Hotellrummen är gamla och slitna. Äcklig heltäckningsmatta och färgsläpp. Gamla badrum med toaletter som lever om från rummen bredvid. Helt okej sängar. Bra läge nära stand och spårvagn. Gymmet är under all kritik. Inga fria vikter eller maskiner. Enbart löpband och obefintlig ventilation. Poolområdet är fint och bra utbyt i baren. Men enbart 10 solstolar så det blir snabbt fullt. Bra frukost.

Property located on a quiet tree-lined street that is close to all the attractions including train station, beach, restaurants and cafes. The staff is superb and professional including front desk, rooftop pool and housekeeping. Hotel has a gym, spa and onsite-secured parking. Only issue in a great property is the carpeted guest rooms that have a musky scent.

Loved our stay for a quick 48 hours in Nice! The desk gave us great recommendations for restaurants. Great location, easily walkable to the beach and city. Loved the rooftop pool and bar! Looking forward to coming back!

Our room smelled bad and was damp, the hotel needs renovation, the jacuzzi upstairs was broken.

Splendid is a good “4 Star” hotel in central Nice. It represents solid price/value for the area. The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop (8th floor) Bar and Restaurant. Their breakfast buffet runs $19 Euro and is a good value. Worth noting their dinner menu is quite limited.

The hotel is very old, dirty and poorly maintained. It does not meet the 4 star requirements. The rooms had very bad smell, carpets were dirty, there was water leak and mold sign in the rooms.

Great service but terrible smell emanating from the washroom, which woke me up during my stay. If this issue hasn't occured, I would rated the property 4/5 or even higher.

We liked the amenities, staff and food however our room was in dire need of a facelift. The carpet was filthy and the wallpaper was coming off the walls. The bathroom was nice

The staff are phenomenal and friendly. They were super helpful and this made our stay even better. The area is accessible to a lot of great restaurants and the beach. The only downside was that we found a few items/trash left over by previous guest in one of the drawers and didn’t seem super clean. Other than that, it was great!

The hotel is well located, not far from the beach and Promenafe des Anglais. Its on a quiet, leafy street. The staff were very nice, efficient and helpful, both at the desk and in the restaurant. Clean, roomy on the 7th floor, plenty of closet space. There wasnt alot of light in the bathroom for doing makeup but otherwise, all good.

Rummet var mycket trevligt, städningen mycket bra. Skönt med kyl som fylldes på med vatten varje dag. Baren utmärkt och hög service.

The hotel is nice overall, but it’s clear the property is past its prime. Some areas have been updated, while others are in serious need of renovation. We stayed on the first floor and appreciated the spacious balcony, though the large fence completely blocked the view and any breeze. The decor feels dated and worn, but the hotel is clean, the restaurants were good, and the location is excellent. All in all, it’s a decent place—but definitely due for a refresh.

Location is lovely and the roof top bar with incredible views is what makes this hotel. We booked the junior suite and it looks nothing like the pictures. May need to update those to give a more realistic view of what the room really looks like and it’s very outdated. But it was fine. Only other criticism was the dreadful drainage smell coming from the bathroom…… we did tell reception on departure and were told it’s a common thing on the French Riviera….. I would be interested to know if every other hotel has this same complaint for a 4 star hotel?

We stayed in this “luxury” hotel for a week in a very hot summer with no working AC. We were promised to have a working Air Conditioning every day and it was very uncomfortable and honestly we felt overcharged and hustled. It was very uncomfortable.

No air conditioning in summer heat, despite keeping windows open. Suite was old and moldy, causing asthma symptoms, with outdated furniture. Hotel site claims a "gym"; would not qualify it as such. Essentially a 4-star cost for a 1-star hotel. We do not recommend.

Vi bodde i den äldre delen vilket verkligen märktes. Antar att om man väljer de dyrare renoverade rummen känns det mer som 4-stjärnigt. Vi saknade tvål och balsam i badrummet men fick i receptionen, lampa blinkade lite läskigt i badrummet och tygtapeterna och heltäckningsmattan har verkligen sett sina bästa dagar. Duschvattnet var svårt att ställa in-från iskallt till skållhett på milimetern men eftersom jag läst recensionerna var jag inställd på lite rufft och min 12-åriga dotter som bott på många både 5 o 4-stärniga "såg" inget av detta utan tyckte hotellet var jättebra och det var viktigast för mig. Frukosten typisk fransk, som svensk saknar jag lite hälsosammare val som tex fröer till youghurten, det fanns endast olika söta alt, jag åt med valnötter endast men kompletterade med äggröra, ost så det funkade, dottern drog i sig croissanter med nutella, frukt o yoghurt. Hade jag åkt med min man hade vi valt det dyrare rummet och säkert varit ganska nöjd med det. Poolen och läget var anledningen till bokningen och det var finemang, personalen likaså.10 min prom. till tåget, typ 5 till stranden o 20 till Gamla stan. Dock bör man vara vid poolen senst nio för att säkra plats under högsäsong men folk kommer och går lite så kommer man vid lunch brukar det bli lediga stolar. Sängen upplevdes lite stum men vi sov gott hela natten och det var väldigt tyst. Sammanlagt är vi nöjda ändå eftersom vi spenderade minimalt med tid på rummet. Sent hem o tidigt upp.

