The newly refurbished room was very well decorated. Air conditioning was very effective in the room. Filter water stations on every floor were very convenient. The only thing they need to sort out is getting the in room TV connected to the internet, as a foreign traveller the TV is pointless without having the internet as without it you only have the French terrestrial channels. If you will rely on a lift to go up and down the building you will be frustrated, there is one lift for the whole hotel and even once you’ve waited a good amount of time for it the inside of the lift is very hot.

We stayed here for three nights. The room was very nice and well decorated, but the expel-air didn’t work at all which is unacceptable given it is windowless. We spoke to the lady on reception about it, but no action was taken to our knowledge. It certainly didn’t work for the remainder of our stay. Is seems a bit of a stretch to classify this establishment as a hotel, given that there is no restaurant or bar service outside of breakfast hours which are 7 am to 11 am - not even a coffee bar, so for us it should be classified as a bed and breakfast offering. The food was certainly good and fresh, but the dining area is totally inadequate resulting in very heavy traffic in a very limited space. The property boasts 70 rooms so the clientele could number 140+ when fully occupied. The location is very good which is probably a large part of their 4 star rating, but they could better serve their clients and themselves by ceding more space to catering and all day cafe services. We did enjoy our stay in good part, but not sufficiently to entice us to return.

Was an amazing boutique hotel, welcoming staff and a wonderful area. If you are looking for a small welcoming place, this is it. But if you want a gym and pool, maybe look somewhere else.

We had a lovely stay at Albert 1er Hotel in Nice. The location couldn’t be better - right by the Old Town and just a short walk to the Promenade des Anglais. The décor throughout the hotel is very tasteful, and the staff were excellent - super attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Communication before our stay was also great. We arrived early and, although our room wasn’t ready yet, we were able to leave our luggage at reception, and did the same on our last day before a late flight, which was really handy. The room was on the smaller side with limited wardrobe space, but the bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath and window. We had a courtyard view - not the most exciting, but it was mostly quiet apart from some noise on Saturday night. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable – I often struggle to sleep the first few nights away, but I had no trouble here. There are water refill stations on every floor, which is really convenient. There’s only one lift, and it’s quite small - it fits about two people with bags. Unfortunately, it wasn’t working on our last day, which wasn’t a big deal for us but might be worth noting if you have a lot of luggage. We checked in on my birthday, which the hotel didn’t acknowledge in any way. Housekeeping could be a bit better, as we often noticed some hair still on the bathroom floor when we came back to the room in the evening, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

The hotel was being renovated so was very noisy and there was nowhere to sit. The "garden view" was over a major road junction. The cups for the Nescafe were cardboard and were not even changed so guests are expected to drink from used cardboard cups. the staff were friendly and helpful - and the breakfast was good but expensive - the only good things in an otherwise unsatisfactory hotel (listed as 4 stars online but as only 3 stars in Nice - definitely only 3 star)

The hotel was in a fabulous area walkable to all the events, especially the carnival. Shopping areas lots of restaurants all the transportation you would need the hotel had a breakfast available either a shorter or full version which was reasonable.. room was comfortable. Shower was good and I had a room with a water view so it was very nice. The hotel does not have a lobby, just a vestibule, which can get very uncomfortable at check out, especially with large groups. There’s only one elevator, which is very small and twice it was broken in the 10 days that I stayed there, but they did fix it within a reasonable time. They do not give you water. There is a water dispenser in the hallway and the only thing you really have to put it in is your coffee pot so that can get uncomfortable but I know it does save on the environment.

The hotel was in a great location. It was next to Old town and across the street from the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was larger than I expected. The AC and the Wifi worked great. The negatives were the condition of the room. The carpet looked as if someone spilt bleach in several areas and was burned. The shower doors were falling apart and the tiles were loose or missing.

Great location, and a few of the rooms have nice views. The rooms are a bit small but not unusual for France. The carpet in my room really needed to be replaced a few years ago. There is also some time of moldy smell eminating from the bathroom that needs to be addressed. It looked like they were in the process of refurbishing several of the floors so maybe these issues get addressed going forward.

A nice place. I really appreciated the kettle and the comfortable bed. The location from the water and main attractions was really good. I wish there were less plastic being used and the rugs were really dirty. However, the service was great. The front desk and housekeeping were very courteous.

With an excellent location right on the edge of the old town and steps away from the promenade, I couldn’t fault this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and the room I was allocated had a sea view and a balcony which was much appreciated. Water fountains on each floor were a very welcome addition. I would highly recommend staying here.

