Not sure I’d choose here again. Easy for Heathrow though. Warm/hot water from the cold tap. No fridges in room for medication. comfy Bed but very tired room. No lifts in the hotel. Bar ok basic pub food available. Empty glasses all over corridors. Endless drab corridors between rooms. Overpriced shop on site; £4 for a small bottle of water! 25 quid for a bottle of wine that is 9 from Sainsburys! POD access was good though making it easy to T5 for 8.75 per person.

The hotel does not have a lift to the upper floors. This is a major concern to people with difficulties with stairs. We only found this out upon arrival. We had 2 large cases which we struggled with to the upper floor. No offer of assistance was made. The rooms are tired, cold and in need of a facelift. It looks like there has not been any decorating since the 1970s. The restaurant was nice. Food good although a bit limited to basic chips and burgers. Would I stay again .... No

Convenient & good value overnight stay before catching flight from T5. Pod connection worked well for arrival and departure. Good welcome by reception staff & enjoyed a meal in the restaurant overlooking the plane activity. No lift to second floor so a short number of stairs have to be navigated with luggage which may cause a problem for some, although Reception did offer assistance if required.

Very old fashioned and extremely expensive. £7 for a bag of popcorn, £5 for a can of coke. The reception has had a refurb in the last 30 years, but none of the rooms have. Food in the restaurant was ok. On a par with Wetherspoons. Overlooking the airport landing strip though, so something to look at.

Check in was swift and Reception staff were extremely efficient and polite. Room itself was lacking - not terribly clean, although bed was comfortable enough. None of the plug sockets worked however, which we reported to Reception. Someone came up and fixed some of the sockets, but there were still some not working, including the kettle socket. As we were only staying one night, we did not push further.

Thistle is in a good location, easy to get to from Terminal 5 and has several restaurants and a great little neighborhood pub within walking distance. The hallway carpet going down to the main floor rooms is terrible! Not only dirty, but in several places is ripped and a tripping hazard. One spot has duct tape on it, and another has nothing=very easy to catch a toe on trip and fall. It has been like this the last 3-4 times we have stayed there. The management should be embarrassed by this and concerned for the patrons' safety. Change this out please!!!

The room was very dated and is in desperate need of renovation . The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the stench of mold coming from the bathroom Staff friendly but couldn’t really recommend it .

We enjoyed a courteous and helpful staff - the breakfast was well worth it with so many wonderful choices to select for a day's kickoff and travel. The hallways could use an upgrade in color and scratches on the darkly stained doors, carpet and chair rails. The room was clean tidy and quiet.

The property was clean and the hotel restaurant had good food. The lack of a good score comes from the fact that there was hair in the sheets. When I called the front desk to inform me they asked me if I would like someone to come and clean it or move rooms. I requested to move rooms. The worse part is I had just taken a shower before our early morning flight out. I am not saying to not stay here as it is a nice hotel just be careful to overlook your room. I made the mistake of not checking before I jumped into the shower but we checked in late. I wish the hotel would have taken this a bit more serious as we felt it was just kind of brushed off. Mistakes happen but how you rectify it speaks volumes

Check-in was friendly and efficient.I found my room easily. It was very clean and tidy and in fact I think the sheets were brand-new. The bed was very comfortable and a small easy chair was also welcome. The room itself is rather old fashioned with dark woods But is functional. My major frustration was that there were no power outputs by the bedside tables. The value for money was reasonable for a single night stay.

The Thistle is really convenient to Terminal 5 and the pods are a really easy way to transfer. Check in was easy and reception were friendly. The rooms are quite compact but the bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The shower was good although I would prefer a shower screen as opposed to curtains. We ate upstairs and the quality of food was good. Drink prices were quite expensive ( a bottle of Malbec came in at £38.50) but I suppose that's London prices. The sports bar was very busy but service was good and the view from the terrace to Heathrow was great. Overall a good stay and really handy for Terminal 5.

The room was clean but very dated. For an airport hotel it was very noisy (not from the airport but from other rooms). The room walls must be thin as I could hear the guests in the room next to me when they woke up ahead of my 4.30am alarm. They weren’t being noisy it’s just due to the set up of the hotel. Unfortunately, if you have an early flight and need to get a decent sleep I would not recommend this hotel.

Clean warm room. Comfortable bed. Some inevitable plane noise but not too disturbing. Bath was a pleasant surprise. Plugs/USB sockets beside bed would have been nice. Only some of the Freeview channels worked..Aircon was tricky to understand.

anyone considering the hotel: i haven't seen it explained very clearly but the way you get to the hotel is via a 5 minute driverless monorail thing straight from terminal 5 car park. It's unbelievably convenient, just factor in another 16 quid (8 there, 8 back). But honestly, it was worth it for the speed. You can get from T2/T3 coachstation to T5 park via free train within half hour, then the pod things are waiting for you and you're there in a blink. The actual hotel itself was way better than i expected for the price and when there was an issue, they resolved it straight away in a way that was very generous.

