This a beautiful boutique hotel that was once a school. They have implemented the school theme perfectly throughout the facility. The staff was very courteous. The restaurant that is on-site has delicious food and great service. We enjoyed our stay here and will stay here again when in the area.

I found it very unique that it was once a school and still maintaining a touch of decor still pertaining to its past. The pictures and explanation of its past history are informative and interesting. The lockers in the hallway to the railings that were made out of the old radiator heating systems from the classrooms to the Detention Bar that is for hotel guests that is soon to open are all nice touches. The Graphite restaurant that is attached to the hotel is very nice and the dinner was very good. The new Courtroom bar that is still under construction in the old gymnasium and will be open to the public in the future is also attached to the hotel and is going to be large and spacious. This is an ideal situation for hotel guest to enjoy by just having all these different accommodations in one spot and never having to drive anywhere if you choose not to. Great place..

Such a clever concept and unique property executed with charm and sophistication. The rooms were new and very clean. Linens were great quality. Staff were very pleasant. The attached restaurant, The Graphite, provided some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, specifically the whipped potatoes, and Gouda Mac and cheese. It was a superb experience in a quaint small town of Columbia just minutes from downtown St Louis. We look forward to returning.

Checkin was effortless. Staff were always helpful. Parking was convenient. Room was extremely clean and bed was super comfortable. Hotel is an old Catholic School and it was beautifully re-architected into a hotel. Nice upscale restaurant (Graphite) connected to hotel.

I travel all over the country and was quite impressed with the property... The lady at the front desk was nice, ample parking, restaurants in the area that are within walking distance and the room was probably one of the cleanest rooms I have ever come across staying at a hotel...

This property was outstanding! It was very clean and the staff were very friendly. You could tell they put a lot of effort into providing an incredible stay. From nice thick towels to offering free drink tickets the property was. Class act. We would highly recommend this hotel.

It's a really awesome space and the staff was excellent. The only issue we had was that the room had an odd chemical smell. It was a clean room so it may have been a ventilation issue. Other than that, everything was great!

Hotel was well kept, and very clean and comfortable. Columbia appears to be a very safe and quiet town. The only 'issue' we had was the one time I returned to find my room door blocked open by the dead bolt, and it appeared that no housekeeping persons were on the floor. I assume while supplying our room with fresh towels, they must have forgotten to reopen the dead bolt and let the door lock. Probably because of the hotels location, it appeared that we did not have anything missing. This could have turned out bad. The good thing is the room did have a combination lock box that I had taken advantage of with a valuable or two

When I got in my room I noticed a brown spot on my bed. No big deal. I asked the girl working the desk if the could change it while I went out to eat. She was super nice. When I got back I noticed she had not only changed it but left me several snack

We were traveling through to visit family on our way to Nashville and wanted to check out a non-chain hotel. I am really impressed with the renovation of this old Catholic school and how they tied together the history into the concept of the hotel. Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. I was impressed with everything from check in to check out, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the price was great! We felt right at home. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well taken care of. I look forward to a return stay.

You can’t control the ac in your room and it was so hot in there and uncomfortable. When someone upstairs flushes the toilet, it is so loud it sounds like the ceiling is going to cave in. Other than that, it’s a very nice hotel, just not my favorite.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The shower was incredible, everything was nice and clean. My only complaint is that it can be a bit of a winding walk to get to rooms but I won’t ding them anything for that because it’s good to reuse old buildings (in this case a school). Would recommend this to anyone.

The atmosphere of it being a renovated school was a lot of fun, and extremely well done. the room was plenty spacious, and extremely clean. All the staff we met were very friendly. This hotel is a must stay if you are passing through. Even if you are visiting St. Louis, it is worth the 15-20 minute drive to stay out of the city in the quaint little town.

This was such a cute hotel. Comfortable room, not carpeted - wish I had brought slippers- air is a bit tricky to figure out- had to call front desk and she says everyone calls. The TV is log in only - so you have to have streaming services which could be a problem for some. The attention to details was outstanding.

Brand new property is beautiful and very chic. If not for the debacle during check-in, I’d give it a full 5 stars. Front desk girl fumbled through the incidentals retrieval on my credit card. Ran it multiple times to obtain what she called “putting it on fille”, but “not charging anything on it”. 90 minutes after I left, someone ran my card at an unrelated store next to the hotel for 180.00. When asked the next morning, the front desk said “oh I’m so sorry. I must have performed a pre-authorization there. It’s a learning experience for me and I’ll put that money back on your card”. I’d already disputed the charge with my account provider, and it dropped off in a couple days.