We had 3 rooms at same price, all were different quality, esp the balconies. Electric shutters and awnings very useful. Breakfast was OK, but very crowded as everybody eating inside. Bar and restaurant is 1 area so can only drink inside if restaurant empty. Area is good, easy walk to sea, old town, restaurants, station etc. Rating would have been higher except for Thurs night. We were on 7th floor, bar, pool etc on 8th. There was a private function on 8th with v loud music - I rang front desk at 11.30 and was told it would stop at 12….rang again at 12.30 and was told it there was nothing he could do but leave a note for the manager! Music finally stopped just after 2. Next morning I went to desk to speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t available (coincidentally he was due back after we were due to leave)…..receptionist was totally dismissive and disinterested. Also there is no contact number for front deck in the rooms, which is odd. Finally, when we checked out we were not given an itemised bill, also odd. Overall, a decent place to stay if you want easy access to local area, comfortable and clean rooms…..but stay below 7th floor if you like to sleep before 2a.m.!

Despite the heat, the AC was off in the hotel. Had to open the windows. The suite was old and moldy and my wife hard asthma symptoms. A four star price for a one star hotel. Don’t stay there.

Great roof top bar, swimming pool and hot tub with fantastic views over Nice and within easy walking of the city centre. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the room didn’t work or had been turned off so the room temperature was very warm and slightly uncomfortable.

My first impression, when I arrived to your hotel and waited at the reception to check-in was a real desappointment! 3 receptionists were working then. They didn't look at me as a new guest, no one could say: "welcome we will soon take care of you", which is, to my opinion, very unprofessional, further on, the Manager came to the front desk, he was angry and said very unpleasant comments to the staff infront of the people who where checking in, like me. I went forward the desk, looked at him with sharp eyes, meaning: That is not acceptable, definitely not professional at all. He understood the message and left the reception immediatly. When I called the reception from my room with some questions I had, the woman who answered (she also was at the reception when I arrived, she was staring in her computer all the time, total lack of social competence) she just said: I am busy (with a harsh tone) I'll call you in 5 minutes. She never called me back! My room was fine, the cleaning was perfect, the top roof was really great, the staff there was very friendly, service-minded real professionals!! Because of the unprofessional and unpleasant staff at the reception I will never come back to your hotel. I just came back from Nice and chose an other 4 stars hotel, very close to yours. Everyone there were very friendly, service- minded, asked if I needed help with something! Advice: Do something with your staff in the reception.

Når vi kom til hotellet var personale i resepsjonen ignorante og virket uinteressert til å hjelpe med innsjekking. Rommet var ikke vasket skikkelig, støv på bordene. Hull i veggen bak skrivebord, lå hår i ene sengen på lakenet. Doen fynket ikke helt optimalt, måtte spyle ned flere ganger. Luktet røyk i gangen. Etter dag 3 måtte vi selv spør om dopapir og kaffe. Ville ikke gitt dette hotellet 4 stjerner.

I got to the hotel and tried to checkin at the reception the lady at the desk was not helpful at all, she asked for a cash deposit even after asking her to use my card number details I had to pre authorise the transaction she refused, said I couldn’t check in. I only had contactless and the card details I had used at a previous hotel to pre authorise as a deposit. They said I should try an atm outside and I had to go beg someone at an atm that they take out cash and I do an instant transfer for them, it was hard finding someone who spoke English for starters, nearly 45mins later I had €50 cash for my deposit. I eventually got to the room and unfortunately it had a horrible smell from the shower, like a sewage leak, went to complain they said I can’t change rooms they will send someone, they did eventually send someone who cleaned and sprayed the shower. The rest of the stay was ok, the balcony had no view, pool was small but at least had one, not convinced the hotel was value for money, breakfast I had once was good. The area is safe close to walk to the beach. Overall experience average. I doubt I would stay here again.

The checking was awful. The rooms were not available upon arrival. we got in at 3:30pm, Checking was at 4pm and room was not available until 1 hour later. The lobby areas was such chaos. The rooms itself smelled so awful. We paid for a 4 star hotel and we got 2 star quality. Will never stay here again.

Grundlæggende et rigtigt fint sted, ikke luksus men absolut fint, flot rengjort og rigtig god beliggenhed. Tæt på strand, gode små spisesteder og alt indenfor gå-afstand. Dejligt med roof-top og pool til afslapning om eftermiddagen. Vi kommer nok igen.

The staff were amazing and accommodating. The area was perfect so close to restaurants and the beach. We loved the rooftop pool and restaurant area. We could not ask for better accommodations and perfect location.

We had a very nice stay at the Splendid Hotel. The location was great and only a short walk to the promenade and many, many restaurants and attractions. The view from the 8th floor is amazing - there is a pool, hot tub and plenty of seating and the staff will bring your food and drinks out to you. It makes for an amazing way to experience the sunset. A few minor issues - the hotel only gives a single bottle of still water per day despite the number of guests in the room. Calling down to get more was a hassel - they directed us to go to reception and argued when I wanted to buy more. I had to go to the bar upstairs on floor 8 to get a 1L bottle of water but you could tell they were unfamiliar with the request. Very minor thing but the hotel needs to make things like that more easily accessible. Americans like our water. The hotel breakfast was also great, during the weekdays. On Saturday before we departed, the already very small area was filled with guests and there were no plates, forks, and it generally was unclean (spoons caked it egg, found a hair in my sausage). A disappointing departure day. Beware also while floor 3 looked nice, but I had seen how dark and dingy the 2nd floor was and was shocked how inconsistent it was. Overall, we would go back for sure, as the staff were generally nice and accommodating and we had a nice experience.

Staff went above and beyond. The breakfast was expensive and did not have too many vegan or vegetarian options, but this does not change the fact that this is was a wonderful hotel experience. 10/10

Great place to stay, nice roof top area , central to the beach , old town and railway station. Staff where great and very helpful, place is clean and surrounding area was safe. My only negative was that the hot breakfasts was terrible but the cold elements was ok.

Lovely twin room with a bath and shower. Very clean. Comfortable beds. We had tapas at the restaurant on the 8th floor, which were delicious. Will come back again when I revisit Nice.
