Clarion Hotel & Suites Riverfront

We booked this hotel for a family get away because it had a water park on n it we arrived and the hotel clerk charged my son for three nights we only stayed two. We then asked about the pool and water park and was told we had to go next door the use their pool and the water park was only opened on weekends we stayed Tuesday Wednesday I would not have booked the hotel had this all been disclosed before hand. The desk clerk that was on that first night was down right rude to a customer about parking he was not being nasty just asking where he could park she became nasty he asked for her manager and refused to get one told him to come back after 9 when the restaurant closed and he could possibly find parking I will never use this hotel again and I would have since my grandson is going to college there for next 4 years. In the mean time my sister n has to wait 10 days to get his money back due to her error. I will let others know not to do business with this hotel.

The only thing I didn't like was that they said they had a pool, and it wasn't true. I had to go to the next hotel, the Best Western, and it wasn't possible to do that.

The pool is in the hotel next door and I didnt know that prior to booking. The picture of the pool is on their webpage so I assumed it was onsite. It's cold to walk from next door while all wet from swimming. I would have booked next door had I known. But it was great otherwise.

Great place to stay. Restaurant on site was excellent as well.

Excellent breakfast with lots of hot options. Three waffle makers, Chobani yoghurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown patties. Half decent coffee, lots of juice options. I would definitely book this again for college visits. Only downside is parking, as is at a premium during dining hours. Street parking is a safe option as well.

The restaurant and bar in the hotel were wonderful

The property advertises a pool and a gym. That’s one of the main reasons of getting this hotel. Only to find out that the pool and gym are next door. Why would I go without and walk in The rain back to my hotel? This makes zero sense? Don’t advertise with a picture of a pool for your hotel

The room had issues that the very nice clerk tried to resolve and couldn\'t. TV remotes didn’t work despite new batteries. Room phone was dead and we were told that had been true for the last 20 days. The clerk said she would tell the manager and she would take care of it, but at checking the manager said she couldn\'t "do anything" for us because we booked through Expedia. Also, the pool is located in the hotel next door, not what we expected. Oh, and the toilet ran continuously. My husband tried to fix it but couldn\'t.

Staff were amazing, but the property was dated! Dresser had a block of wood under one of the legs, odd piece of paper under bedside table leg and bedside table drawer would not stay closed, so we kept hitting it! Not enough parking for number of rooms

Staff is superb! Only issues is there is no gym or pool on site. You’d have to walk to best western in the middle of the cold that’s a challenge. Also WIFI was choppy in and out. So hard to do work! Complementary breakfast included! Shout out to Andrew and Kaitlyn, Abby for being terrific! There is a water park but that’s really intended for kids

The housecleaning was not uniform. One day no towels, next day they left our dirty towels. And left pillows on the floor after making the bed.

Room was dirty and moved to a new room. The new room was not much better everything dusty,cob webs on lamp and window screen. Table has broken rear left leg. Refrigerator had spilled food again. I didn't want to complain again but housekeeper is not doing her job. Bed was very comfortable scenery from window. Stains on comforter.

Room was clean, well kind of. Cobwebs in corners, window sill had mold and shower had mold along with corners in bathrrom filled with dirt and debris. Breakfast was good. People running in halls and above us and noisy.

Location i great and the staff if super helpful and friendly especially the night staff member Abby who helped us out our first night there when we discovered extremely dirty sheets and stains on the wall

I paid for two queen beds. The beds were obviously fulls. I called reception and was rudely told no they are queens. The hallways and room smelled like smoke. The chairs in the room were filthy. I wouldn’t even place luggage on them. There was an envelope left on the table for us to leave a tip for house keeping. That is rude. There was a glass door to the outside parking lot. The blinds did not work at the top and so all night our room was bright enough to read from the outside lights. We got to hear car alarms go off a few times. The actual window in the room had curtains that did not actually cover the whole window. Although checkin was fast they didn’t seem very caring. It was very fast which I appreciate but maybe ask “how are you?” “Did you come far?” Anything other then “I need your license, credit card, and license plate”. The hallways smelled like smoke, mildew, and garbage. This stay was meant to be a special treat with my daughter while we checked out SUNY Oswego. It didn’t feel that way at all and left me sorry I wasted my money. I almost would have rather just turned around and drove the 7 hours home.

I booked a room here because of the stellar rating. The room was terrible. The air conditioner was a window unit that was noisy and kept cycling on and off without cooling the room. The bathroom was so small the door’s gonna smack smack you in the knees if you’re on the toilet. The tub looked like the cleaning crew forgot to clean it.

we stayed in 3 rooms during our emergency trip to n.y. room 402 was fine. no problem at all. clean and smelled good. The 2nd room we stayed in which was this night was 503 we call it spider room. We had spiders on the walls near the window, near the fridge, in the closet and bathroom. also the bathroom itself looked like mold on the walls and ceiling. I really dont like to complain but this was bad. even woke up twice during the night and had spiders crawling on me. Then our 3rd room which was 401 was excellent. wish we could of gotten this room the whole stay but like i said it was an emergency trip to n.y. and had to book what we could. The staff was excellent. Can say they were very helpful and very polite and informative about stuff we had questions about and the kids had questions about. The breakfast was one of the best parts especially for the kids they really enjoyed it with so many different items to chose from and eat and drink they really did love it. Also the water park was great for the kids got them off grandma for the day as grandma isnt doing too well. Other then room 503 we had an excellent stay and loved it. We thank you all for the great staff and great property yall have there in oswego n.y.

We had two rooms booked during our stay, the first room had back up in the shower drain which back-flowed dirt/sewage all over the bathtub. The other room did not have any hot water… Both reported to the front desk staff but since they were sold out nothing could be done :(

There was hair all over the sheets and pillows. We tried switching 3 times and still no positive outcome... had to end up sleeping in my tuck in the parking lot till i got a different hotel later that next day.

