-Great location, friendly staff and a lovely breakfast We stayed four nights with our toddler and would happily come back. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the location couldn't be better: right in the centre of Stresa, with the ferry to the islands just outside the door and restaurants, cafés and the lakefront all a short walk away. Breakfast was included and was easy, quick and delicious, which made a real difference with a little one in tow. We stayed in two rooms during our trip. The lake view room on the third floor had a fantastic view over the lake. The second room faced the street at the back, which had its own appeal: you could feel the energy of the town in the evening. Two things worth knowing. Like some other reviewers have mentioned, the beds are on the firmer side. And for international travellers, the power outlets are the older-style European sockets, so your international charger might not fit. Bring an adapter that works with Italian sockets. Overall, a very good stay, and we'd recommend it.

Some people like the grandeur of Italian hotels, some prefer the more modern type of hotels. This hotel convinced us that we are very happy to stay in Italian style hotels. Very nice inside with most comfortable seats in the lounge areas, good breakfast (not a massive choice but perfectly good). Our room was facing the front with a balcony, yes when you were in the balcony during the day there was the road noise from below but when you closed the balcony door the sound proofing was excellent, didn’t hear a thing. Liked the fact that we could use the pool facilities at the nearby Regina Palace for free. Very conveniently located for the restaurants and shops which was good for us.

Dinner was very disappointing; Tour bus takeover and staff ignored other customers. Food was marginal at best. Staff gave our room key to the wrong people and assumed we had lost it. Searched our room - under the bed, through our stuff on the desk, even though we told them we had dropped key at the desk. CCTV cameras pointed at desk “were at another office” so staff said they couldn’t be reviewed.