This hotel is in serious need of refurbishment - or rebuilding. No lifts, cramped rooms, yellowing plastic equipment, no power sockets near the bed, copious usecof mastic in the bathroom etc. The check-in was great but after that the service was terrible, especially in the restaurant where our table was neither wiped nor set up before our meals arrived. The trays of half eaten meals which were in the corridor near our room when we checked in were still there the next day when we checked out. There were just two plus points - the aircon was whisper quiet and the pods to T5 were fascinating... as long as it's not raining - but that is more Heathrow than Thistle. It's half the price of the hotel in T5 where we usually stay (and we tried it to use the pods) but I'll happily pay the extra £75 and stay in the terminal in future rather than stay here.

Always my hotel of choice if departing from Terminal 5. Such a convenient location, and the the bar terrace is a nice relaxing place to unwind on a summer evening, watching the planes. The staff here are always friendly and attentive, making sure you have everything you need.

This is very misleading as it is called thistle terminal 5 one might assume it’s in the airport, it is not! And finding transportation ( the pods) was not well marked and airport staff were unaware. When you get off the pod with luggage you still have to walk thru a parking lot and a ways to the hotel. The staff in hotel were excellent but the hotel is very old and very basic. Next time I’ll opt for another hotel and grab the easy HotelHoppa from airport

Access to the LHR - I wanted to take the Pods, so i paid GBP8 at the front desk, walked for about 2mins outside with my luggage, entered the long term parking through a gate that requires a code the hotel gave me, and then another few seconds to the Pods "terminal". The walkway is clearly marked but there is no shelter so if it's raining, you will get wet. The pods took about 5mins, and then it's an elevator ride to access departures. 7/10 on convenience to the airport. Hotel: Very basic, but with key amenitires. My room was the most basic, small with limited sound insulation. I could hear my next door neighbor sneeze. There are also no elevators to the rooms, so you'll have to carry your luggage up 30 steps. The staff were helpful and quick to give me a hand. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, and i had a decent night's sleep. The room was cheap and it suited my budget so overall I was ok with the trade-offs.

The Thistle is my go to hotel when flying into Terminal 5. Take the POD over to long term parking and exit for the Thistle. It's nice so you do not have to worry about a bus or taxi.

Great place to stay for ease of getting to Heathrow terminal 5 and the tubes. For a long term stay to visit London, opt for a hotel closer to the city itself as the reideninto London takes about 40 minutes on the tube. The hotel itself is a little dated and worn, Otherwise not a bad place to stay overall.

Food is best described as basic - to the extent that we just didn’t bother with breakfast, after sampling from the night before - makes a premier inn menu look Michelin Star Room was fine, basic, but no complaints - reflective of room cost Staff weren’t great - lots of places to criticise .. long queues (likely understaffed) and lots of mistakes made - always at customer expense And, if you complain, they make you jump through hoops, before they solve anything (complaining isn’t something I do, so, it might give a clue, to how problematic the food/drink situation was There is no lift for the first floor - so don’t bring a heavy case, or, have issues with hiking It’s okay, nothing better, nothing worse

Property was OK for a one night in transit stay. However although the breakfast was great the food in the evening was disgusting. We ordered nachos and chicken strips. The Nachos looked and tasted like they had been put together by a five year old, globs of sour cream and other indescribable ingredients slopped onto a plate, no cheese, everything cold, had two chips an left the rest. The chicken strips were overcooked and there was three small strips for £9. Also left them, it was like eating beef jerky. Service was slow and unfriendly.

The room was really nice and the bed was a queen and huge and very comfortable. It has a great shower and all body wash and conditioner. Loved the different teas in the room and shortbread biscuits. The restaurant and bar staff are lovely and the bar food is great. I best part is watching the planes on the runway while having breakfast.

Having visited this hotel at least 8 times in the past 18 months I was looking forward to my stay as they previously consistently exceed my expectations. Check-in was quick and super friendly. The room was the usual good standard. Breakfast was great as usual. My evening meal wasn't the best, usually I am singing the praises of this restaurant both in terms of quality and value. On this occasion I was served overcooked, dry chicken tenders as a starter, I struggled to try and eat one but had to return the rest. It was obvious from looking that they should not have been served, but believe it or not I am not a complainer, so tried to eat them. A replacement was swiftly delivered but nor real apology was offered, not even when paying the bill. I hope this isn't how things are going to be, as I make very regular use of this wonderful hotel.

Generally the public areas are tired as is the furniture in the rooms, other than the important thing the bed which was super comfortable. The restaurant was friendly and they dealt very well with the corked bottle of wine we were served .. although we think it got sent to another table, the Dark and Stormy cocktails were excellent. The rooms were well priced the food over priced but it's London. A little investment would see a 4* review.

Aviation fans dream hotel! Sits right on the edge of one of Heathrow’s runways with perfect views! Ended up spending an entire day on the balcony! The room is basic but comes with all essentials and was clean. Staff are all very friendly, easy check in and check out. A good range of food at breakfast and reasonably priced. Pods made it easy to access Heathrow and the underground to get into central London. 10/10!