Room was clean until looked under the dresser. Had not bedn vaccumed in while

Can't beat the location. Water views, and an indoor water park for kiddos. It's a no frills, budget friendly hotel that is beyond its prime. The older carpets, furniture, elevator, and HVAC system could all use updating. Our room had an indescribable funk to it that could only be attributed to the age of the building.

Stayed here while house hunting in Oswego. The location was perfect! Close to everything! Sites and stores were just minutes away by car, and restaurant were just steps away! Beautiful view of the river and west side of the city!

We checked in a little early but I didn’t realize the first floor was an old motel and we had a glass door to the outside parking lot in our room. The bathroom was tiny and the chairs were stained. The curtains on the windows were ripped and the room had a well water type smell.

The walls at this hotel are paper thin and normal conversations in the adjoining rooms can be heard readily. Additionally, this hotel has a new indoor water park in the adjacent building and the patrons are predominantly families with young kids. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay… this is NOT the best choice!!

TV didn't work. Seemed to be for many/all guests. Whole system seems outdated and should be upgraded. Only one elevator working. No info anywhere.

We had 2 rooms as we added days to our stay. First off there is no pool like the pic shows. That’s been changed to the splash water park. Which is only open on weekends. So be mindful of that. Our first room was a queen bed on the fourth floor. It was nice ac was almost to Cold but they like it cold up there. No complaints here. Shower head could have been a little higher as I’m 5-7 but it was just a little lower than I’d like but the pressure made up for it. The second room. I almost asked to change rooms. The hallway and room had a musky musty smell to it. The ac in that suite had 2. 1 that barely worked at all and 1 that was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep. When I told them at checkout that she just said “we will have it replaced “ maybe they already are planning that. Because it’s so old how would they have not known it made that sound prior to us staying. You walk in and hear it. Turn it off and when you turn it back on it’s even louder. Being a sunny room you need the ac there. They did provide bowls and plates and all in the suite. Old couch and chair that should definitely be updated. When I pulled the sheet out a kids drawing came out with it. Like stuffed between the sheets. So makes me wonder if they changed them at all. Or just the bottom one. The restaurant has great staff but not much difference in food from around the area. The food was Decent and they had music one night we were there until like 10 pm. Lots to do around here.

Room was very noisy, band below room and movement of furniture above room made sleeping nearlly imposssible, Bed mattress was as hard as a rock resulting in tossing and turning all nite long. Location excellent and facility in good shape. Hotel ad showed a pool. Pool not in there facility but in the the nextdoor facility. Because of hard mattresses will not use this hotel again.

Nice, clean, quiet hotel. Comfortable bed. Had a delicious Caesar salad at the restaurant. Excellent and friendly staff at both the hotel restaurant and the hotel.

I’m sure that this is probably a decent place to stay but I was lied to about parking. Before I made the reservations I called to make sure there would be adequate parking for my 26ft boat and truck. I was assured there’d be plenty of room. After I checked in and asked where the best place to park would be I was informed they could not accommodate and if I took up to many spaces the owner would have my boat and truck towed. I immediately cancelled the reservations and had to scramble to find other accommodations. I’m currently still waiting to be reimbursed.

Front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. Had an excellent dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel. They balcony looks out over the river. Very nice.

Hotel is amazing, the employees doing face to face service were amazing. The only issue is was how the hotel communicates with the third party so I used. I wasn’t made aware of the $150 deposit. I read through the policies as much as as possible and saw nothing about needing a deposit. Next, I ordered another room on accident for the same Night because I use virtual credit cards in order to not get hacked. So instead of a deposit I know had a two new reservations. The gentleman that helped me was great but I was never refunded te differences because I ordered a suite the second time but asked to stay in the same room for conscience. The young lady, says she’s the manager, was very upset with me because albeit I checked in with her st 7:15 am and told her that I don’t know why this third night isn’t showing up, I had fallen back asleep because I had brought my father to the hospital that previous night due to his COPD and. Emphysema, With all of my personal problems going on, the young lady did not have any consideration and said we needed to figure it out by 12:30 or I have to get my stuff and leave. I’m not sure why I was treated like a throwaway or like she’s doing me a favor- I booked a room, the friend I was with had it in his name but she wouldn’t accept a picture of the lisence only the real one. So I asked her to let me change the reservation name- third party app said I had to change it with hotel not them

The most horrible customer experience you could face in any hotel. My wife calls their front desk and customer support: The Mussolini effect! 3 words to describe it: Horrible, Horrible, and Horrible!!

The Clarion was delightful to stay at. It was very clean and I was satisfied with our entire stay. I was able to check in early and check out late due to a busy baseball tournament schedule. I was so thankful that the hotel staff was so accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very attentive and pleasant. I had friends who stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and they experienced a very unpleasant stay. I highly recommend the Clarion Inn in Oswego!

Great location…easy walk across the bridge to dining options…City Cafe was easy…nice walk to historic neighborhoods being renovated and restored…easy walk to local grocery store. Very nice breakfast included…nice staff and helpful.

The people were absolutely fantastic, very helpful, friendly and courteous. The outside deck at Steamers overlooking the river was amazing and great food. Room accommodations were nice but could have been cleaner. Great location to walk to restaurants.

The breakfast had great variety and was one of the best I have been to. That’s one of the main reasons we keep coming back every year when we visit my daughter at college.

The property is great for lodging. The dining hall serving area needs updating as it cannot accomodate large crowds for serving foods.

Everyone was super friendly. The room was clean. We had a very nice breakfast, great Belgian waffles!

Great place to stay while visiting my daughter at Oswego College. The restaurant in house has great food options. The clam chowder soup is a must have.
