This hotel provided basic amenities but zero charm. While it bills itself as friendly and homey, that was not our experiemce. It came across as corporate and impersonal. Two days before arrival, I got a text with a link to a check-in form. It asked for my name, email, and phone number - all standard requests. Then it asked me for my DL#, and to upload a picture of my driver's license. That seemed unnecessary, as none of the other hotels asked for this. The next request really puzzled me. They asked me to upload a picture of myself holding my driver's license. Seriously, I thought it might be a prank, or a phishing attempt. I called the phone number given. I spoke to the onsite property manager. I shared my discomfort at the intrusive and unusual request. He said it was necessary due to the lack of a front desk, making it a no-contact check-in. He'd see if there was a way around it, and he'd get back to me. He never did. Instead, I just got another message instructing me to fill out the form prior to 11 a.m. in order to get our access code. I texted him: how does Vermont Suites protect my data? How long would it retain my data? Could we meet in person, so I could show him my license? No reply, just another automated message about the form. I filled it out, reluctantly. We used several no-contact hotels, and none asked us for anything to check in, other than our names. Also, their T&C is one-sided, in their favor. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.
