Historic hotel right by the main train station and metro so easy access to airport and trains to Sweden and elsewhere in Denmark. Renovation tries to maintain historic features so some comprises involved, such as no AC. Excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel right next to copenhagen station. I had a room facing the tracks so a bit of noise from the trains but not too bad. Breakfast was included and the food selection and quality was good. Would stay here again.

Hotel Astoria was built in the 1930's. Over the many years of operation, they have maintained that retro vibe with a few modern touches. The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the Copenhagen Central Station. This is both a positive and a negative. Many of the city's homeless population call this area home. It is also very busy; the trains and street noise are always in the background. As with many older hotels in Europe, there is no A/C, and with the location of this hotel, keeping the windows open just isn't an option. You are also just one block from Tivoli Circus and the food court, which has an amazing assortment of dining options. I don't want this review to sound as negative as it does; we truly enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was what I expected and comfortable. The breakfast offered each morning had a good variety of offerings, from traditional local fare to American-type foods. So the big question: would I stay there again? Maybe, just depends on our travel plans and budget.

I give all the stars to the breakfast and daytime staff — they were genuinely lovely, welcoming, and helpful. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was very disappointing. The bed had a very unpleasant smell, and the hotel was extremely noisy, which made it difficult to properly rest. I also understand and appreciate eco-friendly practices, but using sustainability as a reason not to provide even basic essentials such as a bath mat/foot towel feels excessive rather than thoughtful. Eco-conscious hospitality should not come at the expense of basic comfort and hygiene. Sadly, despite the wonderful staff during the day, the overall stay did not meet my expectations.

I wanted to love this hotel, and parts of it I did. It is old, and the building itself is beautiful. Very vintage. Breakfast is amazing! The location is great to catch hop on-hop off buses and to go to Tivoli. What was not great was the noise and the lack of air conditioning. I did not see anywhere that it mentioned there wasn't AC, and I guess I don't look to see if it is mentioned as having it. That's my fault I suppose. But it was HOT in the room. In addition, it is located right beside the train station, so it is extremely loud ALL day and night. There was also some people hanging out, doing who knows what, directly below our window ALL NIGHT. Screaming and yelling, throwing things. Not only did it prevent us from sleeping at all, but there was trash everywhere on the sidewalk, and it was a bit uncomfortable thinking we would have to exit at 5:45am with that group outside. Luckily they dispersed shortly before. We really did love the hotel itself as it is beautiful. The history of it being for conductors was so interesting. If AC is not needed and noise doesn't bother you, you would definitely love this hotel!
