however able to get a full refund after being there for 30 minutes. I never leave reviews but I feel obligated to for this place. Do not stay here unless you enjoy bugs and stains.

The first room we got the AC didn’t work, it was very hot but they moved us very quickly and smoothly into a room with working AC which was very nice. The cleanliness wasn’t the best. The bathroom wall beside the toilet looked like it had crusted over vomit splashes and it smelt foul and sour. There was also dead bugs in the corners of the rooms. There was a huge gap underneath the door that a cricket was able to crawl under, into our room and chirp throughout the night. I almost wanted to not stay the last night and cut the lost because of how gross it felt and smelled in the room.

Bugs in room, remote had some kinds of gel substance in it, carpets and floors were sticky and the linens were not changed before we arrived. Asked for new linens and they told me I had to come get them and change bed myself.

It was obvious that the room wasn’t vacuumed or cleaned before we got there- crumbs and food on the floor, bugs in the kitchen and bathroom, dirty nightstand table. Must have killed a dozen cockroaches or more

Older hotel, but very clean

The hotel is in a great location - next to a mall and plenty of shopping centers and restaurants. Easy access to Rt. 50 and I-66. It’s an average, run of the mill hotel. If you’re there on a weekend you can expect other customers to throw a party, the smell of cigarettes and marijuana, and loud music. I wouldn’t stay there again because of this.

The rooms were not as pictured. Very spacious but old carpet, very musty smell. Pull out bed had mold on the mattress when cushions were removed and sheet on pull out bed was stained and dirty. The type of room you want to make sure you always have your shoes on in. Pulled out bed from wall slightly to access outlet and was very dirty behind bed as well. Not vinyl flooring as pictured. Very outdated.

This property is worn down. It's conveniently located but there are certainly no frills. The walls are thin and it's very dated. On the plus side, the AC worked like a charm and the mattress was extremely comfortable! The convenience of the kitchen is a bonus, too.

AC wasn't working for the first day, then I requested to change my room, TV wasn't working there.

Like? Cheapest in area. Dislikes? No trash can in room. Air conditioning sounds like a truck starting. WiFi signal so weak I had to use my phone as a hot spot. Person at checkin ignored me to finish inputting a list and then taking a phone call. Oh yeah, what looks like bullet holes next to the door handle along with other holes in the plaster.

AC did not work but they did move us to a different room. No continental breakfast. It was 9:30 am, hostess said it had not arrived yet.

I didn't like the room need to be updated. The carpet has many stains and are deteriorate. Need update the bathroom cabinet and the air condition is so noisy.

Horrible service. They made a mistake and gave my room to someone else. Then they got upset at me because i was not happy. Not once was there an apology from them even though they are in the wrong. Over all horrible experience

The receptionist at the counter was really nasty . She doesn’t know how to behave with customers . The property does not provide cooking utensils unless you ask them and they will say they have run out of the item .

Our Flight was delayed by 2 hours. When we arrived at the Hotel, the fronts desk wasn't staff. Sign said, dial 0. When I dialed 0, the phone at the desk rang and rang. After about 30 min. a clerk showed up.

An initial 6 day. No room cleaning. Extended 3 days and still no room cleaning

Very comfortable. Helpful staff. Convenient to shopping, highways, services. We always enjoy staying here!

Hello, I rented your hotel Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Fairfax - Fair Oaks for one night. I returned to the hotel at 2 am, the card was not working. I went to the lobby and no one was there!! I waited until 4:30 and no one was there, then I went to the car and slept until 6:00!! Unfortunately, I rented a hotel and could not sleep in it!!! There were two others whose ball did not work!!! It is unthinkable that a hotel does not have employees، I couldn’t sleep because I have work at 7:30am 😢, Please I want a refund, thank you.

Breakfast was not available as mentioned. I requested glasses to drink water but staff didn't provided even after 2 requests.

The front desk staff was courteous, prompt, and very helpful. I fly into Fairfax once a quarter for work and I will book here every time, if there are suites available. I had one issue with my TV on the first day of a 4-day stay and maintenance resolve it within minutes.

Location was good. We didnt get the room I booked. According to them expedia sent the roon information. I viewed their screen and they had. I booked a two bedroom and they sent a king bedroom.

I didn’t feel safe, I could see daylight through the door, hole in bathroom wall, dirty counter tops, people hanging outside their rooms, homeless hanging in parking lot. Bathroom was gross!

Property is centrally located in a very good area. Extremely convenient to all shopping and restaurants.

In an area we thought would be very safe but unfortunately the hotel parking lot had some unsavory elements. Room smelled strongly of marijuana. There was a large puddle of water by the kitchen sink floor. Pull out couch was the bare minimum and had no sheets or pillows (we got a sheet set from the front desk). Empty shopping cart from nearby store was in the stairwell. During the night, two young men attempted and eventually gave up trying to use a slim jim to open a locked vehicle in the parking lot. The one person we interacted with at the desk was very pleasant but we were happy we only needed to spend one night before continuing our move.

there are shopping mall/ macy/ in 3 minutes walk, and food court inside shopping mall is also great.

A clean, comfortable, no-frills room for the value-minded traveler. EXCELLENT location...close to interstate and other critical highways.

Sketchy people roaming around at night. People scouting out cars and following you to your room. Didn’t feel safe at all. Didn’t even stay the full week and booked for a different hotel.

only one way into property off very, very busy Monument Avenue. Traffic heavy day, night overnight. Ask for a room that does not face the roadway...LOTS of noisy Semi tractor trailers with squeaky, v loud air brakes. excellent morning coffee, hot chocolate. Fresh fruit would be a nice addition

Walking distance to mall

Staff was helpful but not much more to say about this place. “Breakfast Included” is a joke for what they offer which it’s just a coffee bar with muffins and granola bars! Seen homeless person charging phone and smoking in front of the lobby while sitting on a bench. Had to wait a whole day for clean sheets and was told I can only get 1 roll of toilet paper at a time which it’s inconvenient when you’re staying there for a few weeks and I have to be making trips every other day for toiletries. The room was outdated but ok for a quick stay. It says pet friendly but to me it should say “allow pets” because there’s nothing there for dogs… not a gated area or dog bags/trash cans on site! Very little green area for dogs and to me that’s not at all pet friendly. There’s shopping and groceries nearby and that was nice.

First thing I noticed "the smell", maybe from the old worn-out carpet! The room has everything, full size fridge, microwave. The room looks dated, a bit dark for my liking. Right next to the Fair Oaks Mall, 5 minutes walk. There were ants in the room, not a big deal for us but might be a big deal for others. Breakfast is very basic, small counter at reception: small muffins, oatmeal, coffee, tea to go. Would we stay again, probably not!

Advertised kitchen essentials for room. Nothing was there when we checked in went to the front desk couldnt get until 7am the next day. Next day went to get disnt have enough to go around. NEVER AGAIN!!! If you advertise it then it should be there. Breakfast was coffee and a few nutri grain bars and granola bars in the lobby right across from check in. No tables, just a bench for 2. HUGELY DISAPPOINTED

The sheet was not clean. The breakfast was so terrible. Just nutrition bar, muffin and coffee. Also, the coffee was not ready till 8:00 am.