Our room was booked as a “sea view,” but we were on the 2nd floor and could only view the ocean if we went out on the balcony and stretched to look. Unfortunately, the balcony had old used cigarette butts and was too small to sit or enjoy the view. We also visited in late August. Apparently there was a huge outdoor event happening during the same weekend of our visit. The music and public speeches were VERY loud and right outside our window. Thankfully the city requires quiet after 11:30PM, but it would have been nice to go to bed earlier than midnight. No one warned us that our stay would be disrupted by this loud event. I was disappointed with our stay and would not book with Albert 1er again as a result of this negative experience.

The property was beautiful. In a very great location. Just a block from the beach and shopping. My biggest complaint was the lack of cold air in my room. I had friends on the second floor and their room was cold but my room on the 6th floor was extremely warm. I told the front desk and the best they can do was give us a floor fan. They say the ac was working fine but the heat outside was making our room warm. They need to fix the air and make sure every room is comfortable especially in the summer months.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The room design was modern with a very French touch—stylish and cozy. We booked a sea view room, and it was absolutely worth it. The view was stunning, and for the price, it’s one of the best values in town for that kind of view. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The check-in area is pretty small, so you might find yourself squeezing past people coming or going, but it’s not a big deal. There are two things we wanted to point out: First, the WiFi was very unstable. We were on the 5th floor and barely had any internet connection most of the time. If you’re relying on WiFi and not using mobile data, this could be frustrating—maybe lower floors have better signal. Second, the A/C wasn’t turned on during our stay (mid-April). We were told it’s shut off during the winter months. It was rainy but still felt warm without A/C, so we had to sleep with the balcony door open, which let in a bit of street noise. The hotel is right next to the Albert 1er Garden, which often hosts events—there was a vintage car show while we were there, for example. That said, the location is unbeatable. The beach is less than a minute’s walk, there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, and there’s even a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Super convenient! Overall, a great experience with beautiful views and a fantastic location—just a couple things to keep in mind if you’re planning to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay here, the plus points were the cleanliness, the bed was super comfy and the location is fantastic. The room however was VERY small, it was a Superior sea view room, there was a tiny wardrobe with a few hangers but nowhere else to put anything so it felt very cramped as there was also very little floor space so everything was in the way. The sound proofing also wasn’t great we could hear a lot from the room next door which woke us up very early one morning. Also outside noise was an issue as there was a festival across the road but clearly not a fault of the hotel itself.

Wonderful location but the hotel turned off A/C to the building when the weather was 70 degrees F outside only because a couple of guest complained that it was cold and did not want to accommodate the guest who felt it was too hot. Woke up in sweat multiple nights because of this. Also the elevator was down for an entire day so had to walk up and down from the 5th floor.

The hotel is far from being a 4 star hotel. They are under construction and had no reception, or a place that you could wait for a service or a car. They claimed that after construction is done they are going to be a 4 star. I felt robbed because I paid for a service that was not available. The rooms are small and in the renovated rooms the door to the toilet can’t close because your knee sticks out passing the space necessary to close the door. Ridiculous!!! The staff was good but the hotel management horrible. The only good thing was the location.

Hotel location is convenient to dining & transportation. Staff is friendly and helpful. They also provided a water fountain station on our floor to fill up drinking containers - much appreciated. I wished they had an ice machine on each floor as well because we had to go to the lobby each day to get ice cubes for our drinks provided in a bucket upon our inquiry. We also noticed a cappuccino making machine in the lobby but made accessible only for those who paid for breakfast in the morning otherwise the cabinet housing the cappuccino machine is closed shut. As a goodwill gesture the hotel should leave the cabinet open for all their patrons to get a complimentary cup of cappuccino throughout the day while relaxing in the lobby like other hotels did during our tour of France.

Horrible customer service. When we arrived they told us breakfast was served between 6:30 and 10:30am. So we went and got just a couple stuff and sat there for 5minutes. Then, when leaving they ask us to pay $38 for breakfast. When asked why they didnt tell us the breakfast was not included in our stay, their response was "I don't have to tell you". I do not recommend this place.

This property was incredible! The room we stayed in was super clean and spacious enough for us and our luggage to not feel cramped. It is in an absolutely prime location near the beach and fantastic restaurants. The staff were so nice and we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay in during our trip to Nice! I’d highly recommend this property. It was definitely an area / property safe for female travellers as well. The only reason this was not a 5 star property rating is due to the transportation arrangement to the property. We had arranged for the hotel to send a driver to pick us up from the train station. There was some miscommunication about the pick up time and the driver was early at the train station (no big deal) but the driver called me from a personal number and texted from the same number. He did not identify himself as being with the hotel just said he was the driver. This is very concerning as a female traveller as I avoid giving people my information abroad. We sorted it out and when we arrived we the train station, he showed up in an unmarked black car. Again I would have felt more reassured if there was some identification of a ride service etc. on top of all this, the driver was very rude to my group. He was very short tempered and this wasn’t French nonchalantness, it was rude and we were very offput by it. Then he charged €30 for a 6 min ride, which is expected when you’re visibly a tourist but still. I’d arrange my own car next time.

