The hotel was very convenient, right at the top of the Spanish Steps. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Everyone spoke English which was a plus. Only thing that needs to be updated in the hotel posting is there is no elevator.

I was a wonderful property the location was great. Close to everything. The building we were in was a bit away from the breakfast area, there were many many steps to get there but it helped walk off all the food we ate!

A beautiful hotel located near Spanish Steps. There is the main hotel near the top of the steps and an annex near the bottom of the steps. The annex has the elevator but the main does not. The Annex has no breakfast but the main does. So you need to be able to walk to the top of the steps to take advantage of the breakfast in the garden terrace. We were in the annex and the location was unrivaled for us. Room was more than perfect with balcony overlooking Piazza Di Spagna and Magninelli Square. Super great for walking to a variety of restaurants, hop on hop off busses and many well known sites. Staff always available and willing to help. While there is no staff in the annex they are a phone call away.

Great location and clean room. Short staffed (as in 1 person) and actual rooms were separated from front office, in a whole different building, requiring at least 3 access points, a physical key, card, access code, etc. All a bit too much for a quick one night stay.

The hotel is divided into 2 buildings. The main hotel is at the top of the Spanish steps the other is at the bottom at another plaza down the street. We stayed in the annex building and really liked the location. We didn’t have the convenience of being in the main hotel but we also didn’t have to walk up the steps everyday.

⚠️ WARNING: Do NOT stay at this hotel — total scam! If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This place tried to scam me by claiming I broke the TV after I checked out, even though everything was perfectly fine when I left. They clearly try to pull this trick on guests to charge extra money. Absolutely unbelievable and completely dishonest. On top of that, the hotel was not clean at all — dirty room, bathroom not properly sanitized, and overall terrible maintenance. Save yourself the headache and stay far away from this place. There are plenty of other hotels that respect their guests and don’t try to steal money with fake damages.

Excellent location! The staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms are good sized and very clean; excellent AC. The breakfast is fantastic. Would definitely recommend and if our travels bring us back to Rome, I would stay here again.

Check in was quick and informative. We were brought to our room and everything was explained. Room was clean and comfortable. As we had an early flight, we did not experience the breakfast, which was included in our price, but heard it was delicious.

This hotel is only a 2 minute walk from the Spanish steps and walking distance to all the major attractions, shops, and eateries. The entire hotel staff was friendly and the free breakfast is very good! Housekeeping did a fantastic job cleaning are room daily while on vacation.

Wonderful location and staff. If you are overweight or a big person do not book an economy room the standing shower is impossible and being a VIP member at Expedia they are not able to fix or attend this issue.

We loved the location of the hotel as we were able to walk to many of the sights that we wanted to see in Rome. We were in the upper part of the hotel and view from the hallway was spectacular. We also had a nice view from our window. The room was comfortable, very clean and thoughtfully appointed and breakfast was very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Typical to Rome hotels the room was a little small, but you expect that. I was in the annex building so away from the actual hotel, not a huge deal but it felt like I was more in an office building with a cluster of rooms. The room was very stark but convenient to restaurants and shopping. I did not enjoy the breakfast but it was included. No in room mini bar but clean and cozy.

I never experienced such a thing. First,i added two reservations in the same week, on Wednesday, i was in Rome, and I thought I was in until Thursday They called, and i was 30 min away and told me I need to go since my reservation ends today, and I thought it was the next day, so i told him I am on the way. They said you need to come now or they will take my stuff outside. I told them not to touch my stuff in the room , and they kept insisting that i come now, which was impossible I needed time to get a cap to go back Finally i was able to go back and I had a conversation with the management, but he still said that I had to leave immediately since the new client was there waiting. I never experienced such disrespect and may racism .I will never recommend this hotel until they change their management. I had to keep quiet since I lost trust to this hotel, as I had to come back for another day before leaving Rome I hope this hotel will be eliminated from your list, never ever to go back again with this disrespect

We stayed for only one night prior to flying home. The front desk team is very helpful. They arranged our shuttle to the airport. It’s very walkable to many top sights. Great restaurants nearby. Nice to have the 24/7 front desk, felt secure in the midst of a busy city. The hotel had a vintage feel but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast looked great but we had an early flight and didn’t have time to enjoy. I’d stay again if in the area.

DO NOT use this hotel’s limo service! Despite providing a email confirmation of a hotel to cruise port limo at X price, the hotel charged more at the port. The hotel manager refused to honor its earlier price— this is a fraudulent bait/switch operation, Hotels.com should not recommend the Hotel Scalinata.

This hotel is centrally located by the Spanish Steps, shopping and restaurants. It's walking distance to most attractions in Rome or to transportation. The room was nicely designed with a terrace and balcony. The room was clean and straightened up daily. The only issues I had was that the cleaning staff didn't pay close detail to the fact that we were running low on bathroom toiletries and I had to ask for it twice. Additionally, I asked for transportation to be scheduled for my day of departure and felt dismissed. I asked for the VIP amenity to be delivered to my room at a specific time and felt dismissed. Even at check in, I felt rushed so that the staff could check someone else out although I had waited my time to check in. Overall, the location was great. The room was nice. Some of the staff need work on customer service delivery.

We tremendously enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Check in was efficient and informative by the friendly staff members who greeted us. We stayed in the Annex building and would highly recommend the rooms here. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent and many options were provided to help us fuel up for the day. The hotel offered transportation from the airport and also helped us get the same transportation to the cruise port. We would stay here again!!

Incredible location right at the top of the Spanish steps! *Note: if steps are not for you, this won’t be either. The metro is at the bottom of them. They very kindly let us check in super early, around 10am, so we could nap after our flight. The room with the patio is a MUST! Wish we’d stayed longer to use it more! Decent continental breakfast but they do have an excellent espresso machine. Extremely friendly staff. Would stay here anytime.

Breakfast was great . Hotel in excellent area . Walkable distance to most major attractions in Rome, including the Spanish Steps (hotel is right next to the top), Colosseum, Pantheon, and Trevi Fountain. Also walkable to train station and many stores and restaurants. Nice staff as well.

Very nice hotel that is clean and well kept. Staff are very courteous. Breakfast has lots of variety. Only thing is the location at the top of the Spanish steps is a challenge. If the Metro elevator is broken and cannot be used after a day of touring, those steps are a long climb. The view at the top is your reward for the effort though.

Every morning we would wake up with bathroom sewer smell. So had to flush both toilets and open the window a little. The only thing gluten free for breakfast was scrambled eggs & some fresh fruit every morning. They had lots of pastries but nothing gluten free. Would have been nice to at least have 1 gluten free pastry option.

Our stay was amazing! The hotel staff are so helpful and welcoming. Everytime we saw staff interacting with other guests they were going above and beyond for each guest. The breakfast in the balcony was something we looked forward to each morning ! The options were endless but not overflowing there were delicacies . We needed help with an absurdly early transfer to the airport and they were incredibly helpful!