Overall stay was just terrible. We booked three rooms based on the high rating this hotel received in the past. When we arrived, my own room had a strong smell of sewage (I had another colleague corroborate this). I immediately asked to change rooms (a thing I have never done in all my years of travel) and was assigned another room. Unfortunately, whereas I booked a room with a kingside bed I now received a room with two queen size beds. No apology was offered at the time for the inconvenience. The new room had a loud screeching sound coming out of the air vent. I recorded it and came back again to reception. I was told that I could not be moved even though I explained that the noise was so loud no one could sleep there. I did stay up awake all night and had the pleasure of loud noises from the plumbing system added to the air vent noise. I recorded those too throughout the night. In the morning when I checked out the person at reception finally apologized and offered a free breakfast. I have never written a negative review of hotels. This is a first but the experience was truly aweful. By the way, after check out a maintenance person was at reception after checking my room and he acknowledged the loud noise.

Everything was good. It is very clean. We had a couple of issues but the young lady at the front desk went above and beyond to take care of it. When really it wasn’t a big enough issue to worry about we just wanted to let her know for the next person in line. They have amazing staff and an amazing hotel. We will go back

Man man man. I was so glad to find this little hotel in this little town of Columbia Illinois. I was working in St Louis and I didn't want to stay anywhere close to where I was working. This was about a 30-minute drive and worth every mile. Told my wife I'll be bringing her back to this little quaint town and hotel. Good restaurants nearby too. I stay in hotels about 2 weeks a month in different cities throughout the world and this was one of the trendiest, cleanest, most comfortable places I stayed in recent memory.

The hotel is very nice and clean. It seems new, and was very quiet. The town is small and convenient to get to work in STL. A couple good restaurants nearby too. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel was well kept, and very clean and comfortable. Columbia appears to be a very safe and quiet town. The only 'issue' we had was the one time I returned to find my room door blocked open by the dead bolt, and it appeared that no housekeeping persons were on the floor. I assume while supplying our room with fresh towels, they must have forgotten to reopen the dead bolt and let the door lock. Probably because of the hotels location, it appeared that we did not have anything missing. This could have turned out bad. The good thing is the room did have a combination lock box that I had taken advantage of with a valuable or two

Very pleasant, super clean… Definitely recommend if you’re in the area. St Louise has a lot to offer, best part was Cahokia pyramids (wish they were renovated relating to past versions) and of course a teip to the top of Gateway Arch.

The atmosphere of it being a renovated school was a lot of fun, and extremely well done. the room was plenty spacious, and extremely clean. All the staff we met were very friendly. This hotel is a must stay if you are passing through. Even if you are visiting St. Louis, it is worth the 15-20 minute drive to stay out of the city in the quaint little town.

One of the best hotel stays we've ever had! I loved all the unique schoolhouse themed items. From the moment we walked in it smelled very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was the most comfortable we've ever stayed in! The area around the hotel was nice and safe, I enjoyed walking on the walking/biking trail nearby. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again if in the area!

This a beautiful boutique hotel that was once a school. They have implemented the school theme perfectly throughout the facility. The staff was very courteous. The restaurant that is on-site has delicious food and great service. We enjoyed our stay here and will stay here again when in the area.

I found it very unique that it was once a school and still maintaining a touch of decor still pertaining to its past. The pictures and explanation of its past history are informative and interesting. The lockers in the hallway to the railings that were made out of the old radiator heating systems from the classrooms to the Detention Bar that is for hotel guests that is soon to open are all nice touches. The Graphite restaurant that is attached to the hotel is very nice and the dinner was very good. The new Courtroom bar that is still under construction in the old gymnasium and will be open to the public in the future is also attached to the hotel and is going to be large and spacious. This is an ideal situation for hotel guest to enjoy by just having all these different accommodations in one spot and never having to drive anywhere if you choose not to. Great place..

Room was clean, was able to get checked in early so i could relax before my nieces wedding rehearsal. The do not disturb sign was missing, talked to the front desk and got it. I just wish you guys had a hot breakfast, but with the restaurant attached, i understand

Such a clever concept and unique property executed with charm and sophistication. The rooms were new and very clean. Linens were great quality. Staff were very pleasant. The attached restaurant, The Graphite, provided some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, specifically the whipped potatoes, and Gouda Mac and cheese. It was a superb experience in a quaint small town of Columbia just minutes from downtown St Louis. We look forward to returning.

Checkin was effortless. Staff were always helpful. Parking was convenient. Room was extremely clean and bed was super comfortable. Hotel is an old Catholic School and it was beautifully re-architected into a hotel. Nice upscale restaurant (Graphite) connected to hotel.

Overall was the best stay we have had with any one. The only downside would be no hot breakfast unless you went to the restaurant on location. Staff was great and so helpful when we needed anything for the room.

The Principal has become our favorite hotel we stay at! Clean- really nice rooms! anything you could want for food or drink within walking distance- and the on-site restaraunt -Graphite is awesome if you are lookig for fine dining plus they give you a discount when staying! The town of Columbia is great!