I chose this hotel for our group due to its high star rating, location, and “luxury hotel” description. Despite wanting to like it, the hotel repeatedly disappointed us. The location was great for the Ironman race and close to the Old City’s restaurants and plazas. However, the hotel lacks a proper front desk and lobby, with a small table for check-in/out in a cramped nook. Our group of 5 couldn’t stand together anytime, and our bags blocked the stairs, inconveniencing other guests. The hallway had broken mirrors, adding to the sad vibe. There was no luggage assistance, which is unexpected for a high-end hotel. The rooms were small and functional, typical of a European economy hotel, and not worth more than 200 EUR. If you stay here, buy breakfast with your room, as it costs 19 EUR per person otherwise, which is overpriced for a basic continental breakfast. The breakfast staff was friendly, though. Amazing hotel due to its location, price, and most importantly, their staff. Everyone there was kind and welcoming to us, explained and answered all questions. Location is 100/10…you’re right down the street from the beach and from all the bars/restaurants. Walkable distance from practically everything (15 mins ) Good WiFi service and AC The hotel is literally next to a small convenient store and cafe so once you leave can pick up some drinks, sodas/pop, or coffee and be on with your day. Great location for dining in the old town - shops close and a tram for getting to the station and around. We took the train to Monaco which was easy to do. Hotel very clean and lovely to walk out across the road to the promenade and the beach. You can just go on the public area- pebbly though!- or can pay for a lounger - quite expensive €20+- the sea shelves quite steeply and if the sea is strong a challenge getting out but we made it. A great place to stay. We went for a cocktail at the Negresco and have to say the service there was really slow and not worth the high cost for a drink.

Great location, but can be very noisy! On weekend nights, it felt like we were at a party in our room from the loud music right outside until about 11:30 pm. However, other than that, we enjoyed the hotel. We had an updated room on the second floor and “ocean view” was barely a side view. We wish we had been prepared for the noise, so fair warning!

With an excellent location right on the edge of the old town and steps away from the promenade, I couldn’t fault this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean and the room I was allocated had a sea view and a balcony which was much appreciated. Water fountains on each floor were a very welcome addition. I would highly recommend staying here.

We spoke to the lady on reception about it, but no action was taken to our knowledge. It certainly didn’t work for the remainder of our stay. Is seems a bit of a stretch to classify this establishment as a hotel, given that there is no restaurant or bar service outside of breakfast hours which are 7 am to 11 am - not even a coffee bar, so for us it should be classified as a bed and breakfast offering. The food was certainly good and fresh, but the dining area is totally inadequate resulting in very heavy traffic in a very limited space. The property boasts 70 rooms so the clientele could number 140+ when fully occupied. The location is very good which is probably a large part of their 4 star rating, but they could better serve their clients and themselves by ceding more space to catering and all day cafe services. We did enjoy our stay in good part, but not sufficiently to entice us to return.

The CLOSENESS TO IT ALL! One block off the beach and one block to Shops and Restaurants. Enjoyed the evening strolls along the beach. Breakfast was very special and tasty. They even gave us a bag of Breakfast treats to take on our early departing train. Also arranged transfers to the Niceville Train Station.

We enjoyed our stay. The location of the room was perfect and we enjoyed a swim in the Mediterranean and walking around the center of town. We enjoyed the easy access to water. The breakfast was excellent.

A great location with a wonderful breakfast buffet every morning. The staff were very friendly, providing wonderful service and even digging through a basket of tech to find us a phone charger/converter. Rooms are small but chic and clean. Don't be fooled by how small the main floor reception is (a desk inside the main entrance), this hotel is a great place to stay. We watched the Carnival parade from our balcony and could walk to the old town market and most of the shopping areas.

What a wonderful hotel. Firstly its location is perfect, 2 minutes from the sea and just down the road from the market and Old Town. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were able to leave are luggage before check in and after check out. The room was clean, comfortable and had a wonderful view of the park and the sea. The Albert 1er hotel is a very pretty, deco, little hotel, in a great location. The rooms are not too large and we found that our room was very tight for two people with luggage. Unfortunately, our television was not working in our room which was too bad. The staff were incredibly nice. They were pleasant, helpful and professional. As for the breakfast, it was just okay. I would recommend that fresh fruit be served instead of preserved fruit as well a some low calorie items. I was just happy to have my coffee and a baguette. We would definitely stay again but make sure to travel with less bags.
